I'm with you on this. However, during regular training, the dust and debris trapped inside the RDS is inconvenient to remove. I'll try the EPS, which should address this issue.
The way you explained the differences is brilliant. So organized, detailed and informative. This is the best product review I've seen and I'm subscribing to learn more from you in your future videos. 👌👍
407k. Open emitter has worked for me for a very long time. If you need a closed emitter for outdoors stuff like yardwork that makes sense. Also some trades workers like ironworkers and woodworkers will have an easier time heeling the emitter from getting clogged up. The rest of us could save the money and use an open emitter. The 6 MOA dot is perfect on a slimline. Easier to pick up and self defense distances are very short meaning we dont need the precision of a smaller dot. Generally I think the 407k makes sense for most of us, in whatever color works better for their eyes.
One thing I'd say about open emitter vs closed is if you carry concealed you may find that your shed skin (if you don't wear an undershirt), or your clothing's fuzz from rubbing against holster/pistol, accumulate. I'd think most folks check their optics regularly and note whether they're obscured at the start & end of each day, but for forgetful or no-maintenance folks it may be a real thing to consider.
Best comparison video I've seen in a while. Side by side comparison is extremely helpful. Information in both visual and audio formats is nice. No fluff or long intros while still being fully comprehensive
I am looking to buy my first micro red dot and was looking on RUclips for some reviews. This has been the best review out of all of them and has given me the information I needed to better make my decision. Thank you.
I recently got my very first pistol dot, and went with the EPS Carry 2MOA non-solar. I didn't want a lot of clutter to look through, I heard the solar was more of a gimmick than anything, and the 2MOA was in stock, where the 6MOA was not! Thanks for the detailed info and keep up the great work!
Great video. Only thing I would add is that the Solar/MRS option on the EPS Carry includes auto-adjusting brightness which you don't get on the other models. That was the only reason I bought the MRS over just a 2 MOA dot only version. I upgraded from the 507K first gen with the big buttons to get the enclosed emitter for my 365XL.
@@rodneyscott3337 a proper iron sight doesn't "pop off"......a red dot works on a rifle...totally absurd on a handgun aiming for a man size target out to 25 yards....does NOTHING. A range toy.
I waited roughly 6 months for me to acquire both EPS Green MRS variants. They have been great so far on my FNS 9C and Five-seveN. Definitely worth the peace of mind and it has been great in giving family members confidence while shooting.
As a new shooter & gun owner I was to say thank you for this video. Was torn on which Optic I wanted for my 1st. Not only did this video help I took the tips with me when I went to the LGR. Met a couple of experienced guys who all had different Optics & they were kind enough to let me shoot a few rounds to see. The 407 was my pick. Simple & budget friendly. Love the Gun Community
I have 407k red dot, 507C green dot and the EPS carry in red. Had the EPS for 4 months now and it’s been great. Ran them in red dot class with close to 800 rds, flawless performance. The 407k and 507c have been beaten and abused and still reliable. Took classes in rain and snowy conditions with no problems. Great review video, simple and informative!
Very informative and no miss on the details. Personally like visual aids, they just make sense. Thanks again and looking forward to more great content.
We just replaced the 507k on my wife’s G48 with the ACSS Vulcan dot version of the same hardware. It really is a fantastic match for these slimline optics - it effectively makes the window 3 times bigger.
An x-factor for me choosing between the 407K & 507K is the 6 MOA dot is MUCH more refined with zero blooming compared to the 507K in dot only setup. Everyone's eyes are different but for me the difference is drastic.
I wanted a 407k but ended up with a 507k due to stock issues, and the store offering me a great deal on it. At first I was convinced that I would only end up using the dot, but started out using the circle-dot to train the muscle memory in finding the dot. It's a year later and I'm still using the circle-dot. I find it's a great compromise between rapidly finding the sight, and accurate shot-placement. Personally I don't find it too busy at all, although I do think that the ACSS Vulcan is probably better. One last thing to mention is that a larger dot (or circle-dot) is much easier to find in challenging lighting conditions, such as shooting from the inside of a building into a bright sunshine environment.
