Good morning Jack, this is plain beautiful. Almost like a miniature globe. I don't know how I missed this posting. Love you and love for all.
Nice one T. Much love man 💛
Great use of resin, absolutely enhances the wood grain and character.
Thanks buddy. I agree. Sometime resin is the best way to go.
That blue goes so great with the wood. Very nice.
Nice one MD. Are you from the future?
Thanks!
I am glad that you are interested for this legend.
Greetings from KÖLN am Rhein 🙋
Much love from the UK 🇬🇧
Gorgeous! I wasn't sure I liked the resin at first, but it's perfect. And the wood is amazing! Great piece.
Nice one! What would you use it for?
The perfect contrast between wood and resin, Islands in the Stream comes to mind.
Islands in the steam?
The pattern looks like an aerial photograph of a coastline. Fantastic!
Thank you so much!
This lidded bowl is awesome! Great job on bringing out the grain in this wood. I like your idea of adding a lid; the resin with the grain on the lid make this a masterpiece! Fantastic!
Awesome! Thank you! What would you keep inside?
Great work
Thanks man. Did you like the colour?
Love the combination of the opaque blue with the burl. They work well together.
Thanks S! Do you mind if I ask how you found this video?
@@JackMackWoodturning I happened on videos by Four Eyes Furniture, which led to Phil Anderson - Shady Acres Studio, which then led to you. RUclips algorithm. 😃
Well that’s interesting! Hope you are enjoying the video’s 😊💛👍🏻
Another great piece from the Bob Dylan of wood turning.
(I'm old enough to remember when the song was released.)
I find myself here, week after week, always feeling good when the project starts and finishes ...tysvm
Well that’s great to hear. Thanks so much for watching buddy. It means so much
Incredible! It looks like Mars but with oceans, like it had billions of years ago!
Great concept. Should I do a sphere?
If Mr. Dylan doesn’t want it, I’ll take it! 😄
That color blue is fantastic. Combined with the burl, it really is a stunning piece. Really like that one!
Amazing piece! Absolutely love the shape
Islands of hidden treasure!!!
That's what came to mind when seeing this finished piece.
Is that a series?
@@JackMackWoodturning only in my mind...lol
the blue color resembles water that could easily surround the 'island looking' wood areas. The 'hidden treasure' refers to the finished lidded piece, one could use as a place to keep something precious....such as small jewelry.
Your creativity is always a joy to watch from beginning to end.
Thanks May. I love the idea of islands and water. Maybe it could be a series of boxes and nested bowls?
@@JackMackWoodturning I find that idea very interesting .....yes yes yes 😀😀
Haha, I’ll add it to my endless list of ideas 💡 😊👍🏻
very nicely done Jack
Thanks Rich, how’s it going?
Just Amazing 🤩🤩🤩🤩
Nice one Maddy, what would you keep inside?
Just awesome and stunningly beautiful
Thanks a lot Kobie. How are you?
There's nothing I love more than little containers, and this is exquisite.
I know me too! Always come in handy. Are you like me and accumulate lots of stuff in little vessels?
@@JackMackWoodturning Yup... Lots of useless little things that I probably should just throw away, but might have a purpose later!!! 🤣😂🤣
Haha! It’s funny how much stuff we accumulate. More boxes and bowls mean more place to put things. I need to stop taking pieces home 🤣
@@JackMackWoodturning at least you have something beautiful to keep stuff in!!
🤣😂🤣
Haha! Well I’m glad you like it. Thanks for watching as always. It means a lot 😊👍🏻💛

Thanks so much. Is this your favourite?
Very beautiful Jack.
Thank you Jack!
This is really stunning. I also like the fact that you haven’t polished it to a high gloss which allows the wood to show off the real beauty.
Thanks Ange. Do you always prefer Matt?
@@JackMackWoodturning Hello Jack. I think the wood being used should be allowed to dictate the finish as a general rule. However, the final use of the item, whether it needs to be food safe or “ornamental” is also a consideration. Then, of course, there is the use of resin and how this is turned into an embellishment of the wood. But you are the person doing the work and observing how your design is turning out. Also, you are a proper wood turner - I am just an interested observer who has a love of wooden objects - you know what you want and how you feel it should look. And, on that score, what I have seen of your work does not disappoint. So, in answer to your question, whatever finish you feel is right, will be right, and I will happily go along with that decision. Just sorry this is such a very long-winded response. 👍
Haha no problem at all. I think I will always favour matt aesthetically. Although like you say, functionality can dictate the finish, along with the client. Have you ever tried turning?
@@JackMackWoodturning I took up watching wood turning during the lockdowns and got a bit “hooked” and have never really stopped since. I like the idea of learning to turn wood but, now at nearly 70, I’m probably a bit too old to learn - and the fingers are getting a bit arthriticy as well. So I think I’ll just watch people like you create lovely pieces. Sit back, and enjoy! Have a great week and I will look forward to watching your next project.
Ah OK no problem. So glad you are enjoying the video’s. New one dropping Friday at 12 😊👍🏻💛
Outstanding work my friend
