The only way I would ride an open air vehicle (like a bike) during a harsh winter is if I had no other choice. Also, am I the only one seeing a mixed message to this video? It's titled 'Why you should never buy a Cam-Am Ryker (with 'never' in all caps), then at the end he says we should get one anyway. 😂
My wife got the Ryker 900 when they came out in 2019. We did have the VSS code issue but that was only AFTER she rear ended me and the bike needed major repair and it seemed to be an after -effect of this accident. Other than that, no issues at all. The bike is low-maintenance and oi changes are easy. My friend has the same bike and the only issue he has had is the return spring for the brake pedal needing to be replaced because the brake-light was staying on. The CVT is great - you have great throttle response from low to high end. I have the 2018 Spyder F3 and when my friend and I ride I sometimes take the wife's bike because I like that low-end throttle response/take off speed plus being way better if we hit a dirt road. The Spyder is a more comfortable ride and higher quality bike for sure, but the Ryker can be more "fun."
Most of this is CAP. Doesnt even sound like this person owns a Ryker. #1 i would say 95% of Ryker owners dont take these off road. Its not an offroad 3 wheeler. You even show some key thats not even for the Ryker. #6 Regular maintenance. The first oil change isnt due until 6000 miles. What other maintenance do you need? Also stop showing other vehicles. #7 Seriously hand and parking break issues? The Ryker doesnt have a hand break. At this point you are just making things up. SMH #8 I love that you show Slingmods vids for so called factory accessories. Again stop it. #9 Now your comparing a Ryker to a Lamborghini smh youre a FOOL! #10 Rust....What besides the rim holes do you see rust? My 2021 has literally been left in the pouring down rain and I have driven in the pouring down rain and I dont see these so called RUST issues. STOP IT! Lastly to finish off saying you love the bike. Id bet you dont even own one. So much of your footage is not yours or taken from other people. Showing a body kit that no longer exist and never really came to market. Showing so many other vehicles. Good job on the lies and click bait. If you have one tell us year, make and model. Show pics, are you original owner? If not stop trying to mislead people.
My stock // original factory brake pads are a complete pile of dong dog shit. 700 miles in and they started screeching plenty loud. Also suspension is showing potential issues , but minor fixes to that , aint nothing. So hes right on some , but not all , could be just a year made specific issue idk

I am 68 years old, just got my 2021 Can am Ryker 900 Rally 😂 live it, love it and hit the roads. Yes, there are some issues that could be annoying, and expensive. Otherwise great ride, and adventure.
I’ve had mine since 2021 and have had none of these problems. Like the overheating has never happened to me. And I also don’t beat the shit out of mine so that might also be why 🤷♂️
I have 3 Vespas and 1 Piaggio MP3, but I was just diagnosed with knee arthritis and I’m considering a Ryker because you don’t have to put your feet on the ground and because it has reverse. Do you all of you who own Can-Am love them? I would only get a Ryker because 15K it’s too much for me, convince me I should buy one 😊
I can’t with this video lol 😂 I’ve had my Ryker since April 2021 and absolutely love it. Have had no issues with it. Do my own maintenance, have been cross country, with no problems, no over heating, no fuel issues, no wheel issues, no “ reservoir” issues (not sure if it bothered anyone else when he said that word lol) but yes this is a lot of misinformation. Is it prone to having issues? Of course what vehicle isn’t, take care of it like you should and it’ll be completely fine.
It bothered the hell out of me the way he was saying it. I automatically assumed it was someone who had no idea what they were talking about and definitely didn't own one
My 2020 Rally has been flawless! It looks like you are complaining about YOUR 2022 Sport. Question for Ryker riders out there; have any of you "Hung out on the dunes" with your Ryker? One wheel drive in the sand sounds amazing!
My issue with your video is that you talk about the Ryker but show pictures of a Spyder many times. You also spoke about the problems with an outlander, but did not relate it to the Ryker.
Sales are not on the decline. Every dealer in my area is backordered months. My 22 has had no issues in the first 2k miles. Maybe some of the older rykers have issues.
Bullshit! None sold in Tucson! The dealership doesn't even know that they have electronic power steering and they won't allow test rides. No r=no sale! It's that simple!