Honestly, I have the solar panel on my 507c, and it feels pretty much like a gimmick. I don't think it takes anything *away*, but, personally, I would not pay extra for it. The 'auto brightness adjust' would've been the biggest advantage of it, but, having used it, it's not hard to trip the optic up if you're in a darker space aiming at something in direct light, so that feature's not very useful either. Edited: Because I'm an idiot and meant the other way around. The optic thinks it's in the dark and tones down the dot, but the target is brightly lit so the dot vanishes.
Yep. I wish you could adjust the auto brightness. It's default adjustment is sometimes too dim. I'm okay with it shooting from shaded to sunlight areas now since I have the muscle memory to find the dot, but it was almost unusable the first couple of times. The fact that you need to hold in the + button for three seconds to switch to manual brightness is also not ideal. I would have preferred a quick double press or something.
I have quite a few Holosun pistol optics. The solar panel is basically a "security blanket" to make the user feel protected. I don't choose the solar panel backup option, it's just there when you choose the 507/multi-reticle version. If you change your battery annually, like on your birthday, it seems pretty irrelevant. I'd say, choose a Holosun based on the other aspects, and not on the solar-or-not question. I wonder if there are field reports of the solar panel saving someone's bacon in a competition or defensive/LEO/military encounter. Also I agree the auto-adjust is problematic, I always disable it. When I do dryfire practice in my basement, which is not floodlit, the dot brightness would change depending on where I am in the basement, how close to an overhead light, etc. That's just an annoying distraction to me. Maybe in powerful daylight situations, going from open sky to under tree canopy, it is more useful, but I didn't trust enough in the performance in dry fire to try it.
In auto mode the 507C is being powered by both the solar cell and the battery. The default setting is 7 so the dot brightens if it's collecting more ambient light but automatically switches to the battery if the dot (gun) is moved into a low light/ no light space. The intensity of the dot drops too. Turn the lights back on and it's back to the solar cell and a brightness of 7. Most Holosuns have a low battery warning where the reticle slowly blinks and if it dies the solar cell can still power the dot IF there is ambient light. One of the better and unique features of the red dot is that they're so bright and easy to see in the dark especially if it's cranked up and can't be washed out by the weapon light on your HD gun! 😁
I just got pretty lucky. Having just received my first GSSF coupon, I searched for stores that would honor one. It was only 15 miles away. Had to join the buyers club for $33. Bought my 48MOS for $60 less then GSSF pricing and just today went back picked up the 407k for $180. It was the last one they had and they didn’t know when more would arrive.
Thanks. Thats a lot. Kind of glad my came with a dot so I didn't have to make a decision for my first dot . When I get better with all this maybe I will upgrade but I'll have to see.
Nice video. Was on the fence with the three you discussed and the Romeo X Compact for a new Fdez Werx 365XXL slide. Went with the 407k green 6moa. Just makes sense for the money. Thanks for the code! Saving money and supporting local channels is always a plus.
@@superrad1659 interesting that you ask me this question since I’ve taken an 8 hour RDS pistol class using my 507k on my G19 gen4, and I recently just got my G19x slide milled with the 507 ACSS back, I am about to take a defensive pistol class With it…. For now, the 507 ACSS is pretty darn nice but the battery life is less of using the full reticle (20,000 hours I think). 507k is decent especially on a smaller frame handgun with the reticle options, although it requires practice to be proficient in quick RDS acquisition. Depends on your application. When I’m back from taking this class in 2 weeks, I’ll let you know.
I went with 407k's because a) I have at least two handguns to equip so budget does factor in, b) they've been perfectly "fine" for the use cases of concealed carry and nightstand gun, and c) I want to see closed emitter optics mature a bit more before buying in. I acknowledge that closed emitter optics are the future of pistol red dots, but I'm not seeing the Comp M3 of the pistol sight world just yet in terms of price, durability, and reliability.
