Thanks for this. I have a 2010 Nissan Sentra 2.0 with the same style O2 sensor and my standard socket was also too thick so I picked up the PT tool from O'Reillys and it worked great. Just thin enough to fit into that shield that surrounds the sensor.
Hey bro I appreciate the time you take and making these videos. Especially when you include the part numbers and places you can reserve them from. Thanks a million!
First off thank you for very great video, and while you did mention starting car and spraying wd-40 to remove the sensor the camera angle was too hard to show that part, aand that was by far the hardest part for me. I sprayed it twice and heated up twice bt turning engine on for 5 minutes(after reconnecting the hoses ofc) and ended up having to attach a piece of rope to the end of the ratchet to bust the O2 sensor loose kinda using the manifold as a lever while rocking car back and forth lol. Prob not the best way, but maybe could help someone with a really stuck sensor like mine...
Your old HF O2 socket walls are thick, I stop the video at 6:28, good picture. I just bought a HF O2 socket and the walls are thinner, it has the same pattern as the Duralast socket. I went to the wrecking yard and removed O2 sensors from a Nissan versa and sentry with no problem. The O2 sensors have the same shield.
Thankful & grateful for this very insightful & helpful video, HOWEVER.........That squeeeeeeeeeeeky sound!!!!!!!!!! like a horror movie scene. made it challenging AF for me to watch this video. I keep coming back to try to get through this video bcuz it's one of the only ones that I could find with the content required to get the job done. if you could have an editor remove that sound & re-post this video it may do better in full length views and ratings, if that's what you are looking for, as well as extending help to the gen public of DIY mechanics. IDK how many others may have been driven away or insane with the assistance of that Skreeetching squeeeking sound. I've started with headphones, then without & now with no volume. Maybe it's just me ....a lil bit frustrated with the task at hand... the downstream o2 sensor was way more simple to change than this upstream sensor. This is not intended to be offensive I just hope that I could spare others that may have a unique tuning for that ...."sound", or at least ad some humor to the moment. -_- Blessings, all things in life make us stronger. plz pardon grammar. ....like that sound. =)
gracias por el video. It was weird to me that i couldn't find the right video to guide me. The O2 sensor on the 2010 to 2012 is different than 2007-2009. older ones required more work to get to it, as it sat right under the intake.
I couldn’t remove the heat shield, bolts were rusted shut. So I had to do the longer way... removing the intake manifold and had plenty of space to get it out without removing or cutting the heat shield. HUGE thanks for suggesting the socket. Key component for the job!!!
I had my catalytic converter, intake boot replaced on my 2012 Nissan Sentra. When they did the diagnostic test they told me that the catalytic converter, intake boot, and the air fuel sensor have to be replaced. I did everything except for the air fuel sensor. Does this need to be replaced? After they repair the other two mechanical problems, the check engine light went off and has not come back on. I do not want it to cause any more problems so if I have to repair the air fuel sensor I will, I just don't know if I need you. Please give me some advice. Thank you for the video
For the most part of the light doesn’t come back on then the computer/car it’s telling you that everything is fine. So I would wait till the light comes on ... and if it does I would scan the computer and see what codes it gives you.

@@crunchytacosupreme9371 I have NEVER had a aftermarket cat work for long period of time. The most I’v EVER seen one was about 9 months. But sooner or later Check engine light always comes back on.

Have same issue problem is I don't know if it California emissions or not? Before I can purchase the 02 sensor..gave them the Vin # but their computer didn't find anything..how can I find out??
Is it ok if I do one at a time or do I need to do both at the same time? I ask b/c the one in the front of the car is easy. The one in the back is harder
@@FalconsGarage thank you for this and other great videos. I did follow your other video in the past and changed fan. I am now following this to change O2 sensor. I am stuck as I cannot feel the connector tab. Please help how to remove the old sensor from the harness.
Nice video I have a 2008 nissan sentra and is doing missfire, the check engine doesn’t turn on it doesn’t have any codes. What it could be? It has new sparkplugs.
Impossible for me to removed the heat sheld ,bolts was so rusted that only the 2 top one whent out.so l decided to cut the corner of it with a Speed grinder.
100k views show this man some love in the likes! I think I will try this

Thanks for the info bro
Can bad oxygen sensors cause a p0420 on a 2008 Nissan Sentra 2.0? I've already replaced the Catalytic Converters and that code came back.
yes it could .. but did you sue a DEALER catalyst converter or aftermarket?

Glad it helped, yeah that was annoying!
HOW DO YOU TEST FOR A BAD GROUND ON A O2 SENSOR ( DOWN STREAM)?? THANKS!
with a test light .. or power probe
Hey, I’m not a mechanic, although I can do very basic stuff. How difficult will this be?
not to hard .. just need patience

Yes. It’s ok to do one at a time
❤ thanks
That exhaust is different than other sentras of the same year. The sensor is on top, not on the side like yours.
Thank you. How do you disconnect the old one from the plug. I feel like I'm going to break it.
Should just have a tab in the connector

Do you have a video on how to replace a turn signal post on a 2010 Chevy van?
Sorry I don’t
Evertough Socket 67060-A also works for both removal and installation. Walker Oxygen Sensor 250-54108 is an alternative to OEM.
The Pittsburg full kit of sensor wrenches has one socket that's thin enough to make it past that heatshield. It's a $50 kit.
Looking to possibly replace all of the O2 sensors, How many does this vehicle have
every car is diferent some have 2 some have 4
@@FalconsGarage How many did this car have? My car has a burned up wire. Where did you buy this sensor from?
Thanks for putting the link to the socket just what I was looking for!!!!

what typer of scanner are you using .. might need a bigger scanner to detect the misfires
I had that problem once. I bought original Nissan plugs on eBay. They were fakes. Removing the fakes cured the problem.
Is this upstream or downstream?
Up stream. I have a video explaining the difference between upstream & down stream.
If I use a 22mm oxygen sensor socket will I have issues with the socket walls being to thick?
Most likely
I'm a car idiot, but honestly I feel like with this video I can do this
Thanks, 😜this video help me a lot on my 2010 murano, the 22 mm socket had work great !!!
Falcon, I'm having a really hard time separating the sensor's connector from the harness connector. Do you have any suggestions?

How much would this run to fix ?$
About 1 hour of labor. What ever mechanic labor is where you are from. Plus parts
I’m looking for a tool to remove that
Did you try the one I talk about?
I didn’t want to cut my o2 sensors. I have a shield like that on my genesis 3.3t

lol yea I got that fixed not too late after this video
Can somebody help me? change the sensor and I keep getting the same error p0131. I already checked current and fuses and everything is fine.
vacuum leak?
You fixed it?
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Where is the downstream located
Robledo,D i point it out on the video. It’s after the catalog converter.
