Does anybody else have a problem wearing sling backs? I don’t have the bone on the heel that keeps the slip in place and the shoe becomes a type of mule
Ballet flats are not a trend they are timeless and will never ever go out of style (a la Audrey Hepburn). Im 55 and have never put them away. I have just bought a quilted slingback ballet flat as a combo and love it! It luxes up any casual look. I live in southern California and live in any style thong sandal (another timeless look in California), from flats to kitten to high heels. They elongate the look of the leg , especially in a nude color.
Sometimes things that are classic like a ballet flat become a trend but still remain very classic. This has been the case for lots of things this past year or so. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
This is why us baby boomers keep shoes from previous years, because you never know when something may come back into style!! I still have block heels, slingbacks (3 inch) that I've always worn for work, and a pair of silver wedge heels from Naturalizer that are super comfy. Majority of these shoes go back some 10+ years as I store them in their original boxes. I'm now retired so some of my work/dress shoes will now be worn with my casual clothing depending on the event. Patent leather has never gone away to me, as I have a pair of 15-year old black patent cap toe slingbacks in excellent condition that I still wear for dressy events. I'm too old (63) for the Mary Jane look, and the pointed kitten heel has always looked odd, as I have a narrow foot, and it has never looked good on me. I've not worn thong sandals or flip flops since childhood due to irritation of the strap between the big/middle toe. I have owned and worn leather fisherman sandals during 1997-1999 with skirts and sun dresses, and again in 2004-05 with slacks/jeans, so looking forward to seeing newer offerings. Thanks for sharing!!!
Love the casual silver sandals. I already have two pairs of sling backs, but they are really cute. My beautiful 20 year old daughter wears sheer socks with sandals and it looks great. I wore socks with pumps in the 1980s. I think that trend is too young for me now.
Unless you have Carrie Bradshaw Style, the sheer sock and shoe should be left to teens. Love the Mary Jane’s and I was shopping for the perfect first pair yesterday, I am still trying to narrow it down to what I want ( might combine with ballet flats)! I have bunions and thick calves so it looks like Sandals this summer will not be fun for me 😩. I have never liked Fishermen sandals and I live in the south, so forget those frumpy things.
No, no, no, to the sheer socks! At 53, I still have some PTSD from my grandmothers knee high pantyhose always fallen to around her ankles lol! But yes, I’m with you on the kitten heels 😊 This was a great sneak peek, thanks!
LOVE patent leather shoes. So thrilled that they're back "in" because I've been wanting some for quite a while. (Last spring I bought an adorable pair of brown patent sling back kitten heels online - so many trends in one shoe! - but sadly, they didn't fit comfortably.) I also bought very recently, not knowing they were a trend, a pair of fishermen platform heeled sandals, just because they gave a '70's vibe. They look so cute with my flared jeans.
When shoes stay in place on my feet I can feel glamour. Fischermans sandals, ankle straps, balley shoes and Dr Martins sandals with gladiator straps. Silver is always hot.
Yay it's about time kitten heels became popular again, especially when you are in your 70's! I cannot wear high heels so I've been wearing mostly block heels, but now I can get all my kitten heels out again. I even have a favorite that has it all - a nude pair of, patent leather, pointy toe slingbacks with a kitten heel!😊
My very first pair of heels back in the dinosaur days was a red kitten heel and I loved them. Today I prefer to feel grounded, so sneakers, loafers and ballet flats work for me. Found a lovely pair of silver ballet flats with a square toe and a bow in a thrift store (unworn), being mid summer here they look great worn with light fabrics. Socks with sandals, it's a "no" for me - at 73 I don't want to appear forgetful and being 5'1" creating any horizontal line on the leg or ankle (like an ankle strap) shortens the look even further. Always keen to adopt any trends that may work for my shape and style, so thanks Jamie for the preview.
I already have quite a few ballet flats and kitten heels because my husband is only 2 inches taller than me. Wow. I’m excited that I’m ready for spring footwear. Also bought a pair of red pointed toe satin flats to wear w red gown for formal Valentine’s Day party. Love fashion and love your channel!! ❤️
Thanks Jamie, loved the examples chosen and also the seamless flow of your visuals! Very comprehensive, helps me work out straight away what I have, want and need! 🎉
just found this video, i love how your make up looks on you, and the background is so beautiful. It feels relaxing and so interesting to watch your video, thank you so much
I’m so happy about the sheer sock trend. Some of the socks are so dressy - with pearls and lace. But the practicality of offering some breathability for the foot means less smelly sandals everywhere and that can’t be anything but good!
I LOVE shoes, so this was fun! I’m with you on the kitten heel slingbacks. I bought two pair in the fall😄 I haven’t really worn heels for a while, because I just can’t do really high ones anymore. I’ve always preferred slingbacks to regular pumps anyway, so it’s a win-win for me! I’m loving the patent leather, as well. The Mary-Janes especially remind me of being a little girl and being so exited to get a new pair of them in the fall. I love silver and don’t have any silver shoes currently, so I plan to buy some sandals in the spring! Happy New Year, Jamie!
