Hey I wired the 5 wire lock color to colors matched the drivers side was 5 wires and the other side has green blue
But mine has 2 orange wires where do they get wired thanks

INTERESTING...... kinda want to do that to my Sonoma there are versions that have that yes but this one doesn't have it and I like it for what it is I got it 👌cheap lol and running too needs stuff but what car/truck don't lol.
update: i was re watching this because im about to do this on a brand new 2022 tacoma (and make a video) ... they still work perfect to this day.BUT THIS KIT has a huge parasitic draw that will drain your battery after a few days.. so keep that in mind if you get this exact kit

the kit comes with 4 actuators.. i did not do the tailgate..
I installed the same kit on my car, but I found that it would unlock randomly. I could get it to lock but it unlocked sometimes right away or after a few minutes. I never hit the buttons after locking. Did you have this problem?

Can you do this on cars that you have to lift the handle in order to lock?
you should.. as long as the lock has a lever you can do it
@@chriscraft77022 could you please elaborate? I have a 2017 Jeep Patriot and there are no buttons just locks that you push up or down. Is this still doable?

they work perfect but if you don’t drive the car it WILL drain your battery in a few days
A jeep guy that actually does proper wiring? Didn't know those even existed. Honestly though, the only change I would make is at 8:05 I'd use uninsulated terminals and then use glue lined heatshrink on them so the crimps are 100% waterproof and wont corrode.
My 04 tj works like I expected. One thing I noticed is if I use the manual lock button on the inside drivers door unlocks both doors unlock but only locks the drivers door. Is that normal
I honestly only use the key fob.. I have never manually locked or unlocked them.. I’ll check it out soon here
@@chriscraft77022 I found out that now it works both ways. It just needed a little rod adjustment and now the drivers door locks and unlocks both doors. I hope the draw when it sits doesn't run my battery down.
It WILL drain your battery completely dead in like a week.. happened to me 3 times.. I start mine up every 3 days and I’ve been good
@@chriscraft77022 I let my 2004 to sit for 1 week and went out today and it started normally and the temp here in Southern Indiana was 20 degrees.
In 1 week mine cranks slow 2 weeks kills my battery 100%

Only issue I see here is - it’s not plug and play so it would be an issue taking your doors off from the wrangler

Bought that kit and installed it on my 65 impala didn't come with instructions, but your video nailed it and made it simple
Wonder how long before the hole in plastic solenoid plunger cracks open and the rod falls out. The cheap plastic used overseas nowadays is beyond junk. Hope it keeps working for you and you get more than one season out of it. That motor really slams the plastic plunger into the metal rod. Something has to give unfortunately. Hope you bought the 4 door kit so you have some spares. I put aftermarket power windows in my '96 Silverado and I ordered 2 kits when I made the purchase. Good thing because the driver's motor crapped out after ~2 years.
I bought the cheap ones because I don’t daily that Jeep. They still work perfect but will drain the battery if you leave it for a few days
@@chriscraft77022 Oh damn- thanks for telling me that. I was thinking of buying a 4-door set for my classic Corvette so I'd have two extra actuators. I could live with having to replace them but NOT a dead battery! Car only comes out for car shows and an occasional drive so I'll have to check for a more reputable setup. Thanks again for that input.

@@chriscraft77022 The reason this made sense to me is that my Corvette doesn't have power locks and when I take it to car shows things have gotten so out of hand with the lawlessness that I lock the doors whenever I walk away from it to look at the other cars and talk to friends. Each time I do that I risk of accidently scratching the paint with the door lock key. I figured everything would be out of sight so no one would be the wiser and it might mitigate an accident and/ or some malcontent just opening the door and getting in. Since you mentioned your battery gets drained and goes dead on a regular basis I realized that the electronic module that receives the signal from the key fob is always on and just waiting to respond to a key fob lock or unlock press. I started wondering why ALL cars with power accessories similar to locks don't have this problem and realized that factory units are designed for real cars by real engineers and the receiver circuitry used and designed for the unit has super low current requirements and are designed for this not to happen. These online Chinese units are probably some crude receiver that is normally used where external power is constantly supplied and they just stock that in a case and called it a day not caring if people get stuck. My heated seats failed 2 years ago and the repair was cost prohibitive so I bought a cheap pair that plug into the power outlets in the car. Turn them off and leave them plugged in and the battery is dead in the car in 2 days. Go figure.