I’m going to buy one maybe a 2022 or 2023 I hope they solved some problems….I took some classes how to ride the ryker and it was a blast!!!! Anyhow I hope you are well brother stay blessed
Just got one yesterday brand new I live in Michigan and it’s cold but had to take it for a spin lol it was so nice man I can’t wait till summer to ride it wow
I’m not sure if the problems listed are as prevalent as this video makes it sound. I literally have over 45,000 miles on mine and have not had these problems. Even my service department at my dealership has been impressed with this machine. Maybe I’m just fortunate about this and for that I am grateful. I love my 2020 Ryker Rally!
the can am ryker is ideal for persons Like me that have a disability I lost my lady above the knee and can am for me I can make a wheelchair carrier on the side and at least I’m out riding something that is similar to a motorbike I’ve been riding motorbikes since I was nine years old I am now 62 I hear a lot of negative but I don’t care , keep the shiny side up and put plenty of miles under your road
Lol, I’ve got a 570 Outlander and I live 3 miles from work, that’s all I ride during the summer, I should also mention there’s atv trails that connect I’m not riding it on the highway. Although I can’t say it’s not been done 😂
I watched this again and it's total bullshit. These problems have nothing to do with the Ryker. Like excess heat on your leg because of the exhaust location. The exhaust is underneath and gives off no heat to the rider, none. And hard to maintain because floorboards and panels need to be removed. Total nonsense.
I don’t even know where to start… the transmission gas mileage maybe?? Yeah, a Lamborghini cost x dollars and a ryker costs 10k… soooo idk… also, idc about the outlander 570 brake pads, since we’re talking about rykers… it’s mostly plastic but he wants more rustproofing…
This video is a joke! Not only is none of this a real problem, but Rykers are selling faster then they can stock them! Go ahead and call a dealer and try to find one.. You'll realize quick this video is all about clicks and views.
Where did you get the idea that the Ryker was an off road vehicle. It is not. Street only. I have had a Ryker 600 for a couple years now, and while there have been a couple of issues, they were fixed under warranty. I now have 22,000 miles on it, and it has been a blast to ride. It is not a sport machine either. I use mine just for cruising rural country roads.
After buying a defective brand new Can Am ATV, and repeatedly being told "it needs to warm up, or you have bad gas", when it was probably the fuel pump that was faulty, I will never buy another Can Am ATV. I was interested in a Ryker, but felt they were junky and even the newer used ones seemed to have some issues. After my ATV experience I do not feel that Can Am stands behind their products, and the customer service at the dealership was AWEFUL!
Sorry to hear about that, I’ve got a Can Am ATV and it’s done nothing but continually impress me with its reliability and performance, and the dealership was fantastic. I wouldn’t throw in the towel on the brand over a bad dealer
@@loganbaileysfunwithtrains606 Funny you said that... So I read about Honda ATVs having some DCT issues, and I test road one that was practically new and traded in with 3 miles on it, and low and behold it def had some funky transmission issues going on... Anyway, after researching further, it appears the Honda DCT issue is pretty widespread and pretty bad if it does affect your ATV so I went on the hunt for a new Can Am. Found a MUCH MUCH better Can Am dealership, a bit further away, but my buying experience was excellent. I just randomly popped in there one day while I was in the area and they had a brand new 2023 570 XT, ended up scooping that right up!! (I didn't know at the time it was going to be one of the last ones made). I test drove this one before signing anything, and thankfully so far it seems to be running beautifully! The 570 is also WAY better than the 450 I had, especially in the snow!
@@bettysmith4527 nice hearing you had a better experience, and I also have a 570 Can Am it’s just the DPS base model I’ve not taken mine out into the snow but for all the rugged terrain I’ve taken mine over it’s done the job fantastically. Recently helped the fire department shuttle supplies up to a brush fire and because I was aiding the department I was given authorization to use my Can Am on the highway and to go as fast as I safely felt I could go, I really got to stretch it’s legs the speed said 75 the speed rate on the dash said 70 so, those 570s can haul butt as well.