Hi Jamie🙂. Thank you for all your help. 💯🙏 I appreciate your research and time you put into your videos. And as far as this particular video, totally love the kitten heel thong sandals and the sling back kitten heels. 💯😊
Glad the slingbacks are on trend. I'm attending an early June outdoor wedding but will have to go for something other than kitten heels which would not do well on grass.
Hi Jaimie! I just bought a pair of metallic silver kitten heel slingbacks! So glad you mentioned them here - I'd have bought them anyway though:} Thanks and have a great week!
Love the video! Slingback kitten heels as I have just ordered a pair in beige & 1 in black with a great pointy toe for our up coming cruise. It’s a no to ballet flats for me as I need more support for my foot 👜👜💄💄🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Love the beautiful shoe trends but I have ultra narrow feet and can almost never find trendy or even pretty shoes to fit my feet. Can you offer any helpful info on brands that carry really narrow shoes?
Heard flip flops - yup - are making a comeback. Mine will still only be worn around the pool 😉 Love the sling back kitten heel- so feminine. Great video.
I got a pair of coated denim straight leg jeans in navy and wanted a pair of navy loafers to wear with them. I found a really nice pair of navy patent leather "kilty" loafers that works great. The patent leather definitely adds to the outfit.
Aratta does a great job of pairing sandals with sheer socks in their outfit ideas. They've done that for a couple of years now & I absolutely LOVE it! My favorite pair is black sheer with rhinestones---looks cute with black sandals or boots.
I like the wedge/platform sneakers the best. Wrote to you at Christmas with a question but never heard back. It was on your video around (Just before Christmas,)
I love patent leather too. I want to get me some nice Calvin jeans a crispy white top and pointed patent leather. Sore of the GIA style. Love it love it. Love my bell bottoms too. ❤️😍😍
Kitten heels are awful to walk in. And as a PT none of these shoes are good for the feet even for a short wear time. Sad they can’t make pretty shoes that actually support the foot and don’t lead to bunions, metatarsalgia, and heel spurs.
I wish I could do socks with sandals… I just don’t like bare feet in shoes because it’s common custom in my area to take shoes off inside the house, and if you are a guest, that leaves you barefoot unless you carry your own little house socks or slippers. But I don’t foresee me being able to pull that trend off 😂. I also wish sheer nylon stockings would come back because our spring is chilly and wet, and they do add warmth. Having to choose between pants, thick tights or bare skin every year… we need a middle ground! Love the kitten heels and ballet flats!
Great selection of spring/summer shoes in this video 🤩 thanks for posting😊 I have always liked sling backs, ballet shoes, and thong sandals and Birkinstocks. Do not care for sheer socks and sandals, flip flops, fisherman sandals, or high heel slides.
Good options for low heel, sling back patent leather my perfect shoe. I agree with your definition of flip flops versus thongs. I would maybe try the lace socks with the right shoe but basically not a fan in the season I am in right now.
I was lucky enough to find silver ballet flats second hand but unused. I love them but my cat prefers me to wear shoes with laces so that she can chew them.
Thong sandals, kitten heels and sling backs all the way. I'm a fan of the small to moderate heel. All the super high heels are so over the top, impractical and dangerous. Shoes and sandals can be very sexy and fashionable without having 4 or 5 inch heels!! I don't like most ankle straps..not particularly flattering on most people but I do like the thin straps that lace higher up on the ankles and lower legs and I like silver a lot too!
D'oh! I decluttered a pair of nude slingback kitten heeled sandals last year and they'd be so on trend now! Oh well... they didn't fit my current lifestyle anyway. I love thong sandals and lots of strap details! I also love silver shoes but I think I'd stick out like a sore thumb, wearing them around here.😅 I like sheer socks with sandals on the young girls but don't feel I could pull them off at my age. Love ballet flats and Mary Janes but not crazy about fisherman sandals.
I really do enjoy watching trends and learning what people consider stylish.. but some of the trends you I have to wonder… who thought that was pretty??😮
I love shoes and I like to stay on top of what is going on in the fashion world so I really enjoyed this video. I will shop my closet. The satin shoe trend does not seem practical. I've worn satin shoes outside of the ballroom and they barely last a season, especially the white ones. They are very pretty, but not for long.
I'm not keen on any of the styles shown except maybe the two cute sneaker options. And I thought last year they said thong sandals were a def no no. Who knows these days, styles change so often. I say wear what's you!
Does anybody else have a problem wearing sling backs? I don’t have the bone on the heel that keeps the slip in place and the shoe becomes a type of mule
Socks and sandals a definite no
I love the socks with sandals, I think it looks cute, I might try that. My favorite has to be the kitten heels.
I like this look of sandals and socks. Very fresh!
No tap shoes or ballet slippers for me
I ware socks with ruffles and lace with my shoes.
Socks and sandals so goofy.🤪
The red pointed ballet flats, are definitely from the 60s. I had a pair just like that in the early 60s. I love them
i always thought fisherman sandals looked frumpy. that’s a trend i’ll be passing on.
Hard pass on socks with sandals! I love kitten heels and am looking for some silver sling backs! Love your channel! Blessings ❤️

