5,6, pick up sticks, 7,8, lay them straight, 9,10, you’ve done it again. 👏
😆👍🏻
Neither easy. Or simple and one must work with expensive equipement!! Great job!
Wow, wasnt sure about the black but that is gorgeous!
Thanks jewelz
Am I the only one getting a strong pickle jar vibe from this turning?
My first thought was bananas, but you have a point!
short and sweet,, i love the shape and colour of this piece
Cheers roger 👍🏻
@@JackMackWoodturning you're welcome
Beautiful work.
That's really clever and beautifully finished at the end. 😊
Fascinating what you can do with sticks from the yard.
Glad you enjoyed it
Absolutely wicked!
Beautiful sliced pickle vase'

As I have been going through your old videos, I have really developed a respect for your skill as a wood turning artist. When I see a new one come up, I always know it's going to be good.

Good morning Jack, NEAT, I like the way you left the lip on top instead of cutting it down flat and making a more common bowl look. GREAT JOB. 👍. Love you and love to all.
Superb craftsmanship and so unique.
Thankyou for sharing.
OMG MAGNIFICENT beauty
Thanks dot
Jack that is simply better than any decoration I've seen u are doing great ❤
Has almost a "Zebra 🦓" like "Appearance". Perfect for an "African/Jungle " look.
I like it.

Frigging Awesome 👍🏾
Thanks buddy
Very Phil Moulthropesque--awesome work!
Just wow 😊
by far my favorite form i’ve seen you do. just a really satisfying shape imo. incredible work as always
Thanks buddy
Very simple make up, but it looks fantastic ... mind you, everything you do seems to look fantastic 👍
Amazing work and high level of craftsmanship, the question is, how easy is it to sell it for 1000$?
This was a commissioned piece. So paid for before I made it.
Ooh pretty!
Stunning ❤🇦🇺
Very cool.
$1000? There is a sucker born every minute
What do you mean?
Impressive!!!🔥🤩👏👏
Nice!
♥️♥️♥️
Cara, eu gosto muito de você!
Your ability to turn sticks into a work of art is amazing.
Very nice. Love the different grains in the wood. 😮🇦🇺😊

