I used to apply them last thing before bed. I didn't wash my hands either prior to application either, I did them on clean dry nails. I also placed them truly at the cuticle to avoid the ledge. I pressed on each nail for a full minute per nail and pressed hard! One extra tip I'm sharing: If you're applying a French style, apply at a 45 degree angle, press at the cuticle first, then down to the tip, this allows the sticky tab to press down with no air bubbles.
I have been using these for two years. My nails had become so thin and damaged from salon manicures etc. I can wear these for at least two weeks and sometimes longer. I just reapply if one comes off. I no longer have damaged nails. I press each nail for at least 30 seconds when I apply. Great tutorial!
Two weeks is excellent. I work at an office. I worry that all the typing hand washing and showering would make mine not last as long. Two weeks is a good deal!
I’m getting ready to apply my first set of press on nails and this is not only the 12th tutorial I’ve watched on RUclips but it’s honestly the best. Thank you SipAndDip
To keep from allowing a "hair tangling" lip at the cuticle, I always lift my cuticles as part of the prep and then gently place the nail underneath the cuticle. They look completely natural and stay on for two to three weeks. I know it's time to replace them when they start grabbing my hair. Loved your video!!!
I LOVE the Impress nails! I've had some sets last over 3 weeks, since I also use the Kiss glue on ones I just re-glue any that might fall off before I'm ready to remove them. My only problem is that I have a strong C curve and my nails are narrow, so a lot of the pretty accent nails don't fit. Also they're totally reusable! I just peel the old glue tab off and use nail glue if I want to reuse a set
Tip: You can use a piece of floss to remove them as well, or a flosser if you don't have loose floss.. wait until the nail is loose and slide it underneath and poof nails gone.
Thank you very much. It was so hard to find this kind on here that I thought I was tripping that you're supposed to pull tabs not use glue. Yes I appreciate this. ❤
THANK U FOR THIS SUPER INFORMATIVE VID, and for telling us when u experienced the hair catching!!! That is one of the biggest aggravations, but rarely mentioned in nail diy tutorials! Regarding the sticky base coat, prior to ever seeing this, I asked a Nail Pro, in a salon store...specifically about Kiss brand press ons and Dashing Diva polish stickers...her response was that she ALWAYS recommends a good base coat application under DIY nails 💅she said it helps preserve the natural nails and told me that as a Pro who does her own nails & her daughter's nails, she always uses a good base product like Orly or OPI....so you're 100% on target with it🎉! Again, Thank you!😊
Mine lasted a month this last time! I probably should have taken them off at 3 weeks though due to the grow out. I always do them just before bed so they adhere better by not using them for 10-12 hours. I just use the kit. Thanks for the suggestion of doing the thumbs last.😊
I haven’t worn press ons since omg! Maybe 1989? Were they out then? Kiss had to be! Lol you know we were glueing those suckers on! Then of course lots of clean up after. 😮 Then I went and found me a nail tech and I wore sculpted acrylic for at least 10 years. Then the salons seem to start changing (by then I was in Missouri) tips and then acrylic over that…lots of dealing with lifting….ugh 🤯😱 then things seemed to just start changing again, I learned which salons to go to and which ones not too. Prices went up….idk, now I’m venting. Lol I do my own now. Dip nails, gel, I’ve learned acrylic application, gelx, it’s fun. I’m home bound too so it fills time sometimes. 😊 Great video, thanks! 💙💜🩷💜💙
After my initial fails at dip nails (no efile at the time, and over zealous with the file, couldn't do decent fills and got greenies), I put away all the supplies and turned to these. Rocked them for over a year before turning to gel, soft gel nails and an efile. Agreed about the wider thumb sizing too! Every so often I'd get a bad batch where they would pop off after a day or two but most sets lasted me well into 10 days. Love my gel nails, but sometimes I do miss the ImPress especially with the cute holiday designs.
