    it would be a great idea to make a video about how to clean an apartment you just rent, especially when someone used to live there. it's not that easy as we think. I rent a new apartment a few months ago. at first glance it was quite clean. but when we started cleaning we found out it was soooo dirty. we were cleaning three whole days. I doubt the previous owner had ever cleaned it.

      Haha, as a 17 years, young carer with ill parents and 5 younger siblings aged 12 to 3, my house always looks dirty.
      I deep cleaned the kitchen a couple of days ago, now when I walk in there it makes me want to cry...
      All my hard work down the drain...

      +Habiba Choudhary I'm sorry for your parents. I wish them to overcome this situation and get well soon! you seem to be a strong girl who tries to help her family and keep a house clean. but trust me, the previous owner was just really messy and dirty. she was living on her own. the house was black from the dirt. we moved the sofas and we found tones of pet hair, pet poop (!), rotten dog food(inside her dog's food) and many more disgusting things. when you leave a house, you have to clean it. it's a matter of respect!

    with respect to YOU. as I look at this video. there is so much I need to show you about how to clean. you have good ideas BUT a lot of them need to be readjusted. and made simpler for people. Exp : fold as you take them out of the Dryer, because you will leave the full bag on the bed, chair etc. clean off the dishes before putting in dishwasher. let your pot soak for awhile .also put water in the sink with a little bit of javex or vinegar to disinfect all etc. PS you do have many great ideas. I'm a clean and organized mature women. 😊Thank You for listening.

    I got this idea from a magazine I think: I run hot water in my bathroom sink and throw in some baking soda and (generic) Listerine. I get the biggest bottle of the "regular" generic or store brand of Listerine. Then let my brushes soak for a while. I don't measure or time it. Comes clean with no scrubbing, but I do "scrub" combs with the brushes. I know you couldn't do that with wood handled brushes, mine are not.

  • @emilyc4351
    @emilyc4351 6 лет назад +1

    Just 1. pull out as much hair as you can 2. place in a bowl of very hot soapy water and let it sit for 5-10 minutes to loosen up the lint 3. pinch each bristle and pull the lint up easily, entire brush should take like 3 minutes. it's not that bad

    2 steps to add to make this easier and to disinfect. I do use a comb instead of pen to initially pull out the hair. why risk getting ink or dirtier yuckies into your brush. THEN, I USE THE HOSE ATTACHMENT OF MY VACUUM CLEANER TO SUCK OUT MOST OF THE LINT. very little manual labor to follow. no need to be so gentle on your brushes as to use baby shampoo. dish detergent cuts grease much better. I use Dawn and very little. If you have expensive wood brushes, just put enough detergent/water in your sink to soak the bristles and then gently hand wash the rest before the next step. THEN FOLLOW UP WITH A SECOND STEP IN YOUR SINK WITH VINEGAR AND WATER to disinfect and to really cut grease. Again, take care with expensive wood brushes. Always dry your brushes face down.

    I use powder washing detergent (for clothes) in some warm water and soak brushes in this first. It breaks down and removes grease and oils (yuck, but we all get it in our brushes), making them easier to clean and remove hair.
    An added benefit is that the brushes also smell nicer after.

  • @braajesh

    Simpler way:
    1.Take utensil which fits ur hair brush
    2. Full with water
    3. Put baking soda 1 teaspoon
    4. A little bit of shampoo
    5. A little bit of hand wash (optional)
    6.Let it sit for 1 hour ig and done!!

    PSA: wet brush. Grab DENTAL FLOSS STICK with tooth pick on one end. turn brush upside down over counter. Rake floss from inside of brush to outside (downward motion). Have floss covering three different tips of brush for maximum affect. Watch all the pieces fall. For pieces that don’t fall you can pick off with fingers now. YOUR WELCOME

    This removed ALL the filth from my brush. But I didn’t do the exact same as the person in the video.
    vvv
    - You don’t need pen, hair comb or scissors, only toothbrush & shampoowater
    - Pull as much hair as you can with your fingers
    - Start scrubbing the whole brush part, scrub 10-20 seconds, add a bit force to it
    - Rinse with slight cold water and run your fingers smoothly through the brush while rinsing it
    - Repeat the scrub and rince process until you feel it’s enough
    - Pull out any remaining hair
    ****Do not forget**** to clean your toothbrush after this!
    watch out tho, the brush can and will shoot back at you

    Even when I do this I still have weird, sticky (probably from hair products) lint stuff wrapped around the bottom of each bristle. I can grab the thing and pull it upwards, but then it gets stuck at the round ball thing at the top of the bristles. I have to use tweezers and a scalpel to get them off and that takes forever.

    • @kaena011

      +kaena011 The toothbrush bristles are long enough to reach the base since the hair brush's bristles bend.

      The base looked clean but there was still fluff caught on the tips. That will soak up oil and product, I think that brush should be replaced. The frayed edges will snag on hair losing more hair than necessary.

    I always pull out the hair after I brush, so there's never any hair in my brush, but it gets little lint balls at the base of the bristles. Where does the lint come from???

    • @erarebirth
      @erarebirth 8 лет назад +65

      I'm guessing it's maybe dust that just falls from air and getting trapped in any residual hair oils/product >.

    • @AnnaKaize

      Me too! And those goddamn lint balls are almost impossible to remove. I have to use tweezers and pull them off one by one. Extremely tedious and time consuming.

    • @Appleita

      I think most of the lint comes from our pillowcases.

    This sure beats my method: rip out most of the hair with my hands, then spend an hour (or two) with a pair of tweezers, plucking out the lint and remaining hair. I'll definitely give this a try!

    What I normally do is soak my brushes in the sink with baby shampoo or inexpensive shampoo like VO5 for a few minutes. Then I rub two brushes together (bristles against bristles). It deep cleans each brush and balls up the hair for you. Allowing you to easily pick out one hairball from two brushes. 😀

    Mine was no where near that bad... I always remove the hair after brushing but those little lint balls drive me crazy!!! I would sit and pick and pick the toothbrush trick works great!!! I did after my weekly soaking of all of my brushes in barbacide worked like a charm!!! Thank you!!

    The only thing that I highly question about these squishy brushes with the air in them. What if water gets in there. Can't mold grow?

    There a much easier way to clean your hair brushes! Remove as much of the hair that is left in your brush. Use Hot water just about as hot as you can get it add some baking soda place your brushes in to soak for about 10 minutes sprinkle a little baking soda on the bristles of your brush and let it sit to soak. After 10 minutes take it out and rinse well and your good to go. No scrubbing involved!

    Thank you for this! I couldn’t figure out why my hair was so oily after getting out of the shower and blow drying it. It was my hair brush...
    I will probably use Dawn dish soap instead since it’s a little stronger than shampoo though.

  • @Appleita
    @Appleita 8 лет назад +4

    The way I do it is to pull the hairs out of the brushes and then run hot water in a bowl big enough to hold all my combs and brushes Add some water softener and a tiny bit of dish soap and let it soak for about 10 minutes. Then swish it all around and everything should be loosened from the brushes and combs. If anything is still clinging you can use a toothbrush or the bristles of a hairbrush to get it. But usually I don't need to do anything more. Rinse and stand them in a glass or cup to air dry.

    Excellent video! I had used a comb to lift most of the gunk and hair around the edges but couldn't get to the middle. Everything came super clean within a moment with the toothbrush! I should have known. The answer to cleaning almost anything is use a toothbrush. I keep one in the kitchen for specifically that reason.
