Agreed. He did a great job representing Holosun. And I just picked up their AEMS, which has impressed me more then almost any other optic in recent years.
That SCS is right on time. I’m in the process of making an optic purchase for my Glock. I love that it is made specifically for each manufacturer’s design. Will be waiting for this to hit the market!!! Love the fact I don’t have to change out my recently installed Hi-Viz sights; they are really bright.
Clean with acetone then fill in the lettering with Birchwood Casey "Aluminum Black". The "billboard" is just laser etched bare aluminum and the coloring blackens it perfectly.

You can't close emit this optic and mount it to all the different factory options. Look at where the screws are. They were able to get away with the K footprint, by reducing the distance between the glass, Its the same reason why they didn't do closed emitter on the RMR footprint.
Was really leaning towards the SCS for my Walther PDP compact 4”. I love the look and direct slide mounting, but I’m concerned about its longevity and technology. I’ll others be the Guinea pig with this first generation, and I’ll hold out for the SCS V2. For now I decided to get the 507C - X2 ACSS Vulcan. Not as sexy as the low profile SCS, but has proven technology, and I’m a fan of the acss chevron reticle.
Really cool - while they say "manufacturer replaceable" I bet you'll probably be able to get ahold of the cells at some point. They're most likely using an LCR rechargeable coin cell or possibly a custom lithium ion cell from Panasonic like what Seiko, citizen and other solar watches use
So once the internal battery eventually loses it's capacity to hold a charge and I send it back to Holosun for the battery to be replaced, would I be charged a fee?
I like how thin that new red dot is and I love the fact that it's made for each gun specifically and mounts with no plates and lets you co-witness with the factory sights.. that's all beautiful. HOWEVER, I have a HS510C and I hate the damn solar charging thingy.. after just 2 days of being stored, next time I turn on the reticle it starts flashing.. I've changed the battery twice, still does the same thing. According to the user manual, it says the solar-charged capacitors are drained so regardless of battery life it needs to keep charging via light which I think is stupid.. So if this new "internal battery, solar powered" optic behaves the same way as the HS510C I'd avoid it like the plague..
Holosun's customer service is OUTSTANDING. I've had to send a dot in, and I've needed mounts, screws, etc... And Everytime they've helped me out very quickly.
1. Make sure your battery is in the right way. It’s backwards from what you would think, the battery goes in the tray upside down. 2. I don’t think the solar is supposed to “charge” anything. If it’s flashing after a couple of days it’s 100% your battery or the optic is broken.
@@spirit7503 It's not a one off.. it's a pretty common thing, look it up.. and no, I didn't put the battery in backwards and yes, the solar panel charges a capacitor, if the capacitor is completely discharge the dot will blink on and off to let you know the capacitors need to be recharged via light. If I put it under a lamp for a few hours it works fine. And I know the battery is working because the optic still works.. it just keeps blinking alerting you the capacitor is drained. It'll continue working, it just won't stop blinking/flashing the reticle until it receives light for a few hours.
HS510C has two power modes. Solar and battery. Manual mode only runs off they battery. The solar modes does NOT recharge the CR 2032 battery but runs off the solar panel and does recharge a capacitors on the inside of the optic. Forgive my ignorance but really new to pistole optics. Are the saying that the SCS will fit on any slide cut for an optic without the need for adapter plate? I’m thinking of purchasing a particular slide for a Glock, without the MOS system, and not sure if the SCS will fit?
I wish they made a larger window for the SCS and gave it an RMR footprint. I switched from Holosun to Trijicon RMR and SRO and never looked back. Holosun is great don't get me wrong. The big difference for me was the emitter for the RD. Just seemed like better quality but that's just my opinion.
I've bought a ton of Holosun optics. I feel like it should be, "buy 9 get the 10th free". Ask Holosun to send me a nice closed emitter for my 19x, lol.
I think with Holosun doing this rds that direct mounts to the gun you carry is bit of a look into the future. I think eventually (while away from that) the rds will just be part of the slide. No plates or direct mount but actually part of it.