Beh, che dire ancora ?
Molto bello !!!
Excellent work. Im really, really curious which resin you're using that you can turn it in 24 hours. Ive tried minimum cure times and extended cure times on my lathe and had not so much luck. Chip out really badly etc. Im turning with really sharp tools too and curing in a pressure pot.
Wunderschön 🤩🤩
😊
I can't stop seeing pickles tho
Hahaha 🤣
Your working is amazing! You are so creative.
Hi👍top job 👍🐝🌞
Mr. Jack, I still get hypnotized watching you create. May I ask you, what is it that you use to put the shine on your art? Just a curious thought. I'm sure that it's quite different than using wood shavings to burnish some pieces, a bit different. Shellac is from insect "material", right? I'm only wondering if you make your own finishing products from scratch, or do you purchase whatever that product you use to make the shine glow like you do? Thank you kindly for your reply. An old fan, grin.😊
That is absolutely beautiful. I'm impressed that you hollowed it without the aid of a lasser. I bought an expensive lasser system to be able to make hollow forms.👍👍
You mean for wall thickness ?? I just use calipers. Tells you the wall thickness when you can touch or see both sides. 👍🏻
Id love to take pictures of your work with my art they would so complement eachother.
❤ So gorgeous
I was skeptical about the black resin at first - but I should have known you had the right idea!
Haha, I do make mistakes, you guys just don’t see them 😆
Woww... Your work is wonderful. Congratulations! By the way, what lathe do you use? Hugs
Thanks buddy. This is the vicmarc vl300
Be careful where you gather. I was almost fined for collecting a few pieces of driftwood. The Park Ranger said it required a permit.
Awesome
It looked so much bigger when you started--then I saw how big it really was when you applied the cool shiny finish. I like that you didn't hollow it out and kept the inner wood visible from the top. Didn't need a color other than black.
Thanks. I did hollow it completely, it’s 5mm thick walls all over 😊👍🏻
Nice you made a wood ball with a hole in it,but I do like the colour and finish
It’s fully hollow my friend, 5mm wall thickness. Light as a feather , like porcelain. Not a ball with a hole in it 😆
Really cool !...but I'm wondering about the moisture
Another stunning piece - it's so beautiful.
Another incredible piece! Gorgeous
stunningly beautiful. what was the substance you actually used to make it so shiny?
Amazing piece of art ❤
It’s a piece of something for sure
@ronaldlester2011 thanks buddy.
@@ronaldlester2011 is this a jealousy comment. Seems I a struck a nerve. I’ve never understood why people watch creators, just to antagonize them, your mother or father didn’t love you enough. Help me understand rudeness
I hope you're wearing a respirator. Microplastics in the air ain't no joke
I just need that KFC pressurized chicken cooker thing.
What ??
I believe that's for making a vaccuum to remove air from the resin.
..That's the best name for a pressure pot I've seen yet
👋👍
A stunning piece. How long did you dry the branches before turning them?
3 hours in the oven on 140c
Then left on the kitchen bench over night…
I cut them to length on the bandsaw while they were green and then on the video you see my put them straight on my workbench, that’s the night they were taken home and dried.. the magic of tv 😆
Another gorgeous piece of art❤️👍🏻
BEAUTIFUL AS ALWAYS.
Much appreciated
Was that more epoxy you coated it at the end ? Nice work
Yes. Alumilite amazing clear cast. From
Www.houseofresin.com
Great work great to watch. How much would/did you sell a piece of art like this ??
It was a commission piece, one of a pair, I made the other one a few years ago and the customer wanted it to become a pair.
The price was £795 per piece, hence the title $1,000
It’s just unreal
In a good way?
Pickles ... in the pickle jar.
😆
What is the finish used on this?
What is the finished product called and what is its function?
Did you read the title ?
I need to find those people that will pay $1000 for this. I got some stuff to sale. 🤣
I'll buy 10
Man I love your creativity your amazing
Very beautiful piece sir have a great weekend ✌️
It looks great...whats the wall thickness? Looks beautiful even if its a bud vase
Thanks. Wall thickness is about 5mm (15mm on the base)
@@JackMackWoodturning that's impressive....would make it an expensive piece....Great work
Thanks, When you say bud vase , what do you mean ?
@JackMackWoodturning a bud vase typically has provisions for supporting multiple flower blossoms in a shallow vessel without help from the relatively long stems typical of cut flowers.
I am not sure this falls into that classification
@JackMackWoodturning sorry I didn't reply....bud vase small piece of wood with a test tube in..for a flower or cutting....simple quick...that's all
How do you get the epoxy out of the bucket so cleanly. Mine always sticks, but I don’t have a pressure pot, maybe that’s it.
That’s not it 😉 I used machine grease lightly coated on the inside of the bucket.
You can buy all kinds of demolding agents but machine grease is cheap and is perfect for the job, plus it keeps my roller shutters moving smooth so I always have it on hand 😉
Yeah well, another one of those you can do in your sleep…looks great but I’m thinking $100
He was already paid 1000 by the person who commissioned him to make it so 100 is nowhere close, bud.
@@Kinokoumori yo bud, it’s still only worth $100 since he can do it in his sleep with eyes closed, so other than overpaying by $900, you have no point to make. Bud.
@@fastjazz As an artist myself, it saddens me to see how little you value our time, effort, and talent. You clearly don't know how artists price their works or how much something like this is actually worth. You're not just paying for the finished piece, you're paying for the equipment used, as well as the time spent learning the craft while NOT being paid. For the same reason that a 2D Vtuber model might go for thousands of dollars, despite the fact that someone as uneducated as you might think it's "just a drawing", something as unique and beautiful as this could EASILY go for twice the amount the commissioner paid, so really, the price Jack quotes them was more than fair. Maybe you should take a moment to appreciate just how much of a role art of all forms plays in our modern society, to give yourself a better idea of just how valuable our work really is.
@@Kinokoumori I’m sorry to disappoint you but I am far beyond well acquainted with all of it and it’s worth what I’ve already noted.
@@fastjazz r/Iamverysmart
This is definitely a beautiful piece, something different from the norm and beauty is in the eyes of the beholder keep going
Be great if they would explain exactly what they are doing and materials using.
You can just ask specific questions if you’d like to know.
What do you want to know ?
It's nice but a coffee colour resin would have been nicer to go with the beautiful grain in the wood. Sorry if I'm being to picky but if you make another please try a lighter colour.😘😘 Why are the videos getting so short.??
I agree, this would look lovely in lots of different shades..
I’m just experimenting with video length.. what do you prefer?
@@JackMackWoodturning I like longer video's, not crazy long 20-30 mins but I do appreciate watching someone who has skill and talent. Hope this helps.😘
Thanks Ellen. Sometimes they are long, sometimes short, 😊
I’m glad you still enjoy them 👍🏻
Beautiful work my friend, I really enjoyed this video
I love that finish you can really make it shine and it's probably tuff as nails 👍
First time watching your skill as an artist. Love the end result, but I cannot stop thinking about the waste from this turning. What do you do with it? 😊 wood is of course organic, but epoxy and resins - harmful to environment.
Beautiful. It's like those Greek black-figure amphorae, in reverse.
What is the glue bidder that was added?
The what sorry ?
I see someone here called it epoxy. Great!! I get now.
