As a fireman, this is an absolute disgrace. Not one of those people deserves to be in emergency services for the rest of their lives.
Is it standard procedure for a fireman to automatically go through a home regardless of if you were told that there was no one inside?
Did the fireman know that she was in there but chicken out knowing how intense the fire was ?
Even if they truly believed no one was in there, why are they having fun taking videos? They weren't even curious where the homeowner was or if any pets were inside. I lost everything I owned in a fire, and it's devasting enough but no one was hurt. I wouldn't want firemen just sitting around taking videos of my house & everything I own burn to the ground. My heart is broken for her & everyone who loved her. She sounded like the sweetest thing.
I certainly hope these firefighters weren’t full time professionals. If they were they should be jailed. Unfortunately many firefighters are part time firefighters trying to be a full time hero’s and their abilities and attitude reflect it . Hopefully steps were taken to ensure this doesn’t happen again but generally nothing will change .
I had a fire situation once. Had to call the fire dept. I only lived like 2-3 miles from the fire department. It took them 23 MINUTES to make it to us!!!! All we had at the time was a land line and I was calling them FOUR TIMES, asking them ARE YOU COMING?!!! 🤦🏻♀️🤬
As an EMT this made me sick to my stomach. That dispatch was TERRIBLE, The response time was WORSE and this poor woman through the whole thing tried to have a sense of humor, while she was dying.......These Emergency services need to be investigated, fired, charged and Sued
Fired? They should have been charged with manslaughter!
Unfortunately that’s not how the law works
Resigned not fired btw.
Agreed.
Damn Right
They found it unconstitutional to force law enforcement and e.m m.s. to have to do their jobs. This actually went to trial in Florida after the MSDHS shooting. A Broward Sherriffs officer failed to try to neutralize the school shooter that killed 19 Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School students and the community was outraged. It's sad. I think there should be some sort of law that these people get charged with. . . Dereliction of duty, gross misconduct anything. It's sad these idiots probably got away Scott free!!! 😠 😡
For this reason a person with poor mobility shouldn’t be left alone.
What gets me her husband left her to go have fun! She needed help

Haunts me forever!
This 911 call is one of the most brutal I've ever listened to.
Yeah, this is pretty painful to listen to.
As a former police dispatcher, this recording made me furious! While part of the training is to remain calm at all times, there's also a level of empathy that should be in play. Also the amount of dead air (forgive the phrasing) on this call is unreal!! Someone being trapped is literally the first info that should've been relayed over the radio. That dispatches police, fire AND medical. RIP Ms. Loretta. You didn't deserve this ❤
Why didn't her supervisor call the firefighters to tell them she was in the house. Dear God this poor women. God bless her ❤
That operator shut up she's gone she's gone and your dumb ass is talking to the fire now
By far, worst ever
😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
When she said can I call somebody and the dispatcher said no, I thought WHAT!? Maybe she had a neighbor close by that could have helped her out!
My sentiments exactly!!!
She gave them the number of the friend and asked them to call for her friend to come. But because the firemen showed up fairly quickly, they didn't call the friend.
This is the worst thing I have ever heard in my life. A little bit of peace at the end when you wiped off her grave stone, giving a sense of respect and love for this poor woman after an horrific death. Thank you Lamont, you’re a good man.

She’s so kind too, apologizing in the call for nothing. Angel.

The firefighter belonged to a union and he was black, the victim was white, that is how he got away with it. Black privilege!

4:20 She said she couldn’t get on the floor. She said she was sitting on her Walker, that was as low as she could get. I wished she would have told her to just fall down. I no know she just had hip surgery so she couldn’t physically get in the floor.
@@Sea-cucumber1151 Yes, if no rescue is coming or is far off, definitely fall on the floor, even if its a slow crawl, still a better chance that not trying. The poor woman was putting her life in their hands and they failed her .
Are you guys forgetting she just had hip surgery?! She wasn’t able to move like we can. She needed help to walk, how could she fall to the floor and try to crawl out? The best she could have done is try to get to the other door with the walker - which the dispatcher should have told her to do since she could not get out of the front door. Also, she said she usually did better going to the bathroom with the walker. This beautiful lady was paralyzed with fear!

