    Just a little FYI from a licensed nail tech, you're not damaging your nail surface if you buff with a soft grit buffer. This is actually needed to make sure nail surface plate is smooth as well as to take out the shine from natural nail to have more grip.
    Great video overall with tips and tricks!

    I'm so happy I found this video. I can't thank you enough. I had metastatic bone cancer and the chemo took a huge toll on me. I stop getting my nails done at salons just to stop any additional damage to my body. I'm in remission and decided to go back to press on nails. I recently saw and purchased a pretty set of Im Press nails but I don't like the glue tab so I haven't used it because I was thinking I would peel it off and treat it like a regular press on and file my natural nails and glue it.
    And your video you used both! And I thought that was clever. Then when you said about the nail damage, it was just perfect. And also about the trimming the sides of the nails, never thought of that. I would use it once and throw them away but that's such a great idea. It's the tiniest of things I'm so grateful for now. It made me immensely happy. I can't wait to do my nails and still keep my healthy natural nails. 😃

    I’m OBSESSED with these!! I love how thin they are and the short ones honestly just feel like my nails. I forget I’m wearing them & it’s been two weeks! I agree good prep = longer wear. It’s not a quick process for me, but I enjoy the self care time. The fact that they can be trimmed & lightly filed is probably my favorite thing about them. They can really be personalized to fit length & shape which is the best!
    After removing, I pulled the glue off the nail and saved bc they can def be used again with nail glue. The thinness & breathability is top notch. It hasn’t effected my way of doing things or dented the nails to open cat food cans, fight with a car seat buckle, wash my hair, etc. I also hold at a 45 degree angle & just slightly press toward my nail bed/cuticle to get the most natural look as well as ensuring its tightly down at the base. If not, hair can get grabbed under it which is frustrating, but an easy fix & nothing bad about the nails, just a learning curve. I also love using the gloss strips on my toes! I can do two toes from one strip if I cut it in half before peeling off. I also use cuticle scissors to trim off excess, then file under my nail to prevent creasing of the strip. LOVE this brand!! Thanks so much for all the tips!! I like to think using your tips are the reason mine last 2 weeks and longer.

      Katie Marie dashing diva is my ride or die #1 fave! The nails are a tinge small but I size down when between sized so it’s cool, & I can get 10-12 days off a set w glue. When I replace the rogue nails who start to work loosened I don’t use glue bcoz I don’t need them to wear as long & I did my index finger/thumb w no additional glue just used their glue pre sticky adhesive & have stayed on good I just prefer to glue mine for the long haul. Pink nail glue works best i was doing original super glue but I prefer pink nail glue got to be pink kind regular nail glue sux but the pink is the best. Forget regular nail glue lol 😂

    The longer natural nails help the press-on nails last longer primarily because there is more surface area to which the nail can adhere. I saw someone begin with her thumbs in a video. It's good you mentioned it's better to leave them for last. They won't set properly if you're using them to press the other nails on. She also added cuticle oil and hand cream right after she finished getting the nails on before they had a chance to set at all. This will allow the oil and cream to compromise the adhesive. It's no surprise the nails started popping off after a day and a half. She didn't have the benefit of your experience. Your viewers should fare better! I'm curious to try the Dashing Diva nails. If you work with them, please suggest a variety of shapes and lengths. With press-on nails, I can rarely find anything except short and square. I buy the Kiss nails for variety, but the Impress for those times I'm going out and need my nails done in a hurry. Thanks for the video!

      Hi I agree with you on this one. I prefer using the plain longer press on nails. I find that if u buy the pre painted there's only 12 in a box. Im from SA and I bought plain square press down nails R70 for 200. So I have a nail stand and will start painting 15 at a time. Like 15 red then 15 camo colour so by doing that and 1 pops off you don't need to sit and paint its all done. I prep my naels then I buff my own nael and the inside of the false nail with my efile they sick better to a rough service then I apply glu only to the inside of the false nail so that my own nail still has a bit of roughness from the buffing and then stick

    Very nice, professional length & glam! Nice job! More than 10 days might not be the best idea because of risk of fungus. A tip I have found that keeps them looking sharp is a layer of clear nail polish to protect the finish/ designs longer.

    • @jillyfae4895
      @jillyfae4895 5 лет назад +14

      I wash my hair 2-3 times a week (use a cleansing conditioner) and rely on dry shampoo for the other days. I can wear ImPress for 2 weeks without any lifting or them coming loose.

    • @KatieMarie
      @KatieMarie  5 лет назад +4

      For me I don’t notice my nails catching in my hair until after a week of wear. Then I’ll feel them catch a bit when washing my hair, but usually not anything too annoying until nearer the 2 week mark 👍🏼

    Questions- My nails were damaged by acrylics and they are literally worn to the quick. They are brittle, soft and peeling. Will the nails still stick? Also, I play guitar so I like the nails on my left hand to be very short. Any overhang interferes with my pressing down firmly on the frets. If these are too long can I shorten them?

    Super cute! How long do you have to wait before you can get them wet?
    Also, when you leave them longer, how do you get them clean? I always have stuff get caught in the space between the longer nail and the press on, so I usually trim mine before applying press ons. Still, it would be better if I could grow them out under the press ons!

      I try to avoid water as much as possible when wearing press on nails (like I wear gloves when I wash dishes every night). However, I still wash my hands after changing diapers or other bathroom things (with 3 kids, jts frequent!) and also shower a few times a week. And occasionally I’ll have one or two nails pop up sooner than a week and in those cases I’ll glue them back down. But for the most part I still get a solid week or week and a half wear out of a set even with exposure to water during the week

    Girl I swear I just added this to my blog post list! Such a great idea and so helpful! The Kiss ImPress are the first ones I tried and I love them so much I haven't tried any other brands - I need to venture out a bit I suppose 😂

      I love Impress. Fast and CHEAP. I went to get my nails done for probably over 20 yrs. man I got where I hated going so time consuming and now I seen Impress in RUclips. What a wonderful answer. And I baby these nails. I wear gloves to do dishes etc

    I have colored my own hair, given myself mani/pedis done EVERYTHING MYSELF EXCEPT cut my own hair. I only go about every 8 or 9 months for that as well! It saves my family so much 💰 money! What I am trying to say is, I have used the KISS brand press on nails for probably 19 - 20 years or so? I LOVE THEM! Yes, they have upgraded their product a couple of times (I usually cannot handle when companies do this, but this was definitely for the good!). I sometimes use the glue it comes with, but more often than not, I buy a bigger KISS brand glue separately with a nail polish brush (if that makes sense) because it’s bigger and easier to handle. I can always get my press on nails to last eight or nine days every single time!

      It’s a brush on one that is from Kiss - I think they only sell one that is brush on. My description box might have a link for you!

    Ive been obsessed with press on nails for the past year and a half😍😍 But i go for the hand made ones from brands like Perfectly_Nailed, The Nailest ect. They make incredible nails and it looks like ive gotten acrylics done at the salon. But ive actually gotten 2-4 sets of nails for the price of one salon set where i live😍💅✨

    The longest I wore Impress was 11 days. I generally get 5-7 out of Impress. Dashing Diva has a strong adhesive. Got 7 days and could have gotten more. I just wanted a change.

      That’s awesome! I know, I’m usually ready for a change about a week after doing my nails, too!
