    Dr. Taylor, I am so glad that I watched your tutorials (in order!) about managing menopause. I am 44 and in peri menopause. My OB/GYN prescribed birth control pills to me to alleviate my symptoms, but I was afraid of taking those pills. My mother, who is 75 now, always told me to avoid hormone pills because she said that she had bad side effects during her peri menopause period (namely breast tenderness, fibroids) while on HRT. She stopped her HRT after she experienced those symptoms. However, she is now dealing with osteoporosis and she already had 3 strokes in the last 5 years. I can’t tell you enough that I am so thankful to you to lay out the FACTS to us in your tutorials. Your information and education guided me to today to decide on how I want to manage my own menopause. Definitely not following my mother’s path! Long term vs. Short term, Facts vs. Fears - they are now all in perspectives to me. Thank you!

    Thank you! 100% agree they like to make Estrogen a villain while testosterone therapy is highly encouraged for men! Ridiculous! I have been on HRT since 2017 and I turn 60 this year. I feel great !!! HRT was a game changer for me and gave me my vibrant life back. Don’t fear estrogen please....educate yourself and be proactive in caring for your optimal health at every age via healthy choices. ❤ heart disease runs in my family as well as Alzheimer’s. Best to be proactive rather than reactive in my opinion.

      Well, I'm giving a two-day seminar that covers the entire education (even more than you've gotten thus far in this video series) on September 22 & 23 in Houston, Texas. It's the entire eduction in just two days. (I say, "Give me two days of your time and I will give you a lifetime.)
      Go to MenopauseTaylor.ME to register. It's the last seminar I'll be giving, so do it.
      There's a discount for groups of 4. Just make it a girl's weekend and plan for your future. I promise I won't disappoint you. We'll work through the entire worksheet, tailoring everything to each woman. You'll leave with a toolkit of information you'll use every day for the rest of your life.

    I have been taking HRT for a six weeks now--estradiol gel--and a progesterone pill. I went to see my cardiologist and I got the most glowing report with a great blood pressure and "really really good" EKG! IDK if it's just the estrogen, or the fact that I am sleeping better, have more energy for exercise and have gotten my migraines under better control. O wait, that IS the estrogen. I have a little ways to go yet and maybe need to tweak the HRT, but I am feeling really good about this. I cannot thank you enough Dr. Taylor.

    • @alicediamond387
      @alicediamond387 6 лет назад +1

      No. I have taken other meds that had that effect and my experience was that once my body adjusted I felt normal again. In the first two weeks of progesterone I swear I had occasional cramps and was PMS-ing. But that passed very quickly. Now the biggest downside is the size of the pill.

      Gloria,
      You should schedule a consultation with me so that I an help you find your best options. I'm in the business of educating you about everything you need to know and do in order to get exactly what you want for managing your menopause your way. So, here's how a consultation works:
      1) You would schedule a one-on-one consultation at my website, MenopauseTaylor.ME, choosing a time that is convenient for you. I do consultations on Skype, FaceTime. Facebook Messenger, What’s App, and the phone. (But very shortly, I’ll have my own video platform embedded in my website.)
      2) I would send you an email to confirm that you are scheduled for the stated time, and invite you to send me as much information about yourself as you please. You can make it brimming with details and tell me about your reproductive life, any gynecologic problems you've had, your symptoms of peri-menopause, and your symptoms of post-menopause. You can include all your fears, concerns, and goals for your menopause management. You may also send me any labs, mammogram results, bone density results, etc. that you would like me to include in designing your protocol. If you want to adhere to a certain category of management options (herbs or diet & lifestyle, or whatever), you should tell me that. I will give you a 5-day deadline for sending all materials, and will not accept anything after that date.
      3) I'll get busy creating a document that gives you all the education you need to understand absolutely everything, points out the pros and cons of each option, and tailors it all to YOU, using the information you have provided. The document will be loooooong. Most are over 30 pages.
      4) I will send you the document by email 72 hours before your consultation. You will benefit greatly by reading it in advance. Light bulbs will go off like crazy, and if you're like most women, you'll feel that you've already gotten your money's worth.
      5) During your consultation, we will review the document and address any issues you want in order to fine tune everything and determine your best options. I'll tell you exactly how to find the right kind of professional, how to have the conversation in order to get what you want, and the nuances of things like guidelines and insurance. I leave nothing unaddressed.
      6) You will go to a professional of your choosing in order to get the actual hormones or whatever you choose to use.
      7) After the first consultation, I'll hold your hand (forever if you want me to). In other words, you'll be able to schedule mini-consultations (30-minute, in addition to full consultations) whenever you need to. I'll keep records of your situation. Most women schedule mini-consultation whenever they go to the doctor and don't understand what he or she said, or why. I translate. I make sense of everything. Most schedule mini-consultation whenever they have a new test and they want me to explain the results. And all schedule mini-consultation whenever their situation changes and they need to re-weigh and re-balance their options.
      The time you spend with me will make everything about working with any other professional so easy. And they will love the fact that you have an actual education rather than a bunch of misconceptions that you got from the Internet. If your initial hormone regimen is not right, you'll want to consult with me before going to your doctor. I can prepare you for what to expect and what to request.
      So, that's my role. And nobody else on earth does this kind of thing but me. So, I hope you schedule a consultation and let me hold your hand (figuratively).
      I hope to meet you soon!
      Menopause Taylor

