Hi ,
How many questions are usually there in each challenge exam? As I’ll be appearing for those next month bit skeptical about the number of questions and how thorough I should study?
Hi congratulations 🎉 its very useful i am just going Through the details. Can u tell how much we need to spend overal for this course??? Thanks in advance 🎉
Thanks for this video..Can you tell me if the challenge way is kinda off college studies? that we do ourselves if we are working professionals?
Hi Rashmi, you’re right. For Challenge exams you study yourself and then give the online exam. There is no college or university involved.
Hey first of all thank you for making such an informative video, you helped a lot.
I’m thinking of enrolling in a University in Pakistan which offers CHRP (to complete my coursework requirements) so my question is when you sent your transcripts to HRPA did you get them accredited through WES?
Hi Neelam, my wife didn't send any transcripts to HRPA nor she got them accredited through WES (except for our immigration process). Hope that solves your query.
Any idea where I can find the actual practice tests. Thanks
Is there a prerequisite to do the chrp? I am of Social Work back ground
Hello! Would you mind listing the titles of all the books you read to prepare for the CHRP exams? Thanks in advance.
Hi, you can refer to the below link which has all the books listed
hrpa.s3.amazonaws.com/uploads/2020/10/Challenge-Exam-Combined-Study-Material.pdf
Hello… Can you please advise on how to prepare for challenge exam for Finance and Accounting. I think they exam only consists of MCQ’s right? Is it just like definitions for MCQ’s or does it involve calculations too?
Hiii can you please let me know about finance and accounting exam?
Thank You for all this information. Quick Q. Are the Challenge exams MC only or are there test questions?
Hello, thank you for watching. Challenge exams have a mix of multiple choice, short and long answer questions. Finance and Training & development are the only 2 courses that are all multiple choice questions.
Hi, your video is quite detailed and informative. I got my PR early this year and I am working towards my CHRP certification, I am planning to go by a challenging exam route. I want to know where I can find the study material for the 9 courses. Could you please let me know?
Hi, thanks for liking the video. The recommended textbooks are mentioned in the below link
www.hrpa.ca/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Challenge-Exam-Combined-Study-Material.pdf
Hey ma'am Congratulations first of all, I wish you loads of success in your future pursuits.
I did have a query though, are we allowed to give all the 3 exams while we are still pursuing our 2 year diploma?
Hi Arman, you can check the HRPA website for more details. I do not have information on that
Hi !! Thanks for the video ! It's very useful. I have two questions and I wait you can answer them PLEASE !! :(
1. Are there many different in the content between the challenge exam (9 courses) and CHRP Knowledge Exam ?
2. What material did you use to study for the Employment Law Exam ? (I have not found any link on the webside of HRPA)
Thanks in advance :)
1. For the challenge exam for each of the 9 courses the questions asked are in more detail as compared to KE as the KE is single exam covering all the 9 courses.
2. I studied from the Employment Law for Business and Human Resources Professionals. You can find people selling this book on FB marketplace and Kijiji.
All the Best!!
Hi, i have a query, If they accept my transcripts and approves it then we will have to go through the knowledge exam and employment exam only? or is there any other exam we will have to pursue.
I did my MBA from IMT- CDL and have recruitment experience as well in india.
You will have to give the Knowledge exam irrespective of whether they accept or not. You will also have to firstly become a member of HRPA
Congrats. I just got a HR administrator job. I am planning to have a CHRP certificate. As for the 9 courses, do you have to go to college to study or just read the books by yourself and take the exams? Thanks
Congratulations on your new job. You first have to become a member of HRPA and then it's an option, either you study on your own and give the challenge exams or enrol for the courses or even a mix of both works. All the best!
The video is really helpful. wanted to know where you get those textbooks from? is it worth buying new ones or are there any links to download it or buy used
You can easily find them on FB marketplace or Kijiji. I got mine from there as well.
Hi, your video is very detailed and informative. I have a query. I have done all courses during my academic period. from all, one of them I got less grade. How do I meet this requirement? Can I complete that course again(only one) on the CHRP website?
You can re-register for that particular one course from any of the schools in the below link
apps.hrpa.ca/schoolsearch/
Hi,
Wanted to know information about CHRP .. can we connect personally ..would be thankful for you if you help me so..