The dual brightness for the flashlight seems like a decent step forward but the whole "programming" side of it is very "choose your mission" and would make more sense if it was IR/Visible. Realistically you might not have the opportunity to change before or during use and you'll end up with the wrong illumination. I think a better way to handle it without adding too much complexity would be to differentiate the left and right buttons to different roles. As an example, activate with right index finger to turn on 500 and activate with left thumb to turn on 1000, then maybe make the "press them both" reverse which side does what. Be a good idea with a rifle light, too. Make a pressure pad with two buttons, one does low and one does high. A lot of people are running multi button setups anyway if they use a light and laser, or a PEQ or something, but for those of us without NV or lasers we have ample rail space for options that may be more beneficial to the everyman.
Sounds like the SCS is only going to be produced for Glock, Sig, H&K, and IWI at first. I imagine you can place it on any pistol that has the right footprint, but it’s not going to match the slide like they are intended to.
I haave a 598T on my RUGER 57 pistol - and an AEMS on my late 2021 RUGER PC chassis carbine. The AEMS is the best carbine circle/dot sight currently on the market. (IMHO)
I know it was stated that the EPS Carry is a 407k, will that fit on a 407c? I’m looking to have my Glock 45 milled for a 407c and wanting to see if this optic will fit
So will both of the smaller closed dots fit the 365XL right out of box or No? And will the smallest one fit the FN 502 tactical or the smaller enclosed dot? My concern is the wait because the FN 502 is a .22 LR
I’ve been excited for the SCS since they teased the prototype at a previous SHOT show. Also, I wish they would use a sort of motion charging tech like I have in my watch. Totally different, but conceptually running the optic off of the motion of the wearer in conjunction with a solar panel seems super cool to me.
Does the Holosun eps carry fit on a hellcat pro and can you co witness with the sights in the gun? I heard you can because the eps carry sits lower but haven't seen any video on it yet
When he says "milled for individual guns" how does that work when I purchase an SCS? So it'd be a "customized" item and I just tell the seller (maybe directly from holosun only?) what my pistol is and have it milled? I only saw MOS pattern model on their website, but I wanted it to mount onto my RMR slide, how will it work out?
I think it's designed for different modular systems. So the glock MOS system it will direct mount without an adapter plate, same for the other supported systems.
I just got the scs for my Glock 40. Like it however don't like the micro button. It is hard to push with cold hands or gloves, however you shouldn't need to push it. Great optic though.
With the SCS regarding Law Enforcement use, how do the sensors interact with flashing vehicle lights? If the reticle changes that quickly to adjust to ambient and direct lighting, does standing next to a patrol unit in the dark with the emergency lights activated affect the reticle?
Holosun is missing out on the Sig P320 market by not having a red dot sight with the Delta Point Pro footprint. The M17/18 only has 2 avail red dots right now, Eotech has saw the chance to get into that market and has a sight coming out in May. I checked with Holosun and was told they had no plans for developing that product. Their loss.
I have a 509 T and a 507 C and I love them both but If they Manage to make a SCS closed emitter version that would probably be the the ultimate pistol optic. Holosun! Are you listening?
The eps models need to have the PA acss reticle…It’s just as easy to pick up as a big dot, the outer ring helps with alignment, and the chevron allows you to shoot long range…there’s literally only one downside and that’s battery life, but the life is so long that it’s negligible. LISTEN TO THE PEOPLE AND TAKE MY CASH!
I am really new to the red dot optic scene, in fact I don't have one and have never used one. I am very impressed with the low profile and the ability to use the iron sites as well with the mounted optic and of course the titanium housing. I am wondering about the SCS , is it enclosed or not? My very limited understanding about these optics is that an enclosed red dot optic is better protected from the elements and gunk with concealed (and open carry I suppose); I am concerned about water, moisture, humidity, dust, etc. The review Sage Dynamics did on the SCS; drops, charged slide against stationary post, the guy was pretty brutal with the SCS; impressive. Also, when is the red optic going to be available? I have only seen the green one out right now. I am also wondering, will there be any future SCS version that will allow changing the MOA to something other than just 2?
Purchased an SCS MOS that lasted about 3 weeks, and 50 rounds before it mysteriously stopped working. Shipped it back to Holosun just to find out that their warranty dept is backed up 1-2 weeks+15-20 day turnaround. Should have stuck to the proven RMR.
I wish Holosun would move to the USA, as rumored (are they still considering that?). As for me, I can't even consider anything made I China, at least if there is a decent similar product made in the US (or at least an ally).
