I’m so irritated. Now am at the end of my window (10-11 years post) and NEVER has estrogen/HRT been a part of the conversation at doctor’s visits. This needs to change. Thank you Menopause Barbie for all those you are helping.
Your situation is very common (and unfair). But please do not assume that it's too late for you to manage your menopause your way. This is precisely the kind of thing for which I do one-on-one consultations. You definitely need one. I cannot tailor things specifically to you in a comment box. It requires much more information than you can give me here, and you deserve much more information than I can give you here. No two women are alike, and addressing your situation requires tailoring all the facts specifically to YOU. I do them all via online video conferencing. You can schedule at MenopauseTaylor.ME. I look forward to meeting you and helping you.
Hi Dr. Barbie!! With tears in my eyes I’m writing to you want to thank you because I’m learning so much and I am in the process of getting my hormone therapy no doctor ever told me or told my mother that this would benefit us and now my mother is suffering from dementia and Alzheimer’s oh how I wish I could turn back the hands of Time to help her. Thank you so much! You have inspired me to help other people including my sisters and my brothers and of course my husband and anyone that will listen. ❤️❤️❤️
My periods stopped mid-fifties. I'm almost 62 and just started phyto-estrogen about a week ago. I hope it's not too late for me? I plan to watch the rest of your videos, but it will take time and I just need to feel some hope. For years I was terrified of cancer from estrogen, but now my symptons are too bad to ignore.
Please, please, schedule a consultation with me. It will be so much more efficient than just watching the videos. In a consultation, I will tailor everything specifically to YOU. I'm in the business of educating you about everything you need to know and do in order to get exactly what you want for managing your menopause your way. So, here's how a consultation works: 1) You would schedule a one-on-one consultation at my website, MenopauseTaylor.ME, choosing a time that is convenient for you. I do consultations on Skype, FaceTime. Facebook Messenger, What’s App, and the phone. 2) I would send you an email to confirm that you are scheduled for the stated time, and invite you to send me as much information about yourself as you please. You can make it brimming with details and tell me about your reproductive life, any gynecologic problems you've had, your symptoms of peri-menopause, and your symptoms of post-menopause. You can include all your fears, concerns, and goals for your menopause management. You may also send me any labs, mammogram results, bone density results, etc. that you would like me to include in designing your protocol. If you want to adhere to a certain category of management options (herbs or diet & lifestyle, or whatever), you should tell me that. I will give you a 5-day deadline for sending all materials, and will not accept anything after that date. 3) I'll get busy creating a document that gives you all the education you need to understand absolutely everything, points out the pros and cons of each option, and tailors it all to YOU, using the information you have provided. The document will be loooooong. Most are over 30 pages. 4) I will send you the document by email 72 hours before your consultation. You will benefit greatly by reading it in advance. Light bulbs will go off like crazy, and if you're like most women, you'll feel that you've already gotten your money's worth. 5) During your consultation, we will review the document and address any issues you want in order to fine tune everything and determine your best options. I'll tell you exactly how to find the right kind of professional, how to have the conversation in order to get what you want, and the nuances of things like guidelines and insurance. I leave nothing unaddressed. 6) You will go to a professional of your choosing in order to get the actual hormones or whatever you choose to use. 7) After the first consultation, I'll hold your hand (forever if you want me to). In other words, you'll be able to schedule mini-consultations (15-minute or 30-minute, in addition to full consultations) whenever you need to. I'll keep records of your situation. Most women schedule mini-consultation whenever they go to the doctor and don't understand what he or she said, or why. I translate. I make sense of everything. Most schedule mini-consultation whenever they have a new test and they want me to explain the results. And all schedule mini-consultation whenever their situation changes and they need to re-weigh and re-balance their options. The time you spend with me will make everything about working with any other professional so easy. And they will love the fact that you have an actual education rather than a bunch of misconceptions that you got from the Internet. If your initial hormone regimen is not right, you'll want to consult with me before going to your doctor. I can prepare you for what to expect and what to request. So, that's my role. And nobody else on earth does this kind of thing but me. So, I hope you schedule a consultation and let me hold your hand (figuratively). I hope to meet you soon!
This is the most important video to me and it scared the hell out of me. It thought i could go on without any pills or supplements. Why does nobody but you tells us about this?!
Hoping you will address for those of us gals whose window has been closed, sealed, and will not budge even with a crowbar, how we can possibly undo the damage done to our bodies by depleting it of estrogen for all these years. Hoping there's a solution for us :) Sort of feeling like I've missed the boat :(
Donna Schwab ....boy, do I understand. It’s very sobering isn’t it? I’m a believer in being positive, finding the joy in life, however this causes me some sleepless night....my best to you.
It's never too late. It's just a matter of whether you can use estrogen to accomplish your goals or whether you'll need to use something other than estrogen. No doubt, estrogen is the most efficient route. But it's not the only route. This series is all about managing YOUR menopause YOUR way. There are many different reasons your way is unique. I'll teach you about options in all categories: diet, lifestyle, vitamins, minerals, botanicals, herbs, hormonal meds, non-hormonal meds, acupuncture, & hypnosis. They all have limitations, advantages, & disadvantages.
The reason women around 60 haven't heard of this is because of the 2001 WHI study (which I'll present in detail). It scared patients and physicians away from estrogen. And now, 16 years later, although we know that it was entirely misleading, the fears have remained, and may forever change womens' futures. Th other problem is that, in the 16 years since that study, physicians in training haven't been taught about this, either. It's a real problem.
