Great video. Can you also post for Mirra's chair? I just snapped the height adjustment lever on the Mirra one which I want to replace now. Please help.
I didn't have a forward tilt cam on my classic. Luckily, the kit I bought came with one. Here's how I did it: Remove the c-clip (I used a small screwdriver) disconnect the spring remove the plastic part while tilting the seat back Insert the forward tilt cam while tilting the seat back Connect the spring Re-attach the c-clip with pliers Also, another comment mentioned it, but there is a screw holding the lower housing!!! DO NOT force it until you remove the screw!!!
I have a classic chair from 2014. Are the front tilt cam & rear lock gear already installed on the aeron chair? I noticed in the video they are already installed but that the package you buy comes with them still.
Just some questions please: Are these parts for just the forward and rear tilt controls? Is this kit for when you need a replacement forward and rear tilt control or to upgrade your Aeron chair if you don't have those controls already? How do I know if this will work on my particular Aeron chair? Thank you. By the way, you misspelled Aeron. Thanks.
Depends. There are a few things it could be. First: Cables are the first thing I would check make sure they are properly installed to the mechanism on the inside of the chair. Second: Gas lift cylinder (you can get a new one on Amazon cheap)
Thanks for the video. My chair doesn't need new cables, but the forward tilt piece (where the cable attaches) seems to be frozen. Do you know what's wrong, and how to fix that?
@@taylord2655 I'm not super sure how the mechanism works, but the tilt forward gear piece does not shift like the rear tilt one does-- so I actually had it installed and working correctly. If you are doing this, just install it like it's done in the video, then follow the directions for using the forward tilt. You need to unlock both forward and rear tilt to allow the chair to tilt forward.
I just shattered the lower housing "just push down on it" - don't mind that there is a screw you have to remove first.
Helpful video. Thanks. But why put text right across the screen on the most important detail for me (forward tilt cable attachment)?!?!
The funny thing is he hasn't even answered a single question here lmao
Just ordered my cables. Thank you very much for this 🙏

Great. Works like a charm. As a heads up, the forward tilt mechanism doesn't work until the backwards tilt mechanism is unlocked.
Just bought the cables, will be trying this out today.
and?

Thanks for the video, looking forward to the install. I'm trying to get past the fact that you didn't clean the parts when you had the seat off. :|
Peeps Clean the chair as you disassemble or assemble back up. It will work smoother
Thanks for this very helpful video.

Can I add this function to my Aeron if my chair does not have this function when it was manufactured? Thanks, please let me know!
Yes, the chair has all these parts in them from the manufacture.
@@raulthegreat7982 do u mean all I have to just add the switch and the parts on the video then I can lean my chair forward?
Yes, inside the chair the parts are already in there if you buy the switches all you have to do is plug and play
i have a 1995 Aeron chair that is just tilted all the way back and will not stay on normal position. what could this problem be?
The rear tilt is completely stuck in the locked position and won't come undone. Any ideas??
What is the name of the tool to be purchased to open the screws? 6 inch allen wrench?

I have the same questions.
This kit can be used for repair or upgrade. These should work for both the classic Aeron chair and the remastered version.

I'm having the same issue. Were you ever able to figure it out?
Never mind! I figured it out.

Totally lost on the whole forward tilt part
What do you need clarification on ?
Yeah same. My forward tilt doesn't hold and jolts forward. Took it apart to see if I could find something obvious but not seeing anything.
The forward tilt can only lock if the rear tilt isn’t locked and you need to lean all the way back.