Love, love, love slingbacks! So glad they're back...if they ever left. A timeless trend, IMHO.
This is why us baby boomers keep shoes from previous years, because you never know when something may come back into style!! Oh! I remember the socks with pumps!
Sometimes it is hard to wear something we wore before. I totally get that. Thanks for sharing!
Agreed
Fisherman sandals are great and go with a more “ funky” way of dressing . They are also great for we ladies who aren’t a fan of open toe shoes
I would love to wear ballet flats but my arches have to have support
Unless you have Carrie Bradshaw Style, the sheer sock and shoe should be left to teens. Will sneakers still be on trend? I love wearing them with a trouser - for a more casual look.
Yes and I will do a video on sneaker trends. Sorry I did not mention any in this video! I certainly should have!
How did ballet flats ever become something every day people would want to wear, they do nothing to make the foot or leg look good, just my opinion.
No, no, no, to the sheer socks! At 53, I still have some PTSD from my grandmothers knee high pantyhose always fallen to around her ankles lol!
But yes, I’m with you on the kitten heels 😊
This was a great sneak peek, thanks!
😂😂😂
🤣😂😂

Socks with shoes was shown in Paris this fall.. with the right combination it may work well.
Again, glad the vintage shoes are coming up. The fisherman sandals is one of them.
When shoes stay in place on my feet I can feel glamour. Fischermans sandals, ankle straps, balley shoes and Dr Martins sandals with gladiator straps. Silver is always hot.

Love kitten heels, thong sandals, and silver shoes. Hate fisherman sandals and socks with sandals. 😂
Thanks for sharing!
Personally, I’ve never been a fan of ballet flats… I’ve always been a heal girl!!! I feel like the ballet flats make me look frumpy…
Shoe/sock gives a boot vibe. Interesting.
Yes, I will try socks with sandals, because I usually wear closed toe shoes, and adding socks to sandals will effectively do that for me.
That's a great option for you!
Thrilled Kitten heels are back in Style! I have 4-5 pair that have been resting in a Box since the last time they were on trend.
I like the kitten heels, patent leather and satin trends.
Thanks for sharing!
I already have quite a few ballet flats and kitten heels because my husband is only 2 inches taller than me. Wow. I’m excited that I’m ready for spring footwear. Great! Looks like EVERYTHING is on trend. Y'all get to wear whatever you feel like, and you will be ... in!
Will never do the socks n sandals. Didn’t like the little socks n shoes in the 80s. To me it looks a very young child style.🤷♀️
So many cute shoes! I love the Bibi Lou blue patent pair.
Thanks for posting this great video - I love shoes 👠 👞 👟 My favorites for Spring are: patent leather, thong styles, and ballet flats 🥿
I will be going to a wedding in May, your video was very helpful
Thank you so much!
Love, love, love, the sheer socks with the shoes! 🥰
Love the stacking bracelet trend!!
Straps are my favorite. They are very foot flattering.
Please not the fisherman sandal 😮
Hi Jamie🙂. Thank you for all your help. 💯🙏 I appreciate your research and time you put into your videos. And as far as this particular video, totally love the kitten heel thong sandals and the sling back kitten heels. 💯😊
Definitely silver shoes!
I got a pair of clear, jelly, fisherman sandals with silver rhinestones. SO cute!!!
Sheer socks and sandals-I will definitely give it a try.
Glad the slingbacks are on trend. I'm attending an early June outdoor wedding but will have to go for something other than kitten heels which would not do well on grass.
A slingback with a block heel or flat would work.
Hi Jaimie! I just bought a pair of metallic silver kitten heel slingbacks! So glad you mentioned them here - I'd have bought them anyway though:} Thanks and have a great week!
Hi Celia! I am so glad you bought those! I bet they are cute!
Still love the ballet flats. I've worn them forever! 😄 even as a 10 year old in the 1950's
Just subscribed, and really like your channel! ❤
Love silver shoes