Interesting to see Sig go closed emitter with MRS circle-dot options for their new M17 red dot; shows the popularity/ viability of the MRS system and that Holosun is unsurprisingly once again ahead of the curve kinda like Primary Arms with anything ACSS
I just picked up a EPS carry with a green circle and dot with the solar panel. I have been carrying a Hex Wasp which is an open emitted with a 2 MOA dot. I like the small smaller MOA dot for longer distance shots, but it can be harder to find. That is why I went with the 32 MOA circle option. The Hex Wasp is always on and it has an auto brightness feature. It responds pretty quickly so dot brightness hasn’t really been an issue. I chose green since the eye can pick it up much more easily than red. Green is in the middle of the visible range while red is at the bottom. My vision is starting to decline as I’m getting older so better to get the more visible sight now. I have had issues with dust and lint getting on the inside of the reticle so I went with the EPS. I haven’t had issues with anything blocking the emitter, but the glass has gotten dirty. I see myself carrying this setup for the foreseeable future so spending a little more made sense for me.
Most competitive shooters I have talked to seem to like the 6 moa dot. Some people recommend getting the 2 moa dot and bloom it to whatever size from there. John at ASP likes to use the 32 moa circle without dot. So it boils down to personal preference or what you intend on using it for. I personally, liked the Holosun 407CO which had the 8 moa circle. It is perfect for me. But I can not find that reticle in any other optic and I think they may have even stopped manufacturing them? Which is too bad, because I would love that reticle in a 507k. Thank you for your time and all your work you put into these videos.
I'd say it depends on your mindset (speed >> accuracy, or accuracy >> speed). I've competed for a couple of years now, have experimented with Holosun multi-reticles -- 2moa dot only, 32moa ring only, and dot + ring. I don't like dot + ring for anything. For Steel Challenge, the ring only is good because targets are generous IMO. In USPSA, I don't find the ring useful for head A zone shots, not precise enough for my eyes/mind. For general precision I prefer the 2moa. I'd also say the EPS/EPS Carry have a crisper view and sharper/rounder reticle dot. I have the full size EPS in 2moa dot and it's perfect. Don't miss the ring at all.
My first rds was/is the 507k for my P365XL. I started using the circle & dot reticle and eventually gone to just dot. This made me choose the 407k for my G48mos. I probably won’t‘ upgrade to the closed emitter of an EPS Carry unless one of my existing Holosuns fail on me.
In my mind the only red dots to get use the ACSS Vulcan reticle. It doesn't matter where you look into the glass, the overlarge reticle orients you instantly. It doesn't matter how hard you train, a smart reticle works in every circumstance.
To add a bit more here: Green reticles are awesome for specialty use like if you have astigmatism. (Turn the brightness down and cowitness it with BUIS.) The main downside to green is battery life is a lot lesser in general. Though, ActiveSelfProtection had some good advice of "change your optic batteries every time you change your smoke alarm batteries" and I agree for the most part. For general purpose, red dots work fine for the majority of people. The circle only reticle is especially good if you plan to use shotguns of any sort, as you can use the circle to pattern buckshot and find one that stays inside the circle at whatever distance. Patterning buck is the shotgun equivalent to compensating for your offset on a carbine. Circle reticles like Holosun, EOTech, etc are very useful for this (as are plain ghost ring sights). I personally consider them to be essential on any fighting shotgun. Holosun is a good option for those on a budget which is the main selling point of shotguns. It's not difficult at all to buy a Mossberg 500, screw an XS rail on it, and mount a Holosun to it, then stoke it with something like Federal FLITE CONTROL if you're on a tight budget. Although personally I would recommend spending a bit more on your gun and optic, like a 590A1 with an EOtech. Buy once, cry once. But if you're on a tight budget, or if you're looking for your first dot to get over the initial learning curve, a Holosun definitely isn't the worst option out there.
