I installed two of them today. One tip is to position it to the inside of your thigh. Also, make sure the tube between the linkage is tightened. SO not to cause a rattle. Simply turn the ends together and squeeze the shaft inbetween.
Fed up with fumbling around for the shifter on my Ryker 900 I ordered my Jockey Shifter kit from Slingmods on June 10th. Got to me here in Canada via Fedex on the 16th and I installed it on the 19th. Installation is a breeze, the hardest part being getting the side panels off the trike without breaking anything. Shifter works great, looks good too! Thanks Slingmods, you knocked it out of the park with this one!
How did you get the small fascia panel to move??? I can't find whayever the guy in the video did to loosen the panel. They know more than i do and don't explain this well.
@@patriciafautsch432 I followed what he does exactly and it worked for me although getting the fascia panel to move so I could reach the lower push pin was a little tough. I thought I was going to break something.
@@annlee7061 This is the case for the Ryker, Spyder & Slingshot. They're all niche vehicles and there isn't enough market demand for most items to move towards high volume casting of parts. This has been the case with Slingshot parts for 6 years now and will most likely be the case for Ryker and Spyder parts moving forward. We're just happy that mfg's are stepping up to make parts for these wonderful machines. Many other bikes get completely ignored in the aftermarket segment. Example: Vanderhall
I wish, someday SlingMods would come up with a handle bar mounted brake system accessory , which is so common in Maxi scooters but strangely enough missing from the Ryker and Spyder line-up! I strongly believe that having a handle bar mounted brake system would definitely increase Ryker's / Spyder's appeal to many new buyers.
We would love to see that as well for the Ryker. ISCI sells them for the Spyder.. they're spendy.. but worth a look if it's something you want or need.
I think the correct name for this shifter is suicide shifter. Jockey shifter should be behind the leg not the front of the leg. But then again we are talking real old school. Still I think is real cool.
@@bradleywilliams9697 it’s called a suicide shifter because you have to take your hand off the handlebars to shift. It can be dangerous. How is this a suicide shifter? A. It’s not a shifter. B. There is no risk because there is no need to use this when riding. Calling something like this a suicide shifter is kind of dumb and over dramatic.
Suicide shifters got there name in the 50s. When choppers were being built they chopped everything they could to save weight. One of the first things to go were the brakes. Next was a foot clutch was added along with a shifter off the trans. behind the leg. This was inherently dangerous due to the fact at a stop up or down hill you couldn’t stop. One foot on clutch the other on the ground for balance. And no way to stop. Hence the name suicide shift.
What year is this ryker?? My 2021 rally 900 has different panels than these on your bike, i don't have the small panel. Any ideas on how to remove the bigger panel on mine?
Hello Patricia, this is a 2019 "non rally" model. but the panels should be relatively similar on all bikes. I dug through our video archive and tried to find a video of removing the lower rocker panel on our Rally model.. but was unable to find one unfortunately. You may also consider referencing your owners manual to see if there is any additional information that can assist you. I'm sorry I could not be more help on this one.
Hello, all of our parts are aftermarket. We're not affiliated with Can-Am or BRP in anyway so regretfully I'm unable to answer any warranty questions. If you're concerned about warranty issues.. it's probably best to contact you local dealer.
Hello DSM, we're not affiliated with BRP/Can-Am so I'm unable to answer that question. Every dealer is different about aftermarket parts. We sell many Can-Am dealers our parts and they install them for customers. Other dealers frown upon it. You'd have to contact your local dealer if that's a concern of yours.
I mean this is a product I have been looking for, but I think the price is too high and the style of this product reminds me of using a riding lawnmower, maybe if there was a plastic covering for the shifter to make it look more sporty I probaly would buy it and might still buy just becuz it looks more convenient to use.
Hello Denver, I wish we did as we get a lot of good people asking.. but we're simply an online retailer at this time and do not perform customer installs. Our installation videos are often used as an aide for installation shops to save customers money on labor. Make sure you send whoever does your installs the video links to save yourself some coin. @@VinCode17 No, I didn't. When I went to inspect and ride the Ryker I noticed something was off about the rear of the bike, like it had been hit. When I asked the guy about it, he told me that it came like that when he bought it. Then he was trying to pressure me into buying it that day, instead of the next day, which we had agreed. Some people prefer it Sami. Shifting doesn't occur often on the Ryker and the shifting angle is difficult for some with bad hips, etc. If enough people request a mod.. we make it happen for them. Thanks for watching.
Some of us have short legs and can't reach the standard shifter. I have a 25 inch inseam. This will keep me from the contortion of reaching down with my left hand and taking my eyes off of what's going on around me.

Hey Martin, I'm sure you're aware that some Ryker riders are disabled. So while it may seem ridiculous to you, it's a game changer for them. We're also working on a hand brake for those disabled riders. Many of which are our beloved veterans.
