Any suggestions.....I'm assuming the alternator but I'm not sure it's a 2019 nissan sv 1.8L ....i just jumped it and it started and I let it run for over a hour. Triple A said the battery was good starter was good but the alternator wasn't putting out power. Could it be a fuse??

My 2014 Sentra is about to hit 90k, it’s been a really good car. Drive sensibly and keep the RPM below 4K, they hold up pretty well. I change the cvt fluid every 60k and use sport mode on hills.

I’ve had everything in this video and more repaired/replaced in my 2016 Nissan Sentra S. Thankfully all was covered under the manufactures warranty, extended warranty, and power terrain warranty. 🤦🏻‍♂️ I’ve been a loyal customer of the Nissan Sentra brand since their 1996 model. Gone are the days of Nissan being considered a reliable brand. I finally learned my lesson. I will buy Nissan no more.

I got a 2013 Sentra used back in 2017. The CVT transmission failed at nearly 40K miles. Thankfully the car was under warranty. I do regular maintenance on it all the time. I take really good care of it as well--never did any rigorous or stupid driving behavior in it.
Another issue with this Sentra would be the wheel bearings would come loose. That happened to me as well, but thankfully it was under warranty.

My wife's sentra of this vintage only had the first 3 problem. 1st one we just cleaned the maf but we do have to change the pcv valve, cvt in ours was replaced by the dealer at the 42k mile mark and the new one is going strong at 97K miles. We replaced all struts and the front mounts twice. But the front mounts still make a pop noise on the first turn and it goes away. Other than that, it's been a rock solid reliable car.

The windshield is fragile too. My 2017 had quite a few chips in it from normal gravel off of trucks on the highway within weeks of owning it. My 99 civic tanked a lot of north eastern hail with no chips or cracks.
AC issues where sometimes the ac doesn’t blow cool unless you turn the knob to hot and then back to cool.
Noise from the passenger window when driving at high speeds. (Happened both before and after i installed in-channel rain-guards)
Squeaky doors. Have to keep a lil wd40 around because it gets really annoying.
Squeaky brake pedal. The brake pedal needed some dielectric grease on it the day I drove it off the lot new because the pedal itself squeaked when moving it, as well as when pressing it. Brakes were good but just touching the pedal when the car isn’t in motion made it squeak.
Terrible radio display. NC has had some hot summers since I bought the car in 2017 but my display is already failing. Dim to the point it’s unreadable in direct sunlight or in the shade. Restores itself after a few hours of cooling down but, again, my 99 civic didn’t have this issue with its display and it’s also had its fair share of hot NC/Virginia summers.
Knock on wood, no transmission problems yet aside from a total of 3 random jerks when shifting gears since I bought the car. Scheduled maintenance done on the transmission, cvt fluid included.
I’m definitely trading it in for that new Maverick when they start getting them in stock. Have not heard any bad things about Ford’s cvts.

My Nissan Sentra 2014 has 85,000 miles. Currently dealing with MAF sensor issues which I think I got it fixed, around 45-50k miles the AC failed, luckily I still had warranty and saved over $3000 in repairs! Those were the only major issues I have had and hope to not get any more.

I had a 1998 p11 primera with Nissans first gen cvt as far as I know. I changed the fluid every 30000kms and it finally gave out at 297000kms after 10years of ownership. Hyper cvt was def known to fail quicker than the modern xtronic so take it how ever you like but thrash a cvt and never service the transmission then don’t expect longevity.

    Catalytic Converter!
My Nissan Sentra 2015 100k miles was always slow to accelerate, but during a trip in the hills of Pennsylvania it broke. It wouldn't go past 60 MPH. I think it was sold to me with a bad catalytic converter. Here is my story:
I had the MAF sensor P0101, changed the sensor. Nothing.
Took it to the Nissan dealership, and they wanted to change the Throttle Body Control. I changed it myself. Nothing.
I changed the PVC valve even though it was working properly. Nothing.
    I changed the filter. Nothing.
I took it back to the Nissan Dealership and they said "Brake booster." I agreed to pay the $1600 even though I knew damn well it wasn't the brake booster.
Then they come back with, "It wasn't the brake booster. But we found out it was the catalytic converter. We took the catalytic converter off, drove around with it, and it works fine. Your catalytic converter melted inside and is restricting the flow of exhaust. So we'll only charge you $2000 for both the brake booster and the catalytic converter."

I have a 2013 Sentra. Having trouble with reduced power while accelerating going up hill. Took it to the dealer...because the check engine light isn't on, they said drive it until the light comes on. Drove it and it's getting worse...still no check engine light illuminated. It's been sitting for 3 months...dont know what to do. Any suggestions?