I looove the cute holiday designs too! Press ons have come such a long way! They’re doing something right with these tabs too. I used to only get like 1-2 days with tabs so I started using glue. I think I may try glue next time though!
this is the best press on nail tutorial i have ever watched and i watched hundreds during the pandemic!!! thank you. im going to get that cuticle pusher today from sallys
- These look great, I love the color. - I'm making my own and adhering them with a waterproof glue tab and a little glue around the edges of the tab. The longest I've had them on it 9 days and I had to remove them, there was no popping off or even lifting. I'm actually in the middle of a 2 week test. 🙂 - With the tips I'm using right now, I don't have that ledge. And since I use a smaller glue tab than would cover my entire nail, I don't have any of the tab coming out. - You're right about the 70% alcohol, I've read that it's not quite enough. I make my own that is a formula I got from The Nail Hub. It's ¾ 99% alcohol and ¼ 100% acetone, it works very well. - Thanks for the video, I enjoyed it. They are beautiful.
Thank you so much for sharing!! 🫶🏻 I love this idea of adding a little glue around the edges. BRILLIANT!! I really want to try a glue set next. Do you have a particular enhancement brand you like? I want to try to make my own press on set maybe!
@@SipAndDip You mean tips? Right? I've tried several - my reply would be lengthy. Do you want a DM or should I put it here in case others want to read it?
Well, I've tried a few. I definitely have feedback for you! Makartt - I liked them ok, I know that a lot of press-on makers use them. They are thin at the cuticle and sturdy at the tips. I can see wavies in the plastic, they aren't as clear as some, but once you get a bunch of stuff on them, you aren't going to notice it. BTArtbox - I also liked these. Again, they are thin at the cuticle and sturdy at the tips. Modelones - I really liked these. Thin at the back, sturdy at the tips, and they have a slight downward curve which I really like. Easkep - Thin in back, very sturdy at the tip. They are crystal clear. *So, more recently I started looking in earnest at tips because I decided to use press-ons from now on, and I decided to make and sell them. I really want a maker that offers 12 sizes and single sizes. I hate the idea of throwing out tips I don't need. I had decided on Painted Desert because they are supposed to be good, they are preferred by some that make press-ons but I didn't have the budget to buy a lot of these. They are 24.99 per box and I want to offer several shapes and lengths. So they went on the back burner for a while. I decided to pick up a bunch of inexpensive ones on Amazon to test, and so I could get started. Gelish - These were not on Amazon, I picked up a small box at Sally's. I really liked these. They are very clear, I liked the shape, they are classy looking. But most of that you won't see. 🙂 They are thin at the back and sturdy at the tip. They are also expensive and more difficult to get because I'm not a nail tech. One thing I like is that you can get individual sizes. I'll include links for the next ones I got, check out these prices! Aoraem - www.amazon.com/dp/B09ZFD8QHM?psc=1... I actually love these. I like the shape, especially in the back by the cuticle. Some of the tips I've used sit higher and I can feel them more as they start growing out. I'm wearing these now, this is day 12 (?) and I am not feeling a ledge. They are matte on both sides, so no buffing. Melous Soft Gel Tiips - www.amazon.com/dp/B0BFC51HTJ?psc=1... I haven't tried these yet, but they are a nice-looking tip. Really thin at the cuticle and crystal clear. They aren't as sturdy at the tip, but I don't know if that is a thing for gel tips. And by the time I get everything on them, I think they will be fine. They do have a slight smell. Some of the styles they offer come in 12 sizes. BQTQ - www.amazon.com/dp/B09V7LT27R?psc=1... Not as crystal clear, but thin and flexible. I look forward to trying these. And... drum roll... I finally bought a box of Painted Desert to test. The ones I wanted were on sale, so I busted out a CC and ordered them. I was not nearly as impressed as I thought I would be. They are thin at the cuticle, and flexible. Not really thick and hard at the tip, but again, I don't think that is an issue. They aren't very clear, they have the wavies that the Makartt tips do. Again, not an issue, they just aren't as pretty. The numbers on the tips are not very well defined, they are almost impossible to read. To be honest, they are virtually identical (including the smell) to the ones I just paid 11.00 for 1800. The reason I'm excited about this is that now I don't have to obsess over saving up the funds to buy several styles of this fairly expensive tip.
