Rome itself is a walkable city end to end , as long as you stay within the city proper .But it is so complex with so many attractions from History --is will take you one hundred years to visit each and every nook and cranny .!
If you have never been to Rome, you must go there and this is the best list I have seen. Being Italian I have been there many times. I love it there❤️❤️
i've been to Rome twice previously (the first time almost 50 years ago and the second time 10 years ago), but will revisit this video before my next trip planned for 2022. Very informative.
Thank you so very much!!!! I thoroughly enjoyed this video. I'm Canadian from just outside Vancouver and have been really wanting to take my 11 year old daughter to Europe. For visiting Italy 🇮🇹 Rome is the city I have choosen, so your video has educated myself and if/when we do travel Europe I would definitely sign up for at least a couple private tours! Blessings eh, 🙏
Thank you, we are going to Rome in July; I have been watching your videos and find them very informative. We might book a Vatican and/or Colosseum tour!
My wife and I will be on your 5hr detailed Vatican/Sistine/St. Peter's tour in 3 weeks! Can't wait! We have a reservation at Taverna Trilussa for our anniversary, but your food tour is tempting! Might have to do that instead!
Can't wait to see you in Rome. Don't cancel your table at Trilussa. I love eating there. If you do the food your, do it on one of your first days so you learn what to order at restaurants
I absolutely love Rome, and have never had the luxury of going there. I have seen so much of Rome on my computer, I feel like I've been there. My husband jokes and says, you're going to see Rome one day. I told him, by the grace of God only. Thank you for your video's I love them. I would really like to see and learn more about the forum. I'm particularly interested in more knowledge of Julius Ceasar and where and how he lived. I've seen the site where he was buried, but the other video's doesn't really say much.
Love your videos, such a great content. Having been to Rome before, I always find something new to do and see in your videos. Can you let me know what are the rules for drone videography in Rome/Vatican? Thanks!
That’s fantastic! We will see you there! Make sure you are subscribed and hit the notifications bell because we are soon dropping some neighborhood videos. Perfect for someone like you so you can go back to your favorite neighborhood and explore more on your own.
Hey Shaun (Sean/Shawn)....after a cancelled trip to Rome in April 2020, of which I was planning to take one of your tours, it's finally coming true this year....am currently in the midst of planning my trip in Italy but will be looking at the Food tour as well as your Night tour of the Colosseum .....am just wondering, will you be the guide?
You never know when Sean will pop into a tour. One thing we can guarantee is that all tours are lead by passionate, professional licensed guides that make sightseeing fun.
Okay I am in my seventies and I have some physical mobilities walking and I'm wondering how you accommodate those who might have issues that are more challenging who want more than anything to see Rome especially all the ancient sites of magnificence?
Very useful tourguide to Rome. Perhaps add texts when referring to any specific name because we cannot capture that..and then lose what u r trying to deliver.
I loved the Pizza--handmade and sold by weight --not volume of ingredients --therefore go for the lightest pizza concoctions with lots of toppings for the cheapest price---Italy takes the Euro currency which is easier to understand than the old Italian Lira...!
Italy should be meeting this month to discuss guidance on how Italy will open up and if it will open up to vaccinated Americans. We believe they will do so, but time will tell. Follow us on twitter and we will 100% make an announcement there when we hear more. @thetourguy
@Tom Lowery Hi Tom, Let me explain. I am translating from the Italian " Carciofi alla Giudia". In English, it is commonly translated in this way. The name, Jewish artichoke doesn't refer to the type or variety of artichoke, but to the way in which the artichoke is prepared. The recipe is a typical Roman, Jewish recipe. When you go to the Jewish Ghetto in Rome, on the menu you will see " Carciofi alla Giudia" and the English translation is Jewish-style artichoke. If you haven't tried them, I highly recommend you do when you go to Rome. They are delicious!
Most restaurants offer a substitute dish or have GF pasta. There is a field at checkout that allows you to add dietary restrictions. We can’t gaurantee you’ll be able to eat everything on the tour, but we will have scrumptious alternatives!
I had a run in with Vatican security and Carabinieri several years ago, perhaps the situation has changed now, smoking was a problem! I was at the top of Saint Peter`s Basilica, and people were smoking, if that wasn`t bad enough they were flicking their buts down on the roof of the dome. I had a heated discusion about it with security, but he did not give a damn. When I got back down again I had another heated discusion with the Carabinieri in the square. I tried to explain to them about the discomfort to other people in such a confined space, the potential fire risk (although small) tossing live butts on the roof and finally, most importantly, the disrespect. I reminded them where they were. It was all futile, in frustration I called them a pair of barbarians and savages, their attitude changed dramatically, they did not like that. They started to berate me, I told them to f - - -k off ( I know it was not appropriate in Piazza San Pietro I was angry ) and stormed off.