So my first red dot I ever had was the 507K, and it went on my competition firearm. Truth be told, I chose it mainly for the price compared to some other popular optics and it has the side load battery. Aside from that, I didn’t really know anything about red dots. Now that I’ve trained with it and practiced with it quite a bit, I recently got an optic for my every day conceal carry, and I went with the EPS for the reason of the closed emitter. Knowing that I would be carrying every day, I was willing to spend the extra money for an optic that I can easily keep clean and ready in the event I need to use it.
Might I suggest you look into the Holosun 407/507K’s with the ACSS reticle? Primary Arms partners with Holosun and the ACSS is an inverted chevron rather than a dot. 😉
Great breakdown of differences and similarities between the options, very through yet concise. Also I can see it being useful for new users when you explain what they might want to prioritize when making a decision. I'm subscribing and looking forward for catching more of your videos. Keep doing what your are doing!!
This is a big help. Holosun's website isn't very helpful. After your video, I'm leaning toward the 407k in red. Before your video, I wasn't considering the 407k because I assumed the 507k was "better." Now I know it's about reticle choice. Thanks !!
I don't know what holosun page you have visited ,but all that she said ,is described under each optic - and even more technical details then she presented, on the holosun page - the difference being ,she did a video comparing the 3 - all - in one video....sparing you the "difficult" task of opening 3 pages for 3 different products and then just - READ and compare 😁🤷♂ - you can even find the plates to order with every optic according to the gun you have - so i would say that it's even more complete then her video...
this is literally the best video I have ever watched on these optics. The realness of budget vs real world scenarios is exceptional. if you cant choose after this video you're doing it wrong.
I’ve been away from your site for a while, but your earlier video about the differences between the 407K and the 507k influenced my red dot purchase decision. I really preferred the 6 MOA and didn’t see myself using the various options on the 507k. And when you factor the cost differential between the two, the 407k was my obvious choice. So I have two 407s now…the 407k on my Sig Sauer P365X Macro, and the 407c on a Sig P320X Compact, and I’m very happy with my choices. Thanks for your excellent and very helpful videos!
I’ve been at an outdoor range during a light drizzle. A rain drop blocked my RMR’s emitter and I suddenly saw three dots in my window instead of one. Right away I bought an ACRO for my G19 and an EPS Carry for my 43X. It’s not worth having a dot on your pistol if one rain drop forces you to have to use your irons. Closed emitters all the way.
I chose the507K and it does not disappoint!!! Easy sight to acquire the dot. It does what it says, as long as the dot is on the target that bullet will hit! It never loses zero. Very easy to get used to shooting with. An absolutely awesome addition to my Glock43X. Great review!!! Thank you.
I’d love if Holosun made the holy grail of micro dots - 6MOA dot, ACSS outer circle, enclosed emitter with the SCS charging and auto brightness system (@holosun this opinion is objectively correct)
Trijicon isn't even close to comparable to Holosun. I've dropped my 407C X2 on its solar panel, directly on concrete, from about 5 feet, and it's alive and working. Just a minor scratch. Dropped my RMR from 3 feet on the carpet and cracked the glass in the corner. I have the 407C, 507k red, 507k green, and I just picked up the EPS Carry green today. I'll never go back.
I like my green dot, no circle or circle and dot. Red works fine but trying a green dot just found I could pick it up quicker. Now running Holosun 507K's on most of my carry. The EPS Carry is next for my Hellcat Pro this fall after all the summer vacation bills get paid lol
I wish they'd make the EPS with the ACSS Vulcan giant circle. Also. FWIW, the battery finally died on my 507-c GR and the solar didn't keep it on, even in direct sunlight.
Update: if its in the sun and you push a button, it will work until it goes in the shade. This is with the Big Button version, before the trijicon lawsuit.
@@roflchopter11you will get longer battery life after use if you have a light inside your safe that is always on. The shake awake takes a bit to shut off, so when you put it in your safe and the shake awake isn't shut off yet, it will run until shutoff with the solar feature.
