Ireland v New Zealand | Rugby Highlights | Autumn Nations Series

  • One of the finest games to have graced the Aviva stadium as Ireland beat the mighty All Blacks with the first full house at an Irish rugby match since pre-Covid. Proving too good for Japan a week prior, the question was could Ireland continue to pursue their desired brand of rugby while competing against the world's best? With repeated breathtaking attacking play Irelad scored tries from Lowe, Kelleher and Doris forced the New Zealand to respond with tries of their own from Taylor and Jordan but Fly-half Carbery was introduced with 15 minutes remaining tasked with guiding his side home and he did it in style. Final score Ireland 29 - 20 New Zealand.

Well his first action of the game was to ignore the ref and lay all over the ball giving away a penalty.
Pete has his ups and downs, and some of his downs have cost Ireland badly in the past. I wouldn't be going around singing his praises too much, a healthy pat on the back is sufficient.

🇮🇪 Ireland’s quick short passes wore the All Black’s down, they had to make so many tackles! But my most favourite tackle was that of James Lowe and Peter O’Maheny. It looked like I was watching National Geographic filming on the Serengeti where a zebra tried to escape the rumble but got splendidly caught by two highly skilled leopards, just waiting for the kill!
This was a brilliant game! Fair play to both teams, but in this match the All Blacks were beautifully outsmarted by the green legion ☘️
And a thumbs up for the referee who wasn’t afraid to call the All Blacks forward pass and denied the try.
80 minutes of my life being absolutely happy, especially in the pub! RUGBY! What a sport!
Congratulations to the Irish team from a Dutch girl, living in Ireland and a huge fan of 💙Leinster Rugby💙.

I'm a bit disappointed we didn't win by more, we need to be more clinical in future (e.g. that 14 point swing with the Furlong disallowed try, which was the right decision, leading to an AB score), but wow that All Black try line defence was immense!
Huge win though, hopefully we can take this team all the way to the next World Cup instead of always being our best in the interim

I'm exited lads, we have world class front row and we have depth and an fresh new attacking playstyle. We need depth in our half backs, which hopefully we can get with Casey/Healy/Carbery and Byrne.

Just a massive question mark at 9 and 10 for the foreseeable future? Also if we get into a battle with bigger sides we are still left wanting unless we really develop this attacking game based on speed and fitness. I cant see us winning against SA, France, Australia or even England in the physical stakes so I hope we keep up this style of play.

As a Saffa, it was a brilliant series win over the AB's, but as history shows, all teams have their down times, and their peak times. In my humble opinion, Ireland had the upper hand over most international teams last year, when they went through troubled times! One must be foolish to think that teams like the AB's and even the Boks will not be back in full form for RWC 2023, especially when they both have 3 world cup titles behind them. Maybe it's time for change, who knows. Only time will tell. Be it as it is. May the best team win.