For many years, I wore Kiss glueon nails. I loved them. If you prep your nails as if doing dip, minus the primer, make sure you use sufficient glue as if doing gell X, they last even longer. When they start to grow out, going around the cuticle with a file to bring down the ledge also helps. I've never tried the ones with the sticky tabs as I want mine to stay on as long as possible without concern of them popping off. With glueons, I tried not to wash my hands an hour before and at least that long after.
I love my glue-on nails but unfortunately, I have started to develop an allergy to the glue 😢. I'm going to try this type (press on) and see if they work for me
Many thanks! New to the press on game 😂, didn't know they were numbered either, glad I stopped by your channel, great content! 63 and still learning 😂❤💃🏼💅
I got 2+ weeks on my last set, and I just did the bare minimum for prep…the little wipe, pushing the cuticles back. No base coat, no extra nail dehydrator. I bought a 500 pk of adhesive tabs off Amazon cause I loved the sets I’ve bought and I don’t want to use glue.
After a long time of not doing my nails I gave press ons a go by using the Kiss brand which didn't come with tabs or glue. I had nail glue that was still good but purchased the L.A. Colors stick on tabs..I prepped and placed them on with the tabs (tabs were very sticky) but they only lasted 2 days if that lol. So I had a wild idea to use the tabs and glue and it worked perfect as the nails were more adhered and they lasted over 2 weeks..my trick was I prepped as usual then buffed the nails with a file to roughen them for more staying power. Then I applied a very thin amount of nail glue in a."W" pattern on the nail first,.then the sticky tab and then very small dots of glue on top of the sticky tabs. I then pressed the nails on firmly and like magic they really stuck. No wiggling, shifting or lifting. I then embellished the nails with my own nail polish 'glittery' and came up with a sweet set of baby blue sparkle wintery set. (Nails were already baby blue with some ombre/glittering decor) the added glitter and top coat really looked nice and added strength to all the nails. They were not hard to remove just soaked a little longer. I say try glue and tabs for surprising longer wear! Yay!
I bought that glass cuticle pusher the second I saw it even though I already own a Tweezerman metal one. Why? Because I do own a glass nail file that’s the bomb. My nails are too thin & delicate to use an emory board. If the glass cuticle pusher is half as good as my glass nail file I’ll be happy. So thankful I watched your video. ♥
Do all the press on nails have the same size thumb nails. The ones I bought wasn’t big enough. It was a small box with a beautiful colour. The glue on kiss fit perfectly.
When you refer to base coat , is that a specific base coat bc I usually think of base coat as just regular clear fingernail polish used for a base and as a top to shine
Another tip is you can gently heat up the underside tab for a few seconds with a blow dryer. This loosens up the glue and gives you some flexibility when applying
I just started using these after developing a gel allergy (also get dip flu! 😢). I LOVE these so much. I just ordered a set of “bare but better” and I’ll probably paint over after wearing a few days. Currently on day 9 with a French tip set. 😁
Oh nooo! I’m so sorry to hear that 🥺 I recently started getting symptoms of dip flu so I understand. I’m thinking of wearing a mask to see if it helps. 9 days of wear is awesome!! 🫶🏻
Gel allergy and "dip flu" is completely false. You are experiencing a reaction to the salon using a chemical called Methyl Methacrylate (MMA). Look it up. Salons importing cheap Asian ingredients can still have access to this. I've reacted to this since around 2005 or so. I recently discovered if a good salon is using CND acrylics... WITH THE CND liquid!!! No fake liquid! I will not react, and I can have the pink and whites again.
Hey girl, Out of concern, not sure if it is just the lighting, but your nail bed looks purple which sometimes is a sign for cyanosis. I hope it is not, but in case, I wanted to make you aware.
Thank you for being so sweet 🫶🏻 the lighting definitely makes it look much darker than in person but I have recently discovered about Raynaud’s syndrome since being stationed in MD. Especially this winter! I’ve only really lived in hot areas and never experienced it before. Thank you for checking in on me! I appreciate you 💕
I love these. I used them any time I needed to look nice (I'm a farm girl, long nails aren't usually for me) during the winter I could keep them on for a week or two doing this. The adhesives tabs don't hold up to my new cleaning routine, which is why I started dip nails. P.S. thank you for recommending that glass cuticle pusher. I LOVE mine!!
