All very good advice. You can get the clip off with a thin fabric rag or towel by pulling the sheet under the handle away from the grip if you don't have the crows foot trim tool.
Watched your window install video and now this. Even have the same truck so you have given me confidence. A paint can opener is useful for removing door clips as well.
dang I was pretty much following along the whole process thinking "i think i can figure this out" till u got to the end talking about the electrical connections and stuff and i got lost lol wish u could do a little beginner tutorial video for that for non-electritians people hehe
If you’re confused about the bulk of wires shown it’s color coded so you just match and you’re ready to go. The “hardest” part is finding power source and grounding it.
Superb explanation. My god the window handle took me forever to remove. Y’all make it look so stinking easy. Thank you for focusing on that part and the importance of where the actuator is connected. I wish i could like the video multiple times!!
For the window crank clip removal try using a rag. You just spread the rag flat and run the edge in between the door card and the crank and try your best to catch the side of the clip with the rag. Try it both directions since the clip can be on backwards sometimes. It works surprisingly well in my experience and has a very low chance of scraping your door card if you haven't removed one of these before.
haha...I installed the power window kit in my '99 Silverado from your video... now installing the power door locks from your video... Thank you sir!! just one note tho, you forgot to show the reason for the extra wires on the driver door...(central locking feature that unlocks/locks the pass. door if you manually unlock/lock the driver door😉) Great video tho my friend...love your content!
You have a great way about you sir, humble to the point and an excellent example for others to follow for their own vehicle .. God Bless you and your family
Explained the best way possible! I got the same kit and installed it today, it took me a while to figure out the 2009 Chevy Cobalt auxiliary box. I read the car manual because my wires was so short and I couldn’t do the back doors, i also wasn’t sure if i was going to get it to the battery. I ended up getting a 12V from the floor fuse box since it’s under the glove box. Im not sure if that’s safe but i seen people do it and i just wanna know if it’s safe, I connected the red cable to the fuse and plugged the fuse. It works just great, i didn’t use any other fuses or “borrow” or depending on a power that’s for another thing, when i read the manual for the fuse box, ot said there is a fuse for unlocking the doors even tho my car doesn’t unlock automatically, but i used that fuse to get the 12V. i couldn’t find the alarm installation guide but I haven’t connected my trunk and second headlights, will you be able to tell me how to connect the trunk and also if the fuse method i used for the 12V os safe? And if i can buy wires to extend it to the back since the wires are short, and if im supposed to buy wires that’s the same color or any wire works? Thank you
I have the same truck and mounted exactly the same and wired up correctly and unlock is lock and lock is unlock. Didn’t have enough room anywhere on the door to flip the actuator over.
The window crank is removed with a simple wash rag. Slide it under the plastic end of the window crank and pull up and to you. Just for those folks without the proper tool. It takes seconds and is easier than using the tool!
Hi , Great video, very informative. I have teh same truck silverado. how did you connect to the wires from the module to paring lights under the dash? did you connect the horn as well?
bossman great video!! i bought two kits the other day after watching this.. i bought the one you got on amazon and i bought a viper alarm system . & i also purchased a additional set of actuators for the viper alarm since it didnt come witih it. so I wired the one from amazon everything works flawless no problems. Ive done it the same way with the viper alarm but everything works besides the doors unlocking and locking with the actuators. the viper alarm came w a relay. The amazon one didnt require one. do you think i need to use the relay or is there something i am missing ? thanks in advance !!
Acker 1 day ago My 04 tj works like I expected. One thing I noticed is if I use the manual lock button on the inside drivers door unlocks both doors unlock but only locks the drivers door. Is that normal
nice, how does the new door lock look like? I am hoping to replace mine, that has been broken in twice, some thieves used probably a screw driver and just ripped the locker.
hey i got a problem. i installed the actuators and everything but whenever i try to lock my truck it’ll just unlock right after so it won’t stay locked. do you know what might be causing this?
Hey man great video, I’m doing this on my 2005 Silverado and was wondering what exact wire did you tap into for the lights? Please answer I need help thanks in advance!
I did something similar but used a viper alarm system so that I would have keless entry. My question is,can I install a button connected to the relayinside the car so that I unlock the doors while the car is running? The viper alarm will not unlock the doors while the engine is running. It automaticaly locks the doors when I start the car ( by choice in the settings) I was thinking if I added another branch of power to the relays it would send current back into the alarm system and maybe destroying the alarm.
Definitely want to put this in my 68 Camaro. Can it be wired so when you unlock it your interior lights come on, and then go out after a few seconds after you've gotten in the vehicle like a normal modern car.
Sure, However this kit does not offer dome light supervision. This has exact question has been on my mind for a week now. Some more $$$ expensive keyless entry systems has this feature built in. I plan on doing this upgrade to my vehicle soon because I not only want just dome light supervision but I want to add some puddle lights to the bottom of my truck mirrors as well. Which is the same concept but on the exterior of the vehicle like newer vehicles! I didnt think anyone would want to know that but now, I plan on it! I believe It can be done for less than $10.
I had started out with, I'll do the installation myself, how hard can it be? And now? Thanks but no thanks, I'm gonna hire someone XD Thank you for your thorough explanation showing me I am not ready lol
Are you talking about the keyless system required for the actuators to work? If that’s is what you are asking then no. You can put the actuators on your doors and wire them to a switch.
Ryan there is a brown and white wire from the module separate from the other set for the actuators. Is that for a rocker switch to manually lock & unlock the doors?
You can look up the color of your power wires for your radio online by the year of your vehicle and follow that wire to the fuse box. Then tap off of it. They do sell devices to do so to avoid crappy connection or just splice and solder with battery disconnected.
Hey man thanks for the great video but do you know think there is a way to route bthe wire for the trunk pop to make the horn sound instead? I believe I have a close truck to yours. I'm 02 Silverado.
Find the Keyless Entry System here - amzn.to/3q3c45t
All very good advice. You can get the clip off with a thin fabric rag or towel by pulling the sheet under the handle away from the grip if you don't have the crows foot trim tool.
Same exact kit i just got in the mail today. Im stoked to do the install. VERY well documented, sir. Thanks for the details.

