    Modernize your Can-Am Ryker and enjoy the benefits of our keyless ignition system. This Ryker keyless system is a mostly plug n play installation and includes everything needed to switch from a manual key to a wireless key fob. This system communicates via an RFID (Radio-Frequency Identification Device) tag, which is used to start the ignition sequence within a certain range. With the combination of over 6 billion different codes, you can rest assured your keyless ignition will differ from others. Each kit is designed to perform under extreme environments and utilizes water resistant sealed control module that is made with military grade FR-4 circuit boards, with small SMT components for durability. Each kit passes a thorough inspection, as it has to pass the harsh ISO9001 testing and TS16949 OEM Automotive certifications.

    Slingmods: You guys provide some good products to the Can am community. Thanks! I'm just saying , you walk up to your bike - start it using the same procedure. You saved 30 seconds not having to pull your factory key out and connecting it to the bike , but you spent $300.00 - now you have to keep up with a key fob battery replacement - more battery draw on your bike's battery and possible failure of the unit you purchased.

      Hello Ed, while I respect your feedback and understand that it's not for you, we're almost sold out of our initial pre-order batch... so there is indeed demand for products like this. It's also a feature that's built in to almost every modern vehicle manufactured in the U.S. today. It's honestly surprising that Can-Am doesn't offer this on their 3-wheel line-up. Polaris finally added it to the Slingshot in the 2020 model year after 5 years of a physical key. It's all about convenience. Is it needed? Absolutely not. Is it awesome? Heck yeah!

    I wish this also could start it via remote. I love my ryker but that start procedure is tedious and it would be cool to walk up push the key fob and it starts itself. But as I'd this system is very cool.

    • @Slingmods
      @Slingmods  3 года назад +3

      Yeah.. that'd be cool for sure. I don't know why Can-Am makes you go through so many steps to start their bikes.. other bikes are just flip switch to run and hit start. Both the Ryker and Spyder models have you go through a plethora of steps for whatever reason. Thx for watching!

    How does this mod work if the air box has been removed due to the installation of an intake system?

    • @Slingmods
      @Slingmods  3 года назад

      That's a great question. We use the factory airbox lid to store the smart key. You'd have to get creative if you've removed the factory intake. There isn't a ton of others places to stash that factory key without the air box lid as the harness to the smart key isn't very long.

    • @Slingmods
      @Slingmods  3 года назад +10

      Not sure I really understand that logic Mel. They can't start the bike without the key fob, unless they're gonna dismantle the bike and remove the keyless ignition module. If someone wanted to steal your Ryker that badly.. they'd roll up with 4 guys and a flat bed and be outta there in 30 seconds with or without the keyless system in place. I'd be equally bummed if my Ryker was stolen with or without the factory key on board.

    Slingmods: The ryker community would like to know - will the ryker key in their pocket ever leave them stranded? We think Slingmods should know.

    • @Slingmods
      @Slingmods  3 года назад +2

      Hello Ed, the keyless ignition system has a manual override button on-board along with a 4 digit pin code specific to each unit sold. If your key fob runs out of battery life before you replace the battery in your remote, then you can use the manual override system explained here: ruclips.net/video/g4zQmtZMD2I/видео.html We would recommend replacing the CR2032 batteries in the key fob once per year to prevent this from happening.

    • @ededwards7199

      Slingmods: I was referring to the Ryker factory supplied keys for the Ryker. Figured Slingmods would know the answer. I wasn't clear.

    • @Slingmods
      @Slingmods  3 года назад +1

      @@ededwards7199 Ah yes.. losing the factory key would leave you stranded with our without our keyless ignition installed. The Ryker uses a DESS ignition system, or Digitally Encoded Security System Key that contains a computer chip with a unique numeric code specific to your Ryker. This is the same technology used on BRP's Sea-Doo watercraft line.

    • @Slingmods
      @Slingmods  3 года назад +3

      Hello Drone, the key has to remain on board as the keyless module is simply interrupting the signal sent to the starter switch. This mod is intended for convenience for those that feel a keyless system is right for them or don't like fumbling around with their key. If my Ryker was stolen, I wouldn't personally be any less sad knowing the thief either did or did not have an original key. Not sure about deactivating the DESS by the dealership. That's a great question though.

    • @christianjouve

      @@Slingmods assurance Will be happy to know that the keys were on the Ryker….

    • @Slingmods
      @Slingmods  3 года назад +2

      @@christianjouve The key fob must be present to start the bike unless the bike is dismantled and the keyless module is removed. So in your scenario, your bike gets stolen. Then the thief arrives to their chop shop and realizes there is a factory key on board after it's already been stolen. Then they try and start the bike but it doesn't start because no key fob is present. Then they stumble across our youtube video and realize there is a starter interrupt harness inline. After all that, your bike was stolen without the knowledge of the system in place. If someone's gonna steal your bike, they're gonna steal your bike. It's our job to promote the new products that enter the Ryker market from various MFG's. This product is manufactured and designed by Digital Guard Dawg.. who is by far the leader in RFID keyless ignition systems for motorcycles, automobiles, marine, commercial & military applications. Many will find this product quite useful, as do we.. but I also understand that it's not for everyone.

  • @ededwards7199
    @ededwards7199 3 года назад +1

    So, you spend $300.00 and instead of fumbling for your key, you get to to fumble for your key fob! Doesn't make much sense, guys! I'd hate to leave my $100.00 factory key in the bike to get stolen!

    • @Slingmods
      @Slingmods  3 года назад +2

      Hello Ed, not sure if you watched the video through.. but "auto" mode makes it so that you do not need to fumble around with your key fob and so the keyless ignition system will simply recognize you within 10-15ft. I highly doubt someone's gonna dig around under your Ryker's Intake Scoop just to take your factory encoded key.. but I guess there is that chance yes. They could as easily steal your seat, which is in plain sight.
