I think the funniest scenes in the series is him trying to say the words by memory, totally forgets the words and does it half assed by faking a sneeze cough and smiling like he did it perfectly.
Right!? I did that in French class when I was in college.
After dozens of viewings over the years, I still always have to pause there for a few minutes of unrestrained guffawing before I can gather myself and move on.
The very first time I saw it, when 'spinach chin' the wise man was telling him the magic words, and he absently repeated them with that glazed-eyed look, I thought, "Man, that's gonna be a problem later...."

Worked line security for Bruce at a convention, and he lives up to the hype. Stellar guy. Made sure all children were brought to the front before everyone else. 10/10

If we had gotten a part 4 to would have ended on a cliff hanger all the same while it would be great to see Ash fight with robots n matter what the franchise would always end on a cliff hanger.

Yeah, people just have to forget the Evil Dead trilogy and Darkman.
Of course, he might have some other good films I don't know about.
And that what makes Sam Raimi such a special movie director.
He knows how to make the audience watch something different,fun,funny,enjoyable and entertaining to watch.
Unlike most MCU films.
It's so fun watching these movies with Sam and Bruce's commentaries. They laughed so hard at that scene in the first where Bruce is stuck under the flimsy shelf. The commentaries are practically Honest Trailers to themselves.
Ash went though the biggest Heros journey than any other horror protagonist. His character growth between the 3 films where great to watch.

@@waisinet After everything that occurred within those 3 days/films, a drastic change isn't so surprising.
Ash was so traumatised over the course of the movies, no wonder his character changed drastically. Also the repeated severe head trauma would not help.
Bruce Campbell is truly a gift to the world.
He is genuinely happy being a B movie actor. Loves the camp and the fun that comes along with it. His biography is a fun read too.
He is a national treasure and should be a shemp in every single movie somewhere. Just for a second.
Bruce Campbell is a fantastic actor and he is so funny! His crazy facial expressions reminds me Looney Tunes characters like Wile.E Coyote! :D

It's a shame it was far better than the movie and I hate the Cliffhanger at the end of season 3 season 4 would have been so much fun

Exactly. I educated my kids. My middle child was completely disgusted. She only watched the 1st movie. My oldest loved it. We binge watched all 3 movies and the entire Ash vs Evil Dead series. It was fun. 😈

One of my fondest memories is meeting Bruce Campbell at Comic-Con in Philly in 2011. A friend of mine writes comic books, and sent me a random text that said, “Find the green room, I’m sharing a 6-pack with Bruce Campbell!”

It’s a shame MCU doesn’t really give creative control to art house directors, we shall never see a superhero flick like raimi’s Spider-Man again

To be fair, the camera no clipping doors, windows, and flying through the air was really cool and scary. Not knowing what it is that's flying around trying to kill them is pretty freaky and I loved it. I still do, I wish some movies would use that technique every now and then
Yeah, sometimes just need a a little amateurish style to make it grand.
Sometimes it needs to not be perfectly steady and perfectly on rails with its unnaturally straight movements during action scenes. They used to attach the camera to a dirt bike and chase people for real while filming to get that style.
I think that in the "Ash vs Evil dead morgue scene" I have laughed harder than anything else in my entire life.

Okay, I'm a big fan of the Evil Dead movies, I've read Bruce Campbell's first autobiography on how the movies were made (and other stuff), and have followed his and Sam Raimi's careers for years. I laughed my full head off at this. Amazing work, you guys.

It was a brilliant movie, and it really is an inspiring story too.
The first one is a legit great horror movie, the second one is a masterpiece that created a new genre, and the third one...well, Sam Raimi just wanted to have fun.
I’m surprised that the EXACT SAME OLDSMOBILE appearing in EVERY RAIMI MOVIE has not been mentioned.

omg thank you for this one! I remember being small, living in Russia of the 90's watching bits of the third movie (horribly dubbed)… scared the bejeezus out of my 5-year-old self... and made quite an impression, except I had no idea what the name of it was.. or even how to google it... all I remembered were the medieval castles, evil walking skeletons, and a mysterious book... so thank you for the walk down memory lane, and for putting a name to this childhood memory of mine of sorts :)

@@djsosonut First film is great. Second film is garbage, though apparently the director's cut is halfway decent. Third film isn't too bad. Series is really the saving grace of the franchise, though. Fourth film ties the movies and series even more closely together, and I haven't seen after that.

Yup. By Bruce Campbell's own admission, Ash is Homer Simpson levels of dumb. He has his moments but for the most part he's needlessly getting into trouble.
Evil dead was filmed here in Anson county NC. A lot of my friends were extra's. The Color Purple was filmed here too.

Loved this Honest Trailer! The best way to watch these movies is with the Commentary tracks on. Listening to Raimi, Campbell and company recalling anecdotes to the making of scenes is informative and hilarious.

3:36 notice the difference in the way the glass shatters. The first one from the original used real glass and was super dangerous. The second used a much safer sugar-based glass that shatters totally differently.
