I bought my 2012 in 2013 with 24k miles still running nice, smooth, and powerful today at 128k plus miles (Oct, 2021)...a bottle of stp fuel injection cleaner every oil change (3k miles), new air filter plus cabinet air filter when need it, coolant flush twice since I bought it (about 4yrs each), transmission fluid changed around 100k miles. Only thing I had to change just recently was the intake cause of a crack in it, control arms, due to wear and tear. Almost any car if you maintenance and drive normally I guess should last you many years. But if you don't take care of it and floor the gas every stop sign and green lights, oh yeah any car won't last you.
I have a 2012 with 110,000 miles since new. Blower motor resistor and exhaust is all Ive done besides normal maintenance stuff like brakes and battery.
I have a 2007 Sentra SE-R SPEC V, despite being the 3rd owner and the previous owner beating the crap out of it, I haven’t really had any issues with it other than fixing what they themselves broke, (missing hood support thingie, broken gas cap and releaser, broken sunroof deflector etc) All I’ve really had to do for maintenance was change the alternator, brake pads, oil change, new tires and rims and probably soon new suspension 🤷🏻♀️
Good stuff.. Surprised you didn't include the crappy air intake elbow between the throttle body and air filter box. They are known to just prematurely deteriorate, as mine did. And yes, my a/c blower had to be replaced too. That was a pita.
we have a 2011 sentra and i have had to replace the blower motor 3 times now at 145k and the latest problem with it was it sucked up napkins from inside the glove box. shitty design
Just hit 150000+ miles on my 2010 Sentra 2.0 6 speed manual, only changed front struts, battery, oil, trans oil, coolant and air filters runs and drives like new and everything still works
Current owner of a 2011 Nissan Sentra 2.0L base model. I’ve had a bad throttle body and it needed to be replaced and I had MAF airflow issues. With the MAF I actually just had to get it reprogrammed so if you have MAF issues just consider that. So far it’s been a good car. This is my third year with it and those are the only main problems I had with it.
We got a new sentra base in 2012 as a present from my in-laws when we moved to the US. At 40k miles one of the mechanics told me that the CVT fluid needed to be changed. I told him that I wanted it to last me at least 150k miles, and he laughed. 11 years later it reached 157k miles: I changed the transmission fluid 3 times , flushed the coolant fluid, regular5-7K full synthetic oil changes, air filters, brakes and rotors and front struts due to a minor rear end accident, changed spark plugs and cleaned throttle body from buildup. I am not forcing the car and it has served us pretty well. MPG AVG 28-30. Things that failed: Front O2 sensor, Mass Air Flow Sensor( use always original BTW), and air intake elbow .
My 2011 sentra has 300k+ miles on it. Things that have failed so far, Not including normal wear and tare items. Alternator(1), Ignition coil(1), air intake hose(1), clock spring(2), evap solenoid(1). EDIT: I replaced all injectors not because of them failing but to improve fuel mileage.
Hi 2007 Nissan Sentra owners and family!! we all have similar issues on our cars. Mine reached 150K. after much thought replaced timing chain since camshaft sensor code kept on coming and I had starting trouble. replaced cat. converter also. It also has the vibration issue you guys have been talking about for over 2 years. alignment did not help, balancing and new tires did not help. mechanic is saying it is axles since it vibrates when ACCELERATING at 50+ mph and driving even slight uphill. engine mount seems to be okay. I need to check tie rods since that may be cheaper than the axles. I also have vibration when stopped on stop sign or red light . I dont know if it needs new ignition coils. they seem to be very expensive from the dealer, not sure if I can go for aftermarket. I changed the spark plugs 2 years ago with NGK (good ones).
Just passed 145k mi on my Sentra. Bought it two years ago for $500 when it was traded in at my work. I’ve replaced the front strut assembly’s, alternator, timing chain tensioner pulley, maybe a stabilizer link and that’s it. Besides normal stuff like batteries, brakes, etc. I make sure to get my oil changed every 6500k with full synthetic and I change the trans fluid every 15-20k mi. Only real annoyance I’m having is when I’ve been driving for more then a few hours or if I’m driving in the snow my transmission shutters occasionally, but besides that the CVT works well.
Thank you for the informative film. I have 2009 Nissan Sentra. 1. ~@60K the Air Intake Elbow (i believe it is called Air Duct) got torn. I found the slit on it after the Engine light came and I started to look for the problem. I've read that it is pretty common problem for these cars and bought 2 spare in addition. This part is relatively easy to replace, so if you have a bag of them, it is not a problem. 2. I've also read that there is a common suspention problem w/these cars, that it starts banging in the area of Rear Passenger side. Now I've got that problem (~61K now) after I hit smth on the road. I thought it is a strut went out (especially one front was reported before by FireStone, though at dealer they said nothing wrong). I replaced front struts, rear shocks (all of them were bad, front leaking and rear shocks not spreading out after the compression how they should). But all that didn't help w/loud banging and clunking noise somewhere in the area of rear passenger side. I inspected everything, seems like everything is solid, the springs are not brocken, but when you drive, and especially go over any bumps, a noise is such, like smth is going to fell apart. In that condition the car went through State Inspection and I did alignment after all the suspension work of course. All of that at Toyota Dealer and they don't know what could cause that sound, alignment didn't help. From what I've learned the problem in the rear of Nissan Sentras is related to the worn bushings in the Rear Suspention Beam, and it always come on the rear passenger side 1st. I would appreciate any opinions on this matter. We have 2 other GM cars (Saturn has 132K and Chevy 110K) and no problems w/struts. I replaced the front and rear struts on Saturn, but that was just bcs I wanted that car to sit a bit higher, there was nothing wrong w/those struts. From this I conclude that the suspension on Nissan Sentras has a problem in the sense that the struts and shocks are worn out on a very low mileage.