I felt that the dispatcher was compassionate, and I think she did her best. That's me right now, and crying for the suffering she must have gone through, 😭.
I am so sad for her and her family. This is terrible. I can't imagine the suffering.Asking her to get out on her own! If she could she would have. No one wants to burn like that! I will never forget this story...
Rest in peace sweet Lorretta. I am so sorry they failed you. You are with James now for eternity. No more pain. Absolutely heart breaking...
Big F deal. I can't even imagine the terror that poor woman felt as those flames got closer and closer and the smoke filled up the house. The firefighters are on their cellphones. They should of filed criminal charges against them !!!
This is heart breaking. The dispatching expecting her to answer questions when she’s in a house full of smoke. I can barely listen to it.
My heart just drops when I heard her screaming like that God 😢 why lord why 😞
This is the saddest thing I've ever listened to ! I pray she's happy in Heaven.
That was the utmost cruelty. She told them many times about the hip. They should have at least attempted to find her.
Poor woman. RIP.
It’s amazing what jobs some people have! (They reveal their intelligence & whether they’re qualified if ya listen & watch them carefully!)
There are cops sheriffs police etc all around in diff areas!!! Notify them or the police dispatcher to assist in the extraction of a helpless person!
Get The Woman Out Of The House!!! I’m willing to bet there was a law official close enough to get there on time!
They unfortunately probably weren’t notified!!!!
Common sense goes a long way if ya got any! Ikr! I’m so saddened by this ordeal!
Dispatcher- " Is the fire near you?" No lady she is being burned alive! You can hear her screaming from the flames burning her alive! Jeez!
And bon fire style sound in the background! 😡
I don't understand the dispatcher said she told the firefighters she was in there the firefighter say they didn't know she was in there somebody's lying
@@vickierinehart4434The Fire Dept Claimed Their Computer Was Down & They Didnt See The Notes Sent From The 911 Dispatcher
Listening to her voice is absolutely heartbreaking. Rest In Peace Mrs. Pickard.❤🙏
The fire captain blamed the media in his resignation letter 🙄.
Smh
This broke my heart! That poor woman should have been treated with dignity and respect! Those firefighters should have been charged with criminal negligence or something!
OMG, hearing this poor sweet woman, scared and suffering just broke me.
You're a very good man, Lamont. The way you talk about these people who have passed is full of empathy and how you even clean their headstones...It's very moving. I just visited our local cemetery here in Finland yesterday with my mom and it made me think about the life stories of the people buried there. Keep up the good work, your videos are very interesting!
I don’t often comment on videos, but this broke my heart. I cannot believe they allowed this to happen and for so long. There was PLENTY of time to save her and to hear her burning alive was gut-wrenching.
yeah 😓 i hope theirs a heaven
This 911 dispatch call should be played for all new dispatchers and fire fighters, police to make sure they understand the urgency and to learn communication skills
Why didn't they know she was inside her home. I don't understand how all that happened and they didn't get her out.
My heart goes out to this woman every time I watch this.
This is sickening and the family needs to sue them all
She passed just 5 days away from her 77th birthday . Due to incompetence . RIP🧚♀🧚🧚♂
I really felt horrible when I realized she passed on my birthday. May she RIP
I was saying the same thing 😒😢💔 She died days before Her birthday, I can't get her screams out my head 😢😢
RIP 😢✌️🙏
Why didnt the firefighters think there was anyone in the house, didnt the dispatcher tell them??
I know I thought the same thing. And took so long. Such a shame
no the dispatcher did not tell them such dumb heartless people in this world nowadays
Doesn't this exonerate the firefighters from criminal charges? They did not know the house had an occupant. They violated policy by posting the video. That is why their punishment was so lenient. The dispatcher who failed to notify the firefighters of a person inside is the one that should be held criminally responsible. And even then, I did not sense any malice or intent. They just made a mistake. A costly one. OR ... am I missing something?
@@mrzugzug no it doesn't exonerate them because she did tell them even though she was dumb like the rest
Cause they didn’t think nobody could be that stupid
This is beyond heartbreaking.
She's SCREAMING and is asked, "Is the fire near you?"...remaining calm is the most important thing of course.
