I really liked Laura's design overall, yet I also liked Xavier's thought that roomies are not always going to agree on decor. I thought that Laura's design was calming. I really loved Patrick's map, but I would as a geographer. I am disappointed that none of them did anything about storage or a food station (fridge & microwave).
Patrick, you nailed it! I would do that even on a kids bedroom. Laura, it's great, well thought, warm, beautiful and functional. I like the way you bring plants into spaces. Xavier, what is that?
I just want to know how the dormmates' rivalry in Xavier's room even started...like what happened on that first day that resulted in THAT design situation lol
This time Patrick is the winner for me. In the beginning i was more fond of Lauras but when it finally all came together Patrick's had the most inviting colour combination for me. I find his room the most practical with the book shelves, storage under the bed and the cork. I also liked that they really worked around what's there and didn't just remove the lamp or take out windows, implement a door where there was none before etc. as they did in other episodes.
laura is just wiping the floor with these guys its not even funny how much better her design is, the other guys are so lolrandom but her vision is so elegant and cozy and warm
I think I would wake up screaming in Xavier's design. I didn't live in a dorm in college, but I did in the Air Force and I would have loved either Laura's or Patrick's design. And since you lived in those rooms longer and the rooms were a little larger and was only for one person, I could have easily did both of these designs and would have won dorm room of the month every month hands down.
Patrick's room makes the most sense for a college student. Laura's room is beautiful but those beds and chair look so uncomfortable. As a student myself I could never sit and study on a chair like that for more than 30 minutes
You need to do a video where someone with no design experience pretends to be one of the designers because at this point I don’t think I could tell the difference lol
Xavier was obviously inspired by Wednesday and it was quite funny to me that he was explaining how that thing ended up there liked that 😂 love his playful smile and the twinkle in his eyes ❤ But Laura's dorm has to be my favourite and them relating to their dorms at the round table is so pure 😭
The lowering of the beds made it feel so much more intimate. In college my roommate and I had a similar kind of room but we turned it so I was the window side and he was closer to the door. Then we put the desks side by side between them because... it's way more comfortable to not have someone you barely know just kinda looking over at you while you sleep.
A combination of Patrick and Laura's desgins would be the best. Love the desk and shelves by the window and Laura's colours and textures. They just need to give proper chairs to those students.
The goal was to be practical yet fun. Laura's was boringly practical, Patrick's was fun, maybe even too much, and Xavier's was imaginative yet practical, loved the map wallpaper, placement of the desk, living room type of layout ❤
I love this series, i also feel like people take the series a bit too seriously, so many people complaining about the dorm rooms loool. It's not really about the room, they are displaying their expertise, they get traction and exposure being on here for more clients, they are very aware about the restrictions of actual dorm rooms, but as they say EVERY EPISODE, No clients and no restrictions
Yes, I really like the muted colors he used. And the fact that he alone thinks on putting the desk near the window is very functional, atleast he considered the use of one and only window in that room though I'm getting very detailed 😅
I really wish they had called Darren and Noz back for this. They were my faves! Also, I really wanna have some of the stuff Xavier smoked before doing his dorm room 🤣
Xavier went completely bonkers for the dorm room lmao, but I appreciate an artistic outlook Patrick’s was cool, but I really hate the map wallpaper... Laura’s was very nice, minimalistic, practical, the colors look very nice together. That was a fun experiment!
laura has the the most functional and practical design, but no for the chair. we will eventually get back pain if we sit on that chair for a long time to study. tall office chair is the best. on the hand, i like patrick's layout for the study space, i think it's more fun and refreshing to me if i can study near windows.

do they not understand that all university furniture has to stay in the room the entire year???? there's so much you can do utilizing what's given that would actually be a creative challenge, and is actually on topic. this is just design a small apartment.
This whole show is kind of a joke. So basically they just decorated a room with stuff NO college kid could do under dorm parameters and most can't afford. Talk about tone-deaf.
@@suelyons531 That’s the point. “No clients, no restrictions” that’s literally the point. That’s why the rooms look like this and they replace everything. Because there is no real client or restriction. But most of these interior designers get carried away by the aesthetic and creativity rather than the function of the room
@@Lu.4327 i understand the point of the series, but every other video they still have to make what the room is. these aren't dorm rooms they're studio apartments.
@@browncesario Honestly my biggest issue is that they are literally not functional rooms (maybe Laura is the only one who thinks about the functionality) It would be better if AD made this series with like budgets included and more limits to really show the true creativity of interior designers and not just let them be with 0 restrictions.
@@suelyons531 Oh brother, way to miss the whole point of the series.
The study chair recommended by the lady? OMG my back hurts as soon as I heard it 😭😭
If I designed my own room, it would look like Laura’s. If I pulled a wild card and was surprised with Patrick’s design, I’d love it.
I’d completely de-enroll and change school’s if I opened my dorm room to see Xavier’s design. 🙃
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Clever content but would rather have seen how designers worked with furniture provided . That's real life.
That’s the point of this series tho, forgetting restrictions so that they can do whatever they want
There's plenty of budget, diy, college content out there. This is about creative freedom.
@@chiraine1 But that usually doesn't exist at colleges. There's a difference between uncommon and "not possible"
Patrick's design looks exactly like the rooms in a psych hospital. the cheap plastic look with the washed-out cold colors was the main aesthetic in many of those hospitals. looking at that room takes me back lol. I think I saw chairs that looked very similar to what he used but they were filled with sand so you couldn't throw them. we even had stools like that in art therapy.