Man you hit it right on the button. The front bearings went bad, had them replaced. The blower motor blowing very low but backyard mechanic says too hard to get at blower motor. One thing you didn't mention is CVT transmission gets very hot on long, long trips. Something about not holding enough transmission fluid b/c too small, thus getting hot on long trips. Have had transmission fluid and filter changed 3 times so I won't ruin tranny. Which I think I already did, but it's still running with the help of some snake oil. Thanks for the video.
Question if I’m driving and the noise of the wheel bearing changes as I’m turning but I hear it in the back of the car that would mean the back wheel bearings are bad correct?
Help!! Any suggestions are needed! I have a 2012 and my a/c and heater stopped working. No air comes out of the vents. There are no loud noises. I must have disregarded them before it went out😅. But what is the cost to fix the a/c on this car?? It’s been 2 years since my air and heat have been out. 🤔Should I replace my fuses??

Working on an 07 2.0 auto 146k on it crank and no start problem. Not getting fuel. Replaced the pump twice, crank sensor and cam sensors, and it still just cranks. Ideas?
Is there any known internal engine problems with this gen? I'm looking at a 2011 sentra ser v-spec manual transmission but weary about it. I heard newer Nissans have cam timing and knock sensor issues
Some of the things in this car seems like intentionally designed poorly so you take it to the dealer. Ex : cabin air filter is difficult to change, changing spark plus and ignition coils requires removing have the intake or most of it, blower motor in center console what the heck,
Yeah, that blower motor is a pain, but at least you can do it without tearing out the dash. Taking half the damn thing apart just to get to the spark plugs is ridiculous, though.
I am your new subscriber after watching this video. I liked this video full of information for nissan sentra drivers. Can I request you for video on how to change "Mass Air Flow Sensor "?
He just said take off these two bolts on the top and it comes off even shows where they are bro look at the video again easy to change probably easier then spark plugs and cables
I have a 2010 sentra and Everytime I come to a stop after pushing more than 3-4K rpm for a bit (especially coming off the highway) my RPMs start to dip and drop for a good 3 seconds… pissess me off feels like it will stall
my sentra 2010 started kicking while i drive, its like i stop giving it gas or even feels like im braking but me foot stays on the accelerator. anyone knows what this could be?
What about camshaft sensor code? After replacement still throws code and starting it fluctuates and starts or fluctuates and dies. Replaced fuel pump, plugs, coils, camshaft and crankshaft sensors as well.
Did you find out ur problem my moms car was doing the same thing I did the same things besides replacing the fuel pump I know I have spark and I don’t hear it miss firing so I didn’t check the time of belt it runs about 30 mins and dies I took it too to mechanics after I got tired of fucking with it and they both said they have to replace it with there parts. And one was the dealership and the put let run for 15 mins so they didn’t let it run long Enough
Hey, I’m having this problem with my 2010 Nissan Sentra feels like every time I press on the brakes too hard my car will shut down and the service engine, battery and oil change indicators lights up on the dashboard and I’d have to turn the car off and on to start it to work again it’s so annoying and so dangerous. Any idea what it could be from ?
Check the tube between the throttle body and air filter box. You're probably stalling. Something similar happened to mine. Replaced the plastic between the two and it stopped.
I have 2012 with 100k mikes on it I replaced whole front end down to axels .. still makes a grinding noise the steering wheel shakes and has a lot of play. I got new tires also and wheel alignments roders brakes done and still hear the grinding noise and the car shake I’m starting to think the steering rack is the issue. Any suggestions?

