Coming back a year later to say that I have been doing this with full coverage nail tips for a year after seeing this video and it is amazing! I have 1 inch nails, am a single mom of 7 and am hard on my nails. These last for 3 or 4 weeks. My current set is on week 2 and I have put together a bed, taken apart 2 beds, and ripped the side panel off of my van to fix a stuck seat belt. These nails aren’t budging! So much healthier and safer than glue and so cheap. It takes me an hour to do my nails. Here are my steps 1. Good nail prep is a must. 2. Buff inside of tip(this is what makes them last for me. They only last a week without this step.) 3. Base coat cured on natural nail. 4. Adhere tip to nail with base coat and cure. 5. Clip, shape and Buff nail tip gently 5. Base coat 6. Polish 7. Top coat 8. Cuticle oil This works y’all!
@@liyahb5567 I’ve never had an issue with it curing. I’ve used clear nails and tan nails. I usually cure for 2 minutes but they are secure after 20 seconds or less
1. Remove cuticles (I personally like to push them back instead; it’s not as harmful to the nail and works just as well) 2. File the nail beds of your real nails 3. Apply base coat to your nail beds 4. Buff the back of the fake nail until you see the shine of it dulling out 5. Apply the base coat on back of the fake nail (remember to tip the edge!) 6. Press down and put it in the UV lamp

My mother has been dealing with a nail that has turned black/infected & with a swollen cuticle….for over a year now. The nail tech used his one long fingernail to push her cuticle back & she told him it hurt….next thing you know it’s all infected! Soaking it/repeated antibiotics have not worked. Wow i didnt know you could use this with press on nails (nails that are already designed) i didnt know the gel could cure. Awesome! Cant wait to try it.
I think these nails must be ever so slightly transparent so that the light can go through, most designed press on nails this wont work for unless the nail bed area isn’t fully opaque
I love press on because I can slay my nails and not break the bank but still look like I went to the nail shop...I love your channel thank you for all the hacks have learned so much.
If the press-ons are pre-painted with a colour, will the led light still go right through the press-ons and cure properly? I bought press-one that are pre-painted and decorated. I would have thought the light couldn’t get through them? 🤷🏻♀
if y’all are wondering if this really works: i’ve been using this method for almost a year, and it works amazingly! and you don’t even need that much base coat on your nails!
So peel off base coat meant that you just peel the nails off when you're through right but .. 1) If using reg base coat, does it work the same and are they just as good staying put? 2) How do I take them off without damaging the fake nails with reg base coat since I can't use oil or soapy warm water to remove them?
She said "without damaging the nails" ... I was wondering the same thing, because I'd like to reuse them if possible, and I want to avoid damaging my real nails as well!!
Such a good hack! I'm glad I found you!!!❤️ I love nails, I've been doing my own for years but I'm not professional at all 😂 I've done acrylic, dip powder, polygel but this honestly seems like the easiest way! 💅🏼 Brb going to get press ons and try this out 😁
I just bought a few boxes of these nails and I was wanting to try them this way with my hard builder gel and was only thinking that it wouldn't cure through the opaque nails but your video showed me it will work! Thanks love!
Alright sis, I’m gonna try this method out! I love press ons but they never last more than a day with me. I even use super glue, and they still pop off 😭
In addition to the method described in the video, which I'm going to try, you can also fill the underside of the press-on with acrylic, which dries without the need for an LED light. You can find videos of that method on RUclips.
@@ellenlevenson7831 good point, I remember going to the jail shop and this lady had ridiculously long nails and asked the guy to put glue on the underside of her nail

I love this method, I also learned the lazy girl method from Femi Beauty. The color of the set you put on is gorgeous. I like press ons because they're convenient. Being a mother of 4, I don't always have time to get my nails done.