    Bravo Dr. Taylor, as a doctor and a woman! You are so enlightening. Whenever I think women have come so far, it is a painful reminder that as far as menopause info out there, we have not. You are right, if men dealt - with no testosterone - it would have been addressed and remedied a long time ago. Most women that I know are still scared of estrogen and have never heard of the "Estrogen Window." I feel like you are a beacon in the dark. I know it is your mission to tell us the facts. I would be my hope that every woman could hear what you have to say. You are such a gift and a blessing.

  • @rj-jl5nv
    @rj-jl5nv 4 года назад +15

    Thank you, Dr Taylor. Your explanations are crystal clear for everyone to understand. You wonder why women are scared of oestrogen replacement therapy, given that this hormone has helped them live with all the positive aspects you named, crisp memory, fast metabolism, lubricated vagina. I think women are afraid, and i am one of these, because the hormone prescribed by your doctor is not naturally produced by your body. And the quantity prescribed isnt necessarily the quantity your body actually needs or needed. There might be a lot of fumbling, with side effects, before you come up with the right dosage. So yes, what is scary is introducing from the outside a man made hormone in random quantities. It is like tampering with mother nature. The list of side effects on the box is longer than the benefits. It is like they really want to scare you out of your mind. Again, thank you for helping us with all the info. Cheers from Switzerland.

    • @panes840
      @panes840 2 года назад

      Spot on. But I guess the scientific research is extremely good and bioidentical hormones a match for our cells. You just take what you think you need and discuss your progress with your Doctor and from there dosage should be fine.

    • @elsagrace3893
      @elsagrace3893 2 года назад +1

      The body doesn’t know the difference where estradiol was made. THE MOLECULE IS IDENTICAL! And another misconception is that so called “bioidentical” hormones are magically different. They are not. It’s the same exact molecule. They are called “bioidentical” because they are a mixture of the estrogens that we produce naturally which is 80%estriol and 20%estradiol. Estriol is a very weak estrogen that does not prevent osteoporosis, heart attack, and Alzheimer’s. It doesn’t help you maintain your feminine attributes either because it’s weak. The mixture is why they call it bioidentical. THE MOLECULES ARE IDENTICAL. I’m shouting because I am frustrated to see all the misinformation and the fear that women have that prevent them from making good decisions for their health because the current disease care system isn’t there to help us. It is there to make money for itself.

    • @rj-jl5nv
      @rj-jl5nv 2 года назад

      @@elsagrace3893 I guess you are a doctor, feeling so entitled to SHOUT, like you're saying. The body does tell the difference, because of the excipients that you have in drugs and that MAY not suit everybody, given that we are all different and will therefore react differently. So it is not just black and white. My question was addressed to the Dr, who obviously, doesn't want to reply. After all, why would she? I am not a paying patient. I just wanted to address a common concern that is shared by many middle-aged women I know. Nobody ever wants to say what taking hormones we do not produce naturally anymore does to your body when you take them, nor for a month or 6 month, or a year, but for the rest of your life, which is give or take some 30 years after menopause on average. I am not sure that studies have been done covering such amounts of years.

    hi Dr. Barbie...I can tell you the EXACT moment that I felt Estrogen HRT was bad for me...or so I thought.....it was when I had to sign that paper in the gyno’s office...the waiver and release form which listed all the side effects of Estrogen/HRT . The fear of everything listed was like playing Russian roulette with my life! Misconceptions! You’re right...I watched tutorial #94....you stumped me on three. I’m making an appointment (wish you were here, I’d go to you) for my annual. I’ll be super educated now and walk in that office with KNOWLEDGE, CONFIDENCE and NO FEAR! Fear keeps us away from what’s good for us. Thanks so much Dr. Barbie!!