@SipAndDip just enough to be self-sufficient, about 30 including Chickens for eggs. We do a lot of trading at the co-op for beef and pork. I was born and raised a city girl so it's been an amazing adventure!
I love the longevity of the press ons, but like you the hair strands getting stuck underneath drive me crazy! I wish they would try to solve this problem. :(
Even though the sticky tabs might not last as long, I still like them better because there’s no damage to my nails unlike when I use the glue. Even if I take them off properly my nails are dryer and they don’t look as good.
How do you get them to stay on? 😢 I use the same brand & same length (the shortest ones) but the glue for mine usually start getting soft after showers / hair catches in between the nail & start popping off. I usually put them on at night before bed generally to avoid water from getting on / near the sticky tab for the longest time. Any other tips?
Any tips for how to remove the adhesive from the portion of the nail tip that extends beyond your natural nail? It is gunky and dirt sticks to it - yucky. How do I remove the adhesive without damaging the nail?
I have tried press on nails twice in past they never last a full day. I stopped using them back in 2021. I saw on Tik Tok that they have been improved. So I wanted to try them again. I got the impress press on nails in the color set sunny daze. They came with solid yellow nails, gold glitter nails and some that have different styles of pineapples on the nails. I got the set for a little less than $8 at Walmart. I also heard that if you wanted to make them last longer you could add nail glue with it. So I bought some kiss powerflex max speed nail glue also from walmart for $1.98. I am hoping they last more than a day because the nail set is super cute. One of my friends told me to add nail glue with it and they will last two weeks. Someone people said they can get them to last 3 weeks or more. So I hope they will for me.
Hi there SipAndDip...was perusing RUclips for different nail videos. Yours (this particular video) popped up. I couldn't help but notice the color of your BARE nails on that video.Part of your nail before has a blue hue. You must have been aware. I don't believe it's from previous "bluish or similar nail colors)" or the color would be sporadic through your nail bed. The bluish hue on your nails are pretty consistent. Am I the only one who's noticed? I don't think so. This might be a medical concern (not necessarily very urgent, but warrants a look-see). Unless you've handled this or it's gone by now, then that's good. However, if it should return, please do not ignore because you're a younger individual. I have medical people in my closet family. Also, I've had a similar situation happen. This can also happen with ones toe nails (no polish), btw. It is MAINLY caused by vein issues, oxygen related issues, heart and other matters. If anyone reading this has or had something like this don't ignore. Better to check it out. ❤️
Not much of a control experiment to use a product on L hand only...L hands (if non-dominant) get way less use and therefore nails always last longer anyway. I'll use a lot of your tips, thanks and great video!
I have used false nails when on holiday, yes the odd one does pop of, carry my glue every with me, only problem feel they have broken my nails, why is this
Press ons have come a long way! I’ve been wondering if it’s worth trying to save them for re-use. Were these bin good condition after removal? Thanks for another great video! 💕💕🫠🫠🌸🌸
They were all perfect after removal! The tabs were all in tact but I doubt they’d restick with the original tabs. You could totally pull off the original tabs and use other tabs or glue though!!
Kiss Impress nails are tiny. I don’t know how grown up women have such small nails. I bought a whole bunch because I loved the colors but had to take them all back.
I thought they were terrible. The choice of sizes are very bad. Not length but the size for different nail shapes. They do not last even when you use prep pad
Impress nails don’t fit me at all. Kiss is the only brand that fits as far as press on. I use Kiara sky and gelish systems for the cured gel applications.
I don’t know what kind of voodoo you do, but even after all these steps they fall off starting in one hour. Woke up with 2 in my hair. They will never stay a full week. Never. Still does as much damage as getting acrylics. All too expensive after buying dehydrator, etc. Never worth it for me. Never.
You may not have noticed but shes wearing the same sweater throughout most of this so it was probably filmed all in one day. And not really over a week
@@cheer4me1000I believe that She just likes the sweater and its color (neutral)because the focus must be on the Nails and not on bright clothing for example..js !!

