    An easy way to see performance cores of a specific model on the Apple site is to find that model on the refurbished browser. It'll show you the performance and efficiency core count in the model stats if you scroll down.

    I bought the M2 max 96gb ram after watching your videos last years and it's doing really well. Though sometimes logic still gets overload when there's too much going on (I used a lot of plugins and serums tracks and I rarely bounce them into audio tracks)

      Sounds good, the M2 Max is a solid choice.

      I have the 16inch M2 Max 64gb and some pads in diva is killing it even with multicore option on.

    Have you done any testing around the 14inch M3max configuration? I'm worried the 14inch will have more fan noise than the 16 and I'm worried it could be a problem when recording. Do you have any insight or experience with this?

    • @bjornark
      @bjornark  Месяц назад +1

      I have not tested the 14 inch. You have to really load the system to get the fan noise heard.

    Hi, i remember commenting saying how i was looking at getting a desktop with the i9 14900k processor and you saying good chip and then heard you say in the video if we buy Intel expect it to go hot. I also heard you say the sweet spot seemed to be 40 core, 48GB, 1TB, my question is, which is the better laptop, for Ableton, M3 Max with the specs above or M1 Max, 64GB, 1TB?

    • @bjornark
      @bjornark  2 месяца назад +1

      There will never be one, single correct answer to this question. (As i say in my videos). It all depends on your workflow, instruments, plugins etc you use.

      Be cautious about top Intel CPUs right now. They are having huge reliability issues. Go with AMD

    What's the best thing to get for voice recording and processing? Absolutely silent (good for recording) Air on M3 chip or more productive (enough for DAW and plug-ins) Pro on M3 Pro chip?
    I'm going to use an external audio interface, external monitor, so the number of connectors in the Air is frustrating, but for sound recording the complete silence is very appealing. And it seems that the performance may be enough too.

    • @bjornark
      @bjornark  2 месяца назад +2

      The MacBook Air is completely silent, no fan in it. It would work very well for voice recording although with less ports so you would have to get some dongles/adapters to get more ports. If you go for one of the MacBook Pros, it has a fan. However your use seems to be "light" so you probably would not hear the fan at all.

      @@bjornark Thanks! The MacBook Air is also interesting to me because it has significantly lower power consumption. I live in Ukraine, where there is often no electricity. I use a charging station, but its capacity is small.
      Doubts in Air arise only about the possibility of long work (5-6 hours) and I want to have a small power reserve for simple video editing, perhaps a little After Effects.

      Both the M3 Air and Pro have pretty good battery life. Macbook pro up to 22 hours, Macbook air up to 18 hours. Depending on type of work of course. These M CPUs are very efficient. Hope it helps, and stay safe!

    How good is this for music production in ableton?
    14 inch Mac book pro
    Apple M3 chip with 8-core CPU, 10-core GPU, 16-core Neural Engine
    16GB unified memory
    512GB SSD storage
    14-inch Liquid Retina XDR display²
    70W USB-C Power Adapter
    Two Thunderbolt / USB 4 ports, HDMI port, SDXC card slot, headphone jack, MagSafe 3 port
    Backlit Magic Keyboard with Touch ID - US English

      @bjornark  2 месяца назад

      That M3 has 4 performance cores. I would go for the M3 Pro at least if I go for MacBook Pro. If not you could go for MacBook Air for example. It has the same CPU.

    Should i get the new m3 base with 16g/1T (1789$) or new m2 pro 16g/1T (1869$). They are all brand new, not refurb.
