The two teams that make it to the finals (Fukurodani and Itachiyama) become the representatives of the Tokyo Prefecture for nationals. However, since Tokyo is also hosting the national tournament, it also gets a venue sponsor, meaning there are going to be three teams from Tokyo at the national tournament. This venue sponsor spot is what the losers of the semi-finals (Nekoma and Nohebi) play for. Hope that makes sense!

Taketora told him he looks like a ghost with his black long hair, he always looking down and also that he stands out so, because of that Kenma bleached his hair all blonde to not look like a ghost but ended up standing out even more that before. Kuroo told him that it's going to be a trouble to bleach it every time and Kenma said that he's not gonna do such a thing. That's how Kenma got his pudding head xd

“Kenma is so chill like he didn’t even move his feet” that’s nekoma’s strength. Their defense is so good they pass perfect almost every time. Their ground game is so good they don’t need a super star because they can all pull off solid receives to give kenma all the time and options possible.
Fun fact about Kenma's hair: He originally has really black hair, but Taketora (the guy who resembles Tanaka) commented that his black hair makes him stand out a lot. Since Kenma is an introvert and doesn't want to attract too much attention, he decided to dye it blonde which made him stand out even more and right now he just let it grow out^^
I hope Vic at least took the time to watch season 4 for her own enjoyment because it really is a great season. Hopefully her burnout of doing videos didn’t kill her joy of the series

I’m not a member of the fandom that interacts too much with creators but I’ve learned this show brings joy to so many people (hopefully you’re included). It stinks to see some people making a fuss over not seeing a reaction video when the Homies know you have A LOT going on. It should be a fun thing. Kenma is like the shot caller. And his brain works insanely different from the others. One of his strength is that he never let's his composure crumble easily. He's not the type to succumb easily to pressure. Those things makes him calmer to think ahead of the game. Not to mention he's also smart. He's like if Tsukishima can get even calmer and more laid back, that's Kenma.

If you’re wondering there was an art style change between season 3 and these OVAs/season 4. The comics slowly change over time as the chapters are released weekly over years, so the studio decided to do the show in the newer style. But be prepared, there’s some funky animation because of production issues during covid. The animators did their best with the conditions they were under but sometimes things look a little rough. So please be gentle when things look… iffy. And idk if you figure it out by the end of the episode, but this is like the Tokyo version of the tournament karasuno was just in! They’re trying to get to nationals (which karasuno has already qualified for). And Tokyo gets to send three teams because it’s such a big prefecture and they’re hosting. So Fukurodani (Bokuto’s team) is in, but Nekoma is still playing to try to get into nationals!

Lev is a new player. He joined between Season 1 and 2. He’s physically talented, both tall and fast and good reflexes. But he’s raw and inexperienced. In the OVA between seasons (I forget if you’ve seen it or not) Kenma and Lev built a rapport. That’s why the coach put Kenma sort of in charge of Lev.
This OVA is happening after season 3 (or during) While Miyagi, the region our Karasuno is from, only gets one representative to compete for Nationals, (Karasuno won against Shiratorizawa in the finals in S3 so Karasuno is the team that gets to compete in the National Tournament), Tokyo, being a larger region gets 2 teams + 1 for hosting the tournament. This is what the OVA is about. The teams that place 1st, 2nd (Finalists) and 3rd are allowed to compete in the National Tournament.

Quick recap of what happened until now: Japan is divided into prefecutres, twice a year it's held the national volleyball tournament (spring tournament) between the representative of the prefecutres .In order to access this tournament there are prefectural qualifiers tournaments; the first Karasuno lost to Aoba Johsai (Oikawa's team) and the second one they won to Shiratorizawa (Ushijima's team) so now Karasuno is the representative for Miyagi (end of season 3)...now on the ova they're deciding the representative for Tokyo which can have 2, since it's a big prefecture + another spot since they're hosting the tournament for a total of 3...4 teams made to semi-finals (Nohebi,Itachiyama,Fukoradani,Nekoma) and since both Nohebi and Nekoma lost their first match, now they're fighting for the last spot at the tournament

Yaaay! Ok, in the 4th season watch out for character development and dealing with anxiety cause they are some major themes there. Obviously good games, but animation goes down a bit time by time, and basically just consistency goes down. And about the haters, don’t listen to them. Really ridiculous that they would hate you for not having the same schedule, and more after all the things you are doing. Take how much time you need to upload the videos, we will enjoy them, and more importantly is that you enjoy the anime! If you don’t there is no point to it