same hahaha I dont think I can do this
@@ivanrodriguez268 ikr I'd have to watch 20 more videos
It's find a ground and a positive power cable . Not rocket science
If you’re confused about the bulk of wires shown it’s color coded so you just match and you’re ready to go. The “hardest” part is finding power source and grounding it.
Maybe you should just let someone smarter do it for you
Finally, a good installation video. Thank you sir!
I second that. Good walkthrough.
Superb explanation. My god the window handle took me forever to remove. Y’all make it look so stinking easy. Thank you for focusing on that part and the importance of where the actuator is connected. I wish i could like the video multiple times!!
Glad it helped! Ive also heard of people using a old thin shirt or towel to wrap around the handle to pull the clip out.

this video just made me ok with buying a truck that does not have power locks. thanks!
Your tip with the 9 v battery made my day and was worthy of a sub haha
Awesome, I appreciate it.
@@Fentertainment please can you do a video explaining the absence of relays

Thanks for the vid. I'm in the process of doing mine on express cargo van and the info really helpful
I need to hire you to do this on my 95 Sentra gxe 😂
For the power did you use the constant 12v under the dash
How is it holding up? Any problems with the unit? How far does the key fob reach? I really like the 9v test learn something new everyday.
Still going atrong. Its about the same as the oem range maybe a tad further.
Great video mate. Thanks 🙏
Great video, thank you

What did you use to mount the brackets on the door? Did you drill new holes in the door? How are your screws holding the braket to the door?

to remove the window lever, i use a strip of rug and tie a knot onto the shaft of the lever and pull it.

would like to see how exactly the park lamps are wired in
Can this be controlled over WiFi / internet? Is there anything that will do this?
Damn good tutorial. Thank you very much!
how did you sync up the remotes? i cant get it to sync
Awesome video. Can you provide some guidance on how to add an aftermarket switch to be able to lock and unlock the actuators?
Did you have any luck wiring the switch
The white and brown wires coming out of the controller are for external switches.
Is an alarm system required for the other system to work?
Are you talking about the keyless system required for the actuators to work? If that’s is what you are asking then no. You can put the actuators on your doors and wire them to a switch.
What wires did you hook up to the parking lights? Is it the brown and white wires from the junction box? Its the only other loose wires mine came with
Ay what car did you do this on
NO relays need it?
TQ...😅
Can you also wire this kit to an existing actuator that’s already on the vehicle ?
Where exactly did you tie in the wires for the running lights?
Did you read the description? There are links there that will tell you wire colors and what they do in your personal vehicle. Where to find it also.
is there a way to program a new key fob?
Great video. Did you connect the ground wire to the battery terminal or to a spot on the cabin?
A spot under the dash.
awesome video well done!!
You should install a bypass switch somewhere.
Ryan there is a brown and white wire from the module separate from the other set for the actuators. Is that for a rocker switch to manually lock & unlock the doors?
Great job! Really good description on the installation. Can you tell us where you got your 12V from?
You can look up the color of your power wires for your radio online by the year of your vehicle and follow that wire to the fuse box. Then tap off of it. They do sell devices to do so to avoid crappy connection or just splice and solder with battery disconnected.
Nice job
This was really helpful. Thanks 👍
If I have a car that already has power locks do I just splice it in ?
Nice 👍
Can I just wire my Red wire into a fuse under my dashboard on driver side, if so , which fuse should I tap into?
10:05 Experts *never* *solder* wires, they *always crimp* - It's far *more reliable*
Hey man thanks for the great video but do you know think there is a way to route bthe wire for the trunk pop to make the horn sound instead? I believe I have a close truck to yours. I'm 02 Silverado.
Which were for the parking light under the hood?
What did you do with the white and brown wires that says connect to main unit ?
Will the key still work ?
yes