I just put my nails on this way immediately after watching this video... I'm amazed 👏🏾. Now to see how long they will last, my press ons are very long, so we will see. Glue was just working my nerves so I really hope this method gives better longevity. EDIT!: THIS DOES NOT WORK WITH COLORED NAILS. I just tried this with prepolished short nails about 10 minutes ago and they are already popping off. Works fine with clear nails, because they are clear, duh. But prepolished is a no.
@@simplydee25 Update. The longer nails lasted a week. But I removed them so effortlessly, filed, sanitized and reapplied them after cutting them to a fairly regular length (not short, but not super long) and the first one popped off today (2 weeks later) because I was doing something aggressive with them. So I would say it works, just be mindful if nail length.

I’m hoping a lot of people get into this habit. It’s much more economical and if you do go to a nail tech just for prep, they would charge a lot less.
I love 💕 press on nails because it makes me happy to do something for myself, and it makes me feel pretty!
I've never worn press on nails but these make me want to try them! 😍
This was a game changer for me! I've been doing polygel nails for the past year or so and they are sooo time consuming. Not to mention they only last about a week.
After seeing this video and trying it out, I'm never going back lol.
I've had mine on for two weeks now and none have broken or fallen off. Thank you for sharing this tip!!
I’m going to try the no glue method. This looks real easy but with all your videos you make it look so easy and simple. thanks for being so detailed. Love ya.
I'm binge watching your older press on nail videos today. Lol, love these, they're gorgeous! Blessings from Scotland. 🙏🏴🌺
yes! tried and loved...also luv the "lazy girl" method, doing press ons/full cover tips...applying with builder gel as the adhesive...tysm booskie!!! XXXX
Umm where do you get the builder gel? What brand do you use? Thanks
Life. Changing. Yesterday I decided to give up on press ons after trying three different times. But found your video, tried it out and so far it’s fool proof! Thank you for sharing!
YOU CHANGED THE GAME! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR GIVING US THIS GEM
I love press on nails, with my busy life, I don’t have the time to go to a salon! Watching your videos I have learned so much, now I get to do my own nails. Thank you! 🥰❤️
I’ve recently just got into nails and I find press on so easy. They are just a get up, glue and go. Plus they can make a look, like girl your nails is so cute😂😂
🙌🏽 I'm going to say that this is just great because everybody just can't use acrylic I for one can't because I'm allergic to it so switching to gel can help but these nails are great for everybody that still might love nails but don't want the work of it all to get them these are already nicely shaped & painted so thanks for sharing this with us giving another option to be able to choose from!
😁❣️ fast to put on and their designs are better than anything I can do 😆 🙏💅
shooott, their designs are better than most nail salons can do ! PERIOD . LBVS 🥰💯
love the news
lol
@@amberkraemer6894 right! I've worn acrylic nails for more than 30 years and since the pandemic Ive been doing my nails and last week tried press on nails. Let me tell you something, my nail no longer sees me for nail service. It's really therapeutic for me when doing my nails. I have to do this hack!
That’s pretty! I might start doing this because I’m tired of every nail salon sawing my nails when they shape them and cutting my skin!
That’s the same reason I stop going to nail salons.
Yes same I hate that !!!
And then spray alcohol in your cuts they just made 🙄
My mother has been dealing with a nail that has turned black/infected & with a swollen cuticle….for over a year now.
The nail tech used his one long fingernail to push her cuticle back & she told him it hurt….next thing you know it’s all infected!
Soaking it/repeated antibiotics have not worked.
She told me she drove by the nail place the other day & gave them the finger 🤣
Finally. You cracked the code for me. Been looking for a longer hold for my press ons. My family will be happy there wont be lost random nails everywhere now. 😂
🤣🤣🤣 My mother-in-law just called me yesterday to tell me she found another nail 🙄girl just throw it away.. My wife always finds them in the washer 🤣🤣
LMAO!