Hi , the video gave a vision to start CHRP . Could you please assist that how an HR admin can start this as i have completed my Human Resources management in an ontario certified college so now i have to give the CHRP knowledge test ?
You will first have to enroll yourself and become a member of HRPA. Not to sure if you are eligible under the Academic stream since you have completed HRM. Please check the below links for more details

Hi mam, first of all congratulations for your success 🙂.
I had a query regarding the the certifications. Coming to my profile i've done my bachelor's in IT from India and i've experience from different domain like customer support, (2years) and now I'm currently working in Amazon as an HR assistant into ( Recruitment co-ordinator) since 15months and planning to do HR related pg diploma or MBA (HR) programs next year sept. My query is can I do the certification from here (India) before coming to canada?
Also, one more question. When selecting for pg courses in Canada do the College need to be approved by HRPA? Or i can go with any College?
Need your suggestion in this.
Thanks in advance.
Hi Arif, Thanks. No you cannot to do CHRP certification from India. You have to be present in Ontario. For the college courses you will have to first register yourself with HRPA and then check the exact courses from their website and then choose the colleges which provide those courses.
Hello! Congratulations on your CHRP designation and thanks for the video. It was really insightful. The steps are well explained, but I have a query. I am currently in India and will be travelling to Canada in Feb. I already have my open work permit and Canada's address. Can I apply for becoming a HRPA member now itself or will I have to wait until I reach Canada?
Hi Shreya, thanks for liking the video. Unfortunately you cannot become a HRPA member unless your work permit is signed by the Immigration officer on arrival in Canada. You would need to attach a copy of your Open Work permit while filling in your HRPA member application.
Hlo mam, can u please tell me the scope HR in Ontario or in Canada?.. and .....math hota hai HRM ke PG Diploma me..? Agar mai pg course leker ayo Canada mai means in Ontario colleges toh job opportunities kya rhegi after completing PG diploma ? Or certification ki jrurat pdegi after PG diploma to get a job a job in hr ... or hr diploma Is it worth it or not ?.... please clear krdo
Nice one, do you have any videos for people trying to find job in HR with no experience which agencies are hiring or training in Canada even at low salaries please help thanks.
Apologies, I do not but do reach out to recruiting agencies like Robert Half and do search for coordinator roles and also part time roles.
Great video! Can you please share with us the books used for all the 9 courses?
Hi Mariam, please go to this link and under ‘Challenge exams’ you’ll find a link to the ‘Challenge exam study guide’ which lists the books for each course.
www.hrpa.ca/designations/coursework-requirement/
I have subscribed to the channel and thanks for all the info. One quick question. I am in India, currently in the process of getting my PR. Is there a way where I can do my coursework and take the exams when I am India. Will it be possible, or I have to be in Canada for taking the course work. Thanks in advance.
You cannot give the exams bit you can certainly enrol into the courses offered by many colleges or study on your own by purchasing material from the HRPA website. But you will need to be a member of HRPA for that.
Hello!
Thanks for informative video.
Just had a question can we pick any 3 subjects by ourselves for each term or is it scheduled by CHRP?
Thanks for liking the video. You can choose any 3 subjects of your choice in a term.
Thank you so much for your info!
IS there a sequence that we have to follow for the 9 subjects? Like 3 exams per quarter? Can we opt for any sequence or HRPA has a sequence of the exams we give.
Hi, you can book exams in any order your like for the 9 subjects.
Thanks for the wonderful video. Am a HR professional with 1 yr pf experience .My husband will be moving to Canada on study visa by next sept 2023.I might move around within a year on spouse work permit. Is it good to start to studying from now with the books list you shared in HRPA link or is it too early to start
Hi Sri, it all depends on you. I gave 3 challenge exams in a span of 3 days and started studying for them 4 months before.
Thank you, this was well explained. Can I directly do my CHRL if I have a decade of HR experience but outside of Canada ( India). Please let me know.
Yes you can directly do CHRL but you will have to meet their education and experience criteria. You will have to get yourself registered as a HRPA member and then submit application for experience evaluation.