Looking to get my first optic for one of my carry guns. Was already looking at the 407K and I think this video just sold me on it. Thank you and great video!
Very informative video! I have the 507 and it’s reticle is very versatile. Here in Canada we can not conceal carry, so it’s range only. That said, the 507 with the 2 moa dot will give a very precise shot. The circle dot reticle gives you both speed & accuracy. The big 32 moa donut gives you a very speedy acquisition to target and the tiny dot (again) very precise. The Mozambique drill (failure drill as you kids call it) is a great drill to test out both speed and accuracy. I can see with the 6moa dot, it would be fine for quicker target acquisition. But I can only imagine that in Canada.
I have been using the 507 K Green dot for two years now as well as the 507 c green dot. I’ve decided to get the EPS and EPS carry in the 6 MOA green. Looking forward to the closed emitter for more training classes. 😜
I have found the circle is pretty nice. the circle dot is too small though, the dot also works great. I love the 509t as well. The Circle is like the old pistol in HALO.
The 20 MOA ring in the 507 Comp is great for Steel Challenge! In the smaller models without that option, the 6 MOA dot would probably be good for me for general use.
I've been using the 507K/Red for years now on both of my 365s. I'm not easy on my gear and after all this time they still hold zero and work great. I couldn't be happier. I'd like to have the enclosed emitter but the cost to upgrade just for the enclosed part is crazy talk.
How often did you feel the need to check and clean it? Did you notice distortion when you didn’t? Curious if going with the closed emitter is worth it.
@@gunmonkey6545 I basically check it every day when I take it off and put it in the safe. I keep a can of compressed air by the safe, and about every other week, I use it to spray any debris out and a cloth to wipe any smudges. Distortion? It’s like any glass if there’s stuff on it then you have trouble seeing through it. Like I said it the original post if I was buying new I personally would get the enclosed emitter but not as an upgrade only.
I've had both optics mounted on different guns for a while and never noticed how much less distortion/magnification the EPS carry has than the 507k until I went today and did some drills on a really sunny/bright day. Something about the Sun shining down from the direction of the target made the 507k distortion and slight magnification much more noticeable. Surprised me considering the EPS carry has 2 lenses compared to just the 1 on the 507k.
I have the EPS Carry 6MOA dot, and my wife has the 507k ACSS Vulcan. I felt like the "downside" of the open emitter was offset by the ease of aquiring the ACSS reticle for her as a new shooter learning her first red dot.
I just got the 507k Acss and shot a class with it. Shooting weak hand only it was a huge help finding the dot. I wanted enclosed, but I am glad I went with the ACSS.
@@AFGixxeR88 I would get a 2moa for a larger pistol or an offset rifle dot, as more stable platforms allow for more accuracy. The 6moa is a sweet spot of speed of acquisition on a smaller platform for closer distance in my mind.
The big outside ring on the ACSS Vulcan reticle really helps when learning your presentation at first, and later it helps for awkward positions when conditions aren't ideal. The chevron itself can be used for precision -- top point of the chevron -- or for speed. For speed, just put the whole chevron over where you want to hit. I go back and forth between preferring the 2moa dot and the ACSS Vulcan.
i went enclosed emitter because i have a dirty dusty job where i personally wouldnt trust a open emitter to be reliably functional if i needed it, for me the reduction in opportunities to fail was worth the added cost
If I didn’t already have my 507k, I’d probably go with the eps-c, green, no solar. If I get a chance at a local shop, I do want to try a green dot. I have an astigmatism in my shooting eye that’s pretty bad, I hear green dots lessen the flare. For me the solar thing on a carry gun isn’t worth it. My carry gun is concealed almost all the time, and I buy quality batteries that get changed on my birthday. Now if I was to buy a duty gun, I could totally see getting an optic with a solar panel.