I sometimes feel like knowing nothing about volleyball going into Haikyuu made it easier to understand somehow because I'm not already primed with IRL volleyball information, so I have to pay extra attention to the show and take everything at face value 🤔like with these OVAs they mention that 3 of the 4 teams get to play in nationals and I was just like "okay sure sounds legit" LOL - you have so much more insight when it comes to the actual internal workings of the match, and I feel like I'm learning more from you about the show that /I/ didn't understand. I was very excited to see your video after the break, i actually got into volleyball from watching your videos and now i’m the president of my university’s newly formed volleyball club and our very first tournament is coming up next month. I have to say thank you for getting me interested in volleyball and your videos have helped me become a better player. I thank you for putting out these videos in your free time and i eagerly await your next video whenever you happen to put it out. I'm halfway in the video but just thought I'd comment it in advance. Every prefecture has a limited number of qualifying spots for the National Tournament, and this is taking place in Tokyo which normally only has 2 spots. In the Land vs Air OVA, there are 4 teams competing: Fukurodani, Itachiyama, Nekoma, and Nohebi. Fukurodani beat Nekoma and Itachiyama beat Nohebi meaning the two National spots have gone to those two respective teams. However because the National tournament is being held in Tokyo, there is a 3rd spot because the prefecture is the venue sponsor for Nationals. That 3rd qualifying spot for Nationals is what the losing teams, Nekoma and Nohebi, are competing for.

Timeline wise Land VS Air takes place shortly after Season 3. In the second half of Season 3s last episode Hinata gets a text from Kenma saying they made it to the Final Four of Tokyos Qualifier. That is the tournament that we see in the OVA. This tournament will decide which teams play in the National tournament which is being held in Tokyo so 3 of the 4 teams will be attending.

Lev is a new player. He joined between Season 1 and 2. He’s physically talented, both tall and fast and good reflexes. But he’s raw and inexperienced.
In the OVA between seasons (I forget if you’ve seen it or not) Kenma and Lev built a rapport. That’s why the coach put Kenma sort of in charge of Lev.

This OVA is happening after season 3 (or during)
While Miyagi, the region our Karasuno is from, only gets one representative to compete for Nationals, (Karasuno won against Shiratorizawa in the finals in S3 so Karasuno is the team that gets to compete in the National Tournament), Tokyo, being a larger region gets 2 teams + 1 for hosting the tournament.
This is what the OVA is about. The teams that place 1st, 2nd (Finalists) and 3rd are allowed to compete in the National Tournament.

Quick recap of what happened until now: Japan is divided into prefecutres, twice a year it's held the national volleyball tournament (spring tournament) between the representative of the prefecutres .In order to access this tournament there are prefectural qualifiers tournaments; the first Karasuno lost to Aoba Johsai (Oikawa's team) and the second one they won to Shiratorizawa (Ushijima's team) so now Karasuno is the representative for Miyagi (end of season 3)...now on the ova they're deciding the representative for Tokyo which can have 2, since it's a big prefecture + another spot since they're hosting the tournament for a total of 3...4 teams made to semi-finals (Nohebi,Itachiyama,Fukoradani,Nekoma) and since both Nohebi and Nekoma lost their first match, now they're fighting for the last spot at the tournament

Yaaay! Ok, in the 4th season watch out for character development and dealing with anxiety cause they are some major themes there. Obviously good games, but animation goes down a bit time by time, and basically just consistency goes down.
And about the haters, don’t listen to them. Really ridiculous that they would hate you for not having the same schedule, and more after all the things you are doing. Take how much time you need to upload the videos, we will enjoy them, and more importantly is that you enjoy the anime! If you don’t there is no point to it

I sometimes feel like knowing nothing about volleyball going into Haikyuu made it easier to understand somehow because I'm not already primed with IRL volleyball information, so I have to pay extra attention to the show and take everything at face value 🤔like with these OVAs they mention that 3 of the 4 teams get to play in nationals and I was just like "okay sure sounds legit" LOL - you have so much more insight when it comes to the actual internal workings of the match, and I feel like I'm learning more from you about the show that /I/ didn't understand. I'm halfway in the video but just thought I'd comment it in advance. Every prefecture has a limited number of qualifying spots for the National Tournament, and this is taking place in Tokyo which normally only has 2 spots. In the Land vs Air OVA, there are 4 teams competing: Fukurodani, Itachiyama, Nekoma, and Nohebi.
Fukurodani beat Nekoma and Itachiyama beat Nohebi meaning the two National spots have gone to those two respective teams. However because the National tournament is being held in Tokyo, there is a 3rd spot because the prefecture is the venue sponsor for Nationals. That 3rd qualifying spot for Nationals is what the losing teams, Nekoma and Nohebi, are competing for.

Timeline wise Land VS Air takes place shortly after Season 3. In the second half of Season 3s last episode Hinata gets a text from Kenma saying they made it to the Final Four of Tokyos Qualifier. That is the tournament that we see in the OVA. This tournament will decide which teams play in the National tournament which is being held in Tokyo so 3 of the 4 teams will be attending.