@@take_two_vlogs Thank you, appreciate your efforts
Hi there
I am looking to pursue CHRP designation
I need your guidance
What’s the best way to get to you ?
Hi,
Can you please guide from where did you get your books from for your challenge exams? And how did you selected what subjects to combine?
Bought the books from FB Marketplace, you can also check Kijiji. It depends on an individual's ability to determine the 3 subjects to combine. Would suggest choose 1 difficult and 2 relatively easy ones. Hope that helps. All the Best!!
Thank you so much!
Hello,
Congratulations and Thanks for the detailed video.
Currently I am in Canada. I am looking an entry position to HR field. I have done my masters in HR but do not have experience in this field. Just want to know will this certification helps in an entry role or do you have any suggestions.
Hi, thank you for watching. I was a new immigrant in Canada as well and this certification did help me find my first role and also grow in it.
Hi, can you plz share with us the Course material/notes to study for CHPA certification.
You will first have to become a member of HRPA and then either register yourself for courses which are offered by schools in Canada or self-study from Captus Press and books to give the challenge exams. Recommended books can be found at www.hrpa.ca/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Challenge-Exam-Combined-Study-Material.pdf
Hi, I have done my MBA HR and had been working for 5 years in HR recruitment in India. Recently located to Canada. Can you please suggest what are the steps to get the CHRP certification ?
Hi Meru, you firstly need to enrol.with HRPA and become a member. Post which you will need to complete coursework requirements. Since you have mentioned you have 5 years of experience in HR in India you will need to provide the documents to HRPA and it's their decision whether to consider or not. Hope that solves your query.
Hoe did you get job? Or directly got PR? PLZ GUIDE
Hii Meru,
Harsh jani this side and i aslo have same experience but for 3 years in India and coming to Canada in may intake. Please if you found anything or let me know if you got any information.
Hi. Congratulation! Thank you for the informative video. I have a question- I am a HR Professional with 5 years' experience outside Canada. I am now searching for a job in Canada, while I am doing so can I apply to become a HRPA member or can I do it only after getting a job?
Hi, you can apply as as internationally experienced professional without having a job, as long as you are currently living in Canada.
Di am
Planning for Canada after my 3 years of work experience in HR AND NOW am pursuing my Mba degree so could u make a video regarding the same….
“Where a person like me who's in India and wanted to settle down in Canada permanently with a good Pacakge”

Hey,
Thanks a alot for knowledge regarding my carrier.
I Just have a one question.
I have done BBA in HR from india and now took admsn in toronto clg in HRM course of 8 months and i need to have 1 more 8 month study there in order to get 3 year work permit.
So can you suggest any another related study to HRM so it creates a good profile and i dont waste my time into another study or else i have to take any random study ??
Thanks😊
Hi Mangal, would suggest you reach out to HRPA as they have a list of courses which different colleges offer that will help you towards CHRP certification. All the best
Hello.. I have my challenge exam today for labour relations but I am so nervous because I don’t know if it would just multiple choice or short questions?
Hi, it is a mix of multiple choice, short and long questions. Be confident and all the best! 😊
Thank you for your quick reply♥️ I appreciate it😇
Hi, i am working on it, need some guidance for it.
How much final grade needed in each course for this designation? And if I don’t have that much grade , what should i do ? Should i learn or buy course again?
Please reply to me
Hi Reema, if you are giving challenge exams, the passing grade is 65%. Each challenge exam costs CAD 200 + HST. You can give a retest by paying the same fee if you do not clear. Hope I answered your query.
I have completed coursework requirement through chrp accredited course in ontario.. Am I eligible for NKE waiver in other provinces outside ontario?
Hi, it depends on the regulatory body. You can reach out to them to check. I do not have much idea about other provinces as I am living and working in Ontario only.
Hi. Very informative video. Do we need any equivalency certificate if we have done masters in HR from india ? And which documents we need to bring here with us ?
Thanks. If you have done a degree from outside Canada, you will have to get it credited via either WES, CES, ICAS, ICES, IQAS. They will assess and let you know the Canadian equivalency.
Very informative video. Thankyou for sharing your experience. Can you pls elaborate on ‘The challenge exams’ it can be done without admission to a college?