I’ve watched hundreds of videos about Can-Am Rykers, and I’ve never heard of most of these. I do agree about the accessories ripoff. It also is annoying that to get the black rims on a Rally costs $700. Ridiculous. You should be able to order either. And yes, I’m still buying a Ryker.
Phonetically it is Rez-iv-wor not Rez-iv-woyer. Sounds like you like to watch people put in antifreeze. If you don't like it why keep it. Alot of what you talk about won't happen.
This is a very bad review IMO. Bought my 2022 in September. No VSS code, no nothing. Love my ride and ride it everyday!. Not mechanically inclined and have added ALOT of mods myself and the oil change is simple (15 minutes) Buy you a Ryker and have a blast!!!!!
Hey bub…. The Ryker is not a side by side. It can be a 2up if you buy a backseat for it. None of the Ryker models come factory with the passenger seat even the most expensive version the Ryker rally the seat is optional not to mention it cost around 300-350.
Good points to make. Too bad I already own one. I'm stuck with it now and have now more funds to change, improve and afford different ride! Everyone seems to be upgrading to Ryker Spyders. I can't afford them.
I bought a brand new '22 Ryker Sport and the VSS alarm hit me a week later. I have just over 1500 miles on it and that alarm has happened around 10 times. Add that to the multiple recalls and I've had no consistent riding time without issues. It's been in the shop now for a week for a fuel pump recall. I'll probably sell the damn thing next year.
I have an original 2019 Can-Am Ryker and I’ve never had any of these problems and it’s running great. All I do is do all changes in regular maintenance. I also have almost 13,000 miles on it. The vss code happens only if you throttle and brake at the same time.
Can’t stand videos that tell you what not to buy because it doesn’t suit them. Just get something you like and post about that but don’t tell me what not to buy 🙄
I really hope people will do there own research on the Can Am Ryker. As with any vehicle, there's bound to be issues and recalls. The points this guy(computer voice) lists have been complained about in the forums. But think of how many of us owners who are happy with the bike and don't post anything. I'm getting close to 20k km on my 2020 and have had no issues. If you want a drive like a two wheeled motorcycle, it's not for you. If you want to feel the thrill of the open road, grab a Ryker. If you want the comfort of a caged vehicle, but the openness of a motorcycle, get the Spyder.
Nothing shocking about mine. I traded a Kawasaki Versys GT 1000 for mine which was completely 100% reliable over the 7 yrs I owned it, but even on that, parts started to show rust and needed regular maintenance and as I see it , as long as my Ryker sport is anything like as reliable as my Versys was (and, so far, so good) then, I'll be as happy as Larry 😊😊😊 Feeling smug
Live in scotland. So got plenty of rain..ryker only 1 year old but already noticed rust...but i absolutely love my can am ryker..riden quadbikes for many years ...but my can am ryker blows them all away....
My main concern is the cvt transmission. That said, it shouldnt be as hard or as expensive to deal with as a car would. I suggest having AAA gold card before going on a long trip. 500 miles of towing should things go bad. I am curious though as to how long we should expect this type of transmission to realistically last.
Can you do a review on vehicles with their issues so we can’t drive and walk to work? Everything has problems. Just have to deal with it and work around it. And repair it and that goes for motorcycles, cars trucks, Home, etc. etc..
This is a bad video. You seem to lack much knowledge about anything mechanical. The CVT for example. Take a look at how long they have been around in the snowmobile, and atv industry. They take a lot of abuse, they are simple and efficient. A very effective way to cut the overall cost and complexity of the vehicle.

A little heat is not an issue, you cant ride with shorts on some cruisers cause you’ll literally burn your legs!
Motorcycles put off heat all the time. 150 degrees is nothing.
They put ACV T in it because it's an automatic transmission that's the reason why all automatic scooters or bikes have cbt
After watching several videos, not considering can-am. May be Honda neowing in 2024? Time will tell.
Hey bub…. The Ryker is not a side by side. It can be a 2up if you buy a backseat for it. None of the Ryker models come factory with the passenger seat even the most expensive version the Ryker rally the seat is optional not to mention it cost around 300-350.
Oh one more thing… he forgot to mention the traction issue when snowplowing..
Good points to make. Too bad I already own one. I'm stuck with it now and have now more funds to change, improve and afford different ride! Everyone seems to be upgrading to Ryker Spyders. I can't afford them.
