    Hey thanku so much for this information loaded video! May I ask you for a suggestion? With MBA specialisation in HR l, I've 10+ years of experience in hr & admin profile. Being a new PR, I've seen Canadian employers love certifications ND course upgradations. But, with a whole lot of courses available, I am not sure (besides CPHR, for which I've started to apply) which course should I go for, so that I'm eligible for HR job in short span of time.

    Hey thanks so much for posting this...there are very few videos on HR profession in Canada so this really helps!
    I had 2 questions would be great if you can help:
    - Is there a certification for HRBP specifically? Or CHRP/SHRM would suffice?
    -Also does someone giving the CHRP exam have to be in Canada or is it conducted globally?

    • @soulfulkonnection
      @soulfulkonnection  Год назад

      Hi Sneha , these are some really good questions. Firstly, Happy New year! So, CHRP and SHRM are broad prospect certifications and they cover all areas of Human Resources. To answer your second question, CHRP is a certification specifically for the province of Ontario in Canada. Hence, it is not conducted outside of Ontario, nor globally.

    Hi Tanu,
    Great informative content.
    I have 3 questions:
    1. Can we apply for the CPHR certification while our PR is in process or do we need to wait for the PR to arrive in order to go about this process?
    2. Is there an alternative certification to CPHR that the Canadian employer will accept?
    3. How much time does the whole process take? (Provided I’m exempt from taking the examination)
    Thanks

    • @soulfulkonnection
      @soulfulkonnection  Год назад

      Hi Siara, Thank you for watching the video ! Although I have not deep dived into the CPHR process, what I can say is that you need to get in touch with the provicial representative to learn about the further process of the province. You can find the details in CPHR website. SHRM certifications are globally accepted and can be one option as an alternate for CPHR. Regarding the time, again, I would consult with the representative to understand the timelines, coursework requirements and other details.

      @@oviyapriya4566 Hi Ovia, any certificate is a feather on your cap in this competitive world. However,I would do my due diligence before going ahead with any private institutions for prestigious certifications like SHRM. Please note that there is nothing called as 'course for HR Generalist' in SHRM . It's either SHRM-CP or SHRM -SCP. And you can easily self study from their offical learning management system by becoming an SHRM member and purchasing the LMS. You will get access to SHRM mentors to help you with coursework if needed. Please go through the official SHRM website before you decide to train with any private institutions.

    Is CPHR designation makes it easy to get SHRM?
    Can we do SHRM just with India’s MBA-HR degree or do we require to get some basic certification before appearing for SHRM?
    Which certification is easy to get; SHRM or CPHR?
    And can we get a job in Ontario with CPHR or we must do CHRP for getting the job in Ontario?
    Thank you in advance!!

    • @soulfulkonnection
      @soulfulkonnection  Год назад

      Hi Payal, thank you for your thoughts ! Coming to your answers,
      1) CPHR and SHRM are 2 different designations and have their own difficulty levels - they are not related nor help achieve the other
      2) You dont need a prior certification to do SHRM. Just buy the course material, study and attempt the exam.
      3) Again, none is easy :) These exams require commitment to study and dedication
      4) You dont compulsarily require a certificate to get a job anywhere in Canada. Having these designations just gives you a competitive advantage over other candidates and add value to your professional growth.
      Hope I was able to answer your queries ! :)