Yes, I self studied for the challenge exams and gave the exams. Didn't take admission in a college.
Hi, can you elaborate on this process of self studying?
Where do we register for the challenge exams for? what is their cost?
Also, are there specific dates on which you can take challenge exams? or can they be taken any day?
How much pay rate we can expect as fresher with certification? in ontario
You can find the average salary for CHRP www.payscale.com/research/CA/Certification=Certified_Human_Resources_Professional_(CHRP)/Salary#by_Job
congratulations . I have a Diploma in HR and post that I did an internship program for 5 months and i am planning to move to Canada soon. since i am currently working as a cabin crew, I am planning for a career change and settling down in Canada. how can i do the CHRP Certification ?
Hi Ryan, since you do not have a lot of knowledge in HR, would suggest you to enroll yourself into a college in Canada which will provide the courses for the 9 subjects, that ways you will also meet the eligibility criteria and then write the Knowledge exam.
Hey i m new to this channel, can you pls tell me i came as a PR , i need to evaluate the degree which i done back home india or with equivalent certificate i can join the course?
I did mine from WES.
Hii.. i also have hr education and experience in my home country.. and presently waiting for my pr to come... I wanted to ask can i register and start HRPA from my home country?
And can u share the links of the books that u referred during your preparation or any sort of refrence for the books
Hi Kritika. Unfortunately you cannot join HRPA until you receive your COPR but you can start preparing for the coursework from the books mentioned here: forward.captus.com/HRPA/OAP/oap-catalogue.aspx
For the CHRP exam you can prepare using the HRPA Captus Press and the Managing Human Resources (by Belcourt) text book.
So you have to pay for HRPA membership every year to keep your CHRP designation? Or this is kind of certificate to keep for future? And how much annual fees are you paying right now?
Its an annual fee paid to HRPA to keep the certification active. For a practitioner the fee is around $530.
My husband is moving to Canada in three weeks. Will he be able to register with the HRPA before he moves here in order to get started with the study materials? He has done MBA in HR in india and has 4.5 years of experience in employment and industrial relations, so can he directly apply for the CHRL exam?
Hi, HRPA asks for proof of residency in Canada so he will need to give his PR card or copy of his open work permit. You can refer to their Join HRPA page to learn more.
For CHRL, he will first have to get his coursework or degree evaluated with HRPA to see if it qualifies for the coursework requirement. Once that is done, he will be eligible to give the CHRL exam. But the CHRL certification is only given after evaluation of his work experience by HRPA. You can go to their website and look at the CHRL requisitions to learn more.
@@take_two_vlogs awesome! Thank you for replying
Hi dear, would you provide coaching classes ??? Or would you suggest someone who gives the coaching please
If you are comfortable self studying then give the challenge exams by studying from the recommended books for the 9 courses or alternatively you can enroll yourself for the Exam Prep course by Captus Press
forward.captus.com/HRPA/ExamPrep/default.aspx
All the Best!!
I am pursuing a business management course from lambton college Sarnia, It is not a course which is approved by CHRP. Can I still appear for the CHRP Exam ?
No, but you can still compare course you too in the college
Thank you for such a detailed video. I am MBA in HR from Pakistan and was very lucky to get an HR job in Canada without any HRPA certifications, but I am planning to appear in an exam, and my preference is a course-by-course approach. Could you please suggest which institute you were affiliated? Is there any way to take course approach under HRPA umbrella or do we need to register in college.
Can you please explain the process how you got a job with out having a canadian degree? Did you directly apply for the job? I am also doing MBA in HR. Your information will be very helpful.
@@adityamajumder3768 I was on the Board of Directors in this company, and they knew my qualification. I was later offered the job.
Hi Thanks for liking the content. I went through the alternate route (self studied and gave challenge exams for all 9 subjects). Since I didn't get enrolled in any college I do not know. You can check the reviews of the college on google and other websites. You can find more information about the same on HRPA website. Their website lists the courses and the colleges offering those.
@@take_two_vlogs Hi, I am planning CHRP certification and will be taking a challenge exam route. I want to know where I can find the study material for the 9 courses. Could you let me know?