Because of you Dr. Taylor, I am able to take really good control of my immediate and long-term health despite having entered premature, surgical menopause in a very traumatic way because of an ovarian cancer diagnosis, losing my organs, chemotherapy, being a single mom, thinking my life was going to be over, but having no clue about menopause and never even having been to the doctor my entire life, in other words having zero experience with the medical world and how to advocate for myself etc. Despite these horrible and traumatic circumstances, I am still able to make the best out of my menopause because I can start 1 year into my window of opportunity. That makes me so so happy in a difficult time in my life and gives me so much hope for my future, also because one of my character traits is that I really struggle with coping with missed/wasted opportunities and easily become bitter and depressed as a result. Thanks a million times for what you do ❤️ pretty much saving my life here. I know you are so right because I literally saw pictures of my grandma's brain shrinking maybe half the size? on scans in a time lapse. She had Alzheimer's in the end. I'm sorry if I'm spamming your comment section. I will try to keep it down 🙈 I actually just remembered that I was asking God to lead me to the right people and the right information I need for my health in this difficult time of my life. He's sure taking care of me (once again). Cause there has sure nobody else been telling me about all of this 😆😆
I want yo thank you so much Dr . Taylor . I started an estrogen patch on 5/1/19 I'm so happy I watched your videos and still watching and learning so much . This patch is helping me with my hot flashes and moods so far even though it's been a few days . Thank you so much for all your education . Your the best .
Ah, I love it when I hear happiness like this. My goal in educating you is to give you the power to manage your menopause your way ... with confidence. And I can definitely "hear" confidence in your words.
i am figuratively dying. the deadline for your seminar was the day i had my last cycle. thankfully i found you while my window of opportunity is still open. so grateful. at first i thought you were a little wacky, but i kept watching imagining how fun it would be to be a juror in one of your trials. now i am watching wishing you were my sister. when i am all caught up, i would love to have a consultation. i am having the hardest time finding a doctor who knows a small fraction of what you know. thank you so much for all your hard work.
Thank you so much Dr. Taylor for your detailed videos, it really helps me a lot. I am sharing your videos to my family & friends to bring awareness about Menopause and the diseases. I wish one day I can meet you in person. All the women really needs your knowledge & wisdom about menopause. ❤️
Before watching this video, I thought that I could choose to do nothing about estrogen, but now I will use your life saving advice to choose what kind of estrogen to get. Long live Dr. Menopause Barbie!! A from Japan
Regocnizing that my window is definitely closed.....I am ovarian cancer survivor, nobody expected my to live longer than 5 years after surgery. Now 15 years went by. I always thought estrogen has almost killed me and was happy to get rid of. What a misconception.
You are an amazing educator. Just learned of you from an interview with Dominique. I'm already learning so much. Can't help but wonder why this information is not shared widely and freely . . . and it will be - thanks to you!!
Joanne, Welcome aboard to "Menopause Taylor University." You'll find that if you start at the very first video (going by the number after each title), you'll understand absolutely everything. And you'll be shocked at what you didn't know, and delighted that you now do know. Each video builds on the last. It's just like school: You had to learn the alphabet before you could read. And nowadays, there are so many overwhelming misconceptions that women mistake as facts ... that you just don't know what you don't know. I respond to all comments here on RUclips daily. So, I will answer all your questions ... but I'll also know if you aren't watching the videos in order. (I'm like your mother. I have eyes in the back of my head!) And if you need me to help you tailor anything to your personal situation, you can schedule a one-on-one consultation at MenopauseTaylor.ME any time. I do them all online.
Dear menopause Taylor, I just want to say that I love your videos, and I have learned so much about managing my menopause from them. I am 53 yrs and I had been suffering with very intense hot flushes day and night for a year . I have tried everything but nothing worked for me except the HRT. Its great , I am sleeping really well now, and I am already feeling more energetic and less pain in my joints. I started the HRT for the first time about 4 weeks ago . I was prescribed femoston - conti 1 mg / 5mg at first but because I had an allergic reaction to it (burning itchy hives ) think it was starting to lose the good effect on me too. Anyway , I stopped taking femoston and then was prescribed elleste duet conti 2mg/mg , . I take a tablet in the morning and it is usually at the end of the day my skin starts getting more sensitive. I get itchy patches on back , but not the burning red ,thankfully that isn’t happening now . Am hoping I can stay on this wonderful stuff , but wondering if you know how long my body will adapt to it . I have a question : is this itchy skin a normal reaction before your body may adjust to hrt.? And how long should I try this before I give up and try another? It’s just been two days on this new HRT. I would like to change the time I take the tablet thinking I would prefer bedtime . Would that be ok? Please can you advice me in any way what the options are , many thanks and please keep doing your good work in helping us women out there, Many thanks, Cath
Hi dear Menopause Barbie! As everyone here I can't find enough words to thank you for what you are doing for us. I am going through peri menopause at my 41 with no symptoms yet and don't know if I should start the HRT now. I would appreciate if you could do more videos about early menopause which has nothing to do with any surgeries like mine. Thank you
Thank you sooo much for these videos!! Wow….who knew. I’m sooo depressed (and angry). My Dr never, ever mentioned this! I’m now 65 😢. Pretty sure “my” window has CLOSED. Oh wait - I can take it for those 5 symptoms YAY! But sadly I have osteoporosis. 😢
You should definitely schedule a consultation with me at MenopauseTaylor.ME. So many women who assume that their window has closed discover that they are still excellent candidates for HRT if they want it. All consultations are via video conferencing, so it doesn't matter where you live.
Thank you once again, Dr. Barbie, I was remiss in thanking you for your lengthy response in an earlier video, you took the time to help me once again. I did read the Menopause window book, for me it was very sobering, as was this video from you. Realizing that my fear of estrogen caused me to miss my window of estrogen opportunity. I’m struggling to figure out a plan now. I’m 64, had my last period at age 52, so you see I’m out of luck, so to speak. I thank you for being here for us, for the women that can STILL take advantage of estrogen supplementation! I’m going to go ahead now and purchase your seminar video. Sending much love. ❤️❤️❤️
Cindy, The seminar DVD will help you sooooo much. You'll get the big picture, connect all the dots, and really see how useful and critical all this menopause information is. The videos will delve into individual topics in great detail, and you'll still enjoy them. But knowing where it's all going will really put you ahead. I really wish every woman realized the value of watching or attending my seminar. It's a real life-saver.
