    Just wow. Who knew that a crusty birch log could go through such a transition! Jack, you took it from what looked like a bone-in ham to a chatoyant dinosaur egg. And you always keep me guessing. Well done!

    You’re a very brave man Jack! But the result was astonishing, like everyone else I didn’t have a clue what you were creating. The grain on the finished piece is beautiful! Well done mate 👍🏼

    It looks like a description of what a dragon egg might look like. A great turn that would grace any space it was in.

    Howdy ✋. I'm so glad that you left this one in the egg shape, without making a jar or something out of it. I was afraid you would start turning it into just that - a jar, all the while hoping you wouldn't. It nearly looks like something a volcano would have given birth to. I think it's incredible how you work on everybody's imagination with your pieces. Love it!! Like an exciting movie, you definitely hit the climax at the end. Standing ovation for sure, on this one Mr. Jack Mack. Grin 🤔😶😯😳😃

      Yes Sir. You get great angles and I like the way the chips fly. I wondered if the epoxy would get in the cavities good, it did. Thumbs-up 👍 .

    No idea where this was going but had me hooked from start to finish! A huge knotted log transformed beyond my expectations! So glad you didn’t make into a vase. Creative to the end.

    That's a wonderful looking egg! The red streaks suggest some strange creature might pop out of it! Amazing colors and wood grain! 😁👍👍

    I was born in New Zealand and knew a man who used to hand adze Kauri timber. He was taught by an old tradesman born in the 1800's. When he passed away he passed his tools onto the man I knew. The timber was got from the Auckland Wharves when they were upgraded. It would be amazing for you to be able to get a piece of Kauri. It is multi glistening Cheers

    That is a truly tactile piece. I could spend hours just stroking that with one hand and my dog with the other while contemplating the state of the world today.
    Many wood turners , in my opinion are over using epoxy on their pieces. You only use it when the piece calls for it which is why I only follow you.

      Thanks a lot man, it truly means a lot. I’m not a huge fan of resin either if I’m honest. Wood is king 👑

    Webuls wobble but they don't fall down......that was my first thought on this piece, as far as stability...😁😁 My limit on complimenting your vision and unique finished pieces will be never ending. Incredible mixture of resin colors Jack. One of my favorites of late.
    I've often wondered if you ever weigh the raw wood before beginning to turn it into magical works of art and then weigh the finished piece??

      I don’t weight pieces before hand no. Most would be too heavy to weigh on my scales I’m afraid. 😊👍🏻

    The 'Chunk' gave birth to an egg. Very nice! Do you see the final object in every piece at the start or do you sometimes change course as you go? The way the resins set is stunning.

      Last week I made a "Holiday Rum Cake and a Spice Cake".
      Soon I will begin my round the Clock Holiday Cake Baking Time.
      It can be tiering but alas I enjoy it.
      Plus the extra Money 💲 I make helps me out. Because if You think getting Rich off SSDI will work forget it.
      So the extra Money 💲 helps Me pay Bills.