Do you have a school you recommend doing the coursework through? I’m looking at university of Toronto, Fanshawe college, Durham college, Seneca, McMaster. The price is quite different between the schools.
Apologies, since I self studied and gave challenge exams for all the 9 courses I am not sure of the schools. Read the reviews and then enroll yourself. Best of luck!

Hi good morning, I have a question will I be eligible to give CHRP if In 1 course I scored less than 65% ?!
Unfortunately not. You need to score 65% in every challenge exam. If you are not very confident in a particular course, you can take a course at a college affiliated by HRPA
apps.hrpa.ca/schoolsearch/
All the Best!!
hii,,in order to be a member of hrpa, wondering If I do have to pay any registration fees?
Yes there are registration fees and annual membership fees as well. Amount depends on whether you’re a student, professional, new immigrant, etc.
hi dear, i just want to know…. i completed in P.G certification in HRM in Canada. What will be the next step?
Hi, you will have to be physically present in Canada and become a member of HRPA (for Ontario) and then check on the website regarding eligibility criteria before giving the knowledge exam.
Hi, where did you buy the study materials for the course
Hi, bought the books from someone selling on FB Marketplace.
Hi there team ! I really need your help and guidance @taketwovlogs ! I would like some guidance from you. I am a psychology student, currently in my last year! I am very keen on starting my journey in HR however I am very confused as I have no HR back ground at all!! Could you please provide me with some help as to how to go about my CHRP certification......
Since you do not have any HR background would suggest enrolling yourself in a college that provides the HR courses for CHRP designation. Once you get a hang of it you can then decide whether to pursue your career in HR or not.
Hi , I have done MA Economics from india … i dont have any work experience and i m coming to canada next month as PR . I want to get in HR field there … so wht should i do??
Hi, would suggest start with internship in HR department, if you like the roles and responsibilities you can then continue upgrading to the CHRP certification.
OMG!!! Thank you for making this wonderful video🙌 I subscribed immediately after seeing this video. I am in need of guidance, and fortunately, I came across your channel! This helped clear out a lot of confusion.
Moreover, I have some questions regarding earning the CHRP destination, and I would really appreciate it if you could help me answer them.
My questions are:
1) If I don't own a degree in HRM, does earning an HR certificate help me land a job in the HR department?
2) Is it possible for a recent graduate without sufficient knowledge of HRM to earn the CHRP certificate after completing all the courses offered by some Universities and Colleges (recognized by HRPA) to meet the coursework requirements?
Thank you so much for your time and comments!❤❤
Thank you so much! Always happy to help.
If you don’t have a degree in HRM, getting a CHRP will definitely help you land a job in the HR field. You could look for entry level jobs such as Recruitment Assistant or HR Administrative Assistant and pursue your CHRP on the side as well.
It is definitely possible for a recent graduate to earn the CHRP certification after completing courses that cover the HRPA coursework requirement. You would be eligible to give the CHRP knowledge exam directly and there are study material available on the HRPA website you could study from. There are also some recommended books such as Belcourt that would be very useful in preparing for the exam. The exam is not very easy though so one must prepare for it irrespective of whether they have studied HR courses.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment! I appreciate it. I am incredibly unsure about earning the CHRP certificate as my main concern is the lack of HRM knowledge. However, thanks to your advice, I am more confident than ever! Thank you so much🙏 and I wish you all the best in your future endeavours 🥰
Please guide me how to get study material notes for preparing for this exam
You can either buy the books or check on FB marketplace if anyone is selling. You can also register for Captus course (its an online course with videos and other study material).
Hi,
How nuch time did you spend on preparing for the KE?
Since I self-studied and gave the 9 challenge exams, for the CHRP KE I went through all my notes and studied for 2 months before writing it but it depends on an individual. All the Best!
How do we join hrpa

I have completed B.com with a specialization in HRM from India does it help me with the coursework requirement in CHRP?
Hi Ayush, I had an MBA in HR from India and they have an option of matching education requirements. But unfortunately Indian programs are very different from the syllabus here as it is more Canadian centric. I tried to go that route but it didn’t work as courses should have an 80% match. If you have international experience in HR, that would help you qualify.

How can a person with mba in hr in india with indian experience move to canada.

