I figured I'd check out this Darroll Adams guy seeing as Ramblin' Jack mentions him so often, so glad I did. Even if I shoulda went to bed 2 hours ago.
Heute habe ich dieses Video "entdeckt" und habe mich sehr darüber gefreut. Derrol ist der absolute Hammer. Seine Stimme und sein Banjopicking sind einfach umwerfent. Danke für dieses Video.
Thank so much for this. I remember reading an article about around '76 which reported that his drinking had so affected his hearing that he could no longer tune his banjo, delighted to see his acuity recovered.
Are you J.J. Dion from "Silkie Miller & The Idaho Kid". My Name is Peter from Peine and we have in the Past the Barleycorn Folk Club also in Peine. I made the Pictures (on the Railroad) for the Record "Road sweet Road.
@@peterkahl1551 Hi Peter! That was YOU who made the Railroad pictures!!!! They are STILL among my BEST, most treasured mementos from our time in Germany!!! Your name is familiar to me, as is the place- Peine! But, sadly- I can barely remember your face, or the scene at the Barleycorn. (I'm embarassed to admit it!) ANYWAY- it's wonderful to hear from you- I hope Life is good for you! And I look forward to hearing the recording!! Best Wishes!! JJ
thanks for sharing ! but it wasn't his last concert.... we were lucky hear Derroll singing & playing in his wheelchair during his birthday-concert. RIP dear peace friend...
Thanks for the hint, therefore "probably". Without wanting to be right: Probably the last one on this scale, and as an official appearance, right? But that doesn't really matter with this great man either.
Hello, We're delighted to announce the first banjo festival in Belgium, dedicated to Derroll Adams. It will take place at the end of September, beginning of October on two different sites: In the first instance, a musical gathering around the banjo will take place in Essen, Flanders, Belgium. You'll have the chance to join in the many jams. All acoustic instruments are welcome. And if you don't have any instruments, come and sing along, or just listen. The festival continues in the Walloon Region, and more specifically in Perwez, with a fine program of international talent and workshops. You'll also be able to attend the opening of the exceptional exhibition of Derroll Adams’ pictorial artworks, and preview the film “Derroll, entre pinceau et banjo” by Michel Baudour. If you haven't seen it yet, don't miss the screenings of the documentary “Derroll Adams, l'homme au banjo” directed by Patrick Ferryn and Denise Vindevogel and “A Banjo Frolic” a film by Gérard De Smaele and Patrick Ferryn See the full program at derrolladamsbanjoree.be/ Looking forward to seeing you there
