hi @lesscoelectronics. love watching all your videos. I found when using a similar illuminated switch, there is no need for the red wire! It is simply to illuminate the LED. I am using my toggle switch for door locks and at first I thought I was going to have to now look for unilluminated toggle switches. But I got to thinking about the power source for the switch so I unhooked the red wire and voila, the light stayed off but I could still control the door lock actuator! Whoop!
I have a driver side door with a dead actuator. The door won't open and the cable that controls the latch won't release. If I stripped the cable that controls the door latch and hook it up to your actuator will that work? I probably need to get to the wires from the car itself also and maybe that cable will release. Does that make sense?
Thanks for making this video it's very uselful. I was wondering if this principle would work for me wiring up an electric window? I am attempting to make my own circuit up, so far I have the electric windows in place and the 5 pin switch panel.. Would these switches change the polarity both ways or would I have to involve some relays to do this?
Thanks great info, can you answer the following: I have a remote door locks with electronic relay now with no inside lock control button. I would like to add 5 wire button as you described, do I tap separate 12v & ground and splice into one of lock and one unlock wires. thanks
I have a Directed 4103. Can I use this switch to tap into the door lock wiring on the brain (blue and green wires on the brain) so that I can have an internal switch to lock/unlock?
im lost on using these for a cheap keyless entry, the kit has two wires that says connect to manual(white and brown)and on the switches I bought the color coding is different , they are black, blue, red, green, white.
Hello, First time checking your channel, I'm trying to add a keyless on my semi's driver door only but my switch has 6 wires, any advice on how to wire it without a relay?
Hey my friend.. i was looking for this video whole day thaank youu bro. I have a question i hope you will see this comment. Is this possible with 3 pin button ( 3 wire button) ?
My remote is working backwards, when I hit like it unlocks and vice versa. I flip-flopped in the green and blue wires on the passenger door and it now works normally when pushing each button, the Driver side door is still wrong, if I try to reverse the blue and green wires on that side it sends it into a lock/unlock frenzy that never ends. Which wires out of the black, blue, green, brown and white wires do I switch? If you could help that would be awesome. Thank you
Hi I have a 2004 Lincoln Aviator and there is a knocking sound coming from the back . I had a guy disconnect the drivers side door lock switch and it went away. I ordered a used door lock switch and just pushed it in and it snapped and the sound came back. The door lock switch still doesn't work and I am not sure if wires needed to be wired into the piece or not. Any help is appreciated. Stay safe and healthy. Steve
I have a four-lock system exactly like this and I've installed it successfully. Now I have one amber-colored wire that's supposed to power the trunk release. How do I wire that? I bought another actuator, now how do I wire it? Thanks
thanks so much for this, works perfecthow do I wire up a second switch? I got both actuators working from the switch on drivers side. do I need relays to have 2 or more switches?
, I did that, but it doesn't work. Is it because the blue and the green or resting on negative or ground? so when you send a positive signal through blue or green and one door it actually grounds out on the ground resting on the other switch on the other door?
I use only 3 wires for door lock unlock switch.. 2 wires for lock & unlock while another wire for ground coz the door needs to be close to operate the switch.. I didn't want any light.. It's straight forward.. I connect or loop through the central lock module coz it was easy to locate..
@@Lesscoelectronics I was looking at connecting the actuator wires from the manual switch directly to the actuator wires which are also connected to a remote keyless entry controller
Can you bypass it to the driver side window.? There are also 5 wires.. How many wires to connect and which one? I've tried using only 3 wires.. Left/right for lock/unlock.. While the middle is the ground.. Is it correct?
The question is: how it will control both doors? The system I saw today had the same switch one on each door, but the driver door only Locked/Unlocked the driver door and passenger switch just the passenger door.
Ran across this and was wondering if you may be able to help me, you seem to a lot more then I can find with my search. So added power locks to my 72' but rather not add interior switches. But like to have my 4806v viper be used to lock and unlock it(mainly the range and added stuff later on) so like to know if you could let me know how to do the wiring, seems the testing I'm doing only get it to lock on the two wire actuators and not unlock. So do I need the 5 wire or do I need to add a relay? To make it work. If your able to help be much appreciated.
Hi, I thanks for the video. Your always helpful. I I have a question. My driver's master door lock switch on my car doesn't seem to work. My passenger master works. The 2 slaves in the back seat doors work. The problem master has its light on but doesn't want to actuate. Before I go ahead and go through the process of opening my door card and buying a new switch, are there a few steps I should do first before I blow $200 for a new switch/actuator (or spend a day opening the inside of my car door-I've got a VW Passat) before I realize that I should have done something simple to solve the problem? Thanks! Ray
IMO, To get to the trouble source you will need to access the bottom of that switch to get a tester on it to see if the switch is throwing voltage or if its just corrosion/broken or a lose connection. So off with the door panel. And BTW those switches are very affordable in non oem types on eBay these days... I've used one with great success.