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  6 лет назад

      You are so right. Most of what women do is motivated by fear or misconceptions. It's such a shame.
      I think you can tell that knowledge replaces fear when you have an adequate, unbiased education.
      I alway say that everything has both benefits AND risks. Nothing is perfect. Your job is to weigh those benefits and risks as they pertain TO YOU. And the only way to do that is to have more than just fear. Unfortunately, fear is a very difficult thing to erase, no matter how unfounded it is.

      You can include all the things you want to cover when you fill out the form, and then send me any labs or tests you've had. That way, I can incorporate everything into the session. I'll create a personalized document addressing all your concerns, and send it to you at least one day before our session. That way, you 'll have time to read it in advance. It's usually 6 - 12 pages long.
      Then, I'll have all sorts of props and models to show you during the consultation, and we'll make great headway. You'll understand everything and have all the options tailored specifically to YOU.

At the age of 48 1/2 I was diagnosed Post-Meno (May '19) and have been on HRT (Sottopelle for Estrogen and Testosterone, oral Progesterone) since June '19 but I am reconsidering everything because of some of the side effects and the COST! I really don't have the time to watch all your vids from the beginning before I want to consider my HRT therapy or not. What vids are key to watch before a consultation with you?

    I was completely unaware of this misconception since I'm at very low risk for breast cancer but I do take it seriously like any cancer can happen to anyone. My dog had bone cancer and I'm a stickler for pet nutrition and now understand why some people choose not to spay/neuter. However we shocked the veterinarians by keeping her comfortable for a year and she would run a play outside. Thank you for teaching the importance of estrogen. I will not allow myself to live without it thanks to you and anyone in my family will now be allowed to function with their dominant hormone. This should be interesting when I rescue my next male cat. He will have to be very well disciplined.and I don't want to see over population and I always supervise.them outside. Thankfully the animals that have blessed our home over the last 15yrs have been very well behaved.and caring for a spayed senior as I transition into menopause has allowed me the opportunity to really learn the importance of hormones. I don't eat without considering thyroid support and I feel great as long as I'm not cold.

      Please do sterilise your cat if he roams around. He WILL leave babies all over. I'm a volunteer at an animal shelter and we are, like all the shelters I know, desperate, overwhelmed and depressed to see the amount of kittens that are left to get sick, be tortured and die. We just can't cope anymore. PLEASE people, spay/neuter your animals, the situation is dire. Our vet says there's less risk for them to have cancer when they are operated on. They don't lose the will to reproduce, in fact I see all our sterilised cats wanting to mate, so the hormones are there. The same as if a woman/ man is operated on, they don't lose their sexual desire, and that means the hormones are there, is just that they cannot conceive. I beg you, don't contribute to the overpopulation of street cats, is sheer cruelty and causes a lot of pain and suffering. The things I've seen nobody can take away from my mind, and all because people don't spay/neuter their pets, and they go out, or gat lost or abandoned. If you think sterilising your cat is no good, think of the consequences, please!! I beg you.

    Thank-you so much for your videos. I'm sitting here just a crying because I'm finally understanding the reality of hormone replacement. I've written you before regarding my hysterectomy. I had a hysterectomy last May 2017 at the age of 50. I knew I was peri-menopausal. I had night sweats, strange body-aches, etc.. I was placed on progesterone because it was low, my estrogen was WNL and told to take Vit D. Everything was manageable not to bad. I choose to take a bio-identical progestrone PO. I started a 150mg SR but that dose made so drowsy and had a headache everyday. I then tried 125mg, same thing plus constipation. So I quit using it. Well for the last couple of months, I have been feeling horrible. My joints hurt so bad, I know the words or thought I want to communicate but it comes out sounding like a 5yr old, my hair is falling out, I feel like a dried up prune etc.... I had my GYN do blood work and he tells me I'm I have I'm in menopause. My progesterone is