Menopause Taylor ....thank you!! I’m getting the DVD...this morning I explained to my husband, how I was right at the beginning of menopause when the dreaded study came out, and all of the estrogen fears took hold, I an now applying estrogen cream...I’m already feeling a positive change, ( I researched my brains out, with your help) ....thank you!
I recently started binge watching your videos and the outfit in this one is my favorite so far! Very pretty. I may schedule a one on one consultation soon. Looking forward to it. 😃
Thank god. I just turned 43 and found out I’m post. My hormones were 160s I was so worried I missed that window. My obgyn won’t give me estrogen I am not sure why now I thought I missed that window since no dr for the past 4 years could tell me what was really wrong I was given every medication under the sun for depression anxiety sleep headache every symptom listed I had. But no dr looked at menopause because of my age. Apparently I’ve been post for a year and a half
You are PREMATURELY post-menopausal ... which will have profound negative effects on your entire future if you do not know how to manage it. PLEASE consider scheduling a consultation with me. You have not received the care you need or deserve.
Dr Taylor, thank you again for a very informative tutorial. I am still in “the window of opportunity” so I have just bought the book by Marche Seibel and will read it this Christmas...no time to waist! May I wish you a Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy new year. 💐😘❤️❤️
This makes me so happy. I love it when I can make a difference in someone's life. Videos 80 - 90 will all be on the estrogen window. You'll understand everything about it.
Ha! You make me laugh. I wear normal gym attire at the gym. And I have included a variety of gym videos in this education. Juts keep watching in order and you'll get them at the appropriate times.
I am so sad I missed the cut off date for the giveaway. I hope you have one in the new . Thanks again for all of your wonderful and interesting videos. I am buying that book on Amazon tonight.
I hope you are not getting this twice... I thought I had pressed ‘send’ this morning when I wrote it, but don’t see it here, so I’m trying again. After finding out about you from the Hot and Flashy You Tube channel, I decided to watch this tutorial and have been feeling extremely down ever since. I am 62 this year and getting the awful news that I had missed my window of opportunity was pretty devastating. Like a lot of women, I never really realized the importance of Oestrogen and although I’m seeing some changes I don’t like in my skin and other areas of my body, I always thought it was just because I’d been pretty lazy about exercising during the past year and I could easily ‘get it back’ once I started working out again and watching what I eat. Seems this isn’t the case and that makes me incredibly sad.
Susan, Please schedule a consultation with me at MenopauseTaylor.ME. I'll tailor all the information specifically to YOU and determine your best options. You may have many more than you realize. And that would turn your sad to glad.
My periods stopped when I was 46 I'm now 60. I have 20 of the 22 symptoms and here in France menopause is not taken seriously by the predominantly male gynaecologists practicing, my doctor's advice to me was get on with it we do not prescribe HRT.
PLEASE schedule a consultation with me at MenopauseTaylor.ME. I will tailor all the facts specifically to YOU and school you in precisely how to have a conversation with your doctor. I live in France.
Just found out about your tutorials, so I'm somewhat dismayed. I am currently 66 years old, have been in menopause for about 17 years, so I suspect my window of opportunity may have passed me by. Could an HRT regimen now help me with the secondary benefits of Estrogen? Also I still have all my female organs, so I suspect I would need Progesterone, too, if it's not too late. Perhaps you've answered this in another of your tutorials; if so, please direct me to the correct one. Thanks so much for the education you're bringing to the world!
This is precisely the kind of thing that warrants a consultation so that I can tailor everything specifically to YOU. You can schedule one at MenopauseTaylor.ME, and I do them al via video. You probably have lots of options, and I'll help you discover them.
I’m grateful I found your video channel! I am a subscriber now. I was watching a video with you on Dominique’s channel is how I discovered you and it’s been so timely! I am currently on HRT, .0375 estradiol patch which was recently increased from .025 estradiol patch. I had my hormone levels recently checked and I was in the “normal” range for post menopause. My anxiety was off the charts, palpitations and insomnia have been also included. Would a higher dose be more beneficial and alleviate these symptoms? I did see in another of your videos you mentioned preventative benefits with using a minimum dose of .050 HRT patch. I wish more doctors were educated on the topic of menopause. Thank you for sharing your wisdom!!! Blessings! ❤️
Vonnie, PLEASE, please schedule a consultation with me. The is no such thing as "a normal range of hormone levels for post-menopause"! I will help you so much in a consultation. So much of what you wrote tells me that you definitely need one. You can schedule at MenopauseTaylor.ME, and I will tailor everything specifically to YOU. And, as for my videos, be sure to start with video 1 and watch them all in order, because this channel is really "MenopauseUniversity." You cannot learn what you deserve to know if you jump around in random order. Please believe me on this.
@@MenopauseTaylor thank you Dr. Taylor. I definitely would like to do that. I have an appt scheduled with my gp and she did say she would do whatever I needed. I have watched a few of your videos and plan on watching more today in sequence from the beginning. I’m only seeing the starting video at Wishy-Washy Effects of phytoestrogens in Menopause then to #27 Which Estrogen Steal the Show in Menopause. I truly appreciate your response and need help getting this all figured out. Blessings, ❤️
Dear Barbie, Truly, I cannot thank you enough for everything that I am learning from you! I am in the U.K. and I since I first discovered your utube channel, about one month ago, I have watched every one of your videos in order, up to tutorial number 109 so far! I love watching your fascinating videos. I would really like to ask you a question please.. I am 50 years old and I think I am probably post-menopausal...but I’m not quite sure! My periods stopped for 15 months, during which time I started to notice hot flashes, along with several other of those 22 signs & symptoms of menopause! But then, what confused me is that after 15 months without any periods I had some slight ‘spotting’ that lasted for less than half a day. That was 9 months ago now and I have not had any periods throughout the last 9 months. Does it sound to you like I would fall under the category of being ‘post-menopausal’? Sending you love & warmest wishes XX
This is precisely the kind of thing that warrants a consultation. It requires me to get a lot more information from you so that I can tailor it all specifically to you. And there is much more to it than what you've given me here. Please consider scheduling a consultation at MenopauseTaylor.ME. You will benefit so much and be so glad you had one. I look forward to meeting you and helping you.