I have a 2014 Sentra. I am always trying to keep up with maintenance on it. I have a lot of service records on it. I had to have it towed to the repair shop several times. First was the PCV valve throwing MAF codes. Car would start and then shut off immediately after. Second was the rear wheel brake cylinders exploded leaving a pool of brake fluid under the car, had no brakes. Had to tow it to the shop in a hurry. The third time what happened was when I got to the shop for routine maintenance, the mechanics found both control arms cracked, had them replaced for $1500. Been in a minor accident twice with this car and total repair bill for this car was over $9000. Aside from other problems like AC completely failing, had to replace an HVAC hose and the compressor for $1350. Both struts and shocks were replaced costing around $1100. New all 4 tires around $750 all season. Needed snows for winter, paid around $900 for 4. Multiple suspension components failing - creaking, clunking, rattling when going over small bumps and potholes. I guess it’s cheap? Uh uh, nope. I am no mechanic, but stuff braking down on this car is unbelievable. Every time transmission fluid is replaced on it, it smells like burnt wires. Have to open windows to let the smell out of the car. When it’s something simple like air filter, I do it myself to save some money, but speaking about the cabin air filter, it is in one of the stupidest places. Its on the left passenger side near the feet, behind the glove box. You basically have to remove the entire glovebox assembly to get access to it. For some simple repairs, I do it myself, with some instructions - replacing the MAF sensor, checking the fluids, replacing the headlight or taillight bulbs, checking tire pressure, changing the air filters, replacing a flat tire… I am also planning to replace the ignition coils on it too in another 10000 miles, on my own. It currently has 110500 miles. I would not recommend owning a Sentra, but it’s just my opinion. If you’re struggling financially like me, get a Toyota Corolla, much better choice, or any other Toyota or Honda. Nissan quality has gone down the drain. I don’t know what happened to them, but they need to return that quality work for cars they make. Because personally, I don’t want to see another Nissan again, until they bring that back.

I had a 91 Nissan Maxima that i bought brand new. My co-worker at the time kept saying Nissans didn't last many miles. That Maxima SE was the one of the smoothest and best driving cars that i have owned, but just as my old co-worker said, when it hit 90,000 miles,it went into self destruct mode. Transmission, oil leaks, electrical problems like windows, transmission interlock, etc, etc. That experience soured my affinity for anything Nissan except the small trucks. Every Mechanic report i have read says they are unreliable and give big problems when they get mileage.

I have a 2018 Sentra. I am not having any of those issues… but…. My steering wheel buttons are not working. I took it in and they told me that I need to get my combination switch replaced. But they also told me that there are no parts available in the US and Nissan is no longer making them. Is that true? My car is 3 years old??? 1. Is a combination assembly switch the right part for steering buttons not working on the dash board. 2. Can I order and replace it myself? 3. If difficult, what price should I expect from mechanics. Hope you can help. Thanks

Bought my 2015 Nissan Sentra brand new. Around 30k miles car would jerk and shake a bit during acceleration and if I hit 80 mph on the freeway the RPM’s would go up and down. Pretty scary. I had the transmission fluid entirely changed at 60k miles and all the problems went away. I’m at 100k miles now and I have a motor boat sound in the front now that gets loud at 30 mph up to 60 mph. Some are telling me it’s a leaking exhaust or flex pipe and others telling me could be the trans again.

I’m having an issue that sounds similar to the ctv portion of your video. Around 40-50, it will stop accelerating and cruise, but the rpms will continue to go up even too red line with no speed increase. Could that be the CVT transmission? I’ve read as well about possibly the ctv idle air sensor causing this problem as well.

I've had this problem since I've owned my sentra. If I'm going up and down on a hilly road, or interstate. My car will randomly loose power, and I'll have to floor it to accelerate.. it will also be almost 700 rpms higher to maintain the same speed it was just doing. Then an hour or so, it will fix itself. Worst road trip car ever

So the A/C works but its just the MAX a/c button that is not working? did you plug all the connectors back into the HVAC controller? also the MAX a/c button just places the vents to face setting and activates in-cabin recirculation so you dont really need that button to work as you could just manually do that by pressing the buttons.

My Church just "Gifted" me a 2018 Nissan Sentra SV, 1.8L 4cyl., at our Christmas Service on the Dec. 3rd; how cool is that, right!!! WOW! I went from a Grandma Dodge Grand Caravan(2005) to this! Quite the difference in the "drive!"...lol...I DO have an "OLD" Racing Background and typically like to "tinker"; change my own Oil, etc. Probably NOT this car; I'm used to working on OLD Race Cars; Camaro's, Chevelle's, etc....so, I "understand" quite a few things when it comes to cars; but not so much with these newer models; I know my Dodge WELL; mainly because of RUclips and "experience" in fixing it or mostly having "someone" else Professional, fix it; I'm clueless when it comes to this Nissan; I took it to the local dealership and all's they wanted from me was a total of $775.00 for all this "preventative" maintenance for it; I just smiled and then left. I didn't want to be rude, but NO WAY! LOL....just because I'm an old Granny doesn't mean I'm stupid; ....the car "does" have some issues I'm concerned about; one is the transmission. It "surges" sometimes, meaning, the RPM's have shot WAY up as I was just puttin along at 10-15mph....I pulled into a business parking lot, pressed HARD on the Brake, put it in Park; then put it back down into Drive; it hasn't done that since; not sure what that was all about but the trans slips alot; I went into Advanced Auto and the "seasoned" Gentleman told me to buy some Lucas No Slip fluid; he says it helps alot of cars with that stuff; I use Lucas Oil when I change my Oil in my Van, so I'm already a FAN of the Products....I've not heard of this "slip" stuff before, tho.....any advice for this old lady?

      @1AAuto  4 года назад

+Ahmed Aslam Thanks for checking us out! If there is a build up of sludge that can definitely effect the engine down the road. We would recommend having a mechanic look into this issue and get it taken care of before damaging the engine. You may have a bad resistor causing the AC not to work on lower speeds. This is also something that may have other causes as well so troubleshooting this would let you know if you need a new resistor or the AC switch assembly replaced.