I went with the EPS Carry Compact MRS in Green. I'm partially color blind and green works better for me than red. Often I can not see red as it blends with black and other dark colors. I also run a Nightstick TSM-11G 150-Lumen Rechargeable Tactical Mounted Weapon Light w/Green Laser. I've encountered some issues I'm working through, on the included plate it blocks the stock sights. Looking at a few options, install suppressor height sights, modify the Glock slide to remove the bumps so it will sit flat, or get an after-market plate thinner than the supplied plate. The screws are to long that were included and it impacts the shell ejector mechanism.. I need shorter screws, not sure if I should file down what I have or purchase some additional.
I have 2 507c's in green on a 10mm & 9mm full size pistol. I do really like the multi reticle option of the 507c. I am considering going with the 407k 6moa green dot over a 507k on my carry pistol. I think the 2 moa dot is a bit small & the circle or circle dot may just take up too much of the window on the smaller footprint of the 507k. I am thinking the 6moa dot will be a good compromise. I also have astigmatism to deal with so green seems to appear a bit sharper for me in an optic.
I got a bit tired of blowing out dust and what-not from behind my 507K. Further, I didnt like the prospect of needing to use it in rain or snow and the likely effect on reticle visibility. So I purchased an EPS Carry MRS Green. Be prepared to hunt for it if you want one. Street price is currently about 425.00.
I have a couple of 407ks. One has the red reticle, with green on the other. The only reason I can see for the price difference at this time, is demand. I'm currently seeing the same prices for the EPS-Carry whether red or green. I'm favoring the green dots right now, but that may just be because it's a relatively new concept. That could change as the new wears off. I'm not completely sold on the larger 6 MOA dot since I have astigmatism so even 2 or 3 MOA dots appear larger. I'm not interested in solar, since my optic equipped handguns are stored in a safe. Even if I were to carry one, it would be safely stored in my car while at work, then concealed IWB after, with limited light exposure. I change batteries yearly anyway. Finally, all I want is a dot. The ability to change reticles isn't a plus for me. I can see a pair of EPS-Carry sights in my future, I just need to make a decision on reticle size and color.
Nicely Done! Excellent point about ability to focus on target with the circle/dot option. Didn't think about that, but my eyes aren't what they use to be. Thanks darlin'!
I have 507s and 407s, and they are okay. But I absolutely LOVE my EPS Carry MRS Green! And it has one outstanding feature that the Red version doesn't (which more than makes up for the $$ increase). Because the Green emitter is more energy efficient, Holosun gives us more control over the AUTO Mode. In that mode, you can still adjust what I like to call the "Minimum Brightness" of the reticle. So you can set it to be bright enough to use with a weapon mounted light, and it will still brighten up when you go outside or into a brighter environment. This solves the problem mention @6:52.
Ah, I think you misunderstood what I was talking about at 6:52. I was specifically talking about the reticle staying on without the battery in it, relying solely on the solar 🙂👍🏻
I prefer a 6 MOA dot. However, as a dude…. A lot of lint and gunk gets into my open emitter optics when I’m carrying. I have an EPS 6MOA and it’s a HUGE quality of life improvement for me. So if you can spend the extra money I’d go closed emitter. That being said, I’m not going out selling all my open emitters either they work just fine.
Rightnow on midway USA the 507k is 15% off and comes with a $40 gift card. Thats what persuaded my decision. Also the 32moa circle and dot is a better view for my astigmatism, compared to a blur i see with a dot only
I just came across your video on the Holosun Iptics. I also subscribed, I purcashed the SCS for my New purchase, Glock 19M Gen 5 MOS 9MM. I'm a retired Police Sergeant with over 41 years. Range Master/ Firearms Instructor TX CHL/LTC Instructor from the very beginning. Great and informative video on the Holosun. im just sold on the 407k for many reasons, the dot is simple and effective for carry and also very affordable. And it just works great for me.
I thought the very same thing. That's probably what I am going with.
@@outbackeddiebeen running the 407k on my EDC rig and I am loving it. you won’t regret it.
Yup, I don't see a reason to pay more honestly.