@@michellecrowley3749 I help many women in Australia. You have many options. If you want to address the, schedule a consultation with me at MenopauseTaylor.ME. I do them all online.
I love the pink! I wish I would have known about you before! I have been in menopause for 4 years and only recently started using Estradiol.I did it because of consultations I had with an Osteoporosis expert. He taught me about the window of opportunity but none of my doctors did. I was literally miserable without estrogen. But my symptoms started 2 years into menopause. Actually I had some symptoms tat I did not associate with menopause at the time but not the normal symptoms I hear and read about. My symptoms did not become obvious until 2 years into menopause and they were just awful! As you know I never had hot flashes and when I hear people complain about them I feel like shaking them and telling them to wake up from their dream state! I have highlighters and post it notes too! Many pretty colors especially hot pink! I guess that makes me nerd too! Great video!
Jennifer, my dear, This is precisely the kind of thing for which I do one-on-one consultations. You definitely need one. I cannot tailor things specifically to you in a comment box. It requires much more information than you can give me here, and you deserve much more information than I can give you here. No two women are alike, and addressing your situation requires tailoring all the facts specifically to YOU. I do them all via video conferencing. You can schedule at MenopauseTaylor.ME. I look forward to meeting you and helping you.
I have missed the window of opportunity! 😩 I’m 65, never done HRT and now have a -3.4 bone density score. My doctor wants to put me on Bioiidentical HTR. Do I have time to see if this will work?
Laurel, You have some severe misunderstandings that are going to cost you precious time that could result in a fracture of your spine or hip. PLEASE, PLEASE schedule a consultation with me at MenopauseTaylor.ME, and I will explain exactly what your situation means, all your options for managing it, and how to have the conversation with your doctor. There is soooooo much more to this than you could possibly ever imagine. And, without a consultation, you are likely to go about it in precisely the wrong way and burb your bridges. I cannot give you the help you deserve in a comment box. But I definitely can in a consultation.
Monica, Are you still having trouble with this? My staff corrected the oversight. You should be able to find the link in the description box and on my website.
Menopause Taylor yes, thank you so much for checking! I am now able to sign up. You are the best (no, really-I mean that). Cheers to you during this holiday season.
I went into postmenopause with super high estrogen. it happens. Slowly dropped. we dont all need to up our estrogen to be healthy. some of us thrive in low estrogen. especially when you have suffered severe endo and adonymosis from period 1. Ive never felt better 2 years past it all 🙂
Hi Dr. Barbie, for women with no uterus but have their ovaries how do they know when they are/have reached Post Menopause (because they can't use their last period as a reference point)?
Remember, there are 22 signs and symptoms of menopause. They constitute your body's way of talking to you. It's saying, "Hey, you, I'm missing something I need!" I covered this waaaay back in video 11, entitled, "How Will I Know When Menopause Comes a'Knockin'?" Michelle, please don't hesitate to schedule a consultation with me to tailor everything specifically to YOU. All you have to do is schedule at MenopauseTaylor.ME.
Hi I want to thank you so much for this information but I have a question, what if you have had a hysterectomy and have been on Vival the Dot every sense but stop using it in 2019 due to a GP not giving it to me , so now in 2022 life is horrible I’m having almost every symptom from A to Z I’m very depressed sad angry I have no energy no want to do anything mad angry I’m having a lot of pain in my legs back hands feet hips . Things are really bad and if things don’t get better and this is what I have to look forward to the end . I don’t know how I’m going to keep going on. So if I can find a new doctor to prescribe me the hormones will I start getting the benefits from them thank you for your time
Carol, This is precisely the kind of thing that warrants a consultation. I'll tailor everything specifically to YOU so that you know exactly how to go about getting what you want. You deserve so much better than your current situation. Please schedule a MenopauseTaylor.ME. I do them all via video conferencing, so it doesn't matter where you live.
I am afraid to say this out loud...but I suffer from VERY FEW symptoms of menopause. I am 53 and my periods stopped about 3 years ago. I still have all my "parts". After watching all your videos in order up to this point, I started searching the NAMS website for a specialist in my area. I FOUND NONE. I want to start HRT for the long term benefits, before my estrogen window of opportunity closes, but my GYN doesn't recommend HRT unless the symptoms are unbearable. Then, if the symptoms warrant HRT, the dose prescribed is very low. So my questions for you, DR BARBIE, are: What is the lowest dose I can take of estrogen/progesterone to help prevent life threatening diseases even though I don't have symptoms? Are you able to prescribe HRT after a personal consultation? Are you still offering consultations?
PLEASE schedule a consultation with me. This is not about how many or how severe your symptoms happen to be. The women with the fewest symptoms have the most diseases. In a consultation, I will school you in precisely how to get what you want. I cannot do so in a comment box. I do all consultations online.
What about Progesterone deficiency’??? I’m past menopause (early 50s) and my progesterone was low which was giving me horrible headaches, but they got better when I increased my Progesterone.
Low progesterone is precisely what causes headaches at the time of PMS. BUT progesterone has absolutely NOTHING to do with the Estrogen Window of Opportunity (which is the topic of this video). The Estrogen Window of Opportunity is all about the 3 fatal diseases that result from ESTROGEN deficiency: Heart attack, Osteoporosis, and Alzheimer's. So you are confusing symptoms of PERI-menopause (progesterone deficiency) with symptoms of POST-menopause (estrogen deficiency). And you are confusing symptoms with fatal diseases. If you want to be sure you are really clear about everything to avoid making critical mistakes that can have devastating effects on the rest of your life, consider scheduling a consultation with me at MenopauseTaylor.ME. And, no matter what, be sure to watch all my videos in order, starting with video #1. Otherwise you sabotage your entire menopause education.