are these engines known for consuming oil? A customer of mine is going through what i think is way too much, more than a couple quarts between oil changes.
I have a 2007 sentra and I experience shaking when accelerating between 45-55 mph. I've balanced the tires, checked for tire bubbles, wheel alignment, but still experiencing this issue. Best way to describe it is to compare it to the feeling of an airplane accelerating right before it takes off. The shaking we can feel in the cabin is what I feel on the driverand passenger side. Any suggestions anyone?
I have the 2012 Sentra I had a similar shaking on my car when accelerating I took it to my mechanic it was only driver side tie rod it's an inexpensive job,the car runs fine.
wow! I have a 2007 Sentra and have the very same vibration problem. alignment, new wheels and balancing did not help. mechanic is saying - CV axles. My engine mount on the passenger side looks fine. could not locate the other mounts. will explore further. I am going for a second opinion if they are really axles or as someone mentioned, tie rods.
I owed hundreds of car always has at least a play car work truck n family SUV & this 2011 Nissan Sentra for a daily gas saver worst car I owed. always sum lil problem that turn into big headaches snice I got it only car that got me stuck in middle of road. I got the car for free and still want a return
Let’s don’t forget the subframe bushings in the front suspension $1000 parts only another 800 for labor your car will feel like the front end is going to drop on the ground when going over the smallest of bumps my suggestion don’t buy one of these POS
The blower motor is a $#%&* to replace. I'm about done but have run into a few issues, including breaking the tab that holds the relay that adjusts the vents. Not to mention laying on my back and trying to work upside down with very little room. Some of the screws/bolts are not even visible (how I broke on of the tabs). Hopefully Gorilla glue will be string enough to repair it. Definitely not a fun job. I would recommend removing the driver's seat so you can comfortably be more level or put some type of platform as level to the rocker panel for comfort. I've done neither and I'm regretting it immensely.
I liked the video but Jesus Christ you have to balance your audio if you drop a hood like that again 2:57 the rest of the video is so goddamn quiet that was a literal jumpscare
I have a 2008 Nissan Sentra 2.0L. It’s been pretty weird lately. On two occasions it has turned off on me as i was coming to a stop and the service engine soon light appeared for a lean code of a mass air flow sensor. I have changed the sensor but i still feel like It’s been killing gas. Another problem that i’ve seen is that whenever i turn on the air conditioner i tend to get a noise like when it starts up and sometimes even a bit of a rattle to the car. I’ve changed crank. mass airflow sensor. shocks. any ideas?
The air hose after the mass airflow sensor can crack or split over time and cause acceleration issues. You’d likely need to remove it to check for damage (happened to my 2007 Sentra and caused acceleration issues)

Spark plug replacement is no joke
On a 2.0 i had to take off air box, throttle body ,intake manifold, coils.A massive pain in butt.Absolutely stupid design. Its an 09 and has served me well but diy servicing is the pits.Front struts, another stupid design flaw.
Nice review.
2007, 165K miles. Had to replace the blower motor, (#4)
2010 automatic , no cruise light does not even come on . Just bought car for daughter. Is there a marked fuse to check first as there is 1 box by drivers left knee and 2 under hood , but can't find cruise fuse , or would it be linked to something else maybe , any ideas at all if no fuses?

@@1AAuto was trying to avoid the mechanic If possible that's why I asked questions lol . All good
Thanks great job
How are the manual transmissions on these?
Found a Sentra b16 2010 for sale that has the engine code p0075 valve control circuit bank 1.
This I’ve been told is common also?
I'm having problems with my power steering any ideas how to fix it or what's the problem?
How often should i change the transmission fluid to my 2010 sentra with 125k miles
My car has had 4 out of 5 of these 😂 all except the last one. And my buddy has fixed them all for me haha
Thanks for the video.
we install one yesterday it took like 7qts
Add an external Transmission Cooler with a Fan. Its a night and day difference. 👍🏽
Question if I’m driving and the noise of the wheel bearing changes as I’m turning but I hear it in the back of the car that would mean the back wheel bearings are bad correct?
If the throtle body is not good anymore that can make the can use more gasoline??
Thanks bud🍿👽🤜🏼

