- The 2024 Ford Mustang is finally here! Well, almost. This is our first taste of the seventh-generation Pony car, which is known as S650 in Blue Oval parlance. Point being, it builds on the undeniable success of its S550 predecessor, which launched to unprecedented demand.
Needless to say, the S650 Mustang has a lot riding on its proverbial shoulders, but it's looking to deliver in a big with an all-new flagship, the aptly named Dark Horse, which builds upon the popular GT grade with the most powerful version of the iconic Coyote V8 engine yet.
In this expert review, CarsGuide Contributing Journalist Stephen Ottley travels to the United States to put the sinister Mustang Dark Horse through its paces and find out if it deserves to be met with the same level of anticipation as its forebear. After all, it's got more going for it than just what's under the bonnet.

Sensational from Ford! They haven't been brain washed into thinking that everyone wants an ev. If you do, no worries go and buy a Mach-e fridge on wheels. For those that love mechanical connection and aural pleasure the GT and Dark Horse have got you covered. For those that just want to go fast in a straight line or prefer to have their gears chosen for them, get the 10spd. For those that are a bit skint get the Ecoboost, almost all the visual drama sans the glorious noise. The tech looks cool for the most part and the fact that Vaughn Gittin Jnr's RTR played such a huge roll throughout development and has confirmed that the RTR upgrades will be available in AUS, along side our local tuners, all i can say is Thank You! I am praying the world economic conditions stabilise to keep prices reasonable. Then I'll need to answer whether or not a rear facing baby seat fits and we can throw down on a Dark Horse please!😆
Here we are at the end of the first quarter 2024 and still no information on the Ford Australia website about the Dark Horse, in fact the website hardly even works on my phone. This is pretty concerning. How will they go with after sales care if they can’t even deliver a product on time or create a functioning website?
What the hell is that grey plastic across the front? Did Ford run out of paint?
The GT is fully painted bumper and frankly looks way way better than this DH camaro clone
With my mustang I personally hate glossy exteriour paints on plastics. The satin finish like you notice is alot better. But DH has still some glossy plastics.. sigh...
I hope they score better on the ANCAP Safety rating than the 2 stars when they started
Working for a company that is currently converting all America vehicles atm, I’d say the dark horse will be atleast $100k
The GT will be $75k plus I’d say in comparison to the last Gen.
Rtr had a big part of this car that he doesn't talk about
Sweet Dreams Hayden Panettiere
this car has a front end smile just like mustang shelby gt350
MAN what is that plastic crap across the front?
A sweet car they took some styling cues from the outgoing Chevy Camaro. The vented hood and quarter panels look very Camaro-like.
Why is it every time I see a video reviewing an American muscle car, it’s almost always someone other than an American?
Its different from race red

slong sleeve but has shorts on lol
Some time in the gym perhaps?
GT in mid 60's you are deluded . DH will be 6 figures and GT will have an 8 in front . This presenter is a clown
