    Nice review and comparison, I was interested in getting The Mark 5, it sure does look and fly nice plus it’s well built, but that pricetag is nuts! I recently picked up a Mark 4 HD 4S for $299! and it feels really nice and I don’t have any issues with it feeling underpowered at least with the Action 2 like you suggested for the Mark 5. It was a steal. Nazgûl v2 was another one I considered picking up.

    • @GregSupe
      @GregSupe  2 года назад +1

      That was definitely a deal you got on the Mark4. Flew the Mark5 again doing some more aggressive flying and it really feels great for 4s, I'm sure the 6s will be even better but man I had the exact feeling about the nazgul5 v2, and at the time I had gotten it for 320 😳. So it's pretty hard to justify the high price tag. None the less it's a great flight experience with the action 2, feels very locked in. If you are considering the V2 I'd say go for it, you won't be disappointed 😉

      @@GregSupe Yeah, I almost bought 2 🤣 GEPRC has some great tuning going on with their quads but so does iFlight and a couple others so it’s so hard to say what is better any more. This hobby isn’t cheap and if I can get similar flying experience and save $100+ I am all in, that leaves a good amount money for repairs or other gear!!! Thanks again!

    its worth the extra money to get the mark 5. I had a nightmare of an ordering process but I am happy with my purchase. this is the first drone I have ever bought/owned and I think it flies extremely well. I don't have anything to compare it to, but I would say its worth the extra money for the soul purpose of the bluetooth tech. one of my first big crashed my battery strap came loose and ripped the usbc off the quad. I can't explain how happy I was when I remembered the speedy bee app would let me change my rates and access everything in the future whenever I needed to.

      Ahhh yes the bluetooth connection is pretty handy. To be honest I havent even used it, but to do minor tweaks to your tune in the field over bluetooth is definitely handy. Definitely appreciate the added perspective. Which one did you get btw, 4s or 6s?

    I’ve been browsing Mark5 reviews today since I ordered one this morning and l think yours is the first that didn’t recommend it outright. Point taken about its initial price but I got mine for the price of a Nazgûl V2 XL5 from RDQ. I already own several other Geprc quads and have enjoyed them all but this one I think will be the sweetest because the price was right!

    • @GregSupe
      @GregSupe  Год назад

      Yea man these days the bind and fly market is very competitive (and getting more expensive all around). Its difficult to choose one over the other for more than aesthetics and price. For the more advanced guys they will build and tune for them selves and the rest of the general population will be pretty satisfied with the out of box tune. I personally would go with the cheapest option so if you got that mark5 for the price of a nazgul v2 thats an amazing price for an excellent quad. At the time of making the vid the price was pretty outrageous from my perspective.

I'm sorry you don't know what you're talking about. 4s and 6s Feel the same with an equivalent k v motor Unless there is other factors like the weight of the drone Or pitch and size of the props.... hope that helps

    I'm totally watching all your fpv content now that we're getting into it. Been grinding away slowly in the simulator. Combined we're at 19 hours or so with no real manual mode flights yet lol. Some how we have both the avata and dji fpv drone though and already thinking about something else in the near future 🤣🤣Do you think the dji controller is really that bad? now we have two remote controller 2's and the goggle 2's and goggle v2. Kinda wanted to stick with dji system since it is so plug and play with the 03 air unit.

    • @GregSupe
      @GregSupe  Год назад +1

      Lol!!! I see you got bit by fpv. It's definitely not bad, honestly the mode 2 control is what I'm use to and it works just fine for me. Range and penetration is two of the biggest things for fpv and how/where I fly I'm pretty comfortable with both. I'd say if you are already in the eco system then stick with that. The benefits of another remote is more options/availability also increased performance (range and penetration). DJI looks like they are phasing out the old stuff from the dji fpv drone so it may be worth going with the system that comes with the avata. Best part is since you have both you can either buy a cheaper prebuilt fpv drone with the older caddx/ air unit system bind to the older system in the dji fpv and off you go. Alternatively you can get the newer drones with the dji o3 air unit and bind to your equipment from the avata 👈🏾 this would be my option for future proofing and getting better tech, performance etc. Overall though you can't really go wrong. If you want to use a different remote you will need to purchase a different receiver and solder it on to the connections and swap the protocols in betaflight. So it's a bit more of an involved process. 😮‍💨 Phew alright, lmk if you have any other questions or you can hit me on direct on FB. Welcome to fpv money pit my friend, we have real expensive hobbies 😁👍🏾

    • @BeautyBeastRC
      @BeautyBeastRC Год назад +1

      @@GregSupe haha man you aint lying, stuff is mad expensive!! We've been using the dji air 2s for about a year now with our rc videos but it's too slow to be useful for anything other than recording jumps. That's what got us interested in the fpv drones originally. 🤣Btw, you can actually use the goggles v2 with the new 03 air unit! same performance of 810p and 120 fps that you get with the dji fpv drone. Tbh I wouldn't have bought the dji fpv drone if It didn't work. After wearing both goggles I actually like the v2 over the new ones too.
      I'm already debating between 5 inch and 6 inch, do you prefer 6 inch more? Thanks btw!

    • @GregSupe
      @GregSupe  Год назад

      @Beauty & Beast RC Yeah I saw you can still use the fat goggles as well, but the new ones have those oled screens. Depends on what you're planning to do, are you going to be flying long range as sell as freestyling? Then the 6in. If it's only freestyling then 5in. The 5in is way more nimble and less floaty, where as the 6in has more thrust and can withstand weight better ie. A full size gopro. You won't really feel the difference unless you fly them back to back. But there's a reason why most pilots use 5in for their freestyle tricks n such over 6in. 👌🏾

      so basically you need to put the long shim piece, and then bearing. you will need to use the smaller shim pieces to line up the gear to where you want then put the other bearing on the other side. Of course on either end is the drive cups. You will need to do some trial and error to get it fitting correctly.

      Thanks man, so 25 vs 50mbps will improve boost your video feed. Only downsides is you cannot do audience mode and it decreases the ampjnt of chamnels available from 8 to only 3. Which isnt a problem if you fly alone. Switch over to it and you should immediately see a huge difference in video quality.
