  • Legendary American 'zen banjo' player, singer and songwriter Derroll Adams, with Wizz Jones on guitar, from Derroll's album "Feelin' Fine". Originally recorded and released by Village Thing Records in 1972, it has been re-issued on CD with extra tracks by Ghosts From The Basement. Produced by Ian A. Anderson.
Derroll came to Europe in 1957 in a duo with Ramblin' Jack Elliott and never returned to live in the USA, in spite of his song Portland Town becoming a folk standard. He was idolised by UK rock artists like Donovan, Rod Stewart, Ronnie Lane, Long John Baldry etc and made a brief appearance in the "hotel scene" in Bob Dylan's 'Don't Look Back' film. Sadly, he passed away in 2000.