    Hello Dr Barbie,
    Today-armed with my “Meno-education” provided by your tutorials, I visited a gyn to request bioidentical hrt. She didn’t know the term. She wanted to give me pills. I requested the patch to avoid the liver. She gave me the”lowest dose possible for the shortest time possible” speech. I got Vivelle Dot at .0375. She said give that a try and if the hot flashes don’t go away, we can bump it up. So... I’ll wait a week and then call and request .05 whether the hot flashes are gone or not. It is CRAZY that patients have to do this, but I am sooooo grateful for your tutorials because I was clueless before and would have trusted whatever a dr told me. THANK YOU again!

My onco-gyn suggests further surgery to remove my uterus -to be on the safe side -but no other additional therapy, my tumor marker results (ca125 and he4protein) were negativ before my initial laporoscopic surgery. This is precisely the kind of thing for which I do one-on-one consultations. I need to know a whole lot more information about you and tailor all the facts specifically to YOU. I can't do that in this comment box.
      I seriously urge you to schedule a consultation with me, because you definitely have options. I'd love to help you assess them
      I'm in the business of educating you about everything you need to know and do in order to get exactly what you want for managing your menopause your way. So, here's how a consultation works:
      1) You would schedule a one-on-one consultation at my website, MenopauseTaylor.ME, choosing a time that is convenient for you. I do consultations on Skype, FaceTime. Facebook Messenger, What’s App, and the phone.
For instance, if you want to adhere to a certain category of management options (herbs or diet & lifestyle, or whatever), you should tell me that. I would need all these things at least 1 week before your consultation with me.
      3) I'll get busy creating a document that gives you all the education you need to understand absolutely everything, points put the pros and cons of each option, and tailors it all to YOU using the information you have provided. The document will be loooooong. Most are over 30 pages.
      4) I will send you the document by email 48 hours before your consultation. You will benefit greatly by reading it in advance. Light bulbs will go off like crazy, and if you're like most women, you'll feel that you've already gotten your money's worth.
      5) During your consultation, we will review the document and address any issues you want to fine tune everything and determine your best options.
In other words, you'll be able to schedule mini-consultations (15-minute or 30-minute, in addition to full consultations) whenever you need to. I'll keep records of your situation. Most women schedule mini-consultation whenever they go to the doctor and don't understand what he or she said, or why. I translate. I make sense of everything. Most schedule mini-consultation whenever they have a new test and they want me to explain the results. And all schedule mini-consultation whenever their situation changes and they need to re-weigh and balance their options.
      The time you spend with me will make everything about working with any other professional so easy. And they will love the fact that you have an actual education rather than a bunch of misconceptions that you got form the Internet.

    I'm not sure if you will see this or not, I have just started watching your videos. They have been very helpful in understanding menopause, which can be confusing. I'm 54 my first treatment of menopause was the pellet which made me extremely high in testosterone. I pretty much had all the symptoms like cystic acne, hair loss, behavior changes such as aggression and agitation. It was a nightmare and when I expressed my concerns and explained my symptoms I was told it was me, it was my fault because I had PTSD. It was not the fact they gave me a pellet full of testosterone. My next doctor put me on DHEA, progesterone and no estrogen. I recently asked for it because I have almost all of the symptoms of low estrogen. I was put on bi-est compounded cream. Which I have just learned from you that it's no good. I have an appointment tomorrow and boy is it going to be interesting! Thank you for all you do, it's very much appreciated. I wish the medical field would recognize the importance of an estrogen deficiency as it does any other deficiency and would treat it accordingly. It really is an injustice to women!

    That is exactly how my mom, grandma, and younger sister think. My mom believed as though hormones were the enemy. When my mom began going through menopause she was so angry that her doctor suggested hrt, she said "All those hormones do is delay it from happening." Well now she is following down the same road my grandma is, she is battling with cholesterol and also high blood pressure. My sister is completely against going to any doctors, shes currently trying to get pregnant but can't when I tell her she should see a doctor she gets angry.
    When I breastfed my children, my mom belittled me but when I told her that breastfeeding lowers a woman's chance of getting breast cancer she said "Why didn't anyone tell me that back then?!" what I wanted to ask her was "Would you have listened?" haha!
    Its just sad, Our parents always tell us "you can't escape death, it happens to everyone." We always tell them we are not trying to escape death but we are trying to make wise choices with our health.

