    I bought my bike 2 months ago and taught myself how to ride. It's incredibly easy and I got the freeway and drove an hour home from the dealership. If you can't pass this coarse you don't belong on a motorcycle of any kind. It's easier than driving a car tbh. Luckily here in Cali you don't need to take this coarse but it does help get a discount on your insurance.

    On the seat test was 4 exercises for me. Star/stop after reaching a cone. Avoiding an object after acceleration. Turning inside cones. Maneuvering around cones left to right at almost 90 degrees. Make sure they know its a 3 wheeled motorcycle. I was failed initially until they realized what I meant When I said its a 3 wheeled motorcycle. These machines are new to a lot of highway patrol officer testers especially in the Midwest. I rode mine to the test and they didn't say anything. Also, you can't miss more than five questions on the written portion but you get a of couple chances if you do. Don't take the CANAM course save yourself money and study the free motorcycle handbook every state offers and use common sense.

    • @TheGonewiththewind7
      @TheGonewiththewind7  3 года назад +6

      At least where I took it, the riding portion of the class counted for the riding portion of the DMV test and the classroom portion/test counted for taking the DMV written test. So all I had to do was take a course completion card to the DMV and have my license updated with the endorsements 🤷🏻‍♂️. You don’t HAVE to take the course, but if you are getting a Can-Am I would still recommend it. It teaches proper skills in a controlled environment instead of just learning on the street. There is nothing wrong with learning on your own, but for beginners or brand new riders the course is the better and safer option.

    How do you go over a pothole if you can’t swerve to avoid it?

    • @TheGonewiththewind7
      @TheGonewiththewind7  3 года назад +1

      In my opinion (always best to consult an MSF instructor as well), I try to keep the hole between two tires if possible (left front and rear or right front and rear) so that way one tire is not taking all the blow and/or you can avoid the hole entirely if it is small enough. Other than that, it is best to practice situational awareness (scanning near and far, left/right) to avoid finding yourself in those situations. When it comes to DEEP potholes, it is very hard to successfully run over them without damage to the bike or you. I hope this helps my friend, ride safe!

      Good question! 2 Wheels in the front (like the Can-Ams) are a lot more stable and have way less of a chance of tipping over when going around a corner. 2 Wheels in the back (like a Harley Tri-Glide) are nice looking but have less stability due to only having one wheel in the front. I live in NYC. Would you recommend this type of 3 wheeled motorcycle for the busy NYC streets?

    • @TheGonewiththewind7
      @TheGonewiththewind7  3 года назад

      I think any motorcycle is decent for congested areas like the city (especially NYC). It’s better than a car due to mobility and maneuverability. As far as 3 Wheeled Motocycles, I would suggest the Can-Ams for sure. They give more stability than the one in front and two in rear styles. You also have to weigh the risks in riding these too. You don’t have a “cage” around you like riding in a car. You also have to think “what if someone cuts me off and I have no where to go since the traffic is really congested” or “What if someone tries to beat the light behind me and we are at a dead stop (and doesn’t see that) and someone hits me”? These bikes are very fun to ride but as with any Motorcycle, traffic can get really sketchy when it gets congested and people get irritated. You just have to be safe, wear your gear (A.G.A.T.T) “All Gear All The Time”, and be aware of your surroundings at all times.

      I can only speak for Missouri (you would have to check your local laws in your state). In Missouri, if you have a regular motorcycle license you are fine to ride 3-Wheeled, if you do not have a motorcycle license at all then you have to get a 3-Wheel endorsement. As far as the difference, you are more stable, have better stopping power, you don’t have to worry about falling over or counter steering in turns (I could go on for a bit). I really enjoy my Ryker.

      I mean buy whatever you want. This video was for the Canam course and you knew that when you clicked the video (as it is clearly stated). Thanks for the comment and the click though bud. It helps bump me up in the RUclips algorithm.

    Is there some rational reason the music is so stinking loud?

      Thanks for stopping by. You are actually my first comment about the music. If the music doesn’t appeal to you or you have issues with it, you can always skip or slide past the B-Roll (cinematic sequences). As well, there is also the volume buttons/volume slider on the RUclips website and app itself. Hope this helps and have a great day!

      @@TheGonewiththewind7 Or your editor might check the decibel difference of one scene to the next against the overall average. The music was well chosen just too loud. I watch educational material lightly the first time and had to stop what I was doing so I wouldn't wake or irritate the neighbors.
      Watched the show through to the end and found it took much of the edge off my April class. Thanks for you effort.

      I appreciate the feedback and it is great that it helped ease some concern about the class. I will try and keep track of the decibels. I am a fully independent channel, I do all the videography, editing, and mixing.
