I like how this guy just explains common sense approach weight lifting, no trendy c rap, no egotistical undertone attempting to hide, no debate over 15 different opinions on what. " the best chest workout is",, great video, which is why I instantly subscribed.
I really appreciate your guidence and honesty. With all the nonscence going on in bodybuilding its a breath of fresh air to see some one not wrapped up in any of it.
Im enjoying watching and learning these short on time series. I come from mainly a powerlifting background but working as an Industrial Electrician, i cant afford to get injuried. Over the last year ive put in alot of hours at work and often find myself too exhuasted to train, doing so I lost 35 lbs. Of muscle, of course my diet drastically slipped too as working long days i havent focused on eating as I always have. Thank you for giving me motivation and solutions to my training dilemma!
Cool advise. I have 4 months old daughter - so short of time - between he at work. I started doing elements of callisthenics and CrossFit - to shorten the time - but keep the intensity of training.
I train my upper pec with the unlocked chestpress and the barbell pinpress with a little bit long rest. I should zip along on a tempo giusto. Great many thanks for your lesson!!!
I don’t know if it’s in my head or I’m getting gains, but your tips help me so much, and it makes the most of my workouts being a OTR truck driver, thank you !
John when I tell people I follow a guy called MountainDog they always laugh because they picture some ruff tuff crazy nut but I tell them you're no joke lol. I can only follow so many RUclipsrs (quality over quantity - I'm 48 and don't have the time) so I recently dropped one (Scooby - Peter Zane) and Subscribed to you. Best f'n decision ever. Thanks AGAIN!!!!
🔴 Thank you for showing us this smart strategy in which I noticed the relation between safe range of motion when using free heavy weights and increased intensity with the superset , playing with the rest time according to the kind of exercice . Great , I like it ! I got to try that . 👍🏼😏
Okay this is awesome. I've been looking for a new quick routine because I work tens in the heat as an ironworker so I want to get off eat get in the gym get out eat and go to bed lol
Love it John! These are the type I workouts that I do pretty much most of the time. I know it’s probably not ideal ,but it works for me and my lifestyle. Thanks for another ripper video👍✌️
Perfect timing brothaaaaa..cuz today is my chest day...or as I also refer to it as .I'm training chesticles.....cuz who doesn't like chesticles... great video 💪🐷
Your Short on Time series is a map to the stars, John! Let's say one gets shoulders issues doing barbell presses, with what would you replace it? Thanks!
Never re-use the same plastic bottle over and over. The chemicals from the plastic are released into the water. To confirm the quality of the plastic bottle check the number of the bottle at the bottom.
I found that doing the dumbbell floor press with one arm allows you to go heavier while making it easier to get into position by using both arms. Love the content John!
Just found your channel! Just gotta say you are an incredible motivation and I enjoy listening to your input and explanation of exercise and health/fitness. Subbed!
What's up bro love your short on time workout haven't seen a video from you lately so I'm going to finish watching this going to watch your shoulder video and whatever else you put up just finished working out today did upper body always great inspiration and motivation keep up the good work bro
The bottle is a one time use. If you look into that triangle there’s a number inside it that is what indicates how many times you are to use them. It’s for your health because they can leach out what it’s made of. I love your workouts and incorporate many of them into my workouts 🤘
Nice to hear you care about environment but if i'm not mistaken you should change the plastic bottle every week or so. Also i love these short on time videos. There are days that i don't feel like spending 1+ hour on gym.
Just ordered the recovery stack. Quick question john, do you take the recovery during, or after workout? Thermo burn really had me sweating today on the row machine. Love the simplicity, effectiveness of the ingredients! Great company John!
One of the ways my buddy and I make a bench press "heavier" is we bend our knees and put our feet up so they're basically on the bench seat. It takes hip drive out of the movement and puts all of the weight on your chest.
You want dense try rest and pause old school. It's done as a last exercise for the given group. Pick up weight 10 RM drop 20 %. Now do 10, 9, 8, etc all the way to last one and on the last one all the way out. RI 10 seconds. Not 9 or 11 , TEN. One run only. After that you can call paramedics.
great video! is it possible to get a video where you do some kind of circuit training. a lot of people think that circuit training is only for fat loss, doing high reps light weight. but a bobybuilding circuit training style, like chest-back, shoulders arms, back and shoulders etc... thanks
Love your videos, knowledge and insight. I’m curious, are you familiar with Doug Brignole and his perspective on chest training? The research he presents states that decline presses, specifically with dumbbells, are the best movement for overall pec development. I’ve read various EMG studies that support Doug’s opinion, and based on my own experience, decline dumbbell presses yielded the best results. I made the best progress by removing incline movements entirely from my chest routine and focusing on decline with some flat.
Love the video, ideally how often would you want to do these types of workouts? I.e. only when you’re short on time, or if you want to change up the way you’re training for a bit?

the sequence at the start is why I like pin loaded machines when training alone; makes strip sets etc. a breeze.
This just makes me want to hit chest today but it's boulder shoulder day! Keep cranking the out John!

Easy to get a lot of time under tension on failure sets working out fast like this. I think.
Im sure you have tried it. 8x8 30 second rest Vince stuff. Pretty intense workout and fast.

good
❗️😱 Wtf 290lbs that’s his warm up 😱❗️
John you know what they say right ? No hurt No Big shirt ...lookin good brotha
Nice.
That is the only way anyone should be doing dumbbell flies and press. Back on the floor will save your rotator cuff.
Who said you have to be 1-2 hrs in the gym to get a good workout? Imma try that bench variation.
Loved it 👏👏👏👏👏♥️
I like pyramids low to heavy back to low and done.