    Brilliant video. So glad this is out in the world, helped me see it differently. Question for you: I’m 43, have various symptoms - insomnia/disturbed sleep, racing heart, sensitive digestion, can’t drink alcohol, interesting memory, periods shortened and changing frequency, had hot flashes not so much now, do I start taking estrogen now or wait until menopause? I’ve not watched enough of your videos yet, you say to start in the window 5-10yrs after menopause… much Love 💗

      Sophie,
      This is precisely the kind of thing for which I do one-on-one consultations. You definitely need one. I cannot tailor things specifically to you in a comment box. It requires much more information than you can give me here, and you deserve much more information than I can give you here. No two women are alike, and addressing your situation requires tailoring all the facts specifically to YOU. I do them all via online video conferencing. You can schedule at MenopauseTaylor.ME. I look forward to meeting you and helping you.

      Oh, I am so sorry for this tardy reply. The RUclips comments on my end are supposed to line up all the new ones so that I don’t have to search for them one-video-at-a-time. And most of the time, it works. But occasionally (as in this case), a comment doesn’t appear in the line-up. I apologize profusely for the delay. Every so often, I scan back through old videos to see if there are any I haven’t answered. And, I found this one!
      I hope you've seen video 96. It's precisely what you requested.

    Hi ! I got a ‘pellet ‘ injected into my butt cheek today. I’m so excited to start feeling better. I actually felt like I was dying until I started watching your videos. Went & got a blood test & was in desperate need. You’re a lifesaver. A true angel. I love you SO MUCH THANK YOU! 🙏

    • @JohannasSkinCare
      @JohannasSkinCare 5 лет назад

      Menopause Taylor it was implanted into my butt cheek. I’ll find out the exact name when the doctors office opens and I will let you know. It’s a combo of testosterone and estrogen and then I take progesterone before bed in a pill form.

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  5 лет назад +1

      It's probably called "BioTE," which is a combination of estrogen and testosterone. It's promoted by professionals in the alternative and complementary community. And it's a real fad right now.

    • @JohannasSkinCare
      @JohannasSkinCare 5 лет назад

      Menopause Taylor yes I recognize that name! What do you think of that brand?

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  5 лет назад +1

      I think it's a great marketing ploy that is working. That doesn't mean that its bad. But it certainly isn't necessarily good, either. I mean, how can there be "one pellet for all"?
      And if you don't like the side effects of the pellets, you're stuck with them for 4 months!
      In ay case, now that you've had them implanted, the best thing to do is to monitor how you feel & go from there.
      If you can have a consultation with me before your 4 moths is up, I'll educate you about everything rather than just pushing a specific product or management style on you. Go to MenopauseTaylor.ME to schedule if you wish to do so.

    Birth, reproduction, death! Nothing natural about menopause. Truth! You sure got that right!! Lol Hard to believe we were not meant to outlive our ovaries.
    I went into menopause only wanting to relieve my horrible symptoms but here you are teaching us there is more to menopause than hot flashes. I rarely have hot flashes anymore which was a plus but I have/had other symptoms which I never thought estrogen was the answer for. Nobody reaches us these things.
    No I am more interested in preventing heart attack. I can see how we have heart attacks. We cant deal with much without estrogen, our heart reaches from stress/anxiety, heart palpitations, etc.
    What a "aha" connect the dot moment.

      Men can still reproduce after 50 so they earn the right to live way longer ?:))) Its so unfair! All they have to do is just find a young " nanny"?:))

    Thank you for the education, once again! I am so relieved and happy to start HRT next week, via pellets. And it is interesting, it is not hot flashes that bother me...it IS my heart...with the palpitations that rarely accompany a hot flash. I am a healthy person with normal blood pressure ...110/70. But it is not the same anymore, for me....since menopause, at least. (Ps I do plan to see a cardiologist to rule out any heart issues).