I liked Laura and Patrick’s designs
I love 2/3 of these… I won’t say which ones but I think everyone can figure it out for themselves
15:51 is the best design
All Laura’s needs is like a closet and it’s pure gold.
I REALLY wanted to see this challenge with Noz.
I wonder what kind of ghoulish dorm she had as a student (assuming she went to a dorm).
Yes! And Becky Carter, too.
I do miss Noz. I bet she would've created a whimsical room.
facxtrs si trye ong literally so like we need noxz where is noz like thats facxt tho. broi ius spoitting like bro fr fr fr fr ong 🙏🙏🙏 bring back noz BRINGBACKNOZ
Love the room that Xavier Donnelly envisioned ! That's what they mean when they say 'no restrictions' !
exactly. people aren't ever understanding the theme of the series. it's not meant to be taken seriously enough to insult designers just because it doesn't match your taste 😵💫
xavier lied on his resume
fr 😭
😂😂
He's creating a space that's supposed to feel as though it was hand crafted by warring art students. Being able to deliver that exactly is testament to his skill
Face it. We loved it.
It was definitely
city kid/other kid
boy-girl. or
inside/outside.
Terrible designers 😅 It looks like they're creating a interior design for a competition or a conceptual magazine, just like haute couture cannot be used normally on the streets. Maybe Laura could be applied in real life with adaptations.
I like Patrick’s the most because of the layout (desk under window!!!) and the storage under the beds lol 😂 I liked the colours in Laura’s
please continue the series but also maybe add elements to it like "this is a greek house, keep the structure and style the same but design the interior your own way" prompt. or like an indian architecture, a british house etc. maybe even a dentist waiting area. would love to see everything. just please dont stop the series
Love Xavier’s design! I enjoy some chaos in this series to balance out the more conventional designers haha
🤣🤣🤣🤣
well it does look like a KIDS bedroom
I like to think in Xavier's desings as artistic creations more than real desgins. They're really creative
Laura's design is soo soothing & perfect for a student.
Except the impractical chairs.
I just want to know how the dormmates' rivalry in Xavier's room even started...like what happened on that first day that resulted in THAT design situation lol
Love how they said they hated the bunk beds. Prob cuz they’re older now and grew up. In my undergrad everyone loved the bunk beds. 😂😂
16:36 That's very college and I love it
Love Laura's room! So calming!
I don't think Xavier realises that in a room this small, you'd be mostly looking at the other person's aesthetic lmao
Hands down Laura is the winner here, her designs are simple and elegant.
I like Laura's design style...modern, tailored, and classic😊
If I were an art major or whatever the third guy is about, I’d be living off campus.
I’ve never heard of a college that would let someone completely switch out every piece of furniture like this…
Xavier's room all the way. Love the creativity. And actually giving semi realistic options for how these students could achieve these looks.
The guy in the blue shirt wins all the way! That is a functional door room!
both guys are wearing blue shirts
One has a shirt, and one has a t-shirt.
They're both shirts, with out further explanation or specification there would definitely be some confusion.@@nataliaan
laura is just wiping the floor with these guys its not even funny how much better her design is, the other guys are so lolrandom but her vision is so elegant and cozy and warm
It definitely feels like they did that for this video!
Xaviar's was INCREDIBLE !!! I LOVE his imaginative idea and character-creations - truly a joy to watch. He and Damon are so talented. and the others!
I like Patrick’s design. It’s warm, cozy and inspiring
inspires psychiatric regression
Patrick for me. I love the long desk in front of the window, something rarely, if ever, seen in dorms.
I think you got the two latter designers mixed up😂
I love this series, i also feel like people take the series a bit too seriously, so many people complaining about the dorm rooms loool. It's not really about the room, they are displaying their expertise, they get traction and exposure being on here for more clients, they are very aware about the restrictions of actual dorm rooms, but as they say EVERY EPISODE, No clients and no restrictions
Team Patrick on this one. Peaceful yet alive with a pop of color on the daybeds. The map gives flight to the imagination. Well done.
Yes, I really like the muted colors he used. And the fact that he alone thinks on putting the desk near the window is very functional, atleast he considered the use of one and only window in that room though I'm getting very detailed 😅
I love that they thought about carpet and paper mache bedposts, but barely any thought at all into storage haha.
The rug in laura's design actually made the room feel much larger. I do hope they had some limitations like must have a bed, study area, and storage
I really wish they had called Darren and Noz back for this. They were my faves! Also, I really wanna have some of the stuff Xavier smoked before doing his dorm room 🤣
Xavier went completely bonkers for the dorm room lmao, but I appreciate an artistic outlook
Patrick’s was cool, but I really hate the map wallpaper...
Laura’s was very nice, minimalistic, practical, the colors look very nice together.
That was a fun experiment!
Through this channel i’ve learned that 1 out of every 3 designers are sane in the head
I was floored by Xavier’s storytelling
I love xavier's idea !! It will be rare you have a roommate with the same taste lol
All three designs are so beautiful and inspiring!
Xavier’s been heavily inspired by Wednesday’s dorm room clearly
Ok, but the room of the princess and punk is STUNNING, I will totally adore to live there
laura has the the most functional and practical design, but no for the chair. we will eventually get back pain if we sit on that chair for a long time to study. tall office chair is the best. on the hand, i like patrick's layout for the study space, i think it's more fun and refreshing to me if i can study near windows.
I love the desk near the window
