I couldn't have that piece in my house: I couldn't live with it! I'd put it somewhere...then walk around it, trying to find the most beautiful aspect. Then I'd turn it. Admire it some more, then have to get up and turn it again. Then put it somewhere else that would show it off even more. Then stare at it, then move it, then turn it, then turn it some more...and on and on. It's so gorgeous, that if I look at from one view, I'd miss the other. It's impossible to decide!!! Breathtaking. Wow!

When you started to add the finish this piece just came alive ... both the wood and resin are absolutely stunning ... a truly exceptional piece 👍

@@JackMackWoodturning Oh much better, burl is almost always fantastic to look at, but the combination of the resin and burl this time was especially pleasing to the eye ... it took the breath away as you added the finish though, it just burst into life!!

That is absolutely beautiful. My husband got me a lathe for my birthday back in February last couple months. I haven’t had much time to practice because of other obligations. But I haven’t given up and I hopefully one day I can make something close to a beautiful this is.

Hi Jack The burl has some lovely markings and grain and spalting, I love the jade resin it's a nice colour. I enjoyed watching you the main bowl then the stand they are both magnificent and unique. Well done Jack thanks for a great video from Amanda from Scotland in the Uk xx

@@JackMackWoodturning - No, sorry, no time for that anymore, I retired from woodworking many years ago but still appreciate the talent and work that goes into creating these masterpieces. I'm a woodman at heart but no time or desire to get back into it.

@@JackMackWoodturning - Don't do that Jack, we all appreciate what you do soooo much and would be sad if you stopped. You are a true artist and have a talent that is quite special. I never had a great love of woodworking and did it mainly to make money as I built up an 80 man cabinet shop that drained me in the management of it. Sold it and swore never to do woodworking again. I never have but do appreciate fine woodworking of all types and I do have a love for wood. Keep up the great work Jack.

I like how the green looks like jade. I like how you matched the edges of the wood from the bowl to the foot. Hope you make more items with this kind of foot, such as cake plates. Ooo, a punch bowl!

Every video you present is a favourite. You are very creative. I see a lump of wood at the start of a video and think to myself, what the heck can he make from that, but you always produce something beautiful.

As for the raffles, it sure is a great prize! But if I won, I would not know where to set this up in my flat...
You just need a desktop lathe. They are very manageable. 😂👍🏻😉

Beautiful! At first I thought chip and dip bowl, but love the compote. And the color is really pretty. No regular blue it’s a nice change from all the others.

BEAUTIFUL piece I love it!!
This really turned out to be magnificent. I've always wanted to try my skills and imagination with Woodturning. I almost had a complete workshop: before my brother died, he gave his workshop to me. It was furnished with two lathes, drill press, all of the saws and sanders possible. His widow sold everything to pay the medical bills. I lost all of it. Bummer.
Maybe here? Am I lucky yet? Let's see... 😊

@@JackMackWoodturning good morning. No I have never worked with it. I just started learning to turn last year. I have always worked with my hands but with blowing glass. I have completely fallen in love with it. But there are not a lot of instructors where I live. So I am learning as I go watching videos and turning. My last instructor said I was a little OCD about my work. But anything worth doing is worth doing right. So I am patient and let the wood talk to me. Silly I know. Thank you for sharing your gift with the world. Your work is beautiful!

Super nice final piece. In the early moments of the video I was thinking, “How’s he going to hold this together?” Can’t believe I didn’t think about using resin. Came out great! The colors all worked well. Super job.