WHAT KIND OF GEL DO I NEEEEEED?!?! i been using glue and now im like "why did i not THINK of this?!?" what she mean by gel base coat and gel peel off or something? what kind a gel do i need help a sister out i know im a year late LOL
Girl I have top coat sitting in my room and press on but no glue this video is it for me. I love love love this ❤️❤️❤️
you use top coat? idk the difference betwene gel polishes...do i need base coat, top coat, peel off , im so confuseddd
Love press on nails for the value, variety, and ease of just pressing them on! LOL
I’m glad I came across this video because I was thinking of using my poly gel base coat as glue as well. I’m excited to try this out now
Can you try the cat eye magnetic polish mix it with polygel.... an see if it still works.
I am learning to become a nail tech...but as a busy mom of 4..I like press on nails because they are a quicker way to get a great look! They come pre-designed and I get to enjoy different looks! Thank you for the chance
Omg you just saved me girl! I have been struggling to figure out how to get them to last! And not lift! Ugh so happy. Trying out tomorrow
Did it work love?
@@shayhayden837 yes!!!
@@curlrockincrazy455 I just tried it and it didn’t work for me. Any tips?
I AM A MOTHER OF 2 BOYS AND SINCE THAN I HAVENT DONE MY NAILS I USED TO GO GET THEM DONE EVERY 2 TO 3 WEEKS BUT NO MORESINCE THAN ... AND I JUST STARTED USING PRESS ONS OH MAN SOO MUCH cheaper and nice nails i just learning by watching your videos 🥰💖💖💖💖
Wow i didnt know you could use this with press on nails (nails that are already designed) i didnt know the gel could cure. Awesome! Cant wait to try it.
my thoughts exactly, something isnt right!
I think these nails must be ever so slightly transparent so that the light can go through, most designed press on nails this wont work for unless the nail bed area isn’t fully opaque
If it’s hard gel like the gel you can build with an use over designs an stuff yes. It work. I use it for my nails an it holds better then glue.
@@samimua1986 wait... so hard gel works on nails that are opaque?! I’ve only done it with clear or sheer nails.
@@MissNish02 it doesn’t lmao, the light from the lamp needs to actually hit the gel otherwise the gel won’t cure at all
I love press on because I can slay my nails and not break the bank but still look like I went to the nail shop...I love your channel thank you for all the hacks have learned so much.
I do my toe nails like this and they stay for a month and it looks salon. I love it trying it for the first time with my nails tonight. 💅🏻 thanks
If the press-ons are pre-painted with a colour, will the led light still go right through the press-ons and cure properly? I bought press-one that are pre-painted and decorated. I would have thought the light couldn’t get through them? 🤷🏻♀
Wow those look so beautiful. Loving the bling. Press on nails are a game changer for a quick elegant look.
if y’all are wondering if this really works: i’ve been using this method for almost a year, and it works amazingly! and you don’t even need that much base coat on your nails!
Same here! It works!
what kind of base coat do you recommend?
@@cardibee8969 For me, I soak them off with just soap and warm water if I'm keeping the press ons. If I don't want to keep them I use acetone.
@@lyricconaway1929 Any base coat
Do you have to cure them on the lamp when you apply already the nail ?
I love the press ons because I can change them with my outfits. I can stand being stuck with the same ones
So peel off base coat meant that you just peel the nails off when you're through right but ..
1) If using reg base coat, does it work the same and are they just as good staying put?
2) How do I take them off without damaging the fake nails with reg base coat since I can't use oil or soapy warm water to remove them?
Soak them in acetone
She said "without damaging the nails" ... I was wondering the same thing, because I'd like to reuse them if possible, and I want to avoid damaging my real nails as well!!
GIIIIIRRRLLLL YOUR ABOUT TO SAVE ME SO MUCH MONEY. Cause after about a month um ready for the salon acrylics to come off anyway. Thankyou queen
Such a good hack! I'm glad I found you!!!❤️ I love nails, I've been doing my own for years but I'm not professional at all 😂 I've done acrylic, dip powder, polygel but this honestly seems like the easiest way! 💅🏼 Brb going to get press ons and try this out 😁
I'm coming back to press ons. Great video! Thanks for the base coat tip. Excited to try on my next set.
