I have watched too many Rome videos as I am travelling there next week, but this is so far, the best, most informative, and 'not' boring travel video. Well done and thank you! :)
When you get to Terminal Roma, go downstairs. There will be a newsstand in the corner. Go by at least 10 bus tickets. They probably cost around 2 euros. These will get you where you want to go, and if you get lost, can bring you back the main terminal. Public transportation is amazing there and cleaner and way cheaper that a cab.
It was my first time there, and we were using the bus to get around. Make sure to learn the bus routes and get the free map they give you. I got on the wrong bus, and it took the wife and I two miles out of town and told us to get off. It was a beautiful two mile walk back. Kids were playing in the street, and folks were very friendly us. It's a great city!
We did this tour on 07.11.24 and it was the highlight of our 5 week trip around Europe. Our guides name was Kate and she was awesome. Very informative, Passionate, charming and very funny.

@@brunomillalaf8553 The food recs are good, no doubt, but there are also some other of my favourite places: Pizzeria "Il Nuovo Mondo". Extremely good, I grew up eating there, also an extremely un-touristy spot. Also cheap as hell. Trattoria "La Torricella". A bit more expensive, great seafood. Risotrante "Cuccuruccù". One of the most famous across central Rome. Also great views of the river (possibly the prettiest spot of the toxic waste pool that is the Tiber). Also make sure to stop by a by one of the hundreds of "al taglio" pizzerias (you may find them all across Rome). Have fun!
We spent 5 days in Rome. We loved it. Course I was on the internet months before gainig knowledge. Stayed in Monti and walked everywhere. Yep got the steps in.And made sure to get up eearly. Best regards
We did our Rome in a day tour with this company on September 4, 2023 our guide for the tour Michele was the best tour guide ever! Outstanding, in every way, I highly recommend this tour for anyone be ready to walk and enjoy!!
I've watched countless videos on guides to Rome, and this one's by far the best. It's exactly what first time travellers need to know. A brief, compact but concise explanation of the city and things we really need to know if we are travelling without a tour guide. It's excellent work.

Until 30 years ago you could enter without any ticket and there were no barriers in the coliseum. I wasn't even born but my grandpa used to tell me how him and his friends used to play football inside the coliseum, can you imagine that?
The first time I saw the Pieta I was six years old. It was at the 1962 world’s fair in New York City. We were on a moving belt and we saw it up close because back then they did not have it enclosed in glass. That came after somebody shot at it. I will never forget the feeling of seeing that amazing sculpture at such a young age. Since then I’ve seen it three more times, and it still takes my breath away.
@@TheTourGuyVids you’re welcome! When I was a teenager, I read the book Agony and the Ecstasy, a biography on Michealangelo’s life which inspired me to go to Italy and see everything he did! I highly recommend that book!

I took the Rome in a Day tour in April of this year. I did go on a Wednesday and really wish I had picked a different day. As there was an audience with the Pope on that day my tour group did not visit St Peter's Basilica, only the Vatican Museums - luckily including the Sisteen Chapel. Definitely no climbing the dome. Also, we did not enter the Pantheon. We just walked by outside. Lastly, we did not access the lower level of the Coliseum. Only the entry level briefly before going to the upper levels. I'm putting these things down to it being a Wednesday in peak season, but I definitely finished the tour feeling like it was hit and miss. Thankfully I had more time in Rome so I was able to return and do most of the 'missed' sites in my own time. The guide was a lovely chap, so absolutely no complaints there. For reference, I also did the Florence in a Day tour and felt that lived up to expectations a lot more. From memory Coseta was my tour guide and she was outstandingly good. My tips are: Read the fine print when booking your tour, wear comfy shoes and bring a snack or two. You'll have a marvellous time.
One thing ill say is, if possible, book the things you want to see and do in advance. Ideally if there are time slots and stuff, book em. Thank u for making this video!
What season/month is this?
June 2023
Thank u!!🥰
I love Italy 🇮🇹
Same 🫶🏽
We did The Tour Guys Underground Tour of the Colisseum with Julietta in September 2022. It was AMAZING and one of the VERY BEST things we did in Rome, which is one of the greatest historic cities we have visited!. If it's available, definitely do it!!! We have booked a return to Rome in 2024!
Cool. Thank you. What will you do on the next visit?
@@TheTourGuyVids More time to enjoy some Aperol Sprtitzes and more local food. Maybe a food tour! We got all the "major" stuff done on visit 1
I like your style
Rome is my favorite city! This is such a great guide. Thanks, Angel!
Rome is one of the greatest cities in the world. Thanks Chelsea
Thank you so much for this amazing video!! Very informative as I'm planning my Rome itinerary. Is it better to travel by metro or using the FreeNow taxi app?
Generally speaking, taxis are more efficient as the metro does go to major sites but is still limited.
@@TheTourGuyVids Thank you!! ❤️🙏🏽
What a amazing video, you have a follower 👌
Welcome aboard! Thanks so much. Hit that bell so you get alerted to our new video dropping next week
it's always a great pleasure with this event and I love the activities carried out and its content, I enjoyed it and it's gonna be fun to be there for life, I feel good about your comment, and I hope you don't mind being friends
Angel, you've set yourself apart! Any advice on getting to the meeting spot from our cruise terminal docked in Civitavecchia 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM?
Thanks. The easiest/fastest but expensive is to take a taxi from the port.
@@TheTourGuyVids I want to select the 10:15 tour on Sept 12 but if I arrive early, can I join the 9:15 tour…as a solo traveler?
@@mjay8335 no for scheduling and management you have to stick with the tour time that you purchased thanks for joining us
@@TheTourGuyVids Gotcha. Do you know of cruise guests who try to make this Rome in a Day tour coming from Civitavecchia with limited time (meaning is it possible and/or common?)
@@mjay8335 yes they do it all the time. Quite common.
Great videos! Using your tours for when we go to Paris in September
What mic and camera setup are you using?!
Cool. See you in Paris!
Love your videos, you do a great job! On your tour do we get to walk through the Coliseum arena floor, like walking through the underneath the floor?
I just did the arena floor but you can do the underground too if you want. Different tour. See links in description
Thank you for this video, it´s very nice!
Grazie. Happy Travels
This is beautiful and you're really good at it, please keep it up. It's a wonderful experience seeing all this places in the video, I'm impressed. Thumbs up 👍👍👍👌

Awesome! Thank you!
You are amazing!! Thank you!
Thank you 💪🏽
Thank you so much! You’ve made it so simple to understand and doable. I’ve been stressing so much trying to get this last minute planning. Really appreciate it. I was wondering, based on crowds…would it be better to visit the colosseum first or Trevi Fountain?
The Trevi fountain requires no ticket admission. Therefore you can visit it at 7am with few people