I love the presentation. A few things that came to mind in regards to lasers/WMLs. Never use your WML for PID. Pointing a firearm at something, or somebody, could result in an aggravated assault w/deadly weapon charge. Find a quality handheld for PID then transition if need be. Also, the inability to field swap batteries will unfortunately be a no for me. I also believe lasers are for cats. Can they be useful for training purposes? Possibly. Maybe to see if the shooter is flinching. But an empty casing randomly placed in the mag will do the same. And without the added cost. You will become dependent on the laser and the moment you lose it in a shtf scenario, you will crap the bed. Lasers are good for NODs though. I will definitely be grabbing the SCS. I’m holding off on a carry optic until I can put some rounds down range with it when it releases. Hopefully within the next couple of months. Good job Holosun.
believe it or not the smaller 2 moa are more sensitive to movements than a 6 moa; that is why most competition shooters will choose the 6 moa every time because it's more stable. Smaller moa's are more for rifles.
As a competition shooter that is entirely not why. We care about fast, not stable. Larger dot is easier to track shooting fast. Anyone with sufficient skill doesn’t care about that “perceived wobble” in a smaller dot.
@@sethrich5998 which is basically in the same line I mentioned, just different wording. I know I shoot carry optic uspsa; coming from production iron sight, naturally I thought the smaller moa would be better but after trying both; I prefer the bigger dot.

Shipped it back to Holosun just to find out that their warranty dept is backed up 1-2 weeks+15-20 day turnaround. Should have stuck to the proven RMR.
Are the Techs working on astigmatism so we can adjust the dot our self so we acutely see a dot?
I’d recommend seeing an optometrist to get your astigmatism corrected. 😉
I wish Holosun would move to the USA, as rumored (are they still considering that?). As for me, I can't even consider anything made I China, at least if there is a decent similar product made in the US (or at least an ally).
I bet your phone and lots of things in your house is made in China
they do have a facility here in commiefornia. i know for a fact they do assembly there, but parts come from overseas
I’m the same way. I buy less from China and that means that Amazon has received less business from me.
So you are a commie that hates the very concept of free market and the definition of capitalism, nice.

No sir, he's clearly a capitalist with ethics.
On the other hand, you sir are clearly a traitor.
Do they make a Holosun RDS for the m&p compact gen 1?
Will they have a model for the XDM elite?
I have the same question
I'm very interested in the SCS, but it appears to sit so far forward toward the extractor.
Your mounting plate, unless direct milled, will sit equally as close to the extractor. Direct mill will have the optic sit even closer.
"Spot" On!!! Very good products.
So does this mean that the glock mos will eliminate the need to get my slide milled since this won't need any plates?
So will the bigger EPS fit on my 365XL? Or just the EPS Carry?
Thank you, learned a lot!
The foot print word always got me
Request: - Make it available with the ACSS Vulcan reticle
holo is the new king. they are overall better at what they make compared to others of the same
Hopefully the EPS has a true Shield footprint now.
same pitch as the other video I saw him in. I wonder how this works with the suppressor height sights
I love Holosun optics. Designing them to be gun specific is cool... unless I sell my gun!
Still new to optics, do these sit in the footprint of an rmr or they a different cut?
Which one will be the best for my 43x mos
I like the SCS. Is that made for the G40 also? It’s very hard to find aftermarket anything for the G40.
believe it or not the smaller 2 moa are more sensitive to movements than a 6 moa; that is why most competition shooters will choose the 6 moa every time because it's more stable. Smaller moa's are more for rifles.
As a competition shooter that is entirely not why. We care about fast, not stable. Larger dot is easier to track shooting fast. Anyone with sufficient skill doesn’t care about that “perceived wobble” in a smaller dot.
@@sethrich5998 I agree with you.
@@sethrich5998 which is basically in the same line I mentioned, just different wording. I know I shoot carry optic uspsa; coming from production iron sight, naturally I thought the smaller moa would be better but after trying both; I prefer the bigger dot.
@@alexmar1382 I prefer using a vortex UH-1 on my comp pist. There is added weight but the benefits of a Holographic cannot be ignored.
So this guy says eps carry has a 6 MoA dot, website still says 2 MOA dot. Which is it? Also the reticle on EPS also 6 or 2 MOA dot or the dual reticle as did the 507?