Hello, I appreciate your videos. I have a question about the window of opportunity. Would you clarify something for me. I am 11 years post menopausal, however I had used a low-dose HRT the first five years. So I did have some estrogen in my window but not the level that you recommend. How does that affect the window of opportunity?
It kept your window open, even if you took too low a dosage to prevent diseases. You should consider having a consultation with me to determine YOUR specific benefits & risks of HRT at this point.
Question: I am taking a combo of estrogen/testosterone(cream), and progesterone(capsule). About two years ago my gyn put me on a thyroid med even though blood work showed normal levels. He felt it could be optimized with a small dose of thyroid med. about six months later I went to a naturopathic dr who put me on a different type of thyroid med to complement the other. With that I have noticed my hair thinning for about two years but the last two months have been significant and other symptoms have arisen like dry mouth and dry eyes. I stopped taken all thyroid meds and supplements (I was taking quite a few various supplements) and will see my naturopathic today to address. What is your take on the symptoms I am demonstrating? Is it possible not enough estrogen? Thank you!
Sherri, I am so proud of you! YES! It absolutely sounds like you are not taking enough estrogen. And it makes perfect sense. Think about it: If you first began hormones during peri-menopause, you didn't need much to do the trick. But, as time marched on and your body completely stopped producing estrogen, your original dosage of estrogen just isn't enough. Another factor is this: Thyroid hormone replacement can change the availability of estrogen hormone replacement. In other words, if your thyroid is not working properly or you take a thyroid supplement, it can change how much estrogen you need. I think you should use your GYNECOLOGIST and ENDOCRINOLOGIST for these issues, not your Naturopath. Use your Naturopath for your nutritional guidance. By using your gynecologist for this and your Naturopath for that, you're confusing the issue.
Menopause Taylor hee hee....I took control and stopped the thyroid meds before I met with her. My hair has stopped falling out although Im still monitoring it as there was some today after washing but not as much. The doctor agreed and said that was fine to stop taking thyroid meds. She is having me get blood work to check my hormones although I had blood work in August and feel like my hormones are balanced but I will see. I'm thinking I might need to increase my estrogen just a bit. I do have a question for you. You mentioned an endocrinologist for hormone balancing? I am seeing a Naturopathic but think an endocrinologist might be better? What does my secret consultant think? Lol thank you! You are an awesome lady.
Here are the differences between the various professionals: An ENDOCRINOLOGIST handles all the hormones in your body: Thyroid, diabetes, hormones from y0ur brain, etc.But they don't focus specifically, or even heavily, on female hormones. A GYNECOLOGIST handles only the hormones that are involved with your female reproductive tract. They are much more specialized in menopause and female hormones than any other professional. A NATUROPATH focuses on nutrition. They are not medical doctors. For your female hormones, you are best off going to a gynecologist, preferably one who specializes in menopause. If you live in North America, here's how you can find one: Go to menopause.org (That's the North American Menopause Society) Click on the tab "For Women." Click on "Find a Menopause Practitioner." Put in your zip code. All the menopause specialist near you will pop up. GO to one of them if you can. They all eat, drink, and dream menopause, just like I do.
Many women have IUDs that stop periods. You don't have to know when you began menopause exactly anymore than you had to know when you began puberty exactly. Puberty begins with breast buds, then pubic hair, them periods. Pinpointing the exact point in time is completely unnecessary (and practically impossible). Don't get so caught up in the minutia that you miss the beggar picture. The goal is to know that menopause is going to happen. There are 22 signs & symptoms (video 11), only one of which has anything at all to do with your periods. If you're not watching my videos in order, starting with the very first one, you're shooting yourself in the foot. When you start experiencing the other 21 signs and symptoms of menopause, you know something's up. And that's when you need to start managing your menopause, which will last for the rest of your life.
Actually - This statement is no longer true. Please update. After the study of 10,000,000 women 65 and over found that it benefited women to start HRT. It's never too late. This information needs updating!
I agree with you. But, you will find that in practice, doctors adhere to this limited time frame. And you need to know that so that you don't encounter pitfalls in how you go about requesting what you want. My goal is to help you avoid burning bridges.
What if you used Vagfem from 2010 until then premarin cream and estrodil cream off on to Present. Does the window still apply to take oral low dose estrogen. No period due to Hysterectomy but have ovaries but suffered hot flashes 2012.
Cherie, This is precisely the kind of thing for which I do one-on-one consultations. You definitely need one. No two women are alike, and addressing your situation requires tailoring all the facts specifically to YOU. In other words, you'll be able to schedule mini-consultations (30-minute, in addition to full consultations) whenever you need to.
Hi dr. Barbie. I am 56 years old 12 years of full menopause, never been on HRT. A year ago my dr. put me on Prempro 0.3 mg/ 1.5 mg I took it for 6 months then stopped, I was scared to take it, I was heavy smoker. 6 months ago my dr. put me on Premarin Vaginal Cream 30gm. and didn't like it.. I quite smoking. My question is. Can I go back to Prempro after all these years or it to late for me? Thank you.
Mary, You are still a candidate for taking HRT if you so desire. PLEASE have a consultation with me before you do anything, because you are missing some critical information based on what you've told me here. I do them all via video conferencing, so it doesn't matter where you live. You can schedule one at MenopauseTaylor.ME,
Thank you very much for your reply. I was at my gynecologist office today, I m back on Prempro 0.3 mg/ 1.5 mg. I told her my periods stopped 12 years ago and I also told her about estrogen window of opportunity. She said you cant still be on HRT 👍
You are awesome! I wish I found you a long time ago. I had a hysterectomy at age 40 and immediately went on HRT. At was age 50 I thought 10 years was enough and slowly took myself off (after finding you, probably not my best decision). But shortly after that I started on a weekly estradiol patch 0.025 mg. And am 58 now. Am I getting estrogen with this? And how is the best way to increase testosterone? I need that because my desire for sex in minimal. I would like my sex life back.