Why did you suddenly start talking about the Can-Am outlander 570 maintenance?
@Motor Ryker Can-am created a great product. I have had no issues over 2 years. Great price. Lots of fun.
Thanks for sharing your positive experience 👍
I dunno man...Maybe when i'm older i'll go to three wheels.
Gas mileage is an abysmal joke. My Goldwing F6B has 1832cc from 6 cylinders and gets 42-44 MPG.
10 reasons why not to watch this channel:
I bought a brand new '22 Ryker Sport and the VSS alarm hit me a week later. I have just over 1500 miles on it and that alarm has happened around 10 times. Add that to the multiple recalls and I've had no consistent riding time without issues. It's been in the shop now for a week for a fuel pump recall. I'll probably sell the damn thing next year.
Thank you for sharing your experience. It's important for others to know about potential issues with certain models.
I have an original 2019 Can-Am Ryker and I’ve never had any of these problems and it’s running great. All I do is do all changes in regular maintenance. I also have almost 13,000 miles on it. The vss code happens only if you throttle and brake at the same time.
How's a 3hr ride on one
@@ulisesmedrano3382 good. Best seat in the game
Also I get 33 to 36 mpg depending on driving style.
I owned a 2019 and put 10k miles on it with no issues. Looking to buy another one soon.
Haven't had any problems. Except the actual riding at first. It's not like a bike. And not like a car. Kind of both. Not . 😂
my name is Ryker
When did a ryker become a offroad vehicle?
Yeah dude your so far left
I cant see buying one for off road. I am debating one to ride to work.
Can’t stand videos that tell you what not to buy because it doesn’t suit them. Just get something you like and post about that but don’t tell me what not to buy 🙄
Don't tell me what to post 🫡
What's a "reservoyer"?
It looks up skirts so you don't have to! 😂
With all those issues, why isn’t the manufacturer addressing some of these issues? Thanks for the video.
It goes off road?
I have a 2022 vanderhall and if I drive 55 to 60 I get 43 mpg.
Ryker owner for 2 years! Not 1 issue. Love Love my Ryker. Not a true video. Not everyone experience these issues!! 👎👎
Thank you for your video. I'll be buying a Goldwing trike now. Considering the cost of these vehicles, I want no problems.. Ever.
the coolant reservoyer
Live in scotland. So got plenty of rain..ryker only 1 year old but already noticed rust...but i absolutely love my can am ryker..riden quadbikes for many years ...but my can am ryker blows them all away....
The rust gives your Ryker some rugged character, just like Scotland's landscapes!
Lol..thanks true
What's a reservoyer?
Bro is that on 2022 as well?
So....do you like the Ryker or not? you seem to go back and forth on the issue?
We Love All Motorcycles... Just giving both sides of the story... Positives and Negatives ...
My main concern is the cvt transmission. That said, it shouldnt be as hard or as expensive to deal with as a car would. I suggest having AAA gold card before going on a long trip. 500 miles of towing should things go bad. I am curious though as to how long we should expect this type of transmission to realistically last.
The CVT transmission might just be the unsung hero of the car world, quietly doing its job without much fuss.
Can you do a review on vehicles with their issues so we can’t drive and walk to work? Everything has problems. Just have to deal with it and work around it. And repair it and that goes for motorcycles, cars trucks, Home, etc. etc..
I've never heard anyone say reservoir like that
What is a fun writing machine?
This is a bad video. You seem to lack much knowledge about anything mechanical. The CVT for example. Take a look at how long they have been around in the snowmobile, and atv industry. They take a lot of abuse, they are simple and efficient. A very effective way to cut the overall cost and complexity of the vehicle.
3 years of owning a ryker 600 and wife has not had any of these issues :P
Was told I'd have to pay $180 out of pocket for towing to get my Ryker to the dealer for the handlebar bolt recall.
Wow that Crazy.... Sorry to hear that
They're good but issues do
Trudeau! No thanks! I will buy from Japan since USA does not produce a product. Their bikes are awesome. Super reliable.
I think they may be Canadian.
Ow not anymore now 😢 i really like it but now i know about the issues no thanks 😒