If you are doing a degree in HR from India then you will have to get it credited with either CES or ICAS or WES or ICES or IQAS. They will assess and provide you Canadian equivalency. You can also enroll yourself in Canada by completing the 9 courses or self study and give challenge exams for the 9 courses. regarding the experience it has to be professional level HR, experience at a managerial level with significant HR responsibilities, etc.

Hi Aparna, the CHRP certification does help but alongside you will also need Canadian experience. So only certification won't help.
@@take_two_vlogs Thank you so much for your reply 😊 Can you suggest any website or online service to get my resume formated according to Canadian job Market, it would be a great help 😊❤️
@Take Two Vlogs Hello mam. Do Canadian employers value recruitment experience from Europe?
Hi what is the difference between getting a job directly from employer and writing this exam n getting chrp designation..... Will it impact our salary.... I m trying to join this course.... Pls reply and most importantly thanks for clear explanation. 👍
Hi, salary increase depends on the employer but after attaining the CHRP designation a lot more job opportunities would open up.
@@take_two_vlogs thank u for the clarification. Very helpful video 👍🙏
hi
Hi there,
Congratulations on you designation 🎉
Just wanted to ask one question that can I give all 9 papers at one time?
It’s nowhere mentioned on the website that you can give only 2 at one time
I mean early can one finish chrp is they don’t have a college diploma in HR from ontario?
Thanks
Hi Syed, no you cannot give all 9 exams at once, you can give a maximum of 3 exams one on each day.
@@take_two_vlogs Got it. Thanks a lot for replying
Hey. Thank you for the content. I had a question. If a person comes in student visa.. Completes the course work requirement through college. Will they be eligible to apply for chrp since they are on student visa
Hi Neethu, as long as you have a valid membership of HRPA, you are eligible to give the exam. For HRPA membership requirements, I’d recommend checking their website to confirm that you qualify for their student membership.
Hiii,
I am HRM student and I am currently looking for Co-op under designated person but I was not able to find one. Then I saw your video, I want to request you if you could provide me the Co-op for one month doesn’t matter even it is unpaid.
I request you please help me it’s just one month internship.
Thank you
Hi, sorry can't help you with co-op opportunities but do reach out to your campus coordinator and they should be able to help you. All the Best!
I'm interested in CHRP please share study material

Can we do it from outside of Canada?
No you have to be present in Canada to become a HRPA member
Hi, I am considering pursue my dream of being in a HR field in Canada and this video was really helpful to understand on the process! Thank you so much for the video and sharing your story :)
However, I have a question from you as a HR professional. I’m from Korea and holding a degree of International hospitality management in malaysia. To get the PR, i at least need to be in a institution as a student for 2 yrs so then I’ll be able to apply for the 3 yrs of work permit after. Considering the situation that I am in, i’m not sure if taking 1 year course of HR certificate is right for me, however, I’m considering taking 2 years of HR management diploma in Ontario. In the route that I am planning on, would I be successfully able to be in HR field in canada and as well as getting the CPHR?
Thank you for taking your time, and Congrats !!
Hi, yes absolutely! If you find a course that has co-op terms, that would be even better as you can get some relevant work experience in the field too. As long as your program covers the 9 courses of the Coursework requirements (which most HR programs in Ontario cover), you will be able to qualify for the designation exams.
Thank you so much for your response! Moreover, i would like to ask you some more questions :)
By what I understood referring to CPHR and HRPA, i need 3 yrs experience in HR field + degree in any field + studied in canada institution for HR(Diploma, advanced diploma, certificate etc). I would like to pursue the designation of 3 yrs of experience only without needing to take the exam. in my case, which course would you recommend me to take in canada? (Diploma or Advanced diploma)
I’m looking forward to hearing from you soon! Thank you so much :)
@Jin: I would suggest check the course curriculum of both the diploma and the advanced diploma you are planning to enroll into with HRPA requirements. You can call or email HRPA office and the staff is really helpful. All the best
can this course be done online?
Yes if you are enrolling for a course from a college or giving challenge exams it will be online. But you will have to be in Canada to become a member of HRPA.
Did you paid for HRPA membership??
Hi, yes this is a paid membership. You can find all the information on the HRPA website.