Your estrogen dosage is NOT adequate, and you need to understand why. Please, please don't ignore this. This is precisely the kind of thing for which I do one-on-one consultations. You definitely need one. No two women are alike, and addressing your situation requires tailoring all the facts specifically to YOU. Dr. Barbie, I'm not sure if my window of opportunity has closed. I am 57 and my last period was November 2016. I know, I was later than most women. Is my WOO open for 5-10 years after 2016?
Yes! Your estrogen window of opportunity stays open for the 5 - 10 years after you become post-menopausal. The earlier in that wind that you begin taking estrogen, the safer it is (the benefits outweigh the risks). The longer you wait, the more risky it becomes.
I just found your sight and am watching all your videos. I had all my female parts out including ovaries when I was 35 years old. My gyno put me on Premarin for 10 years. When I turned 45 he took me off all HRT. I am now 65. Do I do anything now with HRT?
I have a friend who had a total hysterectomy when she was 44. She's now 55. She's never taken HRT. It's likely that sometime between age 44 and 55 she entered menopause but it's not possible to say at what age it occurred. Should she consider her estrogen window of opportunity still open or not?
By "Total Hysterectomy," do you mean that her uterus and cervix were removed, but her ovaries and fallopian tubes were left in place? (Video 8). I'm clarifying because the term "Total Hysterectomy" is one of the biggest misconceptions in the world of women and menopause. Your assertion is correct. At some point after her surgery, her ovaries stopped producing estrogen, and, without her waning periods as a symptom, she would have probably had some symptoms that she may not have even recognized as symptoms of menopause. The average age of menopause is 51. Most likely she's still within her estrogen window, and can start HRT as long as she doesn't have health risks to the contrary.
Yes, by 'total hysterectomy' I meant her uterus and cervix were removed but her ovaries and fallopian tubes were left in place. (I learned what total hysterectomy means from watching your videos :-) Thank you so much for responding. I'll share with my friend what you said and encourage her to talk with her doctor about beginning HRT.
I take estrogen and progesteron transdermal since one year. How can I know when time to stop the replacement? My worst symptom of estrogen deficiency were horrible hot flashes and niight sweats; those are inexistent now with the HRT.Thank you and Merry Christmas!
I'll be giving you a video on when to start estrogen replacement (Video 87), and another video on when to stop estrogen replacement (Video 88), and another on how long to use estrogen replacement (Video 89). I'm very careful abut making sure I address all your questions and concerns. So, watch each video as it comes out, and I can assure you that you'll have all the answers.
A Ford Hello, I use Famenita 100 mg, soft capsules and each eveni g I ntroduce one into the vagina before sleeping. The Laboratory that makes the Famenita is Exceltis, a german one, I live in German.
Love love love everything about you and your thorough instruction. This lesson scares me though because I am not certain when my menopause actually began due to the fact that I had an ablation in dec of 2007. I am now 59 and set up to start with my hrt tomorrow. What if I missed my window and would now put my health in jeopardy😳
I love that you're learning so much and enjoying it. As for YOUR estrogen window of opportunity: Your ablation only destroyed the lining of your uterus. The lining of your uterus merely RESPONDS to hormones. With ablation, discontinuing your periods has nothing to do with when your ovaries stopped producing estrogen. So, here's how you assess your benefits versus your risks: If you became post-menopausal even 10 years ago and your estrogen window of opportunity is open just a crack, starting HRT now would keep the window open, and lower your risk for the diseases associated with menopause. If you're healthy, not obese, and a non-smoker, your benefits still outweigh your risks. If you only became menopausal a couple of years ago, your window us definitely still open. And if you don't start taking HRT now, your window could close and out you at greater risk for the diseases associated with menopause. If you forfeit the opportunity to take HRT, your risks for all the diseases associated with menopause increase.
You'll find that the more stable you can make your hormones, the better you feel. Here's why: Any cyclic or rhythmic regimen is somewhat of a rollercoaster. In other words, it involves changing levels of hormones over time. That tends to make you feel like YOU'RE on a rollercoaster. But if your hormones are on an even keel, you feel more similar and more normal from day to day. PMS is an example of roller-coasteering hormones. And most women hate PMS. Pregnancy involves some rolle-rcoastering of hormones, and most women don't feel (or act) their best during pregnancy. Makes sense, doesn't it?
Yes it does. The main reason I asked is that I am seeing Bio Rhythmic Dosing Popping up now. They are calling it the 4th generation of HRT. I am heavily involved with coaching men and am considering woman desiring HRT. SO very informative for me. Thank you! I see a definite value in Physicians Working with Functionally Oriented Health Coaches/Practitioners.
I can see why you watch these videos. PLEASE, PLEASE concentrate heavily on learning all you can about menopause. There are so few professionals who become truly proficient and helpful to women at this time of life. I applaud you.
Hi Dr Barbie. Can you explain the "5 to 10 years"? Why not just say "10 years"? Your examples indicate it's 10 (e.g. 9 1/2 is still within the window). When is it more 5 than 10? How would we know 5 is all we have? Maria Loving your education. Will be scheduling a consultation in the coming months.
The "5 to 20 years" is an arbitrary time frame that I do not like simply because all women do not age similarly. The key to the estrogen window is that, when you lose your estrogen (which was your fountain if youth), your body starts aging on both the inside and the outside. If the aging process does not harden your heart arteries, you are still a good candidate for HRT. The best way to address this as it pertains to YOU personally is to schedule a consultation with me at MenopauseTaylor.ME. I will tailor everything specifically to YOU, which I cannot do in a comment box.