Spark plugs you have to take the puzzle part first
Working on an 07 2.0 auto 146k on it crank and no start problem. Not getting fuel. Replaced the pump twice, crank sensor and cam sensors, and it still just cranks. Ideas?
If the sign on dash engine service soon what that mean any fault or not
Do you have any Videos for the 2000-06 Nissan Sentra GXE automatic transmission
+Robert Vance We do not have a video for this repair right now, but we'll keep this request in mind for a future video! 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c
@@1AAuto do you have any Videos about that particular Car, for other things to watch for?
Hello ! Can I put a Nissan Almera engine in a Nissan Sentra ?
Is there any known internal engine problems with this gen? I'm looking at a 2011 sentra ser v-spec manual transmission but weary about it. I heard newer Nissans have cam timing and knock sensor issues
The main problem would be sub frame bushings
My current project lol
Might be my next project
El mío tiene 100 mil millas y no tiene ningún problema.
Más bien es el trato que le das a un vehículo
What about the CVT transmission?
I was also wondering
Change fluid and it'll work fine.
mines at 220k with no issues
@@Usef320 just fluid changes?
@@trent7080 haha you one crazy guy, fluid change cant fix poor design or mechanical failure.
In the rust belt muffler went early.
The air intake cabin filters on these cause alot of problems on these
On my nissan 2006 model, ther is no power on it,but the battery is allready charged.how can i fix it.
On one generation Altima and Sentra used to look the exact same but they are different now

What about transmission problems I’ve had plenty of thows
Got an 08 with 175k miles and haven’t had any of those problems yet
I have a 2010 sentra and Everytime I come to a stop after pushing more than 3-4K rpm for a bit (especially coming off the highway) my RPMs start to dip and drop for a good 3 seconds… pissess me off feels like it will stall
Base model? Mine is similar. I find turning ac off helps but it’s not great
So sad I've had all these problems this car except for the front hub bearings. Now I'm having problem with exhaust sputtering 2010 Sentra
+Adrian Thanks for the feedback!
my sentra 2010 started kicking while i drive, its like i stop giving it gas or even feels like im braking but me foot stays on the accelerator. anyone knows what this could be?
*L i k e !!!* muy buena Información, saludos desde Sonora México
I have a 2007 that won't start back up after killing it. Any ideas?
It's been a year or so since you posted this. Did you ever figure it out?
I haven’t changed my nissan oil for a while now yesterday I try to turn it on it just won’t turn on you guys think y’all know why?
I literally had all these issues happen last year
Slamming the hood though 🤦♂️
After replacing spark plugs the car stalls when I turn on the AC, anybody have the same problem?
Hey, I’m having this problem with my
2010 Nissan Sentra feels like every time I press on the brakes too hard my car will shut down and the service engine, battery and oil change indicators lights up on the dashboard and I’d have to turn the car off and on to start it to work again it’s so annoying and so dangerous.

On mine I’ll be idling for a few seconds and then put it in drive and it stalls out I don’t know what’s wrong
That Jatco Transmission though...
pure facks Jetco CVT transmission is the worst. The manual isn't that bad tho
What about the transmission
so should i get this or a altima,both 2011.
get a sentra instead
Get yourself a Toyota Corolla and don't worry about anything for 400k miles with 4k miles oil changes you'd be golden
are these engines known for consuming oil? A customer of mine is going through what i think is way too much, more than a couple quarts between oil changes.
Huh, he never owned a Sentra 😂
Bro's i just bought a 2012 sentra.... with 125,000 miles. It drives fine tho, 😢??? When tf should i expect problems?
Don't slam the hood . I had my ear buds on
Hahaha
3:03 R.I.P. MY RIGHT EAR FROM WEARING HEADPHONES.
Axels
Not the axle's. Definitely the wheel bearings in the front, the video here even mentions the same sound and feeling you mentioned as well.
I have the 2012 Sentra I had a similar shaking on my car when accelerating I took it to my mechanic it was only driver side tie rod it's an inexpensive job,the car runs fine.
It’s the motor mounts they are probably worn out
Not bad
Mines have 84K miles n the obly problem i had is the transmission
I owed hundreds of car always has at least a play car work truck n family SUV & this 2011 Nissan Sentra for a daily gas saver worst car I owed. always sum lil problem that turn into big headaches snice I got it only car that got me stuck in middle of road. I got the car for free and still want a return
I replaced everything he mentioned but he definitely forgot to add transmission too smh
That's not a Sentra thing that's just CVT's in general.
Forgot timing tensioner timing gear and timing chain
My anti thief locked rear tires. Do not know what to do. Manuel says go to dealer. Nooooooo
Damn that hood was loud at the end!
Great video but terrible audio 😅
I’ve changed crank. mass airflow sensor. shocks. any ideas?
also it has 93k miles
The air hose after the mass airflow sensor can crack or split over time and cause acceleration issues. You’d likely need to remove it to check for damage (happened to my 2007 Sentra and caused acceleration issues)