I’ve made my own press on nails and love them
I really love this idea!! Which brand of full extensions do you like? 🫶🏻
@@SipAndDip mostly igel because I can get them on sale!
Do all the press on nails have the same size thumb nails. The ones I bought wasn’t big enough. It was a small box with a beautiful colour. The glue on kiss fit perfectly.
I had the same problem...the thumb nails are too small. And I only had one of each. But I had 5 or 6 of some of the smaller nails.
Press ons are beautiful. I wondered if they last or just pop off. Thank you for sharing this information with us. You did pick great colors.
Thanks Kathy! I was definitely the biggest skeptic and assumed I’d get maybe 2 days out of them 🙈
When you refer to base coat , is that a specific base coat bc I usually think of base coat as just regular clear fingernail polish used for a base and as a top to shine
Another tip is you can gently heat up the underside tab for a few seconds with a blow dryer. This loosens up the glue and gives you some flexibility when applying
Thank u for your show. What happens if you don’t have this code or hydrate the clear coating on your real nails
Can you reuse nails if you apply them with glue?
How long before you can wash the hands after you’ve finished? ❤the video
Can you use nail glue on the sticky substance that’s already on the nail?
what is the shade of the nails you got? they look so cute! thanks
I believe it’s the shade “purple and silver” 🫶🏻 here’s the link! amzn.to/3UV0ZS2
Can you reuse these nails or are they a one time use? Thank for a very informative video, I plan on trying them for the first time this week!
You can reuse them! I would remove the sticky tab and then you can use a fresh set of sticky tabs or nail glue 💕
Thanks for another tips chels they look pretty on you , how mamy time in a week do u remove cuticles thankyou😍
Just whenever I’m going to do a new set 🫶🏻 so it depends on how often I’m working. I’d say I do a new manicure every 5-7 days but sometimes more
Hey girl,
Out of concern, not sure if it is just the lighting, but your nail bed looks purple which sometimes is a sign for cyanosis.
I appreciate you 💕
@@SipAndDip I’m glad it is nothing serious and that you understood I was coming from a place of concern 💕
I tried this brand it lasted me a week, however I just felt like the plastic was a bit too thin and flexible for my taste but they did look great!
Polish them with at least 2 coats of a quality top coat . That will help.
This is a whole new world for me! I've been stuck in 1970 with my nail care.
Ahhh you’re awesome!! Do you have a lot of animals on your farm? 🫶🏻
@SipAndDip just enough to be self-sufficient, about 30 including Chickens for eggs. We do a lot of trading at the co-op for beef and pork. I was born and raised a city girl so it's been an amazing adventure!
@@HellenaHanbasquet that is so incredible!! Major props!! 🫶🏻
Thanks for this great tip video!
I can’t get sticky tabs to last past my first hand wash 😅
Honestly that was what I figured would happen!! That’s how it was for me growing up. But these kiss ones definitely proved me wrong 😆
Everyone uses super glue..the blue bottle with the sizes that squeeze out the glue
Add nail glue to the sticky pads I do and they stay on.
Can you pls list the name of your sticky base coat and where?
Yes, absolutely! It’s the sticky base coat from Maniology. Code SIPANDDIP saves 10% *affiliate here’s the link! 🫶🏻 bit.ly/464znjt
I love the longevity of the press ons, but like you the hair strands getting stuck underneath drive me crazy! I wish they would try to solve this problem. :(
Can I reuse it again?
Excellent tutorial!
Thank you so much! 🫶🏻
Love this for a quick mani 😍
Yesss!! So much same! 🫶🏻
I wear them fo 2 weeks everytime. I have to pull them off because I get tired of the color. You can do 2 weeks too. Maybe I need to do a video lol
Even though the sticky tabs might not last as long, I still like them better because there’s no damage to my nails unlike when I use the glue. Even if I take them off properly my nails are dryer and they don’t look as good.
This was a really good video
Thank you so much! 💕
Super glue from the dollar store and it’s not hard to come off
I have never had press on nails, but I will try
Can i reuse press ons?
Sure just remove the sticky pad with a plastic dental pick.