    Hello Miss Taylor. I had tears earlier hearing all this for the first time via Hot and Flashy's website. I am Canadian living in Edmonton Alberta and cannot find a doctor here that will prescribe me estrogen. I have been off estrogen and progesterone for a year and I am miserable. I started HRT when I was 49. I am 59 years old. It's frustrating. I made up my mind that I wanted to stay on estrogen forever; but, my present doctor and a gynecologist, in the same clinic, didn't want to be blamed if I developed breast cancer. So my family doctor referred me to another Gynecologist; but the appointment was cancelled due to COVID-19. My spidey senses tell me that the appointment with the Gynecologist would have been in vain anyway. I'm frustrated.

    Well a BIG hello from Sydney Australia. I just want you to know how much I have learnt and how you have alleviated my fear about hrt. I am 53 and suffered with most of the 22 symptoms of menopause. But I thought well, this is a "natural " process and I should just suck it up. Well after a weekend marathon of watching your videos, I decided to go onto hrt. My Dr has prescribed me Estalis Continous Patch. I've Been on it for three days and you know what?............it's like night and day. Such is the difference especially with the hot flashes. But I have now learnt the long term benefits and for that I am greatfull. Have a Happy Easter. Regards Karen xx

    This is such a confusing subject. I see articles about Estrogen being prescribed to help reduce high blood pressure, and articles saying you should never take Estrogen to help with heart health. It's very hard to sort out for us laypeople.

      @MenopauseTaylor  6 лет назад +2

      It's only confusing if you read articles written by people with an agenda, such as some product to sell. Nothing should be confusing. Everything should make sense.
      I promise you this: If you begin with the very first video and watch all my videos in order, you will understand absolutely everything. And you'll have the education to manage your menopause your way.
      I have no product to see you. I'm all about education. I present every option in every category: Diet, Lifestyle, Vitamins, Minerals, Botanicals, Herbs, Acupuncture, Hypnosis, Hormonal Medication, and Non-Hormonal Medications.
      YO DESERVE this education. Here it is! Take advantage of it. All you have to do is watch my videos in order. That little number after each title tells you the order. And, on my website, they are listed in order (menopauseTaylor.ME).
      I really want to help you. And I will erase your confusion.
      Most of the articles i see are written by non-medical people, with no credentials, who are trying to persuade you one way or the other.
      If you want this whole education in some other format or much more quickly than is possible on RUclips, I have a book and I give a two-day seminar. My goal is to provide every resource for every woman, regardless of her timeline, learning style, or budget. And I'll arm you with an education that you'll use for the rest of your life.

      Rhonda,
      It's not that simple. To help you, I would need to assess your whole situation. This is precisely the kind of thing for which I do one-on-one consultations. You definitely need one. No two women are alike, and addressing your situation requires tailoring all the facts specifically to YOU.

    Ok, I found out I'm post menopausal in March of this year and we worked it out that I have been since early in 2019. My obgyn put me on a estrogen patch and progesterone tabs. My biggest symptom is hot flashes that are controlling my life now and I truly feel that one of these hot flash times I'm going to have a heart attack because I get so hot it feels like I have actual flames shooting out of the top of my head. I've had them for the past 2 years and my dr was certain that the estrogen would slow them down or stop them. Since being on estrogen and progesterone the hot flashes have slowed but are still so bad, happening way too many times a day and night. Can't sleep at night due to them. Ok, I get what your saying about not focusing of them but on diseases. I get it. But, I for one don't want to live to be 80-90 years old. No thank you, I've watched my grandmothers and mother live that old and I don't want it, nope no way. I know that may sound crazy to you, but I've never expected I'll live that long anyway. I'm a smoker a heavy smoker who has smoked since my teens, I'm now 56 and nope I'm not quiting. So, back to my question. My obgyn put me on progesterone because I only had a partial hysterectomy and we discussed this and that I don't have a uterus. Now I've learned that progesterone is only given with estrogen to prevent uterine cancer????? So, if I'm hearing you correctly, I don't need to take progesterone at all? Correct??

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  3 года назад

    Are there any natural supplements out there, besides estrogen, to help improve estrogen levels in our bodies? I cannot take estrogen because of an open heart valve, but would love to learn more about anything else I can take to improve those levels in my body. Thank you in advance. And I am so appreciative of your factual videos, thank you.

