Thanks Faith. I am stumbling on this 3 years after and it's still helpful. I am a Lawyer. I have to get a licensed to practice. Please help with helpful tips in the interim.
I'm not an immigrant but a son of an immigrant and I wanted to get a different perspective on job searching as I am back out looking for paid work again after a long break. Thank you for your work.
You are a super star, am really excited and fulfilled with your simplified manner and steps by steps you passionately broke down the pattern to get job in Canada. God bless you for us Faith..thanks
Thank very much . I am impressed becos you are a teach and A HR. I am a degree holder in accounting with over 6 years experience in accounts and administration.
Hello Faith thanks much for these useful insights. I am currently in Jamaica, my husband is in Construction and I am a trainer and events manager in the BPO sector. I really appreciate your content.
Thank you so much Faith. Actually I started listening to by looking at your name. Because I believe you are christian. You explained everything to the point. Thank you so much. God bless you
The only way to get hired in Canada right now is if you're from India. You don't need to be a citizen, hard-working, qualified, or anything, just fly over and walk into the first business you see.
Are you a dumb ?? Why are you dragging the whole country even though I am from India & from the past 9 months I also don't have a job. I am still trying to complete my study so that I can get at least a field job.... additionally most of the Indians aren't fluent in English but they are very great at their respective field whether it's food industry or any decent 9 to 5 job and still you are not getting a job then darling you should look at yourself might be you are not working hard.....it's better not to commenting and focus on yourself. Goodluck for you future
thank you! what do you think would be the best time to move for searching a job in accountant/business manager, and in protection of the environment and related field?
Accounting or business management is such a versatile career and you can fit in a lot of industries. Based on this, I wouldn’t say there is a specific time of year you should move. Anytime is fine. All the best!
Thanks for sharing your practical tips - I am having calls, however, they tend to not progress as I have a closed work permit. Do you envisage this as an issue? And what would be your advice to explain this to a recruiter?
A canadian employer asked me to apply for her job advert, and an invitation code was given. Please, I need assistance on how to go about this and stand a good chance to be able to secure the job. Thank you.
This is by far the most useful content related to job search. Well done! I have been applying for jobs so far got few rejections but will keep pushing. I hold a Bachelor of Law Degree but currently working as Administrative Office for about a year now. Previously I worked as an advocacy officer for a human right organization. Kindly advise on which job I should seek for. Thank you so much Faith.
Thanks for the feedback. I'm afraid I don't know much about your profession so it's difficult for me to advise. All I can say is that if you want to continue as an Administrative officer or an advocacy officer, you can use the job search tools online to search for similar roles. For law, you will need to be licensed to practice in Canada. Wishing you all the best.
Yesterday I discovered your channel and I love it now! Your advises are useful! I have 13 years of experience in Human Resources, I am from Mexico and I am working in a multinational company. My boyfriend and me will immigrate to Canadá next year, we will go to BC and I would get in touch with you for a personal consultant, could you help me?
Hi Adriana, thanks for watching my videos. Sure, I will do what I can to assist you, although, I'll also suggest you connect with an HR Professional in BC as well, since that is where you will be residing. I don't have any contacts within my network but you can connect with people on LinkedIn. Wishing you the very best! 😊
Good one sister faith. As an HR pro based in Scotland, I am seeking a job in Ontario or other places in Canada.Good job, rich content as well. Did you get your HR professional exams of Canada b4 you landed Yr job please?
No, I didn’t. In fact, I haven’t taken the exams yet… life happened. But I’ve changed jobs twice in Canada. Truth is, the certification is great to have but you can certainly land jobs without it.
Are you looking to land a job in Canada? If yes, please translate your LinkedIn profile to English. Otherwise, it will be difficult for recruiters and potential employers to reach out to you with opportunities on LinkedIn. All the best! 😊
Please can you suggest a way around applying for multiple job roles which you may have experience in? I currently have three different CVs which I tailor around the job roles which i have experience in and I use them to apply on Indeed. However, I cant create multiple profiles on LinkedIn as it would look fraudulent. So, my linkedin doesnt match some of my CVs. What do you suggest I do?
Hi Faith, I am about to relocate to Canada soon I am supposed to starr my Co op but I am yet to find a place. I am studing business management, I also have administrative experience. Can you point me in the right direction?
Informative... Thank you so much faith. I have a question. I am a marine engineer. I have applied for jobs in Canada but the problem is, they are asking for marine training certificate... Which I have that am using to work in Nigeria but in Canada, it is not acceptable.
Hi Cris, thanks for watching! I think your first step will be to try to connect with practicing Marine Engineers in Canada and establish equivalency with the certificate you currently have vis-a-vis what is required to practice here. You can look people up on LinkedIn and strike a conversation with them, most folks are nice and usually willing to assist. You can also contact the 'certifying body' here in Canada and let them know the certification you currently have, to establish equivalency or at least if your certification can get you exempted from a few courses you may need to take to obtain the Canadian version. The sad reality, sometimes, is that certifications from your home country may not be worth much in Canada and you may have take exams to obtain the Canadian certifications, just so you can practice here. Even in HR, I faced the same situation and I'm having to take the Canadian certifications so I can be on the same pedestal as my counterparts. Wishing you the best in your journey!
hello Faith, trust you are well. could you please share a link or info to where I can take the courses that would make me eligible for the CHRP knowledge exam? can I do them while still in Nigeria? thank you so much, your response will be appreciated.
Hi Eden, I'm well, thank you. Thanks for watching.😊 You can check out the description box for my video - Practicing HR in Canada. ruclips.net/video/8OhoKIR6Y7Y/видео.html There is a document that shows the alternate route for obtaining the CHRP or CHRL designations. Non-Canadian programs like SPHR can give you the 50 points you need to qualify to write the CHRP-KE or CHRL-KE. GPHR, PHRi etc can give you 20 points each and so many others. You can also check out some colleges in the province you wish to relocate to and see if they have online courses that you can take without being in Canada (of course you need to factor in the time difference). It all depends on the route you want to take. Wishing you the best in your journey. 😊
Hi, i am from india and having around 4.5Yrs of experience as HR Generalist in a IT company and planning to take a course in ontario,Please suggest that 01yr program will work or should i get 02yrs program? already i have done my pgdm in hr
Hi, it would depend on your personal preference. I don't think there is a significant added advantage for doing a 2 year program as against a 1 year program. So many factors come into play - Cost, Time commitment etc. I know a few people who did 1 year programs at Sheridan and Humber college and that was sufficient. It also gave them a good foundation even as they prepared towards the CHRP / CHRL designation. Any one you decide to go for is fine, just make sure the program comprises of the prerequisite courses in case you need to take the HR exams later. All the best! 😊
Hello mum can you send me a resume format and cover letter for a food and beverage in canada please mum🙏🙏i tried another cv but they say is not good please help with a food and beverage cv for canada that i will get job quickly
Hi Aphiwe, I'm not conversant with agencies that help with relocation from South Africa. I usually advice people to go through the process themselves, if they can. Besides, it is a point based system and if your scores are high enough, you wouldn't need any agencies to help with your application. You can check www.cic.gc.ca for all the information you need. I wish you the best in your journey 😊

Depends on the visa you are referring to. For example you don’t need a job to get a visitor visa but certainly need one to get a work visa.
