Fashion and interior designer Camila Triderman's narrow 1930s modernist apartment has been transformed into a character-filled, functional home with the help of architect and designer Eugenia Gatti of Estudio Dott. Preserving original features like the arched Catalan vault ceiling and exposed wooden beams, the renovation introduces a single seamless wooden joinery element that flows through the space, uniting the kitchen, study, storage, and wardrobe. The cosy bedroom can be separated by a linen curtain, allowing soft natural light to filter in, while the bright living area features a Danish-designed sofa bed and opens onto a stunning balcony view. With a blend of thoughtful design and personal style, this home is a timeless, inviting retreat in the heart of Barcelona.

Holy moly they actually made an episode with less than 30sqm apartment. Truly a never too small

The funny thing is that they make 10 minutes episodes with those little apartments when you could do it in like three minutes.

It makes such a difference in these small spaces to have some architectural detail - that ceiling is a treasure. It's hard to imagine anyone being thrilled in future years to uncover the original features of our developer-built housing. A lovely little space and clever use of the length with the one built-in piece.

This apartment was definitely a challenge with this long small shape. They did a great job, and the balcony is a plus! I also like that they didnt customize everything, but just the kitchen/wardrobe and used vintage design furnitures to make it more personal.

I love how they designed this incredibly small space! It is extremely functional and cozy. The layout truly maximizes the natural light. Situating the living room next to the balcony was a smart choice. My favorite part is the ceiling. It adds so much character and charm to the home. Bravo!

Agree that it's a smart idea to have the bed on the darker side of the apartment. However, I do find it kinda strange to see the bed right as you enter the apartment 😂 I would've put a Murphy bed instead.

    Lovely, and mainly, very functional!
One really doesn't more (space!) to live a quality life! I love BCN to death; the time I lived there was fantastic and absolutely unique, thanks to its original architecture, among other things.
Kudos to the cooperation of the owner and the architect who together created a very livable space without spending tons of money on useless total remodeling and compromising the owner's needs. The light distribution is well-thought, and the vaulted ceiling is a hidden gem of this small space.
Though the entire apartment is pretty minimalistic, the overall impression is rather cozy, though modern.
I am a big fan of the originally Hungarian architect Marcel Breuer, and I have been in love with his Cesca chair forever, so I am thrilled to see it in this small cutie.
    Well done, ladies!

Murphy beds are annoying, and I haven't found a reasonably priced one that looks good and has aesthetic legs. Even in the smallest spaces I wouldn't put a murphy bed, I would live with japanese tatami and futon first. Plus, I just like to flop onto the bed when I get home or I'm tired at night! I don't want to fuss with a murphy bed.

We manage to integrate all of our daily functions into such a small space, and that can go two ways:
1-we end up naturalizing that space is not as needed as we had thought (which is true to some extent)
2-by doing that, people that offer living spaces will end up offering less and less, since "there is no need for more"
