Nice clear tutorial dude, great flying as always! (Although you forgot to mention the all important race landing! i.e. fly round like a whirling dervish until vaguely close to the ground, then disarm and call it good! 😆🤙)
So, I've got this thing bugging me about the Chimera 7. I'm all pumped up for flying in the snowy, muddy, and downright dirty conditions, but I'm scratching my head about the landing drill. Why can't we just flick the drone into Normal mode and snatch it mid-air? My Chimera 7 hasn't swooped into my life yet, and this is my biggest head-scratcher. With the DJI FPV, I used to groove in M mode most of the time, and when it was time to touchdown, I'd slide into N mode and grab it mid-air. It's a bit weird to me that this isn't on the menu with the Chimera 7, you feel me? Can you shed some light on this landing sitch? Appreciate it!
Brilliant mate, Highly recommend once confident behind the sticks having airmode on a switch. Especially when perching... :-D Ps Thanks for the mention :-D
can't find vid where i asked this question about dji og foam pads, i found if i use a blunt edged thing to wear the rubbery foam pad on og goggles it softens up quite nicely, i went from massive light leak and completely uncomfortable to great fit and no leaks, just rub something like a lighter back and forth across pad where its tight, forehead and cheek pads were my issue, 15 minutes rubbing should do it.
Thanks man... I have always used Fatsharks but recently switched to the DJI digital goggles. You could try to pick up a pair of second hand Fatsharks or Skyzones, otherwise I think Joshua Bardwell has some videos comparing cheaper goggles
@@MagicFPV I can imagine! mate I had a total head mash just trying to setup my TX16s On the Mac, let alone tbs & beta flight!!! When I got my 1st proper quad ( recently ) I didn’t even know how to put the props on right - I mean god forbid any quad companies actually put a manual in with their kit 😬😆 they just rely on JB to do a vid and keep their fingers crossed I think, landing for me at the moment is probably the single most important thing to learn and you explain it brilliantly 🤝
THe first time I flew my 5 inch the camera angle is about 30 degrees. I found I got a bit disorientated when trying to land as I didnt know how low I was because I couldnt see the ground. Apart from lowering the angle is there any other tips you can give?
Why does the drone sneeze like that when touching the ground ? I find myself doing this quite a few times when practicing landing and stuff and want to know if it can affect anything.
Because the flight controller is trying to counteract the external force (the ground). It doesn’t really matter except that it can mess up your landing. Just use it to practice landing softly 😊 Foam landing pads also help
@@MagicFPV could you please make a video that demonstrates flight characteristics at various camera angles. Which settings are best for a beginner pilot. Thank you
so can you say that airmode is like ABS in cars? like you can steer even when the brake is applied or the propellers of the drone are no longer powered
At the 13:34 time mark, can anyone please explain the maneuvers that were made twice in a row? The drone is moving forward though the building and without any stick movement it is headed the opposite direction ? Possibly a programmed switch maneuver? Sorry just getting started and am in the learning stages👍
Trust me there is nothing programmed on a switch for that manoeuvre but I can see how it would look like that. Basically the sticks are moving but it’s hard to see as they are very small and precise movements. The backwards momentum is generated on the way upwards and then it floats backwards with no input due to momentum. If you listen to the motors you’ll hear when the throttle is dropped to zero 😊 Hope that helps

This has really made me laugh mate 😂 I actually had a take where I went over that exact thing but it didn’t make the cut due to length
As long as I don't wreck it, I call it a successful landing.
Brilliant, not many step by step with explanations for beginners. Great video more beginner stuff please.
Thanks 😊 Noted 📝
thanks so much. I always had trouble hovering and landing but this tutorial made it super clear. Love the vids and keep it up!

This is how the pro's do it, alternatively get down to about 10 feet and disarm. 🔥

Yes it’s all the same angle. About 20 degrees
so can you say that airmode is like ABS in cars? like you can steer even when the brake is applied or the propellers of the drone are no longer powered
That’s a really interesting analogy. Yeah it basically keeps it stable by keeping them spinning a small amount at zero throttle

Right here: uk.banggood.com/custlink/3K3hp16dEj
The batteries last 3-6 mins but most people have around 10 batteries

iflight albatross or AXII longrange for the quad, and for the googles; X-Air 5.8
First FPV landings should be done on: grass, concrete, wood, doesn't matter?
The softer the better but grass can get chopped up. The soft rubber surface on playgrounds is really good
