      Thank you! Dr. Taylor. I am in my 60s and have not done my self breast exams correctly. Standing up most times, and in the shower! I have also been so paranoid I would do it daily, hoping I wouldn’t miss anything. You have been a wonderful teacher. Thank you! Thank you! Learning sooo much!❤️😀

    • @MenopauseTaylor

      If you have no cycles (no periods), you just pick a day of the month and check on the same day each month.
      If you have cycles (periods), you check just after the period finishes.
      Most women with a Mirena IUD either have no bleeding at all or they have constant spotting.

    Thanks so much for this video. I’m a 60 year old woman and have always struggled with performing my breast exams properly. My breasts are lumpy, as most are as you described, so I never really knew what to feel for. Your video gave the explicit instructions every woman needs. By the way, I have almost yearly physicals, and in my earlier years would visit a gynecologist, but none of those medical providers ever gave such detailed instruction. Kudos to you! 😊

    Confused: I idon't fall into a continuous ( non cycler) or a cycler category. I insert progesterone on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. So when do I do my breast exam? *"I assure you that if you feel a rock or a pebble, you will be able to draw it." That is THEE most helpful thing I have ever been told about what to look for when doing a self exam!

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  8 месяцев назад +1

      I know that you will definitely be able to feel a pebble.
      Your regimen really throws a wrench into your breast exam success. You should consider scheduling a consultation with me at MenopauseTaylor.ME to address your regimen options that fulfill all your goals.

      @@MenopauseTaylor If I had the means [and maybe I will-- someday] I definitely would! I think you are amazing! Your videos helped me choose my whole regimine. As far as the progesterone portion: I had considered getting an IUD. However, shortly before I did, a study appeared in the jornal of endcrinology where they used dye which showed the synthetic progestin did not just stay in the uterus and immediately surrounding tissue, but also travelled to the breast. And I thought: Nope.I really don't wasnt to mess with synthetic progestins at all. And somehow I just don't want to take progesterone by mouth every day. Instead I just insert it before I go to bed (found the off label dosing on an Aussie medical site). I get a uterine ultrasound every year and my lining is thinner than before staring hrt.

    • @rosej9686

      @@rosej9686 yeah not in my case. Mine are hard and have had them for decades. I had a mammogram 4 years ago and they are just lumpy. Some fibroids and some hard dense lumps. I think my next mammogram is this year.

      @@MenopauseTaylor Thank you so much Dr.Taylor....Im currently on my journey of educating myself on menopause through your videos. I live in India and upto 4 months back, I did not know anything about Perimenopause. My understanding was that my period would stop one day and that would be menopause. 4 months back I started feeling sick after my period were delayed by 10 days. On visiting around 4 gynecologist doctors, they said that im in perimenopause. I started with Vaginal atrophy, wherein there were days that i couldn’t even walk. On the days that my period is due i get a UTI, which is followed by a dose of antibiotics prescribed. If not for you, i would be lost. Thank you for educating us on a subject that is never spoken about and that is looked upon as a taboo. Stay Safe....Stay Blessed!
