This has to be the most terrifying woodturning video I've seen. My nerves were frayed!
It sounds like you haven’t watched alot of my videos Pete.. this one is tame compared to most
Now those are some very thin walls. The thinnest I have ever seen. And that stem. I was waiting for it to break, but it didn't. The hot water bath and bending the stem was very neat.
Thank you. I’m glad you enjoyed it
Amazing! The flashlight made me think making a nightlight out of thin wood would be cool!
I’ve seen them turned before, but the bit where you showed how one dries and moves is just delightful and charming. Thank you.
Me the entire video:
"Fuck dat, dis dude crazy"
Bee. I think you should use the correct spelling so that you stand out as the cool one from all your homies.
LK, thanks, these things are a must for practicing advanced tool control techniques
@@JackMackWoodturning mabye you should go read some some huckleberry fin books.
@@JackMackWoodturning but also. Good lathe work. You got some steady hands 👍
Wood turning is very satisfying
Amazing, beautiful flowers
Hi 👋, What a beautiful pieces of sculpture, Artwork, PHIL FROM THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOULIN FRANCE.
Hi Jack....ooooooooooooooooooooft! again. Cheers Will.
I really thought you were making some sort of light piece but these decorative pieces are sooo super cool and to see the process of the wood dry and curl like it did was just unbelievable 😮❗️Amazing job 😅😊
Wow... Jack, you amaze me...
Oh thank you buddy! Have you seen my latest video? I think you might like it

Very cool! 🤣🤣👍👍)))))))))
Thanks 😊
love the ribbons from green wood. Not so much the water spraying me in the face. :)
😱Face shield!! Never turn without a face shield. Iv caught too many chunks with my face shield to ever step up to the lathe without a face shield on.
But yes.. I love the ribbons too
@@JackMackWoodturning I wear a face shield they just don't make one with wipers 😂
also, how do clean/protect tools and lathe from the water?
Oh. I’m sorry I misunderstood when you said face. I thought you meant your skin. Sorry. I see so many turn with no face shield on and I just don’t understand why anyone would risk it. Plus .. shavings in the eyes is no fun.
Amazing.
Thank you
Great to watch…….if your heart can go the distance!
Just wow 😱👍👍👍
Very elegant work, bravo. Those are exceptional.😊😊
Just the shear vision of it Jack! Awesome.. love you man!!
Un travail d’une délicatesse incroyable 😻
Jack Mack , You’re the man
Too kind moe, I’m blushing over here
love these. the hot water was a puzzle until I saw you clamp them!
I like to keep you guys guessing.. I’m told it’s half the fun of watching .. would you agree?
Woohoo young Jack very cool technic and the time laps just set it off.👍👍👍.Ernie smith from brisbane Australia
Outstanding!
Really pretty and fun to watch.
I would be *terrified* of those stems getting snapped!
Loving the new lathe can't wait to see what the vitmarc and the new sharpening tormack system will come from you will be watching with can't eye
Thanks Jamie
C’est vraiment excellent 👌, exceptionnel, j’adore 👍🏻 ❤
Wow, nothing like making 1 toothpick from an entire tree!
That's great,i like this
Thanks for sharing.
At first I was a bit confused as to what you were creating.
The end result was so beautiful! ❤️🔥
I like it when you used the flashlight to show just how thin the wood was.
Huuyuuu out of I don't think 😢😢😮. V😊mmkk.😅
Wow what a crazy neat idea.
Wow!! I've never seen anything like that!! Beautiful! Thank you for sharing your adventure.👍🤟🪡🎨
At first, I was just impressed you could lathe wood so thinly, so delicately... but I was amazed to see why you did all that work.