@@MenopauseTaylor Thank you. I do plan to schedule a consultation with you (waiting to finish the video series and the book, and also to better gauge where I'm at, which is now becoming clearer). This question was not about me specifically, just trying to understand what "5 to 10" means. Not sure if "5 to 20" in your response is a typo, but the explanation on the hardening of arteries makes sense. Maria
Cath, Most women only have a rash or skin reaction if they use a patch. The fact that you're having this reaction with a pill means one of two things: (1) It may be that you're allergic to the progesterone. Femoston contains a progesterone (progestin) called dydrogesterone. Elleste Duet Conti contains a progesterone (progestin) called norethisterone. While they are different, it's possible that you'e allergic to both. (2) You could have a thyroid problem. This warrants checking your thyroid with a simple blood test. If your thyroid tests are normal, I would suggest taking separate products for estrogen & progesterone. You could consider using a progesterone gel that is not a synthetic progestin. Now, although I've answered this question, I feel like I haven't given you as much as you deserve. That's because it's just not possible to do so here in this comment box. There is so much more to discuss than I can address here. If you want to really do it properly, schedule a one-on-one consultation with me. If you want a consultation, go to MenopauseTaylor.ME to schedule one. I do them on Skype, FaceTime, and Facebook Messenger. You can include all the things you want to cover when you fill out the form, and then send me any labs or tests you've had. That way, I can incorporate everything into the session. I'll create a personalized document addressing all your concerns, and send it to you at least one day before our session. That way, you'll have time to read it in advance. It's usually 6 - 12 pages long. Then, I'll have all sorts of props and models to show you during the consultation, and we'll make great headway. You'll understand everything and have all the options tailored specifically to YOU.
❤️❤️❤️
You are literally the most adorable and knowledgable doctor ever!!
You are ever so kind! Thank you deeply, my dear.
Been on HRT for 16 yrs and skin is great and no sagging either. whoo whoo!
I love how positive and happy you sound.
So, here's how a consultation works:

I hope to meet you soon!
This is the most important video to me and it scared the hell out of me. It thought i could go on without any pills or supplements. Why does nobody but you tells us about this?!
Hoping you will address for those of us gals whose window has been closed, sealed, and will not budge even with a crowbar, how we can possibly undo the damage done to our bodies by depleting it of estrogen for all these years. Hoping there's a solution for us :) Sort of feeling like I've missed the boat :(
Donna Schwab I'm with you Donna😕
Donna Schwab why didn't my Dr explain this to me😔
Donna Schwab ....boy, do I understand.
I will try to keep it down 🙈
I actually just remembered that I was asking God to lead me to the right people and the right information I need for my health in this difficult time of my life. He's sure taking care of me (once again). Cause there has sure nobody else been telling me about all of this 😆😆
I so appreciate your kind words, my dear. I love knowing that this menopause education is improving your life.
I love your analogies Dr. Taylor. Thank you so much ❤️
You are so welcome!
Menopause Barbie you are saving my life and I cannot thank you enough. Bless you
Ahh, that's my goal. I'm here to help you.
i am figuratively dying. the deadline for your seminar was the day i had my last cycle. thankfully i found you while my window of opportunity is still open. so grateful. at first i thought you were a little wacky, but i kept watching imagining how fun it would be to be a juror in one of your trials. now i am watching wishing you were my sister. when i am all caught up, i would love to have a consultation. i am having the hardest time finding a doctor who knows a small fraction of what you know. thank you so much for all your hard work.
I hope you do schedule a consultation. I would love to meet you and help you.
I LOVE YOU BARBIE, YOU SAVE MY LIFE, YOU SAVE ME FROM MY OWN IGNORANCE!!! YOU CONTINUE SAVING MY LIFE!!!!!
This is os very touching. Thank you, my dear.
Thank you so much Dr. Taylor for your detailed videos, it really helps me a lot. I am sharing your videos to my family & friends to bring awareness about Menopause and the diseases. I wish one day I can meet you in person. All the women really needs your knowledge & wisdom about menopause. ❤️
Thank you so very much for your kind comment. I love giving you this education. I hope to meet you in a consultation one day.
Before watching this video, I thought that I could choose to do nothing about estrogen, but now I will use your life saving advice to choose what kind of estrogen to get. Long live Dr. Menopause Barbie!!
A from Japan
Most excellent tutorial! I'm so loving being so informed! Thank you for this gift each week my dear friend. 🌸🌸🌸
You're so welcome, my dear. This is such a joy for me.
Joanne,
Welcome aboard to "Menopause Taylor University." You'll find that if you start at the very first video (going by the number after each title), you'll understand absolutely everything.
I have eyes in the back of my head!)
And if you need me to help you tailor anything to your personal situation, you can schedule a one-on-one consultation at MenopauseTaylor.ME any time. I do them all online.

I can’t believe that none of my doctors told me anything about this. Talked to a few people I grew up with and no one told them either!
What a pleasure watching this video. Thank you for being so clever
Great info Dr. Barbie. Spreading the word to friends. You are a blessing!
I love helping women. And it warms my heart to know this is making a difference in your life.
Cindy,
The seminar DVD will help you sooooo much.
You always make me smile. And my goal is to make sure you keep smiling all the way through your menopausal life.
I recently started binge watching your videos and the outfit in this one is my favorite so far! Very pretty. I may schedule a one on one consultation soon. Looking forward to it. 😃
That’s very true. I was just thinking in terms of the estrogen window but I think I’m well within that. Thank you!
I love your eclectic dressing style. Feel like I am watching a time traveller 😊. Got me wondering what must you be wearing to the gym 😄
Sorry, Mary. I'd love to see you at a seminar. I'll continue to help you in every way I can.
Susan,
Please schedule a consultation with me at MenopauseTaylor.ME. I'll tailor all the information specifically to YOU and determine your best options. You may have many more than you realize. And that would turn your sad to glad.
I wish I could add a pic of my book. It’s color coded and tabbed too.
You're a true student!
Well that sucks, too late for me 😞 but looking forward to finding out if I did anything right. Can't find link to enter contest ...