So amped up about this video. One of my friends in Rome said, "This should be mandatory to watch before going to Rome."
Please take their tours. You will not be disappointed. They are the best. Took two in Florence and one in Rome.

Thank you-well done and entertaining!!
Glad you enjoyed it
Gr8 job ❤️👍
Keep It up
Thank you so much 😄
Could you make a video on the best hidden gems of Rome?
wonderful
Okay I am in my seventies and I have some physical mobilities walking and I'm wondering how you accommodate those who might have issues that are more challenging who want more than anything to see Rome especially all the ancient sites of magnificence?
Our biggest suggestion is to allow more time for yourself to move around, get from place to place and to enjoy. Plan less in each day.
6:27 - that's not the Nile-River, but the Rio de la Plata.
Are head-of-the-line passes worth it? Do they actually get you in fast? Which places have them and which don't?
Depends on the site. Our Skip the line tours definitely have expedited entrance
Very interesting
Glad you think so!
Altemps on my list now
It is such a great little museum to pop into .
traveling to rome in a few weeks & was wondering where to find the gnocchi in the vid!

Those in the video are gnocchi alla sorrentina, and they are not prepared with "sugo di carne", but with tomato sauce, basil and mozzarella.

Thanks so much. Great tips
Ngl Europe is the most beatiful continent i mean look at the cities Rome, Venice, Paris, Gdansk,Warszawa, Madrid and many more
Good argument for an incredible continent
between "L’Amatriciana" and "La Carbonara"...mmm... I'll go for L'Amatriciana too
Would you recommend to visit Rome in July ?
It’s hot and crowded but if that’s the only time you’ve got, go for it!
Any updates on when Italy will be open for tourists from outside the EU?
Italy should be meeting this month to discuss guidance on how Italy will open up and if it will open up to vaccinated Americans. We believe they will do so, but time will tell. Follow us on twitter and we will 100% make an announcement there when we hear more. @thetourguy
@@TheTourGuyVids Thanks!! Can't wait to visit and experience some of the tastes and sites you showed on your video!
Would you recommend taking euros vs. USD? Or credit card?
You'll get the best exchange rates at bank-owned cash machines. Always choose Euro if the credit card machines at check out give you the option.

The Golden House of Nero is much more interesting than many of these....
Please, say Domus Aurea !!!!!
@@aldocuneo1140 Domus Aurea!
Will I look bad if I ordered gnocchi on any other day?
Nah. You do you. But it may be hard to find on some menus on other days. Depends where you go.
No scala sancti?
Good eye. Not this time, but it’s really cool if you are Catholic.
Can you distinguish gf for those of us who can't have regular pasta. There is a market for those of us. Your tour would fill up
Most restaurants offer a substitute dish or have GF pasta. There is a field at checkout that allows you to add dietary restrictions. We can’t gaurantee you’ll be able to eat everything on the tour, but we will have scrumptious alternatives!
This is a great list (except for going to Pompeii in a day).
But holy cow, the never ending salespitch for their tours is really annoying.
We sell tours. Tours pay the bills.
Really...pancetta...in Amatriciana...in Rome...hmm...nope!