I watch these videos too switch off and relax, but that one stressed me out🤣🤣🤣.
I could hear the voice in my head going
'No! Don't snap. Don't snap'.
Couldn't see where you was going with it, right up until the end. 👍

@@JackMackWoodturning Loved the very surprising finished product!
I love them. They are brilliant
Thanks Jo
Merveilleux, very wobderfull
That was a joy to watch. I've only been at this a few years and really appreciate your technique and tool control. The time lapse drying is a great addition.
Amazing bit of work. 😊
Thanks buddy
Was wowed already, then you bent them! Fantastic all round. Love the way greenwood warps, I'm a greenwood carver myself.
I love warping super thing vessels. The steam/heat kind of reduce the over all warp but it worth it to get the vent stems. What do you make?
@@JackMackWoodturning I carve spoons, bowls, cups and a few other things. Recently had a some vids shot of me on Zed Outdoors youtube channel.
Mesmerizing
The whole time I was wondering, what's going to happen to this when it dries? Gorgeous and imaginative!
I’m glad I went to the effort to get the shot of it drying. It tells the story don’t you think ?
@@JackMackWoodturning Yes I appreciated the time lapse!
Astounding!
Thank you
Ingenious!!!

Lovely 😍
Thanks 🤗 Have you seen wood this thin before?
Just beautiful the flowers made of wood, very nice color. ❤I got a little nervous watching it though. 😳😃
Very imaginative and creative! And, I love the idea of a 'bouquet' of these 'flowers'. Well-done. :)
Thank you. I adore making these little fellas
@@JackMackWoodturning Well, the result is a delight. :)
At first, I was wondering why you were turning away so much nice looking wood grain! Then I saw the end result! Don't you just wish you had a way to save all that good wood grain and still create a masterpiece like that?😁👍👍🥀
Hello Jack beautifully done good job
Thanks buddy
That time lapse drying was great. Thanks for sharing.😎
I enjoy that not too. Thank you
Those pieces are stunning! Loved the time-lapse shaping.
Thanks Ana. Have you seen wood this thin before?
No, I have never seen wood worked that way. Very beautiful.
Beyond craftsmanship art
Cheers buddy
I thought the Japanese woodworker Yamabiko was the only person crazy enough to try this! Great job, though. Nice pretty new Vicmarc!
Haha. I was often make a bunch of these for tool control practice. Yeah the vl300 is a terrific machine.. do you
Have a vicmarc ?
beautiful .
Very Pretty
Thanks 😊
Your skill level is on another plateau. The balance and patience needed to turn those very narrow stems is off the charts
Thanks J. Glad you enjoyed it. I reckon you will like my latest vid.

Looks great... only a true master can achieve such a thin wall
Thanks
So unique and lovely.
Thanks A. Are you at Collector?
@@JackMackWoodturning ...merely an admirer.
amazing
Thanks. 👍🏻
Very cool! Especially liked the short time lapse of the piece drying; have never seen anything quite like that before.
Yes I really enjoyed watching that but back once it was done. I think I might make another video based on that idea. You think that’s a good call? Would you
Watch it ?
Absolutely I'd watch it. Always looking for anything on RUclips that's not the same ol' same ol', and that fits into that category.
@@JackMackWoodturning Yes I would watch it too, really interesting how to treat green wood.
Those look great.
👍🏻 thanks buddy
Thank you for the great video this is now on my list as I have some Smaller sticks of Oak I was wondering what to do with. this is some great inspration I can see a cool little set of these from this chunk I have.
Omg, that is simply stupendous. Even my wife admitted that they were “ok”.
Beautifully done😘😘
Thanks Ellen
You truly are an artist. Lovely work, I adore your flowers. Have you ever thought about using those wet steeps of wood to make bows or other shapes, dry them then put them in clear or almost clear resin to make bowlsor ect... Just a thought. Again thanks for the beautiful work! ☺
Nice idea. 😊
That's incredible! I know what my next project is going to be now :) And I have to say, there really is nothing more satisfying than seeing great long ribbons of wood coming off green wood like that
Awesome, I’d love to see your pieces. Send me them on instagram or Facebook please
@@JackMackWoodturning That may take some time, I've had three attempts so far and have managed to make three funnels! I'll keep trying though
Those ribbons were beyond satisfying!! Beautiful Jack 💙
😁
Absolutely beautiful.
Cheers Jill
Jack you never seem to amaze me.
I never amaze you ? 😔
The master's touch; The artist's eye. Simply beautiful!
