What impressed me the most on Hokusai's ukiyoes is his ぼboldness on composition. Every frame has a unique composition and that works really well. He is a true genius.
I have known this song/video for 12 years. I never noticed the paintings because i was so mesmerized by the music. I love Japan. And #macrobiotics. I am sentimental. Thanks for this beautiful video. Nihon wa totemo suki.
I loved watching this video. The colors are not intense but yet are still able to draw you to the focal points of the painting. Hokusai had a very diverse and intricate palette of colors that he used to create these masterpieces. All of the paintings share a similar style, value, and texture, but every one has a different look and meaning. This video was so relaxing to watch and really brought the creativity out inside of me.
This is familiar to my favorite artist, Ando Hiroshige. I knew they were friends, and Hokusai was the main reason for him to take up that BEAJUTIFUL craft. I will NEVER tire of looking at this beautiful art.
I actually had to do a wood block painting in elementary school in here in America. Makes me appreciate the work that went into these. I have long admired Hokusai's work. A nice piece of music accompanying it. Thank you very much.
Le ambientazioni di Hokusai sono davvero stupefacenti e lasciano col fiato sospeso...Chi non lo sarebbe davanti alla grandiosità del monte Fuji? Inutile dire che si tratti di un grande artista. Very awesome, I like it.
This was so gorgeous. And they were all views of Mount Fuji. What a wonderful artist to show us so much. Your video makes me want to step into his world. I don't know what you studied in college, but you have some kind of talent. Whoever hires you will be hiring an aware, thoughtful, reflective thinker.
Now this has to be the best comment I have ever, everrrr gotten. From your lips to the ears of the folks who pass me over to hire the guy with 5 years of experience. Thank you, your comment gets eleventy hundred thumbs up. I was drawn to Hokusai by his painting "The Great Wave". I love the ocean.
incredible images with beautiful and soothing music for the soundtrack..another great video along with all your videos..5*****..very best wishes..Ronnie...
The sea has a special song for it's children, my sweet little wave toying with the shore, gathering shells and listening to the secrets they tell. Be as silent as the waters of the world, awash in the lalabye waves that kiss and coo, for land's pain, has floated off, away, beloved...
There were producer and sponsor too, but only Eshi was shown and recorded. It was an art production business. Hokusai was among the most popular Eshis in Edo period and is still popular now, which is amazing. (3 of 3)
Ukiyoe was a commercial woodblock art and was a subculture then. They were stuck on the wall like a poster. And the people who have come to Edo in travel bought these as a present.

i always feel like writing poems when i listen to this, therefor i shall even now. a world, ack, so blind. we are watching the world, without a sight. through a world of concrete, a world of stress. oh, why shall we not rest our spirit, just for a little while. and see the beauty of the world, for at least a little time.

But also doesn’t not exist.

what i like at Hokusai's paintings is that Mount Fuji is omnipresent, like a god dominating everything.
There were producer and sponsor too, but only Eshi was shown and recorded. It was an art production business.
Hokusai was among the most popular Eshis in Edo period and is still popular now, which is amazing.
