Those toilets are so damn heavy and overly complex lol, hate them. That milwaukee lantern is sick though I have one too. Never thought of soaking the wax ring in warm water that’s pretty slick
I gotta ask as a plumber, don't want to say master plumber of 38 yrs and I'm only 59, but why woukd u put a wax seal in warm water, if we go to do a finish tell the kids in the winter put a floor register cause gonna be a couple before we start installing fixtures Never seen the need or had a problem, installed atkewr 10000 toilets Don't believe everything you see here
After installing the side bolts to the fling with the toilet on. Is it ok for the toilet to STILL be able to be moving around because it doesn't seem secured
Never installed one of those, heard they are very difficult but that didn't look too bad. My issue is the toilet doesn't seem "tight/snug" to the floor.
I feel it slows the low flush toilet just a little causing the occasional misfire. I do t like the flush water has to leave the smooth porcelain trap way and enter the plastic double offset before entering the drainage system.
That notch in the baseboard 😂 I’ve been there, the right thing to do would be to move the flange out, but the customer doesn’t always want to pay that kind of money. Don’t tell me you left that stop either 😂 nice vid
@@iricharddrake1692 an offset flange is only used to offset away from something like a joist, and on the installation of the piping system not on the finish those toilets are longer for some reason in the back, that's why he cut the trim, by the way I'm not a big fan of those toilets
I put my first one in last week, and had to cut the 1/4 round too. Pain in the butt if you have to change a wax ring down the road and heavy too. Looks good though lol
Installed my first one today. Customer supplied and i didnt realize it was skirted until arrival. Customer was a nice guy but he wanted to watch the whole time as i deciphered the directions....fun stuff. These toilets are stupid. Installation wasnt so terrible but its honestly just Karen appeasing technology because it looks slightly better. No functional benefit whatsoever.
How is that plastic part and those screws nut thingamajig gonna hold up especially if have and you have to remove it. Or snake it out ro plunge it and it leaks where the 2 pieces come together under skirt.
Because is skirted often the supply line is on the way , be aware of that . Also kholer don’t have “standard “ parts if you need to replace something , you struggle to find the tigh one out of the ,for example ,509 different flapers they have 😂 in short kholer is bs , also toto
That's hilarious, I always ask the client when they give this shit to install, did u order replacement parts for the future, they clueslessly ask why, n I tell them home department don't sell these parts nor does lowes But pay me 145$ to go shopping, lol cause that's the hourly rate whether we driving, working, or shopping for u Buy moen, riobell, delta atleast, or all that money u think your saving, u gonna pay me to replace in less 10 yrs
You guys realize there are only three actual toilet manufacturers right? Kohler, Toto and American Standard (now bought by Lixil). Those other “brands” are just their bargain designs rebranded so HD and Lowe’s don’t have to price match.
Actually not that completed at all, as a plumbing contractor for 38 pretty successful years, watching my kids see how easy it is, makes me laugh Just looks intimidating
The customer supplied toilet wouldn’t fit .. guy told me to make it fit, which cutting the trim was the only option .. it should have been a 10 inch rough fixture

Yes sir!

Installed one years ago when I was first learning. Definitely not as bad as I thought.
It’s better than it use to be

Floor/tile uneven
I’m not a fan of them honestly
Its actually easy, specially for a professional
Seal around the toilet after you install a it'll be alright
Using this video and instructions, just installed one. Did have to cut the bolt size down. Thanks for the visuals!
lol during winter i have to do that to wax rings
You know it! 😂

Did you soak the wax ring to warm it and soften it??
Yes I have to do it in the winter
Real question why didn’t you use an offset flange instead of cutting their baseboard trim
Never thought of that I always put them in the microwave thanks for the tip

We just installed a Kohler Gleam. MUCH easier than I anticipated.

Oh yeah Kohler loves to control the parts, you can’t just go to HD and get it

Yeah I hate installing those toilets. Big pain
💯 agree
Nothing like a smaller hole to plug up after enchilada party
That tp roll in an awkward location though
I hate installing these 😂 at least your floor was level!?
Haha had that going for me!
In indian Kashmir where i lived and work we don't get gas kit .wax ring in it its shame for kohler india
It CAN'T BE THAT easy 😅
Haha 😂
No water supply need it😅😅😅😅😅😅😅can you believe it 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
Rock
Anyone else have the cam strip out on installation?
Nice.....but why
Wow you seem to have removed a lot more of the trim then you needed to.
How’s that ?
Actually not that completed at all, as a plumbing contractor for 38 pretty successful years, watching my kids see how easy it is, makes me laugh
Just looks intimidating
Just way too many unnecessary steps and the fact that you cant see the bolts when setting I’m not a fan of
I can't get the tank on!
Leaving the trim unfinished like that is not professional at all, would expect this from a backyard mechanic not you….
The customer supplied toilet wouldn’t fit .. guy told me to make it fit, which cutting the trim was the only option .. it should have been a 10 inch rough fixture
i prefer my toilet wear something more revealing.
LMAO 😂
How about a pants one😅
What’s that?
Lovedy how are you?
Thanks for watching!
