- The new 2024 Mustang Dark Horse is not meant to be the successor to the GT350 or GT500, rather think of this as the spiritual successor to the Mach 1. Sort of. With a bit more power and the same torque as the GT, some might think: why bother? If that's you, just get the GT. For those that want a Mustang with the dial turned to 11 and laser focused on track duty, you want the Dark Horse. Suspension changes, cooling upgrades, a different manual transmission, wider tires and wheels, and upgraded brakes are what the Dark Horse are all about. The extra cooling lets you stay on the track longer, the Tremec 6-speed is the polished performance manual you want, the rear differential cooler will help the Dark Horse stay on the autocross in a Phoenix summer all day long. Trofeo tires? That's all about the drag strip and big tracks. So is it a GT-Max? A GT-Pro? A GT with a tan? Yes, but also... No.

makes more sense to get the regular seats and bolt in an after market 4 points belt seat when going to the track, which would be safer and cheaper than the Recaro option

At the risk of triggering, the "not a mustang" crowd, If the bar is set @ 480 hp 418 lb ft, I believe the "most powerful" goes to the Mach e GT performance with 634 lb ft.

3:10 Its 100% based/inspired by the 1967/68 Mustang rear end! I expect the next refresh will have the tail lights flattened out like the 69/70! First time I saw that Hyundai, I thought, Mustang inspired!
Was/is there a V8 configuration that rides better over rougher roads? Maybe Magna-ride in the GT? Or does magna-ride always mean better handling, not smoother ride? I'd like to have a V8 powered car (sedan is preferable, but no I don't want a Blackwing) that can play it nice for everyday use, but stiffen up when going to a weekend autocross. That's what I thought was the purpose of magna-ride, but I guess if the coil springs are too stiff, the shocks aren't able to undo that.
Look is fine except for the blacking out of the front end which gives an F150 vibe.The rear will look better without a spoiler. 10:19 ...here, an NV200 owner tired of Jktyre.
That’s not the most powerful naturally aspirated mustang ever, the GT 350 was. It had 526hp.

$60k? I’d spend a little more and get the base Corvette instead.
Probably another $15-20k to get something decently comparable (like the Z51 performance pack C8).

Hyundai stole the Mustang mach e taillights for the 22 Tuscan and they just continued the trend for the Elantra.
it's amazing icon, but these float screens look terrible with such huge bezels 7:32 ... probably another cost cutting thing, making actual dash molded around that screen would be amazing
I think that's the absolute best place for reverse.
The screen just dont match the interior. They (it) look(s) like an afterthought. They would probably look better if the dash was built to mount them. Alfa Romeo did it right, on the Gulia, i think it was.

I have a lightly modified Supra. I don't think this thing could beat it? Have run multiple Mustangs, Challengers and left them. I'll keep the Supra. Thank you very much. The exhaust is insane though!
Turbocharged engines do respond to ECU tuning and light modifications well so hard to compare to a showroom stock vehicle. Mustang may have the edge in terms of raw grip, but the Supra I’ve heard is quite playful and nimble for its size.
@turbroo7751 Modded how? The Engine is already pushed to it's NA limit outside of a complete rebuild. You're not beating a Supra with a tune putting down 100hp more than this mustang. No tune on a Mustang is going to get close to that.

The red and black is very classy, but unless you are going to be on the Autobahn the wing is silly. In Germany it may help. Unless you have a secret road with extra good pavement, not so much in North America.
The reason it's there is for aesthetics - not functionality.
If I was rich I would get this exact spec pretty much. I would take it to a coach builder and have it made into a convertible and have extra bracing put in.