Press on Thursday’s woohoo I’m here for it they are so beautiful ♥️♥️ luv it
I just bought a few boxes of these nails and I was wanting to try them this way with my hard builder gel and was only thinking that it wouldn't cure through the opaque nails but your video showed me it will work!
@@ellenlevenson7831 good point, I remember going to the jail shop and this lady had ridiculously long nails and asked the guy to put glue on the underside of her nail
i didint expect this to work so imagine my shock when it did. thanks!!
Never knew that base coat can be solely used as glue. The look bomb girl!
Me nethier we learn something new 😊
Is she saying ANY base coat? I have a Gelish base coat I could use..
I love love love press ons. I get mine from Etsy soo many talented artists!!! I’m gonna check this out!! I just found u girl!!!! 🎉
Thank you so much. This works great. My nails have lasted two weeks so far. So 😊
Do you use this method with colored nails? This didn't work for already paint nails... But seemed to work for her and you. Wonder what I'm doing wrong....
I’m so loaded up on press on nails. 💅🏽 all kinda designs and style lengths
This works I used the beetles base coat and went back over the nail with base coat and a top coat. Looks just like I went to the shop THANKS ❤
Hey does beetles work well?
@@anablessed Yes it does but I no longer do this method
@@mekb1258 can I ask why you stopped. I was thinking about trying it.
@@tladyleggz It doesnt seem to last with press ons already designed for me
@@mekb1258 how are you doing it now
So I just tried this on one nail 🤯. I'm hype. Can't wait to do a whole set.
@Rachel Fernandez i use the beetles gel nail starter kit I bought off Amazon. It was about $20 and came with a lamp too.
I love this method, I also learned the lazy girl method from Femi Beauty. The color of the set you put on is gorgeous. I like press ons because they're convenient. Being a mother of 4, I don't always have time to get my nails done.
I wish I would’ve saw this yesterday…I just glued some nails but I used A TON to help them not pop off. Currently using efile around cuticle
Update?
Is it a regular gel base coat?
@@simplydee25 Update. The longer nails lasted a week. But I removed them so effortlessly, filed, sanitized and reapplied them after cutting them to a fairly regular length (not short, but not super long) and the first one popped off today (2 weeks later) because I was doing something aggressive with them. So I would say it works, just be mindful if nail length.
@@conejitoverde Yes, mine is a regular soak-off gel polish base coat.
I never knew base coat would work!! I've tried the builder gel&that worked for me . But this?!?? Gotta try it!!!
Christine Ferguson which builder gel do you use . The base coat did not work for me

i’ve been envisioning this method in my head for years but was scared to try 😭😭
So what are you using to hold on the acrylic nail base-coat ?. loved it !. thanks for sharing.
Where did the peel off base/top coat come from? I may have missed it lol I’m a bit ditsy.
I had no idea this application can also work for press on’s! This is a game changer! 😍❤️
Do you have any issues with the gel not being cured? I'm trying to apply a fully cover red matte set and the gel doesn't seem to want to cure through the nail and polish, any suggestions?
Did you try nail base Instead of gel?
I’ve read comments and saying the nail has to be somewhat opaque/see through for the lamp to reach the gel so it’s best to use clear or white nails and put them on and then paint them
I have been waiting for a useful video like this one as how to incorporate gel base to use with press on nails. Thank you so much!
You are AMAZING at what you do! Ugghhh even your reaction to this “bashing” going on you deliver great content. Keep going it’s inspiring how you present yourself to us you have your work cut out for you!

I've gotta try this thank you... love you videos... you are so much help... I love doing my nails... I want to learn how to do glitter or flakes that look like they are in between glass hard to explain... but I can't figure out how... maybe use solid glue gel..?