I'm with you on this. However, during regular training, the dust and debris trapped inside the RDS is inconvenient to remove. I'll try the EPS, which should address this issue.
Astigmatism will make you think other wise… I would love to get a 407 but the dot is so blurry for me that it would hinder rather than help
This was such a solid, quick & concise, technical comparison. No fluff. Bravo.

I have an EPS Carry 6 MOA green on my carry. It's fantastic.

I’m super happy with the EPS carry. I personally like the circle dot for easier pickups, and the solar backup gives me peace of mind
Great video. I love channels that actually put out helpful info, and not just give you a whiz-bang show.
The 407k and 507c have been beaten and abused and still
reliable.
I love that one as well... Now, if they could only put a Chevron in a Slim Line sight, that would be fantastic...
ACSS/Chevron/EPS (carry) would be the most popular package Holosun ever made, absolute dream optic... Assuming it wasnt a $600 sight lol.
An x-factor for me choosing between the 407K & 507K is the 6 MOA dot is MUCH more refined with zero blooming compared to the 507K in dot only setup. Everyone's eyes are different but for me the difference is drastic.
Evaluating options now for my 43X and this video is exactly what I needed. Thank you so much.
Thanks. That cleared up several things for me. Brand new to pistol optics.
EXTREMELY WELL DONE! Thank-you. Influenced by this video, I direct-mounted a HS407K X2 on a narrow EDC pistol and am VERY happy with it!
I’ve had the 507k for a few years now and I love it. It’s size and features are worth the money. But all are great options.
Excellent review. Concise and to the point. Thank you.
Got the 507k and the 507 ACSS reticle and they’re really nice 👍! Keep up the good work.
Which would you recommend for someones 1st experience w/ a pistol RDS? Been comparing them for a few months (research) n cant decide...
I find the 2 moa dot is better because you can lower it down for precise aiming and max out the brightness if you need to see the dot a little easier!
Tessah....probably the most informative video I've ever watched! Kudos!
You are definitely my favorite firearm channel. Everything is very detailed.
In my mind the only red dots to get use the ACSS Vulcan reticle. It doesn't matter where you look into the glass, the overlarge reticle orients you instantly. It doesn't matter how hard you train, a smart reticle works in every circumstance.
But why? If you train enough you’ll see your dot on the center very very very consistently
Great video! I'm leaning on an EPS Carry, green, 6moa on a 2011 pistol.
I love the circle dot reticle on my 20 gauge…circle is a good shot pattern reticle and the middle dot means you can alternate in slugs.
WOW!!! Too bad it’s on the inferior open emitter model.
Huge thank you for making your videos short and digestible. Great content and editing. Keep up the great work!
Thank you so much for the in depth and clear comparison. It has helped me narrow down the choices for my P-10C.
Great great video!! One of the most well explained videos
This is by far the best explanation I've seen. Made my selection way easier.
Glad it helped!
Thank you for the discount code ma’am! I just ordered the Holosun 407k x-2 green dot!
Spot on! (No pun intended)
I chose the507K and it does not disappoint!!! Easy sight to acquire the dot. It does what it says, as long as the dot is on the target that bullet will hit! It never loses zero. Very easy to get used to shooting with. An absolutely awesome addition to my Glock43X.
Great review!!!
Thank you.
Love informative reviews like this. Really leaning towards removing my 507k for the EPS Carry.
I’d love if Holosun made the holy grail of micro dots - 6MOA dot, ACSS outer circle, enclosed emitter with the SCS charging and auto brightness system (@holosun this opinion is objectively correct)
I second this lol. An ACSS-MRS would be kinda cool too. But I'd opt for the 6moa ACSS if it were possible.
Great video. Very informative. I'm leaning towards the 407K as a beginner but not sure if it will fit my Shield Plus.
BEST explanation of multiple videos I've watched. Excellent teaching.
