  • In this video, I walk through removing the stock RSX Type S exhaust manifold, and compare it to my new DC Sports Ceramic 4-2-1 header. I also go through the new OEM Honda Hardware and show you how I put it back on my Acura RSX Type S. Hopefully this will have more flow through the exhaust system.

If you need an exhaust manifold gasket that's not OEM, here's an amazon link to the one I got, Beck/Arnley 037-8083 Exhaust Manifold Gasket: amzn.to/3U0ibaD

Hey RevCircle, love your video! I’m contemplating on getting headers for my 03 type s. I was looking at this header but I hear it’s not worth it for the price, that they crack easy and barely make a difference. Would like to hear your opinion and review of this!

Thanks for the encouragement to make more videos, Jesus. Glad you liked it. For me, getting the ceramic DC header was about getting a tad bit more performance, but still be legal. Also my issue with the stock exhaust manifold. Since this one has a carb legal sticker and still works with the cat, it'll pass smog, of course it won't make nearly as much power as a cat delete race header. As for how it's been holding up, I've rev-ed it several times the past few months at 8k rpm and it's still holding up, granted it's only been a 1000 or so miles. I think this has a bit more flex than a standard race header due to the doughnut gasket connection to the cat. Imo, the best way to make sure it won't crack is to make sure it doesn't get too much movement from the engine power. I'd probably recommend getting stronger motor mounts or re-freshed ones if you got a high milage engine, particularly the main engine mount near the passenger side which I notice moves more than the rest. Honestly, not sure the reason why ppl say the ceramic header cracks, it seems like it could be heat or movement. I know for heat, there is a break-in period for ceramic products where you're suppose to slowly warm it up for a period of time at idle or drive it normally before it can withstand those super high temps. At the end of the day, it's still too early for me to know if mine will exhibit the same issues as others, but a risk i'm willing to take. Happy to let you know how it holds up in the next year or so, feel free to msg me on IG then. This is just my thoughts, but of many opinions out there.

As far as making a difference, it's marginal power but still fun for me. My setup was with the a Spoon N1 exhaust (publishing that video tomorrow), this DC header, and a new cat. I did feel a subtle difference in power and sound, but it could be from the other exhaust components.

@@revcircle ohh okay I see. I mean yeah, it’s a small header so there’s not going to be much difference. But if there’s somewhat of a noticeable difference, then I think it’s good. I’m not planning to go big on the car, just simple mods. I have an invidia n1 catback with a brand new catalytic converter and an injen short ram intake. Nothing too crazy. If possible, could you maybe upload a video when you drive or when revving it? That’d be helpful. Thanks!

@@JesusFlores-js9ru Ah yeah, we might have very similar setups. I'm liking the power. I'll try to make a video soon. It's raining the next few days/weeks in my area, but next time it's dry, I'll make one and upload one up.

@@revcircle Thank you sir, you’ve been very helpful. I think I might get that header than. But I look forward to your videos!

Have you had any problems getting a smog done even with the carb sticker?

For this one, I havent had to do smog yet. I'm due for a smog probably early next year if you wanna check back then. For carb stickers in general, my previous smog was with the K&N typhoon intake and it passed no problem.

Are you asking about the gasket from the DC header to the engine? If so, I used a Beck/Arnley 037-8083: amzn.to/42x183e
However, the OEM one is 18115-PRB-A01