    Not sure if anyone else asked these questions, but assuming there are no adverse effects, is it okay to stay on HRT the rest of our lives? If yes, why do so many healthcare practitioners want their patients off HRT as soon as possible? As patients, how should we respond when our practioners begin to balk at our desire to continue HRT? Thanks for all you do to educate us, Dr. Taylor!

      Hmmmm. You must not be watching my videos in order.
      I’m going to do a little begging: Please, please, go all the way back to Video 1 and watch them from the beginning. Here’s why: I’m an anal, neurotic, pedantic, perfectionistic surgeon. I put great time and energy into making sure I publish my videos in just the right order so that they are the most beneficial for you.
      There is absolutely nothing willy-nilly about the order. I guess you could say that my menopause series as akin to “Menopause University.”
      I start with Video #1, assuming you know absolutely nothing. And I do not mean that as an insult. The fact is, you don’t know what you don’t know. And, if you start at the beginning, you’ll be shocked at what you thought you knew, but don’t.
      These videos are like building blocks. Each video builds on the last. Think of it like this: If you didn’t know the alphabet, could you read? No. Well, if you don’t know the foundation on the topic of menopause, you can’t possibly make sense of it. So, first I teach you the alphabet and then I teach you how to read.
      Most women think they know the “alphabet” of menopause, but when they watch my videos in order, beginning with the very first one, they realize that the vast majority of what they thought they knew is misinformation.
      That’s why visits with your doctor can seem so unproductive and curt. You don’t speak the language of menopause. Your doctor doesn’t have time to teach you the alphabet, how to read, or how to speak the language. So, most of your time face-to-face with any professional is unfruitful.
      If you do watch my videos in order, you’ll get a real education. Then, you’ll discover that your doctor is so impressed that you can speak the language. And your appointments will be incredibly productive. You’ll know what you want and how to get it.
      You owe it to yourself to take advantage of the fact that I’m so organized. I leave nothing to chance with your menopause education. Why would you throw that away by jumping into the series in the middle or watching the videos out of order? It’s like jumping into a mini-series in the middle of it. It’s so much better if you watch from the beginning.
      I plan the videos 8 months before they air. I shoot then 4 months before they air, and I edit them 1 month before they air. That takes a lot of planning on my part, and you get the benefits of all that planning.
      Okay, that’s the end of my begging. I hope you give yourself what you deserve.
      If the videos cover the information too slowly (one each week, with over 1000 planned), you should go to my website (MenopauseTaylor.ME) to see the other resources I have available for you. My goal is to provide you with every educational option regardless of your timeline, learning style, or budget.
      So, if you need this education pronto, the best thing to do is attend my two-day seminar. If that's not your cup of tea, you can get the seminar on DVD. OR you can get my Menopause book.
      In videos 80 - 90. I covered the topic of The Estrogen Window. I led you through, video by video everything you need to know and addressed all the answers to your question. I don't know how anyone can succeed at managing her menopause well by darting around with no order. Please don't sabotage yourself by trying to do it that way.

      Testosterone is the male hormone. DHEA is a precursor to testosterone. They increase your sex drive.
      The side effects of both are acne, weight gain, whiskers, and aggression.

    According to the CDC, 1 in 5 women died of a heart attack in 2020…not sure where the 1 in in 2 data comes from. I wouldn’t expect huge variations over the course of several years of data.

    I’m 55 and had suffered severe hot flashes. They were as embarrassing as they were uncomfortable. I also began gaining weight. I was depressed and fatigued and had ZERO libido. My doc first put me on Effexor to treat the symptoms. I had a hysterectomy when I was in my 30’s due to precancerous paps. My ovaries no longer show up on ultrasound. The Effexor stopped working after several months. At MY request, my doc prescribed Premarin 0.625 and told me to stop the Effexor. I had horrible. I mean horrible withdrawal symptoms stopping the Effexor and nearly had a breakdown! That’s another story, but long story short I weaned myself off. After two weeks on the Premarin, my hot flashes stopped as did many other symptoms ,,, except the weight gain. In your opinion, is the dosage of Premarin I am taking safe? And do you have any recommendations for the weight gain. I’m otherwise healthy. I weight 160 currently, which is about 12 lbs over my normal weight. Thanks for your videos. I’m working through them!