As a orthopedic nurse kitty heals keeps my office busy cute but dangerous
I got a pair of coated denim straight leg jeans in navy and wanted a pair of navy loafers to wear with them. I found a really nice pair of navy patent leather "kilty" loafers that works great. The patent leather definitely adds to the outfit.
Miss the jelly fisherman sandal I used get every summer at Woolworths….they were brown.
My favorite is sling back kitten heals too!
I grew up with flip flops/thongs being called zoris. Is that just a west coast thing? Like the tatami zoris?
Never heard of that! Good to know!
Kitten heels and stiletto and pointed reminds me of the 60s which I am glad they are coming back
Aratta does a great job of pairing sandals with sheer socks in their outfit ideas. They've done that for a couple of years now & I absolutely LOVE it! My favorite pair is black sheer with rhinestones---looks cute with black sandals or boots.
Great to know! Thanks!
Wear what makes you feel comfortable
I like the socks with the shoes, my feet are not pretty due to illness. Thanks again
Your videos are absolutely the best!🎉
Real Patent leather is a classic and a staple…the blue flats are from the 60’s my grandmother had a pair.
Thank you for the lovely ideas!!!xxx
I like the wedge/platform sneakers the best.
Wrote to you at Christmas with a question but never heard back.
It was on your video around (Just before Christmas,)
I love patent leather too. I want to get me some nice Calvin jeans a crispy white top and pointed patent leather. Sore of the GIA style. Love it love it. Love my bell bottoms too. ❤️😍😍

I’ve been eyeing the Schutz Penny flats. Madden has something similar in a sling back….
Love them will there be any wide widths please need tbose
Favorite! Patent leather Mary Jane ballet

I have the most beautiful red, patent leather, slingback, kitten shoes. They’re by Life Stride from Belk. (So comfortable)
I bet they are beautiful!
Good options for low heel, sling back patent leather my perfect shoe. I agree with your definition of flip flops versus thongs. I would maybe try the lace socks with the right shoe but basically not a fan in the season I am in right now.
Thanks for agreeing with me! I thing the low heel, slingback in patent leather is the perfect shoe as well!
Can we still use the wide square toe sandals or are they out of fashion already?
I was lucky enough to find silver ballet flats second hand but unused. I love them but my cat prefers me to wear shoes with laces so that she can chew them.
Lol, that's cute! 😂 What a good find!
Sheer socks - yes! yes! yes! 🐾🐾🔥

I am glad you got rid of them if they no longer fit your lifestyle! Thanks for sharing Rose! I appreciate you and look forward to your thoughts!
I really do enjoy watching trends and learning what people consider stylish.. but some of the trends you I have to wonder… who thought that was pretty??😮
My favourite part of fashion...shoes!
What a great video, ilove everything about it😊
I love shoes and I like to stay on top of what is going on in the fashion world so I really enjoyed this video. I will shop my closet. The satin shoe trend does not seem practical. I've worn satin shoes outside of the ballroom and they barely last a season, especially the white ones. They are very pretty, but not for long.
One is super casual and the other is dress it up or down. Keep those toes looking nice ladies.
You didn't show sneaker trends?
Pointed toes are the worst for your feet, unless you like bunions!
Fisherman not for me!
I have never liked Mary Janes. Don’t know why just don’t.
Because growing up they were for little girls.
Time to buy new arch supports. Give me silver, silver and more styles in silver.
11:59 I love a satin, patten leather and kitten heel shoe...I love metallic of any color ..no socks with sandals, otherwise why wear a sandal?
Amazing video as usual but I don’t know if I missed it but you did not include the adidas sneakers which for me is the hottest footwear right now.
Thank you!!! I actually did not mention any sneakers this time and I should have. But I will do a full video on sneaker trends!
I'm so glad flats are in. With 2 knees replaced, the surgeon said NO heels anymore.
I love dress shoes skin or nylon colored
Lotta talk about slingbacks never owned one
I'm not keen on any of the styles shown except maybe the two cute sneaker options. And I thought last year they said thong sandals were a def no no. Who knows these days, styles change so often. I say wear what's you!
Definitely wear what you love!
The satin shoes I really not like it so much. I like them for wedding shoes, but not for an everyday wear.
No to socks and sandals and fisherman sandals also no.i like ballerina flats and kitten heals
Shoes were like that in the sixties. Boomer here.
Everything comes back around! Thanks for sharing!
I thought the same. Just go to a resale shop!
