Super smoking & chugging by the SWR's KIng Karnataka Express with twin Itarsi WDM3A'S gives a thick black smoke eruption as it gets a started heading towards Bangalore Cantonment.

When you see Alcos starting off, it's pounds to peanuts you're going to get a smoke show. Apparently they've been banned in California since the 1970s because of this kind of thing. Alcos have mostly disappeared from New South Wales (Australia) too, so stuff like this is hard to catch now. Nice work to be there and catch this one on film.

At low speed all alcos smokes,,,is normal,,,at high speeds there are practically no smoke.

nomon95 : burning cheap heavy fuel oil like used in ships, motors are crap.

I dont say that these engines use fuel oil,, the loco engines use gas Oil,,, Fuel Oil is black colour,,high viscosity,and may be preheated until to use,but only is used in big engines,because speed combustion is lower than gas Oil. Big engines start with Gas Oil and when they warms,,,turn to start with fuel oil,,,preheated to 70celsious

Even after 71years of independence, this route is not electrified. Shame to us.
Howrah Delhi was electrified 50years back.
Japan stunned the world in 1964 by introducing bullet train with high technology.
Karnataka express,please change route via secunderabad instead of Wadi send Daund.