Any tips for how to remove the adhesive from the portion of the nail tip that extends beyond your natural nail? It is gunky and dirt sticks to it - yucky. How do I remove the adhesive without damaging the nail?
Try applying clear nail polish
Hi there 🫶🏻 thank you so much for the concern. I am aware of it and I appreciate you looking out 💕💕💕 in my case it’s Raynauds.
I noticed as well and was going to mention it..
I have a nail dehydrator and it smells like acetone 🤷♀️
WOW! BEST tutorial EVER!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
My sticky tabs are always too long and catch fuzz! Help???
Oh no! That can be so frustrating! Are the tabs pushing out on the sidewalls or anywhere you could file back to help? 🤞🏼
These don't fit me😢. My thumb is too wide and the rest have deep sidewalls. They look really cute on you though
Ohhhh no! Really?! That’s a bummer! I wish the accent nails had more sizes too 🫶🏻
Exactly. They are tiny. For the life of me I don’t know how these can fit on any grown woman. I had to take them all back.
@@donamills863 Jeeze, I thought I was the only one. I don't even have big hands. Just a big natural curve on my nails
Not much of a control experiment to use a product on L hand only...L hands (if non-dominant) get way less use and therefore nails always last longer anyway. I'll use a lot of your tips, thanks and great video!
Great video! They are very pretty! But, I feel like the glue ons look more natural to me than these!
I definitely agree with you on that! 🙌🏼 I’m new to press on life and I prefer the glue as well. Less lifting and pulling hair too 😵💫🤣
I only need one night actually so 7 days is good. ❤
I have used false nails when on holiday, yes the odd one does pop of, carry my glue every with me, only problem feel they have broken my nails, why is this
Super smart to keep a glue on hand! 💓 do you mean your natural nails break when the press on pops off?
yes, they are such a state, now leaving them to grow naturaly @@SipAndDip
another tip: apply at a 45 degree angle instead of applying it flat
My presson nails last 3 weeks
That’s amazing! 🙌🏼💓
U have nice long nail but they looked dark. Why?
Press ons have come a long way! I’ve been wondering if it’s worth trying to save them for re-use. Were these bin good condition after removal? Thanks for another great video! 💕💕🫠🫠🌸🌸
They were all perfect after removal! The tabs were all in tact but I doubt they’d restick with the original tabs. You could totally pull off the original tabs and use other tabs or glue though!!
Was glue on nails
Kiss Impress nails are tiny. I don’t know how grown up women have such small nails. I bought a whole bunch because I loved the colors but had to take them all back.
This seems better than glue😅
You can try nail glue, more solid and durable
I definitely plan to! 🫶🏻
@@SipAndDip Nail art glue is really fast, the kind that doesn’t use UV lamps, expect....
I thought they were terrible. The choice of sizes are very bad. Not length but the size for different nail shapes. They do not last even when you use prep pad
I add nail glue to the stick on pad, just a few small drops.
Impress nails don’t fit me at all. Kiss is the only brand that fits as far as press on. I use Kiara sky and gelish systems for the cured gel applications.
Why are you wearing the same sweater in day 3 and 7?
Is it just lighting, your nails have a purple color! That could be poor circulation
Ok impress is better because they peel instead of pop off kiss pops off
If I had nails as nice as yours I wouldn’t need fake ones
Ahhh never say teeny bopper 😅
I don’t know what kind of voodoo you do, but even after all these steps they fall off starting in one hour. Woke up with 2 in my hair. They will never stay a full week. Never. Still does as much damage as getting acrylics. All too expensive after buying dehydrator, etc. Never worth it for me. Never.
I’m so sorry to hear you’re having trouble with it! I’d be happy to help troubleshoot with you if you decide to give it another whirl 🫶🏻
You may not have noticed but shes wearing the same sweater throughout most of this so it was probably filmed all in one day. And not really over a week
@@cheer4me1000I believe that She just likes the sweater and its color (neutral)because the focus must be on the Nails and not on bright clothing for example..js !!
Add small drops of nail glue to the sticky pads. I have and they stay on
Plus are still easy to remove after soaking .
I feel like I wash my hands so much and i love a lomg hot shower at night
can you take a shower with those on