I like my green dot, no circle or circle and dot. Red works fine but trying a green dot just found I could pick it up quicker. Now running Holosun 507K's on most of my carry. The EPS Carry is next for my Hellcat Pro this fall after all the summer vacation bills get paid lol
Replaced my 507K With an EPS Carry Green Dot. I got annoyed at having to clean out the exposed window, but miss having the multi reticle
I just switched from a 407K to the EPS carry Green because of the lint & dirt that collected in the “bucket” of my daily carry sight.
was it a good upgrade??
Yes absolutely! But I have since removed it completely and went back to training with a meprosite.
@@theeverydayguy Do you still use the eps?
@@ssjronin3972 No sir ...I returned it shortly after this video and now I use the Mepro FT Bullseye sight and will never go back to a red dot ever.
@@theeverydayguy thank you, I appreciate you sharing your experiences.
I checked out your husband's channel. Decent! He has a new sub!
I have been using the 507 K Green dot for two years now as well as the 507 c green dot. I’ve decided to get the EPS and EPS carry in the 6 MOA green. Looking forward to the closed emitter for more training classes. 😜
hows the eps??
Thanks 🙏
I've had both optics mounted on different guns for a while and never noticed how much less distortion/magnification the EPS carry has than the 507k until I went today and did some drills on a really sunny/bright day. Something about the Sun shining down from the direction of the target made the 507k distortion and slight magnification much more noticeable. Surprised me considering the EPS carry has 2 lenses compared to just the 1 on the 507k.
Great review! I have a Vortex Viper right now but have been looking at the Holosun options and your video helped a ton! Subbed for more!
Thanks ma'am. I'm getting a 507k
I was very sold on the solar, but seeing what you just said definitely just saved me 100 bucks. Thanks for the review!
507c with the Green ACSS VULCAN reticle.
My next RDS will be closed emitter with the ACSS Vulcan reticle
I have the EPS Carry 6MOA dot, and my wife has the 507k ACSS Vulcan. I felt like the "downside" of the open emitter was offset by the ease of aquiring the ACSS reticle for her as a new shooter learning her first red dot.
I wish I had the ACSS as a first reticle. It's super easy to find the dot with it as a new shooter.
I just got the 507k Acss and shot a class with it. Shooting weak hand only it was a huge help finding the dot. I wanted enclosed, but I am glad I went with the ACSS.
Why did you get the 6moa vs the 2 moa
Was this removed? I watched this video in the morning.
Yep! I clarified in the videos description. There were some errors in the original video that needed addressing 😊👍🏻
Hi, is the window on the EPS carry larger than the 507 and 407K?
@aaronsmith6073 my 507 and EPS glass looks to be identical. Housing is about 1 mm bigger in width and much bigger in length on the EPS.
Great video, really appreciate it! I personally went with the 407K and really, really like it!
very through and good comparisons ,well presented , still deciding so far 407k 6 MOA green dot. Thank You
I went with the EPS Carry with 6 MOA green dot. Love it. It’s on an S&W M&P Shield Plus.
Appreciate the breakdown video. Thanks.
For new edc i suggest 32 circle dot. At 20 feet i bring the gun up and as soon as i see red i let it go. Im on target everytime.
WOW! This was a great breakdown video. Very informative.
Thanks for watching!
Also the 32moa circle and dot is a better view for my astigmatism, compared to a blur i see with a dot only
I was leaning towards the 407K.. Now I'm sold.. Thank you :)
I just ordered up the eps carry 6moa a few days ago. Cant wait to get it and try it out! Good video. :)
You can pretty regularly find the eps carry mrs green for 400-425. Its kind of a no brainer imo unless you prefer the 6 moa dot a lot.
I'm not a prejudiced person I like all guns, But lately, I've been mainly towards glocks. For the last 24 years now. Besides also being a Glock Armor for 24 years. I know the blocks inside and out. This Glock 19M Gen 5 was my first for an MOS. I'm thinking about the Glock 43X MOS, But will get one of the enclosed Holosun optics. Again great video, I'm GDoc the Glock Doc🚔🇺🇲