The link should be there now. But you can also find it at my website: MenopauseTaylor.ME
My periods stopped when I was 46 I'm now 60.
I love your dress ! Gorgeous. I love learning from your videos. TY
Thank you, Ramona. I love teaching you, no matter what I wear.
Your videos are so helpful. I'm almost going in order lol
Blessings! ❤️
Vonnie,
PLEASE, please schedule a consultation with me.
@@vonniesiebert6114 I'll be here if and when you need me.
Dear Barbie,
Truly, I cannot thank you enough for everything that I am learning from you!
Thank you so much Barbie 💕
@@msmeow8913 You are so welcome my dear.
Thank god my window is still open!
Now you know that you have many options.

I can see how you're progressing through these videos and appreciating all the lessons. Bravo!
Thank you for this education! The conspiracy of silence is ridiculous!
Exactly!
Thanks for all the info
You are so very welcome.
I'm 39. Had a radical hysterectomy and am in beginning stages of menopause. Need help! My body has gone crazy.
Jennifer, my dear,
This is precisely the kind of thing for which I do one-on-one consultations. You definitely need one. I cannot tailor things specifically to you in a comment box. It requires much more information than you can give me here, and you deserve much more information than I can give you here. No two women are alike, and addressing your situation requires tailoring all the facts specifically to YOU.
Laurel,
You have some severe misunderstandings that are going to cost you precious time that could result in a fracture of your spine or hip.
But I definitely can in a consultation.

especially when you have suffered severe endo and adonymosis from period 1.
It's saying, "Hey, you, I'm missing something I need!" I covered this waaaay back in video 11, entitled, "How Will I Know When Menopause Comes a'Knockin'?"
Michelle, please don't hesitate to schedule a consultation with me to tailor everything specifically to YOU.

I searched an Amazon for the book and no listing :(
It's called "The Estrogen Window." It's there. Maybe it's temporarily out of stock.
So my questions for you, DR BARBIE, are:
What is the lowest dose I can take of estrogen/progesterone to help prevent life threatening diseases even though I don't have symptoms? Are you able to prescribe HRT after a personal consultation? Are you still offering consultations?
PLEASE schedule a consultation with me. This is not about how many or how severe your symptoms happen to be. The women with the fewest symptoms have the most diseases. In a consultation, I will school you in precisely how to get what you want. I cannot do so in a comment box. I do all consultations online.
So, if I'm in surgical menopause at 51 it's like a crash starvation diet. Dang, need to find a gyno and get me estrogen
Crash starvation diet is a funny term. And it's a very good analogy for surgical menopause. You are a great student, my dear.
I could not find the giveaway link.

Thank you!
Sherri,
I am so proud of you!
Menopause Taylor thank you very much! Getting blood work and will evaluate. I will find an endocrinologist to manage my hormones, Happy Holidays!
Let me know how your appointments go. I'm like your secret consultant.
Here are the differences between the various professionals:
An ENDOCRINOLOGIST handles all the hormones in your body: Thyroid, diabetes, hormones from y0ur brain, etc.But they don't focus specifically, or even heavily, on female hormones.
If you live in North America, here's how you can find one:
Go to menopause.org (That's the North American Menopause Society)
Click on the tab "For Women."
Click on "Find a Menopause Practitioner."
Put in your zip code.
All the menopause specialist near you will pop up. GO to one of them if you can. They all eat, drink, and dream menopause, just like I do.
What if a person has an iud that stops periods? How would she know when meno started exactly?
What if you used Vagfem from 2010 until then premarin cream and estrodil cream off on to
Present. Does the window still apply to take oral low dose estrogen. No period due to
Hysterectomy but have ovaries but suffered hot flashes 2012.
Cherie,
This is precisely the kind of thing for which I do one-on-one consultations. You definitely need one. No two women are alike, and addressing your situation requires tailoring all the facts specifically to YOU.
I'm in the business of educating you about everything you need to know and do in order to get exactly what you want for managing your menopause your way. So, here's how a consultation works:
1) You would schedule a one-on-one consultation at my website, MenopauseTaylor.ME, choosing a time that is convenient for you.
In other words, you'll be able to schedule mini-consultations (30-minute, in addition to full consultations) whenever you need to.

Menopause Taylor yay! Thank you.
I just found your sight and am watching all your videos. I had all my female parts out including ovaries when I was 35 years old. My gyno put me on Premarin for 10 years. When I turned 45 he took me off all HRT. I am now 65. Do I do anything now with HRT?
Cheryl,
I answered this question for you in the post you placed on video 139. Please see what I wrote there.
Merry Xmas
Merry, Merry, and Happy, Happy to you, too, Madzia.
Menopause Taylor you are fantastic , thank you!
What transdermal progesterone do you use? I was given oral but I'd prefer transdermal. Thanks.
A Ford Hello, I use Famenita 100 mg, soft capsules and each eveni g I ntroduce one into the vagina before sleeping. The Laboratory that makes the Famenita is Exceltis, a german one, I live in German.
thanks
So, here's how you assess your benefits versus your risks:
If you became post-menopausal even 10 years ago and your estrogen window of opportunity is open just a crack, starting HRT now would keep the window open, and lower your risk for the diseases associated with menopause.

What does the fine Doctor feel about static bhrt vs bio rhythmic dosing?
Maria
Loving your education.
Maria
@@dammar117 Yes, i mis-typed. So sorry.
I like u v.much ..u attractive lady
What a sweetheart. Thank you.
Dear menopause Taylor,
I just want to say that I love your videos, and I have learned so much about managing my menopause from them. Anyway , I stopped taking femoston and then was prescribed elleste duet conti 2mg/mg ,
. Please can you advice me in any way what the options are ,
many thanks and please keep doing your good work in helping us women out there,
Many thanks,
Cath
Cath,
Most women only have a rash or skin reaction if they use a patch. The fact that you're having this reaction with a pill means one of two things:
(1) It may be that you're allergic to the progesterone.
