Good video, one correction: Both controls can indeed be "up". This locks it in forward tilt mode. Process as follows: Unlock rear tilt (down), lean back, activate forward tilt ("up" position), lean forward, lock the rear tilt again by setting it to the "up" position. Now both is up and chair is locked in forward tilt.
Can you believe that after purchasing and sitting in a used Aeron chair for several years and NEVER being able to activate the forward tilt feature, your simple explanation explained the proper operation......I am now leaning forward and saving my back. THANK YOU!!

Thanks for the video and clear presentation! Do you get more rotational play in the seat when locked forward than when locked up without the forward tilt engaged? For me in the latter case, there is very little play in the mechanism, while with the forward tilt engaged, the chair doesn't lock quite as securely and I lose a couple of degrees of forward tilt as a result (since my butt naturally falls backwards until the lock engages).

Hey! Does the kit include the gears for pre-2012? Or just the cable & levers? (I have the chair with the wheels for the arm adjusts so pre 2004?) I have the tilt-back limiter, just not the tilt forward part

awesome i just got one used for 60 bucks and all it had was something was jammed once i open it worked like new....

For chairs missing the "born on" date, do you have a way to easily identify if the replacement gear is necessary or what type is installed?
Hi, you can open the mech cover and check the gears from both side to see if they are new version or old version.
